The last few years have not been the best of Ashton Kutcher‘s normally carefree life. First, he got dragged into the shame train that lashed out at him and his wife, actress Mila Kunis, for actively ing convicted sexual ab Danny Masterson, even after his victims had furnished enough evidence. Then came the arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs and his “freak offs” and the long list of rumored celebs who may or may not have been in attendance.

Of course, Kutcher being Kutcher landed in trouble for ing and vocally defending yet another sexual ab long before he faced the heat for writing letters to the judge singing praise of Masterson’s apparently squeaky clean personality and claiming that despite being held guilty of raping two women his friend was not “an ongoing harm to society.” He and Kunis were bashed for their insensitivity towards the victims and for ing a sexual ab. The two apologized, but water was so not under the bridge as they remain subjects of criticism, pushing them to lay low.

Not that it helped since Diddy was arrested next.

As for Diddy, while Kutcher hasn’t come out in his — it looks like someone learned that mistakes have consequences in this world now — he has been a big and rather vocal fan of the rapper’s parties. The actor’s Hot Wings appearance where he hesitated to talk about Diddy’s White parties and responded by saying he knows a lot about them that he can’t talk about hasn’t aged well since his former friend went behind bars.

Now, Kutcher did something akin to his Danny Masterson back in 2011, when celebrities could commit the biggest mistake and stir up a controversy and still walk away scott-free with a lame apology. At the time, head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions, Joe Paterno, was fired after it was discovered he had been protecting and intentionally hiding assistant coach Jerry Sandusky’s reign of sexual abuse of young boys across fifteen years.

“How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste,” Kutcher had written at the time. Did he say that knowingly, aware that he was not-so-indirectly ing a sexual ab Paterno was willingly shielding? At least that’s what the actor said when his tweet provoked an avalanche of hate and criticism for defending the coach. He swiftly deleted his original post, wrote “Heard Joe was fired, fully recant previous tweet!” claimed he didn’t have “full story,” proceeded to delete that as well before posting a more PR style apology.

He added that he felt “awful about this error. Won’t happen again.” Well, as they say, history repeats itself.

Diddy’s ‘homeboy’ Ashton Kutcher itted ‘mindblowingly debauched sexual stuff’ was crux of rapper’s parties https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/diddys-homeboy-ashton-kutcher-itted-mindblowingly-debauched-sexual-stuff-was-crux-of-rappers-parties/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/diddys-homeboy-ashton-kutcher-itted-mindblowingly-debauched-sexual-stuff-was-crux-of-rappers-parties/#respond Sun, 26 Jan 2025 16:19:50 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1828223 Less "open secret," more "common knowledge" - is there anyone who didn't know about what went down?]]>

Disgraced rapper, music producer, and businessman Sean “Diddy” Combs (also known as P. Diddy and Puff Daddy) is embroiled in a criminal scandal of truly massive proportions, as the singer faces multiple civil and criminal suits for alleged crimes and incidents spanning many, many years.

Some of the most shocking allegations come from his so-called “freak off” parties, and Diddy’s deep connections to the Hollywood great and good means that many, many celebrities are caught in the crossfire. Ashton Kutcher was once a firm friend of Combs and has previously itted to there being “a lot” he couldn’t mention about Diddy’s parties. Given everything that has been exposed about these parties, his words seem like a massive understatement.

Speaking to Elle in 2009, Sean Combs gave a sexually charged interview discussing his “sexually precocious” childhood and the adulthood that followed. In the interview, which charts a course through Diddy’s life with constant references to sex and sexualized situations (which feels almost like a foreshadowing of what was to come much later), the interviewer revealed how Kutcher had itted that “mindblowingly debauched sexual stuff” went down at Diddy’s parties.

Combs brushed the statement off with a mock suggestion that as long as it was two guys and two women in the same room at the same, he was fine with whatever his “homeboy” said. Now, at the time, it seemed like an innocent statement, with no one paying much attention to the fact that the rapper didn’t deny Kutcher’s assertion in any way and actually nodded along to the revelation in his effort to dodge confirming it. Of course, we know now that “mindblowingly debauched” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

It’s unclear whether Kutcher was referring to Diddy’s “freak off” parties in this decade-old statement since those are the parties currently at the center of the many, many criminal cases against the rapper. Insiders suggest That ’70s Show star’s ex-wife, actress Demi Moore, shielded him from the worst of the “tempting situations” presented by his friendship with Diddy, with neither Kutcher nor Moore ever attending a “freak off” despite attending some of Diddy’s public-facing, more ordinary parties.

