One of the more compelling aspects of romance as a film genre is how it can leverage the parasocial attachment between the public and the celebrities they ire. This to say, if you look at a movie like Anyone But You — the rom-com sleeper hit from 2023 — it’s easy to trace its box office success back to the fact that it stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell; two high-profile movie stars that you can casually hang out with and observe the attractiveness of, per rom-com parameters.

This is one of the tools in We Live in Time‘s bag of tricks, given its pairing of Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield of Black Widow and Spider-Man fame, but it has a lot more going for it than two popular, in-demand thespians kissing each other. One of those things is its current prominence on the Max charts.

Per FlixPatrol, We Live in Time is living it up at the top of Max’s film charts in the United States at the time of writing, beating out a quartet of Final Destination films in the rankings (namely, the first, second, third, and fifth entries in the franchise, which occupy the charts’ second, fourth, sixth, and fifth placements, respectively).

Elsewhere, Noah Wyle continues to dazzle audiences in The Pitt, which is enjoying its own spell atop the United States’ Max television rankings at the time of writing. Wyle, who portrays the show’s lead character Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, already has quite the medical drama prestige thanks to his time as John Carter on ER. That performance earned him nominations for three Golden Globes and five Emmy Awards.

We Live in Time stars Pugh and Garfield as Almut and Tobias, two thirty-somethings whose decade-long relationship is tracked from the moment of their first meeting, all the way to life after cancer takes Almut from Tobias and their daughter.

The film’s defining characteristic is its non-linear narrative, which causes us to jump around the timeline of Tobias’ and Almut’s relationship. This serves to highlight the relationship we all have to time, and how we primarily experience it through our most emotionally powerful memories, rather than those that most recently occurred.

This furthermore encourages viewers to consider how important it is to create the most meaningful memories possible, which is additionally emphasized by our early knowledge that Almut is going to die at the end of the film. This knowledge forces this family to carefully consider what they’re going to do with their extremely limited time together.

The emotional goal of We Live in Time, then, is to help us realize that our time on Earth — cancer or no cancer — is fundamentally limited, and so the best use of that time involves creating as much beauty as we can with one another. That’s a story worth exposing oneself to, even if you flock to it for no other reason than wanting to see Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield do the kissy-kissy.

What’s with the Demi Moore-Andrew Garfield romance rumors? Fans weigh in after ‘flirty’ interaction at the Golden Globes goes viral https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/whats-with-the-demi-moore-andrew-garfield-romance-rumors-fans-weigh-in-after-flirty-interaction-at-the-golden-globes-goes-viral/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/whats-with-the-demi-moore-andrew-garfield-romance-rumors-fans-weigh-in-after-flirty-interaction-at-the-golden-globes-goes-viral/#respond Tue, 21 Jan 2025 14:04:53 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1826907 Which episode of 'Cougar Town' is this, again?]]>

“She likes them young!” That’s what some social media s said after Demi Moore and Andrew Garfield were spotted sharing some very flirty moments at the Golden Globes early this year. The rumor mill has been busy churning out wishful thinking and speculation-inducing reports since then, and now many people still want answers and confirmation that the two are a thing, and it just wasn’t some sort of a fluke.

This hullabaloo started when Garfield, 41, was caught on camera inaudibly telling the 62-year-old Hollywood star something while kissing her hands amid the busy crowd at the function hall. Moore’s face was not visible in the shot, but she seemed to be intently listening to Garfield as they looked at each other eye to eye. The clip was one of the moments that went viral online amidst the celebrations after the awards show.

It’s been two weeks since then, but the curious interaction between the two actors continues to boggle the minds of fans and casual social media s alike. Adding to their confusion are the reports claiming something is going on between them. For instance, celebrity gossip source DeuxMoi shared an anonymous tip via Instagram Stories claiming that Garfield has been staying at Moore’s house in Sun Valley, Idaho.

In the wake of the speculations, many took to X to weigh in on the potential romance between the Amazing Spider-Man actor and the first-time Golden Globe winner. One fan was seemingly rooting for Garfield and Moore to date by writing on X, “Please make this happen!” Another chimed in, saying, “That would have to go down as one of the biggest upgrades in history.” Garfield was most recently linked to social justice activist, Dr. Kate Tomas, while Moore’s last boyfriend was Swiss chef Daniel Humm.

Since Garfield and Moore are both currently single, many hope they will indeed take the risk and start a romance with each other. However, some criticized the 21-year age difference between the two, with one even arguing that Moore’s too old: “Why the hell is everyone ‘shipping’ Andrew Garfield and Demi Moore? That man wants children — not gonna happen with her“.

