2015 was supposed to be the big one. A year of huge movies – long-awaited sequels to Star Wars, Mad Max and Jurassic Park, a second Avengers, another Bond from Craig and Mendes and not one but two Pixar flicks – the likes of which we’d never seen before. It was the year of Tom Cruise dangling out of a plane during take-off and of DiCaprio making an epic journey of revenge through the snowy wilderness.
The year that followed should have provided a breather, but we’re not even halfway through and already 2016 is shaping up to be a decent rival to 2015. We’ve had another Cloverfield sequel to out-do the original, a couple of critically-adored Disney pics in Zootopia and The Jungle Book, and a Marvel movie that out-Avengered the last Avengers film.
All in all, it’s not been a bad year (and we still have Rogue One and a new Bourne movie to come), and so far, there have been plenty of memorable individual scenes in 2016 – here, are ten of the best.