But Kutcher is far from the only celebrity to be implicated in Diddy’s far-reaching scandal. While many are damaged by association, such as Jennifer Lopez, others have been directly named in suits against the music mogul, like the world-famous rapper and hip-hop star Jay-Z. Daniel Baldwin has suggested that celebrities are engaged in a “bidding war” to buy tapes from the parties to prevent themselves from being implicated in the scandal or any alleged crimes, while actor and comedian Jamie Foxx has distanced himself from the scandal by claiming that he “left them parties early.”

The Sean Combs scandal is a Gordian knot in its complexity, with way too many celebrities and public figures implicated by association with the man over his long career. New, even more troubling information about Diddy’s past keeps coming to light, making it impossible to imagine that he will ever walk free. Kutcher’s historic comments add fuel to the fire, but at this point, it’s already a blaze of monumental proportions.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were once the it couple of the early 2000s. But behind their picture-perfect public image, Moore seems to have played a much larger role than just being Ashton’s arm candy.

According to insiders, the Substance actress worked overtime to keep her husband from spiraling into Hollywood’s gnarly party scene—and that meant steering him clear of Diddy’s “freak-offs.” If you don’t know by now, “freak-offs” are allegedly what happens when a hip-hop mogul, a limitless budget, and no boundaries collide. Diddy’s parties were apparently so over-the-top that even the most seasoned Hollywood partiers would have second thoughts. But Ashton Kutcher? He never had the chance because, as one insider told In Touch Weekly, Demi was always two steps ahead.

Moore’s movie roles can deceive. She had a reputation as a sultry starlet in films like Striptease. But Demi has been described as anything but the Hollywood stereotype. “For all the hype around her sexy movie roles of the nineties and the image that came with all of that, Demi is a sexually conservative person who wouldn’t be caught dead at an orgy, and that goes double for the years she was with Ashton,” the insider said.

That same source made it clear that Moore’s love life with Kutcher was “vibrant,” and it didn’t involve any group activities or rubbing elbows with Diddy’s inner circle. “Demi did everything she could to keep Ashton out of compromising and tempting situations, and that definitely kept him away from these crazy situations you’re hearing about in Diddy’s case.”

Ashton and Diddy’s friendship started in the early 2000s, when both were MTV staples—Ashton as the prankster king of Punk’d and Diddy as the maestro of Making the Band. The two quickly became “fast friends,” bonding over football, parties, and presumably the shared belief that they could get away with anything.

For a while, Ashton was Diddy’s wingman, and the duo reportedly tore through clubs with Jamie Foxx as part of their unofficial rat pack. But as Diddy recalled years later, it didn’t last. “One night he was with Demi, maybe for the first time, and a couple of weeks later he called to tell me he was in love. That was the end of our clubbing.” So, Diddy lost a party buddy, but Ashton gained a personal chaperone.

Diddy’s parties are now synonymous with scandal, but Ashton and Moore’s involvement was limited to appearances at his more mainstream events, like the iconic White Parties. But the freakoffs? “Not a chance,” said the insider. “Sure, Demi had to tolerate Ashton’s friendship with a complete low-life like Danny Masterson, but that was a relationship that pre-dated her even meeting Ashton. I don’t think she ever allowed him to get as close to Diddy, with good reason!”

Without Demi’s running interference, who knows where young, impressionable Ashton, could’ve ended up? We wouldn’t go as far as to say that Ashton would be locked up with Diddy. We have to understand that a friendship with Diddy didn’t mean taking part in the “freak-offs.” But assuming that Ashton knew about what Diddy was up to, it’s not that far-fetched.

In hindsight, Demi’s short leash was exactly what Ashton needed during his peak partying years. Sure, the leash might have been too short, but considering the alternative—getting dragged into Hollywood’s most salacious scandals—it’s hard to argue with the results.

Amid the shocking arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, a domino effect is rippling through Hollywood, ensnaring celebrities like Kanye West and his “friends” like Leonardo DiCaprio, Mariah Carey, and Diddy’s long-time friend, Ashton Kutcher who famously attended his parties and didn’t shy from praising them openly.

But the revelation of his ugly past has now trained the spotlight on everyone he was once associated with, and while everyone else is holding their silence, rumor is that Kutcher is silently planning his next move as Diddy’s doom – followed by his massively bashed for Danny Masterson – threatens his reputation as well.

Whispers of an emergency plan have begun to surface, with an insider source claiming that Kutcher and his wife, Mila Kunis, are seriously considering a move to Europe to escape the fallout from the Diddy drama. The source, who spoke to In Touch Weekly, revealed that the couple is fed up with the “superficiality and backbiting” of Hollywood and believes that a fresh start in Europe might be just what they need. Interestingly, the couple spent their summer in Europe, even taking their children to night two of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour at London’s Wembley Stadium in June. Coincidence? The internet is abuzz with speculation.