However, other s quickly pointed out they could just do “casual dating.” Someone else also noted that Garfield himself has already itted that he no longer wants to have children. Last October, the actor told Esquire in an interview that he’s already “a tired guy” and so, he no longer wants “to be a tired dad.”

Explaining his resolve not to enter fatherhood, Garfield said that it’s tough to raise a child, and it’s all the more challenging given his status as a public personality. “Bringing new life into the context of my life, there’s a heavy burden there,” he said. It was not the first time he spoke about not wanting to be a father either. When he reached 40 in 2022, he told GQ: “Releasing myself from the societal obligation of procreating by the time I’m 40 has been an interesting thing to do with myself.”

Being with Moore pretty much spares him from all the “starting a family” questions. But then again, there’s still no confirmation if he’s indeed dating The Substance star. As for Moore, she wouldn’t have a hard time navigating married life with a much younger man. She married her ex-husband, Ashton Kutcher, when he was 25, while she was 40, in 2005. They were husband and wife for six years before divorcing in 2011.

‘It’s really good’: Andrew Garfield dishes on reality TV obsession and which shows he can’t resist https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/its-really-good-andrew-garfield-dishes-on-reality-tv-obsession-and-which-shows-he-cant-resist/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/its-really-good-andrew-garfield-dishes-on-reality-tv-obsession-and-which-shows-he-cant-resist/#respond Mon, 06 Jan 2025 11:36:49 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1819947 We aren't the only ones hooked on reality TV.]]>

We all secretly love binging on reality shows, and Andrew Garfield is fully on board, sharing his favorite guilty pleasures. The 41-year-old English actor recently sat down with W Magazine to discuss his movie with Florence Pugh, We Live in Time, as well as other interesting topics.

Amid the conversation, interviewer Lynn Hirshberg asked Garfield what his favorite reality show was, and boy did he get excited. He said his favorite show at the moment is the British version of The Traitors, which is based on the Dutch series De Verraders. The U.S. version, hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, is gearing up for its third season, while the British version just began its third season on Jan. 1.

The show follows a group of contestants working together to complete challenges while trying to uncover the “traitors” in their midst to win the prize money. Meanwhile, the “traitors” must outwit the “faithfuls” to stay in the game. “I love the American version, but the British version, with Claudia Winkleman, is the greatest. I don’t know if there’s a better television show that’s ever been made,” Garfield said. That’s not all, however, as the actor also loves one particular provocative show on Netflix that he can’t get enough of.

Andrew Garfield calls Too Hot to Handle “beautiful”

My guilty pleasure is Too Hot to Handle on Netflix. F**k, it’s really good,” Garfield says. His excitement over the reality series was evident as he eagerly discussed the show, looking giddy and laughing while doing animated hand gestures. “They’re just horny, hot people — but wait, this is where the twist happens,” Garfield said as he explained the premise of the show.

Too Hot to Handle premiered on Netflix in 2020 and its sixth season aired in 2024. In it, a group of men and women are challenged to make deeper connections by banning sexual activities, solo or otherwise. Breaking the rules results in deductions from the prize money, which tests their self-control and emotional growth. However, the contestants don’t know that they are on Too Hot to Handle until it is revealed in the first episode. Prior to that, they assume they’re on a dating reality show like Love Island where they’ll be free to be physical with love connections. “The competition is run by this Alexa kind of robot, and she tells them, ‘You’ve all been selected because you are terrified of intimacy,” the actor said.

Despite the raunchy nature of the show, Garfield said that it’s amazing to see the contestants overcome their traumas and learn more about why they are averse to meaningful and emotional relationships. “And it becomes a very beautiful thing,” he said.

Garfield seems to love his reality shows, so much so that he participated in one. The actor was a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 1 in 2019, and in 2023, he expressed his desire to return. Furthermore, he said he “would love to get in drag” but said the show wouldn’t be the place where it happens, but if it does he’d sure kill it in a lip-sync battle as evidenced by his show-stopping performance at the “Werq the World” tour in 2017.

‘I’m gonna disappoint you’: No, Andrew Garfield will not appear in ‘Spider-Man 4’, but can he be trusted? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/marvel/im-gonna-disappoint-you-no-andrew-garfield-will-not-appear-in-spider-man-4-but-can-he-be-trusted/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/marvel/im-gonna-disappoint-you-no-andrew-garfield-will-not-appear-in-spider-man-4-but-can-he-be-trusted/#respond Mon, 06 Jan 2025 08:01:14 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1819789 “No one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”]]>

Despite widespread rumors to the contrary, Andrew Garfield has now denied that he’ll appear in the fourth installment of Marvel’s Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise.

