Just last month, to the dismay of Pokémon fans everywhere, Nintendo announced that its Treehouse: Live @ E3 2016 broadcast would be home to one title and one title alone—The Legend of Zelda on Wii U. However, trainers of all ages can breathe a sigh of relief now knowing that the company has recently retracted their aforementioned position.
In addition to the proverbial Zelda title, Nintendo will show off the latest Pokémon entries at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016. An official announcement by way of the Japanese Pokémon website revealed that in addition to Pokémon Sun and Moon, fans can anticipate to see more about the mobile game, Pokémon Go, as well.
It is unclear as to what will be shown off exactly, but if the latest trailer is any indication, fans can expect to learn more about the Alola Region and its inhabitants, character customization options, the new Rotom Pokédex, and of course, the new legendries Solgaleo and Lunala.
Here’s hoping more story information is divulged as well, chiefly the antagonist group and the player’s rival counterpart. The previous generation, X and Y, were particularly dark in tone, and we can only speculate what narrative direction Sun and Moon will head in.

June 14, 2016 @ 12 PM EST: Pokémon Sun and Moon
June 15, 2016 @ 1 PM EST: Pokémon Go Q&A
June 16, 2016 @ 10 AM EST: A special Pokémon broadcast
Pokemon Sun and Moon are set to be released on the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS this year on November 18, 2016 in both Japan and North America. Fans in Europe—per usual—will have to wait, but can pick the game up on November 23, 2016. Pokémon Go is currently in closed beta on Android and iOS, but is slated for a 2016 release.