However, the source also noted that work commitments might be the only obstacle preventing the couple from making the leap across the pond. “They still have a lot of business interests in the U.S., so the concern is that Europe may be too far away,” the insider revealed.

If a transatlantic move proves too daunting, the source suggests that Ashton, 46, has his sights set on another potential haven: Northern California. According to the source, the actor is drawn to the region’s tech entrepreneur scene and believes it could offer a more “normal” life for their children. If these rumors are true, it’s not hard to see why Kutcher is considering such a drastic change. As a once-dedicated partygoer, like Mariah Carey and Usher, it is widely speculated that apart from attending his “White Parties,” Kutcher might also have attended Diddy’s infamous “freak-offs”— days-long, drug-fuelled events where victims allegedly performed sex acts. These parties have now come under renewed scrutiny following Kutcher’s old comments.

In a 2019 interview on the chicken wing-eating show, Hot Ones, Kutcher spoke about his association with Diddy, giggling as he recalled memories from attending the rapper’s parties. When pressed for details, he coyly replied, “there’s a lot I can’t tell.” Well, that’s not suspicious at all. s on social media were quick to erupt in righteous outrage over Kutcher’s tone-deaf comments, particularly in light of the fact that last year, he and his wife faced blistering backlash for ing  ’70s Show co-star Danny Masterson, who was convicted of rape.

It’s crucial to note that, at the time of writing of this article, there is no official confirmation that Kutcher and Kunis are indeed hatching a plan to flee the country. These are merely tantalizing rumors, and similar whispers have been swirling around for Leonardo DiCaprio, another A-lister who had previously attended Diddy’s depraved freak-offs. Although, no legitimate news sources have reported that DiCaprio has made any such move.

The Daily Mail, however, suggests that DiCaprio is currently in Rome, Italy. Could it be that DiCaprio is sampling Rome’s fish and chips with Vittoria Ceretti—who, surprise, is 26 years old—to escape more than just the heat? Back to the matter at hand, it remains to be seen whether Ashton Kutcher will actually need this alleged great escape. The price of fame and fortune can be a soul-crushing burden to bear, especially when your “weird” memories of Diddy’s parties come back to viciously haunt you.

Demi Moore is having a moment. The actress is already considered a Hollywood icon, but her performance in the new horror film The Substance is garnering some of the best reviews of her career. Predictions that the film will earn Moore her first Oscar nomination are also on the rise.

The buzz surrounding The Substance has led to renewed interest in Moore’s personal life, as well. The actress has been married to some of the biggest names in Hollywood, but the current state of her love life is less defined.

Who is Demi Moore married to now?

Demi Moore is not married and has not been married since she divorced Ashton Kutcher in 2013. She’s been married three times throughout her life, each time to a man who was also a celebrity. She was married to rock musician Freddy Moore from 1981 to 1985. Moore then tied the knot with superstar actor Bruce Willis in 1987, and they were together until 2000.

Moore’s third marriage, to the aforementioned Ashton Kutcher, lasted from 2005 to 2013. Her three daughters; Tallulah, Rumer, and Scout, all came from her marriage to Willis. Moore has maintained strong relationships with both Willis and Kutcher, but she claimed that she had to make concessions as a celebrity spouse.

The actress talked about her marriages during an appearance on The Jess Cagle Show. She said she struggled to be herself in romantic situations, especially given her incredibly high profile:

“For me, I changed myself so many times over and over to fit what I thought somebody else wanted…”

Is Demi Moore single now?

Demi Moore has been open about her single status during the press tour for The Substance. She’s reflected on the mistakes she’s made in past relationships, like cheating on her first husband, but she’s made peace with herself.

Moore made light of her single status during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The actress noted that she likes to sleep with all of her dogs in the bed, and said that it might be a deterrent to finding another man.

“If anybody saw my nighttime routine, if it was filmed, they would really see how eccentric I really am,” Moore said amidst laughter. She broke down the specific way that her bed is set up to ensure that all of her dogs fit, and concluded her breakdown by claiming it’s the reason she’s “single.”

On-screen chemistry rarely sparks real-life romance, but Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis seemed to break that mold with their true Hollywood love story. Now, rumors are swirling: could this fairy-tale romance be nearing its final chapter?

Meeting each other as their on-again off-again partners on That ’70s Show, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have known each other for over 25 years. Kunis had itted that she had “the biggest crush on him” while filming, and their on-screen kiss was, somewhat problematically, her first kiss ever. (via PEOPLE) Surprisingly, after the show ended, the two went their separate ways and dated other partners before finding their way back to each other.

When the two finally reunited at the Golden Globes in Jan. 2012, they started dating but decided to keep things casual. But as fate had planned, the duo made their relationship exclusive after three months of casual dating. And after moving in together in April 2012, things started looking good for the couple and they swiftly made their way to the next milestone—an engagement.