The actor — who played Peter Parker in Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man series before reprising the role in Marvel’s No Way Home — discussed the possibility of donning the spider suit once more in a recent interview with GQ UK. Garfield has remained tight-lipped about his involvement in the franchise ever since ing Tobey Maguire in the multiverse-jumping No Way Home, but his new comments go some way in explaining what we can expect of him in regards to Spider-Man 4.

When asked whether he had already signed on to appear in the sequel — which we already know will star Holland and Zendaya — the actor preempted fans’ sadness, saying “I’m gonna disappoint you.” He then revealed that “no,” he hasn’t yet been confirmed to appear in Spider-Man 4, adding that “no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.” That last part is in reference to Garfield’s notorious 2021 interviews in which he consistently denied speculation of a cameo in No Way Home only to appear on the big screen upon its eventual release.

While the comments might come to the dismay of Marvel stans eager to see Garfield in the anticipated four-quel, it’s worth ing that the actor was responding to whether he had signed on to the project, not whether he had been ruled out of an appearance altogether. It’s also worth noting that, as was the case in 2021 and as pointed out by the actor himself, Garfield is likely sworn to secrecy around any hard confirmation of his casting, such is the iron-clad contractual obligation of Marvel Studios.

In any case, Garfield didn’t rule out the possibility of an appearance in the film on a personal level, saying he would agree to portray the web-slinger “if it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun.” Beyond the fun, the actor also said he would accept the role with an eye on the money-making potential it could secure for his future. “Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point,” Garfield said, “and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something.”

It comes amid a flurry of speculation as to whether Spider-Man 4 will enlist the Peter Parkers’ of yore for the new entry, with a supposed and unconfirmed leak claiming in November that Garfield will return to the franchise alongside Michael Keaton as Vulture and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Before that, he reiterated in October that he would be open to reprising the role, and again fueled rumors after flashing a web-slinging hand gesture on the red carpet. Garfield isn’t the only actor whom fans have wishfully attached to Spider-Man 4, with the names of both Maguire and Emma Stone (who played Gwen Stacey opposite Garfield) floating around ahead of the film’s scheduled 2026 release.

More broadly, we know that both Holland and Zendaya have read the scripts for the film, and they’ll have to juggle their filming schedules with their concurrent roles in Christopher Nolan’s new movie. More recently, Spider-Man 4 producer Amy Pascal revealed last month that the film will focus on the title character “being Spider-Man, because being Peter Parker was too hard.”

Andrew Garfield put on a pair of glasses at the Golden Globes and the internet immediately broke https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/andrew-garfield-put-on-a-pair-of-glasses-at-the-golden-globes-and-the-internet-immediately-broke/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/andrew-garfield-put-on-a-pair-of-glasses-at-the-golden-globes-and-the-internet-immediately-broke/#respond Mon, 06 Jan 2025 04:16:59 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1819830 Oh, Andrew, the heartthrob you are!]]>

Putting one’s glasses on is a simple, unassuming gesture, but when delivered by heartthrob Andrew Garfield, it’s one that sends the internet into a tailspin of thirst.

The actor did just that while appearing at this year’s Golden Globes ceremony. Granted, Garfield, the man he is, could probably do something as innocuous as tie his shoelaces and the Twittersphere would lose its mind, but this particular thirst trap at the starry awards show appears to have hit differently among legions of ogling fans. While he wasn’t nominated for his work in We Live In Time (the injustice!), Garfield appeared at the ceremony to present an award alongside Kerry Washington.

That all sounds simple enough, and Garfield might not have been at the tip of everyone’s tongues were it not for the suave maneuver he delivered as Washington completed her preamble. In one fell swoop, the actor looked directly into the camera, effortlessly put on his spectacles, and bit his lip. Add in an unbuttoned shirt and the fact that it’s Andrew Garfield and you’ve got a recipe for thirst so unadulterated that not even an ocean could quench it. I’d say even Garfield would be surprised by the fan reaction, but at this point — between his recent W Magazine cover and that swoonworthy Chicken Shop Date appearance — the actor knows exactly what he’s doing.

He had even planted the seeds earlier in the evening when he stepped out on the red carpet in an olive green Gucci suit with David Yurman jewellery, with those lustful specs out on full display. “I am NOT WELL,” one X wrote in response to Garfield’s Golden Globes appearance, with another declaring that they “need a thr**some with Andrew Garfield and his reading glasses.” Elsewhere, fans pushed aside John Krasinski to instead name Garfield the “sexiest man alive” and joked that the actor’s “reading glasses just received a 55 minute standing ovation from me in my bedroom.”

