For her current relationship, Hadid says she met Cooper at the birthday party of their common friend’s child, and the relationship developed from there. Cooper, too, has a daughter, 7-year-old Lea De Seine with ex-partner Irina Shayk. The model offered a rare glimpse into their romance, saying that Cooper has influenced her to see more theater shows, which she loves. Apart from that, she describes their partnership as “very romantic and happy.” 

“I respect him so much as a creative, and I feel that he gives so much to me: encouragement and, just, belief. For those people you ire to encourage you, it can create so much belief in yourself. Like, what’s the worst thing if I auditioned for this? You jump and take the leap.”

Hadid didn’t divulge other details, however, as she wants to keep that part of her life private. Reflecting on where her love life is now, she explained that she couldn’t have had this type of relationship in her younger years. She’s at a point in her life where she knows what she wants and deserves in a partner, and has found that Cooper is on the same page. “You both do work separately to come together and be the best partner that you can be. I just feel really lucky. Yeah, lucky’s the word,” Hadid explained.

Hadid gives importance to privacy, so much so that she moved away from New York to a rural Pennsylvania property she shares with her mother Yolanda and sister Bella, saying there was a “darkness” she felt in New York that was difficult to escape because of the cameras. Everyone is all smiles in the snap with the 51-year-old Charm alum and her co-star Kimberly Marable (still in their costumes!). Milano later shared the photo on her Instagram along with a message of gratitude to those who came to see her perform. She captioned the snap:

Cooper, wearing a brown leather coat and gray pants and sneakers, sported a beard and long hair in the snap. People were quick to notice that he looked different and younger. One even wondered if it was really him and asked: “Is Bradley in the room with us">Instagram Stories to react on meeting Cooper and Hadid. She wrote: “Y’all … @milano_alyssa has the nicest friends. But the truth of it is, they’ve got the best of friends in Alyssa … SO LOVELY TO MEET YOU.”

Cooper and Hadid were first romantically linked in October last year when they were photographed having dinner together at Via Carota in New York City’s West Village. They were also seen kissing and confirmed they were in a relationship earlier this year in March. The two are already parents — Cooper shares seven-year-old daughter Lea with his ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk and Hadid has four-year-old daughter Khai with her ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik.

On Halloween night, instead of spending time with his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, 29, the Hollywood actor chose to be with his ex, Irina Shayk, and their 7-year-old daughter, Lea de Seine. 

The family of three reportedly went trick-or-treating in New York City’s West Village, with the 38-year-old Russian model dressed in full Lara Croft gear while Cooper, 49, put on a furry animal costume. Meanwhile, their daughter played the part of a cute little witch, complete with green face paint and a broomstick to look the part. 

Based on the photos released by Page Six, Shayk was a total head-turner that night as she completely nailed the “Tomb Raider” look from head to toe. She wore a black tank top and matching shorts, a thigh holster, and black knee-high boots. She even styled her hair just like the iconic character by having an extra-long braided ponytail. 

In some of the snaps, the trio was seen crossing the street with other trick-or-treaters. Bradley held one of Lea’s hands as Irina did the same with the other. 

Bradley and Irina ensured that Lea could get as many treats as possible as they were seen immersing with the crowd in a busy neighborhood in a video published by the Daily Mail. And it seemed they weren’t the only celebrities in the area, because the outlet’s cameras also captured the likes of Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman, Macauley Culkin and his partner Brenda Song, as well as actress Kirsten Dunst. 

It’s not clear if Cooper and Shayk were able to connect with their fellow celebs as they appeared too focused on trick-or-treating. At some point, they took turns carrying their daughter’s mini-cauldron basket and broomstick. 

While the A Star is Born actor had a blast with his family, his girlfriend has not dropped hints on how she celebrated Halloween this year. But two days ago, she shared a series of snaps on Instagram showing her reflection in her car’s rearview mirror. The model was sporting a Frankenstein-inspired makeup.