Kutcher and Kunis have been married for almost a decade

Kutcher and Kunis were engaged by Feb. 2014 and soon, Kunis was pregnant with the couple’s first child in March. The couple then became parents to a daughter, Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher, on Oct. 1, 2014. After tackling the initial rush of parenthood, Kutcher and Kunis officially married in a private ceremony in July 2015. And a year later, on Nov. 30, 2016, the two welcomed a second baby, a son named Dimitri Portwood Kutcher.

After almost a decade of marriage and parenthood of two children, rumors are now surfacing that the seemingly perfect couple is splitting. But is there any truth to the claim?

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis divorce rumors surface after Diddy faces serious charges in court

Though the couple keeps their family matters private, except for getting spotted at outings once in a while, the public is eyeing a possible split between the two actors. This alleged rumor has come after a recent resurgence of controversy surrounding Kutcher and Sean “Diddy” Combs and after the couple were seen out separately with their kids in Los Angeles on Friday morning.

Kutcher’s earlier remarks regarding Sean “Diddy” Combs’ notorious parties have put him in the spotlight in the wake of Diddy’s incrimination. Diddy was formally charged on Monday, Sept. 23, of federal offenses including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. This caused the resurgence of media coverage from a 2019 interview on Hot Ones, during which Kutcher hinted at having some secretive information about Diddy. (via The Economic Times)

But despite all the online chit-chat, neither Kutcher nor Kunis have confirmed the split rumors, thus far. And amidst all the heat surrounding Diddy’s case, it’s natural that Kutcher keeps a low profile for a while. Meanwhile, the source of the split rumors is also unconfirmed and seems baseless. A source for PEOPLE also called the rumor “absolutely ridiculous and false,” so we can’t trust it yet.

Ashton Kutcher’s resurfaced comments about Sean “Diddy” Combs are doing the rounds online, amid the controversy surrounding the rapper and his arrest on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering

For context, Diddy was arrested last week in New York following years-long legal troubles, with authorities alleging the disgraced rapper was the head of a sex trafficking ring that involved so-called “freak offs”. The days-long, drug-fuelled events allegedly saw victims perform sex acts, and Diddy’s parties have now been given renewed attention following Kutcher’s old comments.

The That 70s Show star spoke about his association with Diddy during a 2019 interview on the chicken wing-eating show, Hot Ones. After the show’s host, Sean Evans, said Diddy’s party stories are “our favorite genre of anecdote,” the actor replied skittishly that there’s “a lot I can’t tell” about the events hosted by the rapper. Images of Diddy and Kutcher were shown during the segment, and the actor giggled as he recalled memories from attending Diddy’s parties.

“I can’t tell that one either,” Kutcher said of his stories of Diddy’s parties, “I’m like cycling through them.” The actor skirted around revealing any actual details of the rapper’s parties, and ended the segment by saying that thinking of the events was like going down “some weird memory lane.”

In the same interview, Kutcher reflected on becoming “fast friends” with Diddy, saying the pair met while he was hosting his prank show Punk’d and would “hang out and watch football together.” Naturally, Kutcher’s connection to the now-infamous rapper has attracted backlash, with social media s suggesting that the actor “was complicit” in Diddy’s crimes.

“Why didn’t he speak out?,” one person wrote on X, with another adding that the actor appeared to have “SUPER guilty body language.” It’s worth noting that it is not yet known whether the parties Kutcher is referring to are the “freak offs” now at the center of Diddy’s legal woes, but the actor’s past has done little to quell fans’ suspicions.

s took particular umbrage with Kutcher’s comments given that, last year, he and his wife face backlash for sending letters of to their That 70s Show co star Danny Masterson, after he was convicted of rape.

According to critics, Kutcher’s attendance at Diddy’s parties also seems at-odds with his work as the former board chair of Thorn, an organization he cofounded in 2012 to fight child sex trafficking. Kutcher is far from the only celebrity whose connection to Diddy has resurfaced following the arrest, with fans also questioning the rapper’s relationship with stars like Jennifer Lopez, Usher and Justin Bieber.

The associates of the rapper have also reached the political sphere, following Donald Trump’s decision to share a fake image of his presidential opponent Kamala Harris posing alongside Diddy.

While that photo was found to be doctored, the former president himself has made complimentary comments about Diddy in the past, saying in an old episode of The Celebrity Apprentice that he was “going to stick up for” the musician.

Diddy is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he has been denied bail twice. His next hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2024.

There’s a surprising amount of evidence behind the theory that Donald Trump is unable to read, but in reality, literacy is one of few incredibly low bars that he does manage to get over.

