Trump says windmills are killing the country and are ‘littered’ everywhere. Has he ever actually seen one?

Donald Trump doesn't know what he's talking about and it's obvious.

In case you missed it, Donald Trump has just come out and attacked windmills which isn’t that much of a surprise considering this man doesn’t like anything that’s objectively good.

The president referred to these “windmills” as the “greatest scam in history.” He calls them windmills, but we can assume he’s talking about wind turbines here, you know, the things that provide clean and renewable energy. He claims that the turbines save American taxpayers “hundreds of billions of dollars,” he doesn’t cite his source (but they probably don’t save that much) and it’s hard to tell whether he meant that sarcastically.

Anyways, the positive aspects of wind turbines are irrelevant because Trump claims they are “killing our country.” How you may ask? Well they’re killing the U.S. by being an eyesore. That’s right, nevermind all the good these turbines do for the environment and how much money they could potentially save customers, we’ve got to get rid of them because they’re ugly.

Donald Trump thinks windmills are eyesores

If anyone knows a thing or two about ugly designs it should be Trump. Just look at his garish decoration of the oval office. Or what about the imposing and unappealing Trump Tower? For him to be calling wind turbines ugly just seems a little hypocritical.

I’m not saying turbines aren’t an eyesore, I’m just saying if we got rid of things because they looked ugly we would have gotten rid of Trump a long time ago. Then again, I don’t believe the president has ever even seen a wind turbine with his own two eyes. If he had, maybe he wouldn’t be so harsh on them.

The president goes on to warn that these energy providers will degrade with time, “they get older, they get rusty, and they get bad.” Newsflash: everything degrades with time, from the pipes that pump oil from the ground to the nuclear reactors in power plants across the U.S. We need to invest money in maintaining turbines the same as everything else.

The president doesn’t care about the environment

The president then goes on to relay a story told to him by a “smart” and “successful” friend of his. The unnamed friend returned to his hometown to find a beautiful field “littered” with windmills. How much do you want to bet this friend of Trump’s is some sort of oil baron?

It’s ironic that Trump should feel so ionate about these windmills ruining the scenic beauty of nature when he’s shown many times in the past that he doesn’t care about nature. Have we already forgotten his plans to allow more drilling for oil? That’s right, he’s going to bulldoze national parks to allow companies to dig for more oil and gas.

Could Donald Trump please stomp pretending that his concern regarding these turbines is rooted in preserving nature? He’s not fooling anybody. It’s more likely that he knows they’re not profitable for him and so he wants to get rid of them.
