Juan has moved around quite a bit, but one thing he's always been is a major geek, whether it's movies, TV shows, superheroes or Doctor Who. He's always been ionate about something or the other, and enjoys getting to express that ion here at We Got This Covered.
It's truly remarkable to see Doctor Who turn 50 years old, and as a longtime fan of the show, it makes me very, very happy. Of course, with five decades of history under its belt, we also get five decades worth of useless trivia that may only fascinate the most hardcore Who fans.
The best way to prepare for the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who is to expect nothing, it's better that way if you want to truly experience the utter shock one feels from whatever surprises are in store. Doctor Who is always full of twists and turns, especially since Russell T. Davies brought it back in 2005, and we expect nothing less with The Day of the Doctor.
Sherlock fans have been waiting well over a year to find out just how the famous detective survived his apparent 'death'. With no trailer or footage to offer any clues, they have been growing restless. But now fans can rejoice as the first teaser trailer for Season 3 has been released. Unfortunately, it does not contain actual footage from the season, in fact it reveals practically nothing. That being said, it does do a great job of getting the fans excited.
For a brief amount of time, fans were worried that Robert Downey Jr. would not return as Tony Stark in any of the future Marvel movies and that his role would be re-cast. He had been holding out for more money, not for himself, but for his Avengers co-stars who were getting paid much less than he was. Now it looks like a deal has been worked out though as Downey has signed on to return as Iron Man once again for two more films.
This day was long coming, but I'm not sure I'm ready for this yet. Matt Smith has announced that he will be leaving Doctor Who at the end of this year's Christmas Special episode. He'll be back for the 50th Anniversary in November of course, along with David Tennant, the Tenth Doctor. But a month later he'll be gone and a Twelfth Doctor will arrive.
It's been a long, long wait, but the Series 7 finale of Doctor Who is finally here, and it brings a whole bunch of answers and even more questions. Lots of things happened at once, and the episode just flew by rather quickly, leading up to one heck of a cliffhanger. It felt like a roller coaster ride with new information thrown at you every 2 minutes, with barely a moment to catch your breath and process it. And frankly, it was brilliant.
So this is it, the end. The Office is finally over, and while it still stings, I'm left satisfied and happy with no lingering questions or doubts. The show knew that it was its time to go, and that's what made the finale so perfect. It so deftly brought each character arc to a close while still being the show that we love, and it exceeded all of my expectations.
A cold open is the opening of a show usually before it hits the title sequence. When it comes to The Office, the cold opens are usually nothing short of excellent. Sometimes it's related to the plot of the whole episode. Other times it's just random shenanigans that we end up loving so much.
If there's one thing Doctor Who has done with Series 7, it's providing arguably the best Cyberman and Dalek episodes of the relaunched era. Last week we had a fun but ultimately weak episode with The Crimson Horror, which I judged on different standards since it was an episode by Mark Gatiss, one of the weaker writers of the show. This week I'm judging the episode on different standards once again as Neil Gaiman (one of the strongest writers of the show) returns with his Cyberman episode, Nightmare in Silver. In short, it's a winner.
Michael Scott may have been the star of The Office, but as my friend once put it, Jim and Dwight are the lifeblood. Without them, the show would never have been successful, or at least, not as successful as it is today. Their relationship is a major part of what keeps the show together and when it's not there, the show suffers for it.
