Muggles rejoice as the entire ‘Harry Potter’ franchise finally debuts on Netflix, but there’s a catch

Time to dust off your wizard hat and had back to Hogwarts.

Netflix has at long last given the people what they want. No, it hasn’t Harry Potter films to its rotating library of theatrical eye entertainment.

For fans of the franchise, it can sometimes be a struggle to find the best place to stream the entire saga. But the announcement from Netflix on its Twitter means Harry’s entire story is finally housed under one roof. The tweet simply read, “All eight Harry Potter films are now on @NetflixUK!!”

The bad news? This announcement is specifically for Netflix UK, which obviously sucks for fans in the U.S. or other parts of the world.

Will Netflix US be bringing its audience into the fantastical world of Hogwarts anytime soon? Well, there currently isn’t any news on whether it will be. Unfortunately, there are a number of factors that might explain why the platform won’t stream the films in the U.S., and it’s pretty common for certain shows and movies to only be available to stream in certain regions.

Whilst the response to the announcement on Twitter was mostly positive, there were many fans who decided to take the opportunity to call out Netflix for canceling Lockwood & Co. It almost looks like Netflix has sacrificed one British Fantasy in order to gain another, which has not gone over well with the masses.

If you’re in the U.K., you’re free to relive all of your favorite childhood memories in Hogwarts along with the first two Fantastic Beasts movies.
