The rose-tinted glasses come off as fans debate if ‘Far From Home’ impacts the MCU’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy as a whole

It’s common knowledge that Spider-Man Far From Home is the unfortunate middle child in the MCU-driven Spidey movies. As a result, it doesn’t always get the attention it deserves, and some fans are even wondering if it had any memorable impact on the MCU at all.

The discussion took place on the Marvel Studios subreddit, where one fan asked if the second entry makes the whole Spider-Man trilogy feel uneven. 

And they have a point, seeing as it’s easy to think that Far From Home failed to contribute anything of real substance to the greater story. No Way Home are frequently credited as some of Spider-Man’s best on screen adventures. Homecoming is ed for being the first MCU Spider-Man film whilst No Way Home gave us three generations of Spider-Men uniting through the multiverse to fight their villains. Meanwhile, Far From Home gave us… Night Monkey?

However, fans were quick to jump to the middle film’s defense with many arguing that the film does a great job at continuing the narrative of the MCU post blip. It also developed Peter’s character even further than the first film as he learns to operate without the guidance of a mentor. On top of that, the film sets up the events of No Way Home perfectly.

For some, it’s their favorite movie in the MCU trilogy and it’s not hard to see why. The film was a fantastic end to Phase 3, and it did everything right. On top of that, it gave us Jake Gyllenhaal in the MCU. The only sin the film commits is being in between two other amazing MCU films to the point that it’s drowned out a bit.
