Leonardo DiCaprio has been greenlit to appear in an Squid Game episode, or even season, of his choice according to series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk. But would his appearance on the show be a windfall for the unlikely hit series, or would it be its downfall?

Dong-hyuk revealed during today’s media conference celebrating the series’ multiple Emmy wins that DiCaprio, who he claims to be a big fan of the show, would be a welcome guest or star for season 3. “Leonardo DiCaprio did say he’s a big fan of Squid Game,” he said, cheekily, “so maybe if time or chances allow, we can ask him to the games. We have already joked about that,” reported Deadline.

But all jokes aside, would it be wise to bring in an American A-Lister to the cast at this point, or even in the future? Especially one who carries the reputation (and, let’s face it, the baggage) of Leonardo DiCaprio? DiCaprio has a fanbase that goes all the way back to the halcyon days of “Leomania” that followed his starring role in Titanic, and he has made his way up the rungs of Hollywood movie stardom to be regarded as one of the finest actors of his generation, not to mention the current muse of legendary director Martin Scorsese.

Bringing in DiCaprio almost seems to parallel Squid Game‘s theme of deadly consequences for seemingly low-stakes games. A star of that caliber ing the cast of relative unknowns seems like setting off a nuclear warhead to win a game of monopoly. Adding any major global star could have a seriously detrimental effect on the show, distracting from the very charms that have made the series such a phenomenon.

Fortunately, fans won’t have to worry about that when it comes to the second season. “There will be no known Hollywood actor in season two,” Dong-hyuk stated at the conference, according to Deadline. “That’s not in the plan and if the stage changes, maybe in season three.”

Two days after Jimmy Kimmel floored the Emmy audience on Sunday night with his poorly thought-out sketch that saw him impede upon Quinta Brunson‘s acceptance speech, he failed to address the situation upon his late-night talk show’s return.

The complete lack of mention of the incident, as if no one saw what happened, became even more strange when a comedic Emmy segment aired and Kimmel also spoke about other Emmy moments of the night, including one where he claims Andrew Garfield basically saved his life.

With Quinta Brunson scheduled to be on his show Wednesday night, it can be assumed he is saving it all for her appearance but it still doesn’t mean that not bringing it up at all during his first opportunity should go unnoticed, especially when he simply mentioned her name as one of his guests, completely ignoring the elephant in the room.

Sunday night, Kimmel became a method actor at the worst possible time, laying down on the Emmy stage, feigning unconsciousness via intoxication and refusing to move even for his friend Quinta Brunson when she was receiving her much-deserved award, forcing her to give her speech while standing above Kimmel.

It was Brunson’s first Emmy, given to her for Most Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series thanks to her work on Abbott Elementary, but the moment was effectively tainted by Kimmel’s comedic ingenious.

Brunson, who not only wrote Abbott Elementary but is also its creator and star, was asked about the moment after the show and expressed how Jimmy has always been ive of her during her career but also expressed that she might feel different tomorrow. She also took a light-hearted photo with him afterward where she uses her newly won Emmy to cover Jimmy’s face.

Jimmy Kimmel was also asked about it after the show and praised Quinta, though he kept up the charade about being knocked out at the time of her speech.

Kimmel has certainly been involved in his share of controversies over the last two decades, including wearing blackface multiple times, using a racial slur in a sketch, and saying that the city of Detroit will burn if the Pistons win the NBA title. He apologized many times and expressed embarrassment about his past sketches.

He is apparently not embarrassed enough about his Sunday night shenanigans to apologize during his first show since.

Now, we see if that will happen at all as the long-time talk show host apparently waits for Wednesday night to address his recent actions, or complete lack thereof, during Quinta Brunson’s speech.

Andrew Garfield is not just an on-screen superhero, it seems. The one-and-only Jimmy Kimmel has revealed that the much-beloved Spider-Man actually saved his life at the 2022 Emmys.

Garfield attended the Emmys following his nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role in Under the Banner of Heaven, apparently sharing a table with Jimmy Kimmel. Emmy winner Amanda Seyfried, Chris O’Donnell, and several stars of The Bear were also seated at the star-stacked table.