That doesn’t mean he’s good at reading, though. The former Apprentice host and current plaintiff in a number of legal cases involving crimes ranging from campaign finance violations to run of the mill business fraud, famously hated having to read while he was president. This might go some way to explaining why he was so incompetent.

After leaving court today, Trump convincingly read aloud from a prepared statement in which he compared his legal troubles to the famous early 2000s hit television show Punk’d:

“This case is a joke. Ashton Kutcher is going to pop and left [sic] to tell us we’ve been punk’d…I think I know what that means.”

Leaving aside the fact that Trump clearly misread what was written on the page (or wasn’t able to…), it’s clear the team around him is devoid of ideas. While Punk’d was a huge cultural phenomenon in its heyday, nowadays most people would consider it a dated reference. Then again, a large chunk of Trump’s voter base hasn’t been able to get over the fact the Confederacy lost the Civil War a century and a half ago, so early-noughties MTV is probably quite a modern concept to them.

Kutcher is also hardly an underground name, either. Aside from Punk’d, he was also in the incredibly popular That 70’s Show, and cult classic films like Dude Where’s My Car and The Butterfly Effect. In the 2010s he was even considered to have enough star power to replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, which at the time was one of the biggest shows on network television.

Nowadays, Kutcher is probably best known for his advocacy work in ending child sex trafficking via the organization Thorn, which he founded with his ex-wife Demi Moore. However, he was also recently in the news for an altogether more disappointing reason, as he and Mila Kunis wrote a letter of for their former That 70’s Show co-star Danny Masterson while the latter was in court facing charges of rape. Masterson was convicted, and Kutcher and Kunis apologized, with Kutcher even stepping down from his role of chairman of Thorn).

It has been a rough few months for Trump, who seems to be losing even more than usual. Fresh from yet another rise in the amount he has to pay E Jean Carroll for defamation (she successfully sued Trump in civil court for rape, and then took him to the cleaners again as he couldn’t stop publicly attacking her character), his most current case has seen him dragged over the coals in a thoroughly embarrassing manner.

This particular bit of legal trouble relates to an affair that Trump had with the adult film actress Stormy Daniels. The extramarital dalliance was alleged to have taken place while Trump’s present wife, Melania, was pregnant with their son, Barron.

While that is all morally repugnant and grossly unethical, it isn’t actually illegal. Where the former president and failed insurrectionist messed up was via the funds he used to pay for Daniels’ silence to increase his chances of winning the 2016 election, which he raised by falsifying business records.

The payments in question were made through Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, who has itted to this crime and to several others, and has been testifying in the case against his old boss. Cohen has already been convicted of a number of crimes that relate to his time as a Trump employee.

One of the most ironic things about all of this is that a large chunk of Republican voters are so deep into the Trump cult that his affair being public knowledge would have likely had little bearing on the election. After all, Trump won 84% of the white evangelical protestant vote in the 2020 election, despite all of this being widely known. And who can forget, his ers are now proudly proclaiming that “Real Men Wear Diapers,” as the advanced state of Trump’s incontinence issues are becoming public.

Sadly, it seems Kutcher is not going to pop out from behind the scene and tell us we’re all being punk’d, but there is no doubt that Trump continues to be a joke — albeit a dangerous one.

Watching Killers rise to the number two spot on Netflix’s Top 10 feels like déjà vu. Its re-emergence in 2023 and its initial success in 2010 share a common catalyst: Ashton Kutcher.

The lead actor’s influence helped Killers triumph during its theatrical debut and on streaming platforms. But does it truly merit a film franchise?

The past and current success of Killers seems to ride the massive waves of controversy occasionally created by its leading man. Shortly after it hit the silver screen, allegations of infidelity involving Ashton and his then-wife, Demi Moore, found their way into the pages of Star Magazine. He responded by publishing a strongly worded denial on social media.

Eventually, an indiscreet night at Danny Masterson’s bachelor party culminated in marriage-ending headlines. However, the bad press generated good box office for the star. Despite Killers’ flimsy plot and lack of originality, the movie earned a global gross of $98.1 million against a production budget of $75 million. Ashton’s appeal and the scandal surrounding him played a pivotal role in its achievement

Controversy is King

Fast forward to 2023, and a fresh scandal involving Ashton and his current wife, Mila Kunis. The couple is facing a backlash from the public due to their contentious letters seeking leniency for Danny Masterson. Like clockwork, Killers has found its audience, baffling critics who universally panned the movie. Once again, his magnetism and a media debacle drive interest in the film. Its resurgence poses the intriguing question: might Ashton return for a sequel?

What Is Killers About?

