Is Simon Pegg Going To Play Ant-Man For Edgar Wright?

Of all the people rumored for the role of Ant-Man, Simon Pegg is one name that hasn't come up a whole lot. It's surprising too. He's a frequent collaborator of director Edgar Wright, he's quite popular in Hollywood and most of all, he's a damn fine actor and one who I actually think would do quite well in the role.

Of all the people rumored for the role of Ant-Man, Simon Pegg is one name that hasn’t come up a whole lot. It’s surprising too. He’s a frequent collaborator of director Edgar Wright, he’s quite popular in Hollywood and most of all, he’s a damn fine actor and one who I actually think would do quite well in the role.

So, why all of the sudden is Pegg coming up in regards to the Marvel film? Well, I’ll tell you. It’s because the actor recently paid a visit to the offices of Marvel and while there, he took some pictures which he posted to his Twitter . Though this all may be just one big joke, or a marketing ploy to get people talking, Pegg more or less tells us through the last picture that he might be playing Ant-Man.

If you recall, Vin Diesel did something similar back when he took his meeting with Marvel so I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be true.

I really hope that Pegg isn’t getting our hopes up for nothing. I love him in everything he does and I think it would be a brilliant decision to pair him up again with Wright for Ant-Man. Throw Nick Frost in there too and you’ve got a winning formula.

Ok, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself. I just really love The Cornetto trio (Pegg/Frost/Wright) and thinking about them making a Marvel film together is something that excites me greatly.

A week or so ago I spoke with Wright while he was out doing press for his new film The World’s End. I had actually meant to ask him about what he thought of Pegg as Ant-Man but I ran out of time. Now I’m kicking myself for not getting to that question earlier.

Anyways, for now, all we can do is wait on official confirmation. Until we get that, check out the photos below and let us know if you think Simon Pegg will be playing Ant-Man.