But it seems that the fun could’ve been short-lived if it weren’t for Garfield. As the dancers performed some of their opening numbers to classic TV show themes, the table found itself to be precariously close to the action. As the dancers used some prop spears, the spearhead manage to fly off straight into the head of none other than Kimmel himself, as he explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“And these dancers come out with spears, and are banging the spears around, and about halfway through the tip on one of the spears comes flying off the handle, straight at us. And out of nowhere, and I swear to God this happened, Andrew Garfield lunges forward and snatches it out of the air! Like Spider-Man! Just as Spider-Man would have done, had he been in an undercover situation.”

“And of the night, the tip of the spear was still on the table,” Kimmel said, “I grabbed it off the table, and uh, here I am with the superhero.”

Kimmel then showed the audience a photo of him with Garfield and the almost murder weapon from TV’s night of nights.

It’s all perhaps very fitting in a way, with Garfield’s outfit for the Emmys highly reminiscent of webhead villain Doctor Octopus, albeit without the four mechanical arms protruding from his back.

Garfield most recently appeared as Spider-Man during Spider-Man: No Way Home, starring alongside Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland. No Way Home can be streamed from Amazon Prime Video.

Ted Lasso saw plaudits aplenty at the 2022 Emmys, but one of the night’s best moments saw two of its stars Phil Dunster and award-winner Brett Goldstein get all cuddly.

Goldstein and Lasso continued their respective hot streaks at the Emmys, with the Roy Kent actor winning the Outstanding ing Actor in a Comedy Series category during Monday night’s festivities. His plus one for the awards show was none other than his co-star, and often on-screen rival, Dunster, who plays Jamie Tartt.

Tartt is the exact opposite of Kent: he’s a flash, Jack Grealish-esque footballer with a love for theatrics. At odds with each other for most of the series, it clearly cannot be further from reality with their actors.

Fans are thoroughly enjoying the two’s bromance off-screen, with comments flying in thick and fast shipping the duo: stoked by Dunster’s caption which read “[T]hank you for having me as your date @mrbrettgoldstein. You’re fit and clever.”. A lovely duo for the ages.

One irrevocably horny let everyone know they’d love to be “sandwiched between” Dunster and Goldstein, which is a fairly relatable comment.

The duo will play a big part in Ted Lasso’s third and final season, which is not expected to release until at least late 2023. The series has had great success at the Emmys since it first aired, winning seven awards and receiving 40 nominations.

Amidst an array of snubs at the 2022 Emmy Awards last night, television fanatics were most dismayed after Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk did not take home a single award — despite the Breaking Bad spinoff airing its final season this year.

Despite the unexpected rebuff, the 59-year-old actor took to his official Twitter last night to properly thank those that have helped and ed him and the crime series since its debut on AMC back in 2015 — which includes co-star Rhea Seehorn, who portrayed Saul’s ex-girlfriend Kim Wexler.

Odenkirk’s post of gratitude featured an adorable photo of the beloved duo at the Emmys last night, which was likely taken at some point either before or after the aforementioned snub. The acclaimed actor was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category for his leading role in Better Call Saul, although Squid Game’s Lee Jung-jae would take home the award, which was undoubtedly well-deserved.

Still, Odenkirk’s presence in the hit series was definitely the driving force behind the project, and his strong acting prowess can be attested for the show’s ever-popular success and recognition over the years. It’s worth noting, as well, that Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston won a handful of Emmys for his role as Walter White when the show was airing — which included an Emmy win in the same year that the show concluded.

This accomplishment has been largely compared to Odenkirk, with plenty of folks believing that he should have won the Emmy for Better Call Saul’s final run, much like his Breaking Bad universe counterpart. Nevertheless, folks can enjoy the performance personally by watching Better Call Saul on Netflix and AMC Plus.

While we know Ted Lasso season three is on its way and we eagerly await the series continuation following that season two finale cliffhanger, Jason Sudeikis is already fielding questions about season four, and he’s here to tell you you’re asking the wrong guy.

Following the 2022 Emmy Awards, the Ted Lasso star addressed reporters, per Deadline, on the subject, saying it ultimately wasn’t his call and is unable to give a direct answer on the subject.

“I don’t know, it’s up to more factors than myself. The response has been overwhelming. We have a tremendous group of writers, actors, people in production and post production, all of those thrown in the jambalaya of possibility. I couldn’t say yes or no. I know this part of the show is what it’s supposed to be.

“I apologize for not giving you a direct answer because that’s more helpful for headlines. if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you.”

While the distant future of the fish-out-of-water comedy series remains unclear, it didn’t stop Ted Lasso from cleaning up at the 2022 Emmys.  The series itself took out the Outstanding Comedy Series Award, Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein won Outstanding Lead and ing Actor (respectively) in a Comedy Series, and MJ Delaney went home with Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.