Killers tells the story of Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl), a woman who travels to the sun-drenched shores of southern to recover from a difficult break-up. During the trip, she falls in love with Spencer Aimes (Kutcher), the man of her dreams. They marry and settle down in an picturesque suburb. However, an attempted murder shatters their idyllic life, and Spencer must come clean about his past. He reveals he is a professional assassin and lets Jen know there is a bounty on him. Killers is a chronicle of clichés told with astonishingly awful dialogue. Case in point: “Let’s just say I work for the blah blah blah, and they gave me a license to blah.” Ironically, “blah” was critics’ go-to descriptor to warn viewers about the perceived mind-numbing tedium of Killers. Yet, despite the lambasting, the movie did surprisingly well.

The Comfort of Simplicity Amid Life’s Complexities

Killers is an unpretentious action-comedy that offers the simple pleasures of laughter and love amid some high-octane scenes. Like Ashton Kutcher, Katherine Heigl was a household name in 2010, ensuring that the movie would at least pique the interest of film lovers. Then as now, it was released in a time of economic instability and the film’s predictability was just what the doctor ordered.

Killers‘ endgame is not social commentary or profound insights into human nature. Its sole mission is to entertain. It is a star-driven film willing to meet the needs of movie fans who like a bit of levity now and then.

Why Killers Captivates Audiences

Screen capture. YouTube.

Killers’ success never fails to baffle the naysayers because they don’t understand the cinematic palate of some rom-com fans. Ashton’s razor-sharp business acumen makes it easy to forget that a film like Killers is on-brand for him because it’s silly fun with a good-looking guy. What’s not to like?

A simple glance at Ashton’s IMdB movie credits reveals a pattern in the roles that helped him ascend to stardom: beautiful moron Jesse Montgomery in Dude, Where’s My Car?; daft hunk Kelso on That 70s Show; and pretty boy prankster-in-chief on Punk’d. Movie fans seem unconcerned with the substance of his films because back in 2010, Ashton was shamelessly self-indulgent eye candy whether he wore a trucker hat or a tuxedo. He was the real-life version of the character Drew Baird (Jon Hamm) from the “The Bubble” episode of 30 Rock. Thus, his audience is content with feel-good escapism wrapped in a handsome yet relatable package. No matter how absurd and derivative his movies are, Ashton invariably ends up laughing all the way to the bank.

For this reason, despite being savaged by critics, Killers enjoyed moderate success at the box office. The film earned $15.8 million during its opening weekend due to the popularity of its lead actor. At the time, Ashton was half of a Hollywood power couple and a prominent presence on the hottest social media app back in 2010, Twitter. Even amidst negative press, seeing him continues to evoke fond memories for his fans, who are shame-watching Killers in droves despite his ethically elastic of Masterson.

Conclusion

Killers’ ability to become the second most-watched film on Netflix may present an economic opportunity. The film has an audience, and its newfound popularity suggests Ashton’s pretty privilege is undiminished by scandals, low scores on Rotten Tomatoes, and Father Time. Earlier this year, he starred in Your Place Or Mine, so he is still an engaging romantic lead despite his dad status and high-flying career as a venture capitalist. A sequel to Killers could happen.

But is there truly a need for a Killers 2? Those who view the original film as unapologetic escapist nonsense would say once was enough. However, even viewers who enjoyed the film might agree that it has already squeezed every last drop from the proverbial lemon.

Killers is streaming on Netflix.

Who is Kathy Griffin and how is she connected to Danny Masterson’s sexual assault conviction? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/who-is-kathy-griffin-and-how-is-she-connected-to-danny-mastersons-sexual-assault-conviction/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/who-is-kathy-griffin-and-how-is-she-connected-to-danny-mastersons-sexual-assault-conviction/#respond Sun, 17 Sep 2023 23:31:30 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1588382 'That '70s Show's star's trial ended with him getting 30 years in prison, but the discourse around it continues.]]>

Warning: This article references both sexual violence and the defense of a convicted ab, notably in the case of child sexual abuse, as well as a brief reference to domestic violence. This may be potentially triggering for some readers.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have faced a wave of criticism since it was revealed that the actors wrote letters in of their former That ’70s Show co-star Danny Masterson, addressed to the court case’s judge prior to his sentencing for the rape of two women.

“I do not believe he is an ongoing harm to society and having his daughter raised without a present father would [sic] a tertiary injustice in and of itself,” Kutcher’s statement read. Similarly, Kunis’ letter described Masterson as an “outstanding role model and friend.”

Criticism of the married couple has come from other high-profile figures, notably fellow actors as well as prominent campaigners for abuse victims. And now, Kathy Griffin has ed the discourse against Kutcher and Kunis in a new video shared on her Instagram and TikTok s, becoming one of the most impactful voices in calling out the actors for not ing the sexual assault victims in the Masterson case.

Who is Kathy Griffin and why has she taken a stand in the ongoing Danny Masterson controversy?