When Hadid opened the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in mid-October, her beau was also unable to be physically there to her. Fortunately for Cooper, Gigi spared him from all the negative press as she outright addressed his absence during the pre-show, telling Entertainment Tonight: “He’s watching from home tonight. He is on dad duty, but so ive.”

It is worth noting that Cooper had to watch over his daughter that night since Irina also had to walk the VS runway. The Hangover actor and the Russian beauty were together for four years before they called it quits for good in 2019. Despite ending their romantic relationship, the two have remained close as they prioritize co-parenting their daughter. 

On the other hand, we can’t say for certain if Bradley and Gigi are having the best time as a couple. It’s still too early to tell since they only got romantically linked in October 2023. But if anything, we certainly cannot fault Cooper for being committed to fatherhood and spending time trick-or-treating with his daughter rather than doing anything else on Halloween night.

The Bear season 3 might not be as solid as the other two seasons, depending on who you ask, but a cameo from Bradley Cooper in the last episode was definitely memorable. So, it’s natural that most folks want to find out exactly why he appeared in the show.

In the third season of everyone’s favorite kitchen comedy/drama (that makes us feel 10 emotions in every single scene), which was released in June, Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) continues his dream of having his own restaurant while (naturally) making a lot of mistakes along the way. And while we want to know more about what’s going on with Sydney Adamu’s (Ayo Edebiri) career, we also need to figure out this Bradley Cooper situation.

So, why is Bradley Cooper in The Bear season 3?

Bradley Cooper’s The Bear season 3 cameo was unlike all the others. While Josh Hartnett played Tiff’s (Gillian Jacobs) fiancé Frank, which builds on Tiff’s sad The Bear season 2 storyline, Cooper didn’t play a fictional character whose identity and presence on the show can be easily explained. When Carmy goes to a final dinner at Ever before it closes down, which they call a “funeral,” there is a board with photos of talented chefs… and Bradley Cooper as Adam Jones in Burnt, the 2015 movie that we may or may not have seen. (It wasn’t the best.)

We all want to solve this culinary mystery, and people have some ideas about why Cooper was shown in The Bear for such a short amount of time that we might have had to rewind. According to ScreenRant and Slash Film, there are three possible explanations. Cooper might be in The Bear season 4, Cooper’s Burnt character Adam and The Bear are in the same world, and maybe Chef Terry (Olivia Coleman) loves Burnt and simply put the photo up on her board. The Independent also shared a fan’s theory that maybe Cooper trained at Ever before playing Adam.

Personally, I think the most logical explanation is that Cooper is a famous actor in the world of The Bear and that Terry enjoyed watching him portray a tough and brilliant chef in Burnt. This would fit in with the theme of The Bear season 3 finale, which was all about chefs embracing why they love working in restaurants despite the many lows and not that many highs. Terry and the other characters look for motivation everywhere since they want to work hard and be creative.

While some of us might think that the episode was a little disappointing (with no Claire/Carmy happy ending or, really, any loose ends getting fixed), it was definitely heartwarming to see a group of talented and hard-working chefs enjoying a meal together. Sure, it was a little corny at times and the conversation became a bit pretentious, but it was still a pretty effective and powerful scene.

As of now, Cooper hasn’t said why he was in The Bear season 3 finale, but we’d like to think he’s as big a fan of the show as we are. No one else involved with the show seems to be talking about it, either, so we might have to sit back and see if The Bear season 4 brings up Cooper’s Burnt character Adam. Maybe then we’ll find out the truth.

It’s no secret that Hollywood loves a power couple, and the famous duo on everyone’s lips in the 2010s was Suki Waterhouse and Bradley Cooper.

For context, Suki Waterhouse and Bradley Cooper met in 2013 at the Elle Style Awards in London. Sources have said the pair “hit it off immediately,” and Waterhouse told Wonderland in 2014 that they were dancing together at the afterparty before heading to a nightclub. At the time, Waterhouse said she and Cooper “make a ridiculously good duo.”

