Sony unveiled a completely reworked PlayStation Store today at a London press event, which will replace the current store with one that promises to be much more friendly.

The new layout is scheduled to launch on October 23rd in North America and October 17th in Europe. Once it hits, the PlayStation Store will take on a much darker look that is intended to better highlight new content with a new UI for games, movies, and TV shows on the front page. Sony has also separated digital content for the PS3 and PS Vita, so that s can get where they are headed faster.

In addition to the new look and layout, there will also be an improved search feature that can recognize and correct spelling mistakes, and s can put filters in place to further limit the search results.

Check out the new look for the PlayStation Store in the screenshots below, and let us know what you think of the upgrade in the comments.