Kathy Griffin is an American comedian, actor, and TV host. Griffin is perhaps best known for her work as a stand-up comedian, as well as her Emmy-award-winning reality series, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. She is also an outspoken activist, known for her advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community, victim , as well as her often-controversial statements against the Republican Party.

But the biggest reason Kathy Griffin has spoken out about Danny Masterson’s sexual assault conviction is because she herself was a victim of sexual abuse as a child. As previously revealed by the comedian, her brother Kenny, who was twenty years her elder, began sexually abusing her at the age of seven. Later, he would be convicted of sexually and physically abusing children, as well as women.

“[Masterson’s conviction] is such serious stuff that I don’t really care that they were working on That ’70s Show, he was like a good guy to work with, and he actively worked to keep people off drugs, ’cause he’s a Scientologist,” Griffin said, referencing Kutcher and Kunis’ letters describing Masterson’s alleged ionate advocacy against drug addiction.

In the video, Griffin told a very personal story in comparison to Masterson’s, about her decision to try and turn her brother in, after being informed about his crimes by his victims.

“Now, I don’t want to hear about Ashton and Mila and Giovanni Ribisi, and people who feel like they have to stick up for Danny Masterson, because he was their bro, he was their buddy” Griffin continued. Ribisi is an actor and fellow Scientologist who also wrote a letter in of Masterson. “This was my own brother, and two of his girlfriends confessed to me that he physically abused them very violently. I called the LAPD [Los Angeles Police Department] twice, as he was the Super[intendent] of a building, and that’s how he gained access to his victims,”

Griffin went into detail about how a “giant rift” took place within her family who shinned her for speaking out against her brother and for her attempts to have him convicted.

Later in the video, Griffin pointed out further how difficult it is for victims of sexual abuse, especially when it comes to the abuse of children. “When I called LAPD, they actually said ‘we can only go and even do a door knock, like ask one of the victims about this, if your brother personally walks into the station and confesses, or if one of the kids confesses,” Griffin recalled. “Both times, I said ‘you think a 10-year-old is going to walk into the precinct on Bronson or whatever and ask for help? It doesn’t work that way, in this crime.”

Griffin stated that the accusations of child sexual abuse went no further due to this rule, but she continued to be subjected to abuse from relatives for her fight to attain justice. She also revealed that she has been haunted by her inability to do more about her brother’s actions.

“Blood was not thicker than water in my case, and if you know that somebody is committing SA, you should do something, if you can, my God, at least try,” Griffin concluded, directing her story and her anger toward Kunis and Kutcher’s of the convicted rapist. “[Masterson’s case] brings up so many emotions in me, and it should in all of us, so believe the victims, for people to even go to the police, they don’t do it lightly.”

Why has Ashton Kutcher stepped down from anti-sexual abuse organization he co-founded with ex-wife, Demi Moore? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/why-has-ashton-kutcher-stepped-down-from-anti-sexual-abuse-organization-he-co-founded-with-ex-wife-demi-moore/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/why-has-ashton-kutcher-stepped-down-from-anti-sexual-abuse-organization-he-co-founded-with-ex-wife-demi-moore/#respond Sat, 16 Sep 2023 19:08:10 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1588268 Since 2009, the actor had been a part of Thorn — an organization working towards combatting child abuse.]]>

Ashton Kutcher may have primarily gained fame for appearing on That ‘70s Show as Michael Kelso, but he is also renowned for devoting himself to a life of advocacy with the creation of the anti-child sexual abuse organization, Thorn. The digital company fights to expose the sexual exploitation of children and protect them from sexual abuse, a cause Kutcher continued to stand by even after he and his then-wife, Demi Moore, separated. But while his divorce didn’t keep him away from the organization, his recent, widely-bashed decisions have forced him to step down from his position as Chairperson of the board.

Kutcher and Moore announced their continued collaboration in a t statement via Us Weekly in 2012.

“For the past three years we have focused our work broadly on combatting child sex trafficking. It has become crystal clear in our efforts that technology plays an increasingly large role in this crime and in the sexual exploitation of children overall. We believe that the technology-driven aspect of these crimes demands its own attention and investment.”

But this cooperation has now come to an end, however, as Kutcher recently announced that he is reg from the board of directors. The reason? The ongoing backlash against him and his wife and former co-star, Mila Kunis, has caused Kutcher to rethink his role in the group. Stemming from the resolution of That ‘70s Show co-star Danny Masterson’s trial for sexual assault — which ended with him sentenced to 30 years in prison — The Butterfly Effect actor decided this was the best course of action given the circumstances.

