Prince William and Kate Middleton outline a path to redemption for Prince Harry but absolutely ‘don’t want to see Meghan again’

Prince Harry but there is one very big condition that comes along with this forgiveness. What’s more it seems this opportunity for redemption has not been extended to Meghan Markle.

During an interview with the BBC earlier this month Harry expressed his wish for “reconciliation” as he put it. The trouble is the rest of his family just don’t trust him enough to let him back in. Whether or not the royal family wishes to welcome the wayward prince back or not is irrelevant right now as he needs to earn back this trust before he can even begin to think about reconciliation. According to an anonymous source that spoke to US Weekly William and his wife “can forgive Harry because he’s family.”

How can Harry redeem himself to William and Kate?

So what does the Duke of Sussex have to do in order to prove himself to the Prince and Princess of Wales? Well the source claims that “The first step is to stop talking to the public about private matters.” While that may sound easy, Harry has stumbled at this hurdle multiple times. From talking to Oprah, to publishing his memoir to his BBC interview, it seems like Harry just can’t help himself. 

This is why the royals find it difficult to trust him. In fact, William and Kate have pretty much banned any mention of Harry and his wife around them in order to maintain their own peace of mind. If the prince really wants reconciliation then he will have to remain tight-lipped as William and Kate “don’t see a path forward until Harry can stay quiet.”

The offer doesn’t extend to Meghan

While William has extended an olive branch to his little brother due to them being family, that branch won’t stretch to Meghan. “Everything changed when Meghan came into the fold,” the source claimed. The future king and queen apparently “don’t want to see Meghan again,” although they do acknowledge that the Duchess of Sussex is “not blamed for everything, and Harry is a part of it.” Regardless, even the mention of Meghan’s name is banned around Kate according to the source.

“No one on the staff can mention Meghan’s name to Kate right now, her name is basically banned because of the stress around it, and she doesn’t want it anymore.”

It’s unlikely Harry will choose the royal family over his wife so it’s difficult to imagine him reconciling any time soon. Regardless, it seems William and Kate have left the door slightly ajar for him in case he changes his mind.