What all of it amounts to is the realization that if there were a Golden Globes category for turning the algorithm into a sizzling hot compilation of yearning stans, Garfield would take home the trophy, then secure his nomination for next year during his bespectacled acceptance speech. In any case, Garfield is certainly accustomed to this kind of fanfare. His aforementioned Chicken Shop Date guest spot has us collectively envious of host Amelia Dimoldenberg, but he also got tongues wagging with another red carpet appearance in of We Live In Time.

In October, the actor went viral for attending the film’s premiere with his co-star Florence Pugh not in human form, but in the form of a life-sized cardboard cut-out. (Asking for a friend, but any chance that cut-out could be edited with my face instead?) Elsewhere, we learned that Garfield’s knack of charming the internet extends well beyond his acting years, with his baby photos sending fans into a downright tizzy and leaving them with an unbridled case of baby fever

While Garfield successfully pulled focus, the Golden Globes ceremony was brimming with equally talked-about moments, from Nikki Glaser hilarious opening monologue to Kieran Culkin’s well-deserved win for his role in A Real Pain. Even amid all those buzzy takeaways, perhaps the true winner of the night was Garfield, or more accurately… his reading glasses.

‘People are so nasty’: Ryan Reynolds forced to drop his humor as Andrew Garfield is weaponized to insult the actor https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/people-are-so-nasty-ryan-reynolds-forced-to-drop-his-humor-as-andrew-garfield-is-weaponized-to-insult-the-actor/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/people-are-so-nasty-ryan-reynolds-forced-to-drop-his-humor-as-andrew-garfield-is-weaponized-to-insult-the-actor/#respond Sun, 08 Dec 2024 16:26:34 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1806625 "You intentionally hide the stitching and unstitching."]]>

Ryan Reynolds is not just a comedy star but is also renowned for his witty humor in real life. But when faced with a mocking insult at the expense of Andrew Garfield, the actor had no option but to become serious.

Each year, Variety pairs actors together for a filmed chat where they talk about their craft, their experiences in the industry, and all sorts of other things that come up. Called Actors on Actors, it has some interesting pairs — such as an chat between Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds.

That’s one interesting combination, right?

Well, not everyone was happy with the pairing. One X/Twitter took to the platform to offer their opinion on the match in a since-protected tweet, seemingly criticizing the segment’s quality that would be, in their opinion, diminished by a comedy-centric actor like Reynolds talking about his funny roles.

“Andrew Garfield talking about playing a husband and father who’s [sic] wife decides to forgo cancer treatment and Ryan Reynolds talking about playing Deadpool.”

The tweet draws a distinction between comedic acting and dramatic acting, the implication being that the conversation match-up is poor, and while everyone is entitled to an opinion, this is one opinion that didn’t go over well with everyone. Ryan Reynolds himself became aware of the tweet and responded, giving his two cents on the situation, letting the one who posted the polarising criticism and everyone else who agreed with the opinion that comedy isn’t as “effortless” as it looks.

Ryan is quick to praise Andrew’s performance, calling him a “genius.” He then goes on to offer a well-considered defense of comedic acting, saying that both disciplines are difficult — but for different reasons. Dramatic acting is difficult because the audience has to see and feel the work that goes into it, but comedic acting is the exact opposite, where if the audience can see the work that goes into it, it falls flat. Dramatic acting “feels visceral and effective” and it’s because the audience is meant to see the difficulty behind it. In contrast, Reynolds finds comedic acting is “meant to look and feel effortless.”

s on X agreed with Reynolds, taking to the platform to show their . Much of the commentary directly discussed the role of comedy and drama in acting, and the work that goes into each. The claim that comedy was only meant to look easy resonated with s:

While everyone is entitled to free speech, the attempt to mock comedy as a lesser art form and insulting Reynolds in the process didn’t sit right with ardent fans of both the genre and the actor.

https://twitter.com/FolkloreMarTS/status/1865071871126892794

It’s clear the original tweet struck a nerve, for both Ryan Reynolds and many comedy enthusiasts. Ryan’s response underlines just how much the actor has thought about his craft, from the emotion required to sell a joke to the behind-the-scenes work necessary to put all the parts together. As always, art is subjective. People enjoy different things. Not everything has to be for everyone, and it’s fair to prefer drama to comedy or action thrillers to cozy mysteries.