It began with Ashton Kutcher’s controversial letter of for Danny Masterson

Since their early days in the entertainment industry, Kutcher and Masterson have often been linked. They played best friends Kelso and Hyde in That ‘70s Show and later reunited for Netflix’s The Ranch. However, the arrest of Masterson on charges of sexual assault created a division. Following the allegations, Masterson lost his role on The Ranch and eventually went to trial. After an initial mistrial, the actor was convicted on two counts of rape and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

What should have been an open-and-shut situation became more complicated when letters penned by Kutcher and Kunis, advocating for Masteron’s character, became public knowledge. The actors claimed that the accused was a great role model and defined his “exceptional character.” Though the statements from Kutcher and Kunis ultimately had no bearing on the sentencing, they conveyed to the masses that the couple was rallying behind their former castmate, shockingly ignoring the crimes he was eventually convicted of.

In light of the severe backlash, Kutcher and Kunis went on the record to assure that they ed all victims, but the damage was done and further worsened by the ission that the letters were supposed to remain private. The actor now had the overwhelming task of enacting damage control.

Why did Ashton Kutcher resign from Thorn?

Understandably, Kutcher had a big decision to make. Despite devoting so much time to ing victims of sexual abuse, the optics could not look worse for the actor in the wake of the Danny Masterson conviction. To avoid detracting from his advocacy, Kutcher made the only choice he could and stepped down from his overseeing position at Thorn.

“After my wife and I spent several days of listening, personal reflection, learning, and conversations with survivors and the employees and leadership at Thorn, I have determined the responsible thing for me to do is resign as Chairman of the Board, effectively immediately. I cannot allow my error in judgment to distract from our efforts and the children we serve.”

Kutcher went on to acknowledge that the character statement he wrote was in direct opposition to the kind of awareness and revolution he was trying to bring about. By writing in defense of Masterson, he was making it harder for survivors of such attacks to come forward. But despite his explanation and yet another apology, his statement continued to flame the fire of controversy.

Many on social media continue to take issue with his initial for Masterson and his many apologies, pointing out that calling his actions a simple “error in judgment” was simplifying the situation as it is evident how Kutcher is all for advocating for victims until it becomes personal. After years of friendship with a now-convicted rapist, the actor was unable to be objective and only understood the consequences of his actions after the fact. Leniency may have been on his mind, but the world at large is not quite ready to let him off the hook.

‘Doing the exact opposite when it was his friend’: Ashton Kutcher ‘born to play’ Michael Kelso as he calls Danny Masterson letter ‘error in judgment’ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/doing-the-exact-opposite-when-it-was-his-friend-ashton-kutcher-born-to-play-michael-kelso-as-he-calls-danny-masterson--letter-error-in-judgment/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/doing-the-exact-opposite-when-it-was-his-friend-ashton-kutcher-born-to-play-michael-kelso-as-he-calls-danny-masterson--letter-error-in-judgment/#respond Sat, 16 Sep 2023 17:08:17 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1588284 The actor's poor choice of words has once again not gone unnoticed.]]>

The sexual assault case against Danny Masterson ended with him getting 30 years in prison. But the storm Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis kickstarted with their ill-witted involvement in the case continues to gather more negative traction. At this point, anything Kutcher says or does will not do him any favors, but it is easy to see exactly why reg from the anti-abuse group he co-founded while bravely calling his letter a simple “error in judgment” is not sitting well with the masses.

What started with the revelation that the couple had written glowing letters of for their former co-star (who is now a convicted rapist) escalated with a rather poorly phrased apology video by the duo. The ongoing backlash against the letter and the video has pushed Kutcher to step down from Thorn, the anti-child sexual abuse organization he co-founded with his ex-wife, Demi Moore.

In his statement, the actor explained how he can’t “allow my error in judgment to distract from our efforts and the children we serve.” His decision to not let the organization bear the brunt of his actions is justified, but what many can’t wrap their head around is his blaming the attempt to minimize the magnitude of the crimes Masterson committed, painting him as a “role model,” and disregarding the trauma the sexual assault victims went through on poor judgment.

In a Reddit post, which continues to get longer, it is impossible to not that Kutcher has campaigned and worked towards empowering sexual abuse victims for years, and yet, here he is, attempting to write off his words in Masterson’s favor as an oversight.

Kutcher labeling the letter a bad judgment call has reminded a few of his character Michael Kelso in That ‘70s Show because ing an individual who has already been found guilty of the crimes he had been accused of is not a decision one takes without thinking it thoroughly.

Many in the thread also tried to defend the actor’s choice. But whether it was truly an “error in judgment,” an attempt to protect his friend as justified by a few in the comments, or a bid to find Masterson some leniency for the sake of his family, Kutcher is going to find it difficult to explain how despite working for more than a decade to raise awareness against sexual exploitation of children, he failed to factor in the years of trauma the sexual assault victims in the Danny Masterson case went through.