By 2015, the relationship was reportedly on the rocks, and while neither party has given an official reason for the split, sources claim they were simply at different stages in their lives. The actress said that turning 30 “afforded [her] a little bit more respect,” adding that she’s “pretty strong at this point.” As for her relationship with Pattinson, it seems to be a much lighter affair, with Waterhouse recalling their first time meeting and how she “light[s] up when I’m around him.”

Last year, Brendan Fraser won the award for his stellar work in The Whale. This year, the nominee field is just as varied as it could be, with several high-profile actors vying for the honor.

Bradley Cooper in Maestro

Maestro is the story of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre. It dives into the rise of what many consider music’s best composer, and explores the personal and intimate relationships he had with men and women.

Cooper plays the composer in all stages of his life, from an 80-year-old man to his beginnings as a young man searching for purpose, and meeting his future wife. There are notable prosthetics and an explosive scene where Bradley conducts an orchestra inside England’s Ely Cathedral. Cooper also directed the film.

This is his fourth best acting nomination. He was previously nominated for Silver Linings Playbook, American Sniper and A Star is Born.

Colman Domingo in Rustin

Rustin tells the story of Bayard Rustin, an important but often overlooked figure in the civil rights movement. The movie centers on a specific period in the openly gay activist’s life: The planning of the 1963 March on Washington where Martin Luther King gave his historic “I Have a Dream” speech.

Movie critic Chaz Ebert said that she could not stop thinking about Domingo’s performance after she watched it. Ebert said Domingo “nailed” Rustin’s “vaguely mid-Atlantic accent, his ferocious drive and aching vulnerability,” calling the actor’s take the best performance of 2023.

“Domingo’s performance captured the essence of Bayard’s soul with such arresting beauty and nuance that it left me floored,” she said. This is his first nomination.

Paul Giamatti in The Holdovers

The Holdovers tells the story of a crotchety teacher (Giamatti) at a prep school in New England who is forced to babysit students who didn’t have anywhere to go during Christmas Break. He becomes good friends with one of the students (Dominic Sessa) and the school’s head cook (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) and the trio form an unlikely bond.

This movie reunites Giamatti with director Alexander Payne, who directed Giamatti in the Oscar winning 2004 movie Sideways. It’s Giamatti’s second nomination; he was first nominated in 2005 for Cinderella Man as best ing actor.

Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer

Cillian Murphy plays the lead character, J. Robert Oppenheimer, in this 1940s period piece about the development of the atomic bomb and the repercussions of doing such work. Murphy’s character struggles deal with the ethical concerns of creating the world’s most powerful weapon all while carrying on an extramarital affair.

This is Murphy’s first Oscar nomination.

Jeffrey Wright in American Fiction

Based on a novel called Erasure by Percival Everett, American Fiction tells the story of Thelonious “Monk” Ellison (Wright) a supremely intelligent upper class Black novelist whose books are critical darlings, but commercial failures. His latest novel is rejected for not being “Black enough,” so he writes a satirical novel about Black stereotypes, and it becomes a monster hit.

Wright has received high praise for his nuanced and also over-the-top take on the main character. This is his first Academy Award nomination.

Maestro is one of many front-running films for the 2023-2024 awards season. It scored four Golden Globe and eight Critics Choice Award nominations, and is currently shortlisted in almost every category for the Academy Awards.

The Leonard Bernstein biopic is written, directed, and led by Bradley Cooper, and the film focuses on the famed composer’s marriage to actress Felicia Montealegre, played by Carey Mulligan. For those planning a viewing party with family or younger viewers, here’s what adults need to know before streaming the movie on Netflix.

Maestro has an ‘R’ rating from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). According to MPAA rules, children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult, typically a parent or guardian. Unlike the highest rating under the MPAA, NC-17, which prohibits under-17s from seeing a movie outright, younger moviegoers are still permitted to see Maestro. For adults accompanying children, they may wish to read up on content flagged by the MPAA to be more mature.

Maestro mostly earned its R rating due to its more adult themes and language, as well as some potentially upsetting scenes, as well as its depiction of drug use.