While it’s fair to have an opinion, it doesn’t seem right to use one actor to attack another — especially in the context of Actors on Actors. Sometimes, the juxtaposition in experience is fertile ground for an interesting and engaging conversation, with differences in perspective adding depth to a conversation. Where there are similarities, they can be discussed; where there are differences, they can be explored. This is a vital point that the original tweet apparently failed to consider but was addressed beautifully by Ryan’s response.

Just so you know, Andrew Garfield is teaming up with ‘Bridgerton’ and ‘Baby Reindeer’ stars to climb a magic tree https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/movies/just-so-you-know-andrew-garfield-is-teaming-up-with-bridgerton-and-baby-reindeer-stars-to-climb-a-magic-tree/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/movies/just-so-you-know-andrew-garfield-is-teaming-up-with-bridgerton-and-baby-reindeer-stars-to-climb-a-magic-tree/#respond Thu, 07 Nov 2024 15:53:22 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1785738 Complete with a peppering of 'Paddington.' ]]>

That’s right, folks; Andrew Garfield is officially quitting acting and has assembled a ragtag posse of fellow British thespians (and Nicola Coughlan) to break into the budding occult arborist industry. And if you believe that, I have a Spider-Man 4 rumor to sell you.

Indeed, folks, what’s actually happening is that Garfield will be headlining an all-star cast with one Claire Foy in The Magic Faraway Tree, an film based on Enid Blyton’s children’s novels of the same name. Alongside Garfield and Foy, the Ben Gregor-directed fantasy flick will star Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton), Jessica Gunning (Baby Reindeer), Nonso Anozie (Sweet Tooth), Rebecca Ferguson, and Michael Palin. Between big-screen stars, Netflix hotshots, and living legends, it’s an extraordinary gathering indeed.

Written by Simon Farnaby (whose collaborative scripts with Paul King have brought us the likes of Paddington 2 and Wonka), The Magic Faraway Tree follows a family who are struggling to connect with one another after being forced to relocate to the British countryside. They come to discover a magical tree in their new home, and when they climb it, they’re transported to worlds beyond their wildest imagination.

Blyton’s novels were published from 1939 to 1951, while other authors have written titles in the series as late as 2023. The books center on three children, Jo, Bessie, and Fanny, who climb the Faraway Tree to see which land is currently occupying the top of the tree. Each land moves away to make space for the incoming land, and so if they don’t leave by the time the lands finish moving, they’ll be trapped until the land they’re on swings back around to the Faraway Tree.

The other twist is that sometimes the lands are good, and sometimes they aren’t. The Land of Goodies — where everything is made of chocolate and candy and other such scrumptious indulgences — would be an example of the good, whereas the Land of Dame Slap — which houses a schoolteacher named Dame Slap who slaps you — would be an example of the bad (unless that’s what you’re into; I’m not judging).

Garfield and Claire will be portraying leading characters named Polly and Tim Thompson, who are either husband-and-wife or brother-and-sister. What’s curious, however, is that The Magic Faraway Tree is, by all appearances, a live-action movie, and yet the only child among the cast seems to be one Billie Gadson (Cruella, Here). Could this be a Harold and the Purple Crayon situation where the main characters in a film based on a children’s book with children protagonists, are adults?

Mind you, the level of tried-and-true talent involved with this production suggests that even if it is, it won’t be done in a way that manifests as a creative faceplant, especially given Gregor’s words to The Hollywood Reporter about the approach to this film: “What you gotta do is just treat young people as sensible adults.”

In any case, we won’t be able to see the fruits of these artists’ labors for ourselves for quite a bit yet, as the film only finished confirming its cast back in August. But with all those names piled into your cast, plus the fact that this movie is for families, those tickets are as good as sold.

Dev Patel and Andrew Garfield share the same brand of charm: undeniably attractive, undeniably talented men who are not on social media and only ever show their faces around public events when they have a movie or television show to promote. So, when they got together at this year’s LACMA Art + Film Gala, hearts naturally exploded.

Some were more direct, begging “I want to be in between them,” while others got creative with their reactions. “Lookalike contest for both of them in my room,” one fan cheekily suggested, referencing the recent Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest that drew the man himself to New York’s Washington Square Park last week.

Challengers with me in the middle, please,” said another, this time alluding to Luca Guadagnino’s 2024 smash-hit film starring Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor as a pseudo throuple. “They can both make a movie in my bedroom,” a fourth hopeful proposed. Geez, someone get these people an ice bath.

The most common response, however, involved a world-famous monument from a beloved European capital, that may be a little too unsafe for work to include in this article. On the other hand, it’s called the city of love for a reason.

2024 was a big year for Garfield and Patel…

… And not just because they looked hot in a picture together (though that certainly didn’t hurt). These two elusive Brits were both in Los Angeles on Sunday to celebrate the year’s achievements in art, film, fashion, and entertainment because they, too, conquered 2024.