While news on season four is scarce, we do know season three is being written with a concrete ending in mind, according to Sudeikis’ co-star Brett Goldstein when speaking with The Times in June.

As of writing, a premiere date for Ted Lasso season three has not yet been set.

Oscar Isaac didn’t walk away from the 2022 Emmys with a statuette to call his own, but he will be overjoyed to know he is now up for DILF of the night in the eyes of many.

Isaac was up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his performance in Scenes from a Marriage, but lost out to fellow Marvel star Michael Keaton for Dopesick. The loss was perhaps not surprising, and fans were able to get some joy out of a photo going viral of him posing with Andrew Garfield.

Frankly, the sheer level of thirst and horny-posting around Isaac anytime he does anything as simple as move is astounding. Like vultures ready to clean up a corpse, these stans are ready to thirst. Sporting a beard since his work on Dune: Part One, it’s continuing to make an impression on his fans.

You haven’t truly made it as an A-list actor until you have fan s dedicated to every photo of you that pops up online like Isaac, Zendaya, and Sydney Sweeney have.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a male Marvel actor who has fans feeling a stronger way than they do about Isaac. Having ed the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the titular hero in Moon Knight, he’s almost certain to end up in countless more projects.

Isaac’s series which saw him not pick up an Emmy, Scenes from a Marriage, can be streamed from HBO Max.

The 2022 Emmy Awards came and went, with the best of the best in TV coming together to celebrate the industry’s biggest achievements of the year. However, one fanbase in particular is feeling shortchanged, with the cast and crew of the critically acclaimed Better Call Saul going home empty-handed.

The series itself was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, Bob Odenkirk for Outstanding Lead Actor, and Rhea Seehorn Outstanding ing Actress, among a list of other nominations we could spend pages upon pages listing out. Yet, not a single accolade went to the hugely popular Breaking Bad spinoff. 

Fans of the show waited with bated breath all night for their favorite show to get some recognition, but it never came to be.

Despite having both audience and critic scores above 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, it would seem the Television Academy thinks the likes of Squid Game, Ted Lasso and Ozark are more worthy candidates for one of TV’s highest honors. 

Better Call Saul ended its six-season run last month, and showrunner Vince Gilligan confirmed he will not be revisiting the universe of Breaking Bad again any time soon. At least the original series will always be flush with accolades, getting 16 Emmys under its belt before ending its run. 

You may or may not be aware of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Looks like those at the Television Academy might’ve missed the memo, and her ing being absent from the 2022 Emmys has given people a real hill to die on…because the Queen is first and foremost a TV star, right?

Following her ing, everyone and their dad, and their dad’s favorite kebab shop paid tribute to the British monarch. For a solid 72 hours every bit of news around the world was focusing on her ing, and many are now shocked Lizzie didn’t get to appear alongside Lizzo at the Emmys.

One of the best-known portrayals of Her Majesty came in the perennial Emmys favorite The Crown, which has won Olivia Colman and Claire Foy awards in the past.

Others made silly jokes around the Emmys having the nerve, the cheek and the GALL to skip over the late monarch considering it’s been nearly a week since her ing. Surely, all events should’ve been canceled just in case we don’t spend all of our conscious time mourning her loss. At the very least, Olivia Colman should be ready to have her Emmy award smelted down and used to forge King Charles III a new crown.

All of this discussion was sparked by a New York Post article that might have been in the drafts the moment the Queen died. The publication immediately had an article published upon the conclusion of In Memoriam segment at the Emmys complaining about the lack of tribute being paid to her.

In reality, MY queen – Zendaya – is still alive, and she just won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in Euphoria. Meanwhile, there has been more outrage over Bob Odenkirk not picking up a gong for Better Call Saul in his final season.

Bob Odenkirk was one of the many unlucky actors at the Emmys, as his Better Call Saul performance yielded zero rewards at the the night of nights.

Nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Saul Goodman, he lost out to Korean actor Lee Jung-jae from Netflix’s surprise hit Squid Game. The army of memes soon followed after the snubbing, and frankly Odenkirk deserves a little bit more respect on his name, as many fans pointed out.

One dedicated Odenkirk fan decided to spend the rest of their evening shitposting about the snub, with a near endless stream of delightful memes to commemorate the actor’s performance in the series. Odenkirk, please slide into their DMs and let everything know it’s… all good, man.