In of adult themes and language, many references to sexual activity are made, mostly in conversations about Leonard Bernstein’s numerous extramarital affairs with men. However, there are no sex or nude scenes in the film, and the strongest sexual reference shows Cooper playfully slapping a lover’s (clothed) buttocks. There are occasional uses of swear words, but these are few and far between, and are relatively mild compared to most R-rated movies.

As for upsetting scenes, Leonard Bernstein briefly discusses an adolescent fantasy about murdering his father, but the dialogue lacks explicit detail, and no violence is shown on screen at any time during the film. Towards the end of the biopic, Bernstein’s wife, Felicia Montealegre, finds out she is dying of cancer, and her final weeks of living are depicted on screen. While these scenes are not gory in any way and no medical procedures are shown, these highly emotional scenes may be upsetting or even triggering for some viewers.

The most explicitly adult scene in the film involves one where Bernstein is seen snorting cocaine at a party with some fellow drug s, although this scene is brief. As the film takes place predominately in the early 20th century, tobacco use is shown throughout, as was common at the time. Alcohol use is shown, but is very limited.

In of suitability for children, Maestro is mostly suitable for older children and teenagers. Even outside of its moderate adult content, the film is mostly made up of scenes involving conversations surrounding mature themes, and smaller children would most likely be uninterested or unable to understand.

Back in 2018, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper made us all believe in love once again. For a moment there, we also believed that their chemistry had translated into real life, only to have our hopes left in shambles. However, that may be about to change.

Think what you will of Bradley Cooper, but you can’t deny his talent.

The man has appeared in a massive range of roles, but his incoming Netflix release is a far cry from his days in Failure to Launch or even Guardians of the Galaxy. Early reactions hint toward the award-winning potential of Maestro, Cooper’s latest project, which he wrote, directed, and stars in. The film is already being discussed as an Oscar contender several times over and Cooper is a huge part of that.

Even past the backlash, the film is soaring past initial expectations and collecting high praise for Carey Mulligan and Cooper’s performances. Cooper in particular is on the receiving end of praise as people once again gape at his range of talent. The man can act — both in live-action and animation — sing, and now he’s revealing yet another talent: piano playing.

Cooper plays legendary American composer Leonard Bernstein in the self-directed flick and the role demands quite a bit of the star. Most notably, it requires him to play the piano, a skill few people realized Cooper possessed. Let’s not forget, of course, that movie magic is real and it’s entirely possible that all those musical moments were simply the result of good acting and a stand-in pianist. The piano is, in many ways, the core of musical composition. Obviously this tends to hinge on what kind of music one is making, but it’s rare that the very first notes of a masterpiece are laid down on anything but a set of ivories.

As such, it was guaranteed that Cooper’s Bernstein would be featured on the piano with some degree of frequency in Maestro. What was less guaranteed was that Cooper would actually learn the piano first, but anyone who’s followed the 48-year-old’s career probably realized that he’d do just that. Cooper loves to dive deep into his projects, and Maestro is no exception.

Cooper learned to play the piano ahead of his appearance in the 2023 release, but he didn’t suddenly become a savant. So while those scenes of him playing the piano are real, and he did in fact learn how to hold his hands, move his fingers, and project an air of authority on the instrument, it won’t be his music you hear in the film.

The final music included in Maestro and on its soundtrack comes from Victoria Ruggiero, but the hands we see on the keyboard are very much Cooper’s. He learned the basics of the piano so he could give a believable performance, but it takes years of practice to produce the actual Bernstein’s level of piano magic and mastery. We’ve got Ruggiero to thank for that, as she provides the soundtrack to bolster Cooper’s potentially award-winning performance.

Despite having a career spanning more than 20 years, Bradley Cooper’s seismic breakthrough came with the huge success of The Hangover, a little over ten years ago in 2009. This critically and commercially successful comedy not only birthed two sequels in 2011 and 2013 but also launched Cooper’s career and led to him landing leading roles in films like Limitless (2011) and The Place Beyond the Pines (2012).