Patel made a stunning directorial debut in April with his immensely rich thriller Monkey Man, where he played a revenge-driven underground fighter looking for the men who took everything from him — and, yes, looked ravishing while doing it, too. Garfield, meanwhile, returned from a three-year break from the silver screen (he led the true crime limited drama series Under the Banner of Heaven in 2022) to star opposite fellow British smoke show Florence Pugh in the romance drama We Live In Time. The word “gorgeous” aptly describes both his performance and his looks in the film. No wonder everyone has been begging Hollywood to put either of these men in a rom-com for years.

Both men opted to wear Gucci to last night’s soirée, as the Italian luxury brand is LACMA’s long-time partner. Garfield was styled by Warren Alfie Baker in a look reminiscent of the Gucci white-hemmed burgundy pantsuit he wore to last year’s gala, while Patel was dolled up by Chanel makeup artist Tasha Reiko Brown.

Though the two men have never shared the screen before, they came up together in England and Hollywood and have become two of the most underrated actors of their generation, both with Oscar, BAFTA, and Golden Globe nods under their belts. And while Monkey Man and We Live In Time might not be the films that finally secure Patel and Garfield’s Academy Awards, they were an unquestionable treat for their fans as both actors got to show a different side to their talents in swoon-worthy performances.

Judging by the reactions that a simple photo of the two heartthrobs together can cause, we fear they may actually break the internet if they ever forces for a project. It’s a good thing neither of them cares about that side of the world anyway.

‘Spider-Man 4’ leak might just tell us everything we need to know about Tom Holland’s Marvel return https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/movies/spider-man-4-leak-might-just-tell-us-everything-we-need-to-know-about-tom-hollands-marvel-return/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/movies/spider-man-4-leak-might-just-tell-us-everything-we-need-to-know-about-tom-hollands-marvel-return/#respond Fri, 01 Nov 2024 21:47:51 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1781315 Spider-Man: Revisiting Home]]>

You might think that the most anticipated MCU movie on the horizon is Avengers: Doomsday, featuring Robert Downey Jr.’s return after five years, but it seems that most of the scuttlebutt these days centers around the next Spider-Man, which will mark the fourth entry in the Tom Holland-led offshoot.

There was a time when we weren’t even sure if there would be more Spider-Man flicks in the MCU, so the fact that these films get greenlit years before production even begins is a blessing to many fans. Moreover, the next Spider-Man has been rumored to feature anything from iconic villains to the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield and even Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. As much as Avengers: Doomsday feels fan-servicey and compulsive, the next Spider-Man is fit to bursting with exciting possibilities, character and narrative-wise.

Now, a new document leak on social media is giving the game away in full. We always take these reports with a grain of salt, but you should probably stop reading right now in case it turns out to be real.

Still here? Then check out the leaked premise here:

“Following the events of Doomsday, Peter Parker is determine to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping back from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his Spider-Man identity and finds himself teaming up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves. Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man), Michael Keaton (Vulture), and Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom) mentioned to the cast.”

There’s practically no telling whether this is legitimate, but the overall plot is as generic as they come these days from Marvel Studios, eh? What do you suppose happens after Doomsday that compels Parker to retire his superhero persona like Tobey Maguire briefly did in Spider-Man 2? Speaking of whom, why doesn’t this mention Maguire as a potential cast member? Sure, Andrew Garfield deserves another go as Spider-Man since he never got his own third film, but it wouldn’t do to snub Maguire now, not after he’s already made a comeback in No Way Home. As for that unlikely ally, we’re betting that it’s Doctor Doom. Tom Holland’s friendly neighborhood webhead and RDJ as a villain, forced to work together against a common foe, might sound incredibly hackneyed and banal at this point, but ing their dynamic from the old days gives us a measure of furtive hype.

Then again, the premise as a whole is cliché, with fans praying that it’s just another one of a thousand ridiculous rumors floating around on the internet.

By the way, did you catch that title? Spider-Man: Brand New Day doesn’t exactly follow the formula established by the previous three movies. It could be a placeholder, but it might also indicate that the movie is going to loosely adapt the events of the Brave New Day comic series, depicted in the issues 546 to 564 in The Amazing Spider-Man.

At this point, I’m starting to think Marvel Studios is intentionally leaking all of these plot rumors to gauge audience reactions. If that’s the case, it’s the strangest process of elimination I’ve ever seen attempted by a studio.

