Second Trailer For The Dictator Reveals More Plot Details

I have to it, I wasn't entirely sold on Sacha Baron Cohen's film The Dictator when I saw the first footage from it. I enjoyed Borat and thought parts of Bruno were funny, but I just didn't see the appeal of this film, until now that is. Yesterday, Paramount released a second trailer for the film which not only gives us some more plot details, but is also laugh out loud funny.

I have to it, I wasn’t entirely sold on Sacha Baron Cohen‘s film The Dictator when I saw the first footage from it. I enjoyed Borat and thought parts of Bruno were funny but I just didn’t see the appeal of this film, until now that is. Yesterday, Paramount released a second trailer for the film which not only gives us some more plot details, but is also laugh out loud funny.

Sacha Baron Cohen plays a “fictional dictator from the Middle East who comes to America.” What’s revealed in the trailer is that he becomes an everyday citizen trying to find his way in New York, a new plot point that wasn’t known until this preview was released.

After watching the trailer a couple of times, I’m now fully on board with the film. I laughed multiple times while watching the preview and I think Cohen may have another hit on his hands with We Need To Talk About Kevin).

Larry Charles will direct Cohen, along with co-stars  Anna FarisBen KingsleyJohn C. Reilly, even B.J. Novak and Aasif Mandvi. The film is set for a May 11th release date.

Check out the trailer for The Dictator below.
