Swashbuckling action-adventure game Sea of Thieves will be opened to a small selection of players as part a Technical Alpha test next week, developer Rare has announced. Come December 16, anyone who's signed up to Microsoft's Insider Program scheme in the past will be in with a chance to form their own motley crew of vagabond pirates and set in search of treasure and whatever else it is that pirates love. If that sounds like your jam and you're not already an Insider, you'll want to pay the game's official website sharpish visit in order to - initial places are limited to 1,000 players, with more to be invited over the course of the Alpha test.