‘Looks like he liked to bite’: These reactions to Andrew Garfield’s baby picture are WILD https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/looks-like-he-liked-to-bite-these-reactions-to-andrew-garfields-baby-picture-are-wild/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/looks-like-he-liked-to-bite-these-reactions-to-andrew-garfields-baby-picture-are-wild/#respond Wed, 23 Oct 2024 19:43:17 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1773849 What a cutie!]]>

Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh ed Julian Shapiro-Barnum on his new YouTube show Celebrity Substitute to teach kids how to act. We knew this was going to be epic, but we were not ready for how adorable their baby pictures would be. While Florence looks like the smiliest girl in the world, Andrew is a near-carbon copy of fellow British actor and infamous eternal-baby-face-posesser Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

The mischievous look on baby Andrew’s face also convinced people that he used to bite as a child, which, according to Stanford Children’s Health, is actually quite common. It can either be experimental, as toddlers discover the world around them, or out of frustration. “Until they learn how to play cooperatively, they may respond to the demands of other children by hitting or biting,” its website says. Tell us, Andrew, was that you?

Further down the list of devilish things the internet thinks Andrew Garfield did as a child, judging by a single baby picture, are telling his enemies that his father would have them expelled from school and selling his entire family for a Turkish delight.

“Andrew garfield looks like he play soccer with wounded knees and muddy shoes, then goes to his little adventure to collect insect [sic],” was one person’s very precise description. Our favorite, however, was the man who said he looked like “a conservative Yorkshire woman in her early 70s.” I think this would woman would be named Susan, don’t ask me why.

Although it was the most common, Thomas Brodie-Sangster wasn’t the only celebrity comparison, either. One fan could see traces of Andrew’s famous ex-girlfriend Emma Stone in his school portrait, while another had a very specific combo in mind. “Why does baby andrew garfield look like if mikey day and andrew dismukes had a baby,” they commented.

We don’t know whether Andrew was a biter or really any of these things. What we do know is that he grew up middle-class in suburbs south of London and that he was “obsessed with ’80s movies.” He told USA Today in 2008 that his favorites were Michael J. Fox’s Teen Wolf and Back to the Future, and John Hughes’ movies (the likes of Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).

From a young age, Andrew was more sensitive and attuned to art than most of his classmates, and got bullied for it. He has opened up in the past about “one guy in the playground wanting to pick on someone and seeing the super-skinny, sensitive kid.” The harassment, the twice Oscar-nominated actor says, helped him look for an escape and eventually find the craft that would become his life’s mission. “Strangely, I’m grateful for the bullying I experienced. Being a skinny, sensitive young man means that I found acting,” he told Time Out in 2014. He also found Spider-Man comics.

As cheeky as he might have looked, it sounds like baby Andrew was just trying to mind his own business, read his comics, and watch his favorite movies. And we think he’s made that kid quite proud.

‘Amateurs, man’: Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh filmed a movie with schoolchildren and it did not go as planned https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/amateurs-man-andrew-garfield-and-florence-pugh-filmed-a-movie-with-schoolchildren-and-it-did-not-go-as-planned/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/amateurs-man-andrew-garfield-and-florence-pugh-filmed-a-movie-with-schoolchildren-and-it-did-not-go-as-planned/#respond Wed, 23 Oct 2024 17:14:43 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1773855 And it's all the better for it.]]>

We Live in Time, A24’s new romantic drama starring British screen powerhouses Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, has spent the last handful of weeks expanding to more and more theaters since its limited debut on Oct. 11. Garfield and Pugh themselves have been doing some expanding as well, albeit in a manner that’s as unusual as it is wholesome.

Indeed, the pair recently found themselves as the collective patient zero of Celebrity Substitute, a brand new YouTube initiative hosted by Recess Therapy‘s Julian Shapiro-Barnum, wherein celebrities are summoned to a classroom to act as substitute teachers for the day.

Appropriately enough, the Marvel stars were put in charge of an elementary-age drama class at S.T.A.R. Academy P.S. 63 with the goal of completing a short film or four, and it of course goes without saying that these tots will be coming for their jobs in the blink of an eye.

The ordeal kicks off with Pugh and Garfield meeting the students, most of whom are too young to be entranced by the fact of their celebrity, but precisely young enough to get very excited when Pugh reveals she voiced Goldilocks in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Project number one in the Pugh-Garfield-Schoolchildren Cinematic Universe is Creature of the Night; a stupendously Hitchcockian suspense thriller starring Pugh and her incandescent co-star Destiny. In the film, Pugh’s heart is pounding with fear when mysterious noises start coming from the outdoors, despite Destiny’s reassurance that everything is perfectly fine. Directed by Garfield, Creature of the Night also stars Shapiro-Barnum as “The Neighbor,” although reports of his on-set clash with Garfield has led to rumors about a potential recast.