A throwback meme amidst it as well, as the parodied the famous Oscars moment between La la Land and Moonlight which was the most memorable thing to happen at an awards show until, well, Chris Rock.

Speaking of classic awards show moments, the inevitable Kanye West and Taylor Swift meme came up very quickly.

The actor himself was gracious in defeat, putting a tweet out of him with his partner enjoying the ceremony and praising all those he has worked with over the last eight years of production on Better Call Saul.

Odenkirk won’t have another chance to win an Emmy for the role, with the series having just wrapped up. Fans can continue to rewatch Odenkirk and all of Better Call Saul and parent show Breaking Bad on AMC and Paramount Plus.

As the world slowly moves on from the shock cancelation of Batgirl by Warner Bros. Discovery, Michael Keaton has questioned if the studio has made the best business decision.

Right off the bat of winning a Grammy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role in Dopesick, Keaton was asked about the mysterious cancelation of Batgirl by Variety. Intended to see a return of Keaton in the role of Batman from the 1989 movie, but it’s now doomed to be vaporware.

“I think it was a business decision. I’m going to assume it was a good one. I really don’t know” Keaton told the outlet, before elaborating on his future as Batman, and if we will see him again outside of his confirmed appearance in The Flash next year.

“A little later tonight, probably, if you’re lucky enough. We’ll see, It was great. It was fun. I really have no idea.”.

Keaton’s acceptance speech for his Emmy win saw him dedicate it to his parents for accepting his love of the arts, despite them “never being patrons of the arts”.

We weren’t patrons of anything, frankly. But I want to thank them. I just want to thank all those people in my family for never making me feel foolish, because I went on to do that several times myself. That’s the thing about feeling foolish and making a fool of yourself and making mistakes, there’s huge power and merit in that. I’m glad I made a fool of myself over and over and over again.”

Batgirl continues to remain a sore spot for HBO Max, but the blow has seen undoubtedly softened with many of their series getting awards at the 2022 Emmys, with The White Lotus sweeping up plenty of nominations and wins.

There is always controversy at any awards show, and this time comedian Jimmy Kimmel may have taken a gag a little too far, and people on the internet are mad that his “bit” took the limelight away from award winner Quinta Brunson. But let’s back this up a little and talk about what happened.

Will Arnett and Kimmel were presenting the award for best writing in a comedy series, with the two taking the “comedy” part of the award seriously. Arnett dragged a seemingly ed-out Kimmel onto the stage and said that this is the “13th time in a row that he’s lost and he just got into the skinny margaritas back there.” Kimmel had previously just lost the award for Outstanding Variety Talk Series which went to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. However, after Brunson was announced the winner for her ABC series Abbott Elementary Kimmel remained onstage throughout her entire acceptance speech.

Though Arnett tried to push his body out of the way Kimmel didn’t budge, even after Brunson said, “Jimmy, wake up. I won.” The talk show host merely gave her a thumbs up and stayed exactly where he was until her speech ended and Arnett had to drag him back offstage.

Brunson has spoken out about the now infamous moment in question, telling reporters, “I know Jimmy Kimmel, and I don’t know, felt like the bit didn’t bother me that much, I don’t know what the internet is going to think.” Brunson did talk about her love for Kimmel and how he has ed her in the past but is unsure how she will feel once the dizzy high of the night wears off.

“I think in that moment, I was just really happy that it was Jimmy up there. I kind of consider him one of the comedy godfathers; I’m a huge fan of Will Arnett, so I was wrapped up in the moment. I don’t know — tomorrow maybe I’ll be mad at him. I’m gonna be on his show on Wednesday, so I might punch him in the face. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”

Well, the internet does have something to say about Kimmel’s antics, and it’s not positive.

Brunson is only the second Black woman to win this award and many felt Kimmel’s presence there took away from her time to shine.

Brunson shouldn’t have had to step over him to receive her award.

Many felt it detracted from the writer’s moment.

Brunson has worked hard to get where she is, and Kimmel’s “act” of lying on the ground does not seem to acknowledge that.

Many are pissed at Kimmel and believe she should have moved well, well out of the way.

We will have to wait and see on Wednesday when Brunson is a guest on his show as to how she deals with the host’s action from tonight, and whether or not a punch in the face is actually on the cards or whether Kimmel will apologize profusely enough that we can all move on.
