‘Real confusing to me’: Tim Allen somehow still struggling to wrap his head around the concept of ‘Lightyear’

Just in; irrelevant actor fails to comprehend an irrelevant movie.

For someone with decades of experience in the industry, Lightyear.

The blockbuster Pixar animation – which ended up as one of the biggest box office bombs of last year after losing more than $100 million following a lackluster theatrical run – is set in a universe where Buzz Lightyear, Star Command, and all of the associated bells and whistles are real. That’s all there is to it, but the voice actor behind the character still doesn’t get it.

Of course, Allen has been critical of the film in the past, which is a touch ironic considering he’s starred in some absolute stinkers throughout his career, and he continued echoing that sentiment in a recent interview with The Daily Mail. To boil it down to its essence, the largely irrelevant actor can’t comprehend the largely irrelevant status of a largely irrelevant movie.

“Allen said: ‘”They were two completely different movies. And Chris did a great job doing an ancillary part. It was very confusing to all of us on the Toy Story movie side, which was real? I’m a script guy, so if Buzz is real, then Chris’s version of it was, as an actor doing it, real confusing to me.”

On the plus side, Allen can lay his confusion to rest for good when Toy Story 5 eventually lands in theaters, and you can be certain Buzz won’t be starring in his second consecutive flop. After all, even though we technically didn’t even need the fourth one, the franchise is coming off back-to-back billion dollar hits, which means everyone – the Home Improvement alum included – can all carry on with their lives and pretend as though Lightyear never even happened.
