When I first heard saw that JayKode and Lookas put out a "Leave The World Behind" remix, I assumed it was a disingenuous attempt to capitalize on Swedish House Mafia reunion fervor. It turns out that the two artists have been working on it since 2014, however - and more importantly, it bangs.

Deborah Cox’s anthemic vocal is pitched up in JayKode and Lookas’ version, which makes for a high-energy iteration of the future bass format. A main stage-friendly buildup detonates into a mesmerizing array of pad synths, capturing an entirely different energy than that of the source material.

The song certainly has Tiësto’s blessing, as he played it during his performance at this year’s edition of EDC Las Vegas back in June. And judging by the crowd’s response, he’s not in the minority, either.