Up next was Fired!, starring Garfield, Shapiro-Barnum, and Paige, the latter of whom is already being touted for the Golden Globe for her performance as Andrew’s Loose Cannon Former Employer. In the film, Garfield is let go from a non-descript line of work after 30 years of loyalty; the heartbreaking narrative springboard for director Pugh’s ruthless takedown of the capitalist hell around us.

Then came Lady Loan, based on a yet-unproduced screenplay by Martin Scorsese, probably. Actors Asher and Lemon star alongside Pugh’s titular loan shark, who agrees to loan them money so long as they host a birthday party for her unborn daughter at their local restaurant, which they agree to. The cashflow stays strong and the boss stays happy; it’s a win-win!

Capping it off was the Endgame-level event of Uninvited, starring Andrew Garfield and Jeremiah as a pair of estranged friends who wind up clashing on of Jeremiah keeping Andrew away from his birthday party. As more and more revelations — ranging from bullies to broken legs to ugly shirts — come to light, it will take a miracle for this particular brotherhood to survive. Ms. Laird, the teacher who Pugh and Garfield are substituting for, makes a cameo appearance as Ms. Laird, who the fandom believes will be the protagonist of Phase Two.

A post-credits scene reveals that S.T.A.R. Academy P.S. 63 went on to receive a bulk of school supplies and resources supplied by Amazon in hopes of allowing Pugh’s and Garfield’s new up-and-coming contemporaries to have as rich an arts education as possible. Many critics agreed that this was the highlight of the whole franchise.

Oh my actual god, these baby photos of Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh are going to make you squeal https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/oh-my-actual-god-these-baby-photos-of-andrew-garfield-and-florence-pugh-are-going-to-make-you-squeal/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/oh-my-actual-god-these-baby-photos-of-andrew-garfield-and-florence-pugh-are-going-to-make-you-squeal/#respond Wed, 23 Oct 2024 09:19:09 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1773564 The pictures prove they were destined for stardom. ]]>

We’ve been treated to a newer, cuter perspective of Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh, after viral images of the stars as toddlers have gone viral on social media.

The pair have been busy promoting their new film, We Live In Time, which has earned rave reviews and has already spawned multiple viral moments. One of these arrived on the red carpet of the London premiere of the film, where Garfield appeared alongside Pugh not in person, but in the form of a life-sized cardboard cut-out (because Pugh was away shooting another project).

Then, we got all in our feels when viral footage at the premiere showed Garfield giving a big hug to the actress (jealous!) who portrays his daughter in We Live In Time, sending ovaries into overdrive all across the country. Now, the film’s two leads have yet again captured our attention with these adorable pre-fame (and probably pre-school) pictures of themselves as youngsters.

For her part, lil’ Pugh (a great name for a rapper, but I digress), sports a big grin and a red headband, and with big blue eyes that haven’t become any less piercing all these years later. Garfield, meanwhile, delivers an even cuter version of Boss Baby completed with a blazer and necktie. I wonder if these little toddlers knew they’d go on to star in Marvel blockbusters, or whether they were just wondering when their next nap time was.

Naturally, it wasn’t long before fans flocked to the viral post to relish in the cuteness overlord, with one gushing, “oh my goodness they were so adorable.” The past tense ‘were’ makes sense given how old the photos are, but many would agree that both Pugh and Garfield are still adorable, and these pictures are just the blueprint of camera-ready status.

“Wow, pure cuteness!,” one wrote, while another adopted baby-talk to share their reaction: “Staap literally smol babies.” One throughline in the responses was Pugh’s uncanny resemblance to Rapunzel, a character that fans have long been demanding the actress portray if a Disney live-action remake ever materializes.

Given the House of Mouse’s veering-on-tiresome trend of remaking their classics (Snow White, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King…), Disney could very well greenlight Rapunzel, and Pugh could just show these baby pictures instead of auditioning. “Omg Flo looks like Rapunzel so cute,” one fan wrote.

The baby version of Garfield, meanwhile, was said to look like Love Actually and Game of Thrones star Thomas Sangster, as well as the actor who actually portrayed young Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man. Speaking of the MCU, both Garfield and Pugh recently did a t interview discussing which of their hero characters would win in a fight, but the only thing their baby versions are fighting over is who could out-cute the other.

With these source images provided, now we just need artificial intelligence to do its thing and show us what Pugh and Garfield’s baby would look like. I’m going out on a limb here, but we can safely assume that the baby would somehow be even cuter.