It began with the romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook in 2012 and continued with the highly regarded black comedy American Hustle (2013), finally reaching the climax to this glorious trifecta with the iconic war biopic American Sniper in 2014. Most of his riches are attributed to his luminous acting career and the profits he made producing films like Joker, but Cooper further diversified his portfolio in 2018 by stepping into the realm of filmmaking after he directed his first film, A Star Is Born (a remake of the 1937 musical film), which earned $434 million globally.

Maestro has received mostly positive reviews so far, with a heavy focus being on Bradley Cooper’s performance as the legendary conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein. 

Currently, the biopic is only available to watch in theaters, with the film making its way to streaming later next month. The film has very clearly been a labor of love for Cooper, who not only stars in the leading role, but co-wrote the script (along with Josh Singer) and directed the movie!

And it seems as though Cooper’s devotion to the film’s subject has paid off, as critics have praised the film’s directing story and performances. But just how accurate is Bradley’s portrayal of Bernstein? More specifically, we want to know what the conductor looked like compared to the actor portraying him, do the two look similar, or did Cooper have to make some physical changes with the aid of makeup and prosthetics?

Do Leonard Bernstein and Bradley Cooper actually look alike?

As a matter of fact, the two do have many similarities when it comes to their appearance. Cooper’s facial features are a close enough match to the man he is portraying in the film, or at least he does to my untrained eye. Simple changes like his hair being styled in the same way as the composer along with his clothes and other such details go a long way to making Cooper look like the man as well.

Even though there are small differences like Cooper’s eyes being blue and Bernstein’s being brown, it’s something that I’d say is easy to forgive considering the effort put in to match the rest of the composer’s look. Overall it seems like the makeup department did a pretty good job at making the actor look similar enough to the subject. 

We also see Cooper portraying Bernstein at different stages in his life, with the actor looking older and with white hair in some scenes. It’s fair to say that the striking look is pretty accurate to how we know Bernstein actually looked.

Controversy surrounding Bradley Cooper’s Maestro look

Not everything about Cooper’s look in the film has been commended. When the first trailer dropped, many were outraged at the apparent prosthetic nose the actor was wearing, which doesn’t particular resemble Bernstein’s nose at all. Weirdly enough, Cooper’s real nose looks more like the composer’s, so why did they give him a bigger prosthetic one in the first place?

Many also took issue with Cooper, who is not Jewish, portraying a Jewish cultural icon. That, coupled with the exaggerated nose, has resulted in many claiming that Cooper is in “Jewface” and that the film is borderline anti-Semitic.

While the nose is an ittedly weird fumble on the filmmakers’ part, it seems that Cooper’s makeup and costumes make up for it. He looks very convincing as Bernstein and his performance really sells it.

Bradley Cooper has become a familiar face of the awards season, consistently starring in Oscar-nominated titles. This year his best bet is Maestro, the Leonard Bernstein biopic he’s not only the lead in, but also wrote, directed, and produced.

The film has generated some controversy, however, due to Cooper’s prosthetic nose which, in an effort to increase the actor-director’s likeness to the composer, has been dubbed “Jewface”.

Is Bradley Cooper Jewish like Leonard Bernstein?

First up, no, the Philadelphia-native 9-time Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Cooper is not Jewish. He’s of Italian and Irish descent and a Catholic. Cooper’s mother Gloria Campano has roots in the Southern Italian regions of Naples and Abruzzo, while his father Charles Cooper had Irish ancestry.

Speaking to Celtic Life International in 2014, the now 48-year-old filmmaker itted to being “a product of his parents.” From his mom’s side came a love of eating and cooking, while his dad was highly influential in his outlook on life. “I was brought up a Roman Catholic in the correct way,” he said, adding that, growing up, he really looked up to his devout father, and wanted to be just like him.

“I was proud of his ancestry, as was he, and he was someone I really looked up to, in every aspect of who he was.”

Cooper helming a movie about the life of an acclaimed Jewish man has struck up a debate about Jewish representation on screen, and how often non-Jewish actors step into those roles (the famous composer and conductor was also known to have relationships with men, while Cooper is, for all we know, heterosexual). Just this year, in what will arguably be the prime contender at the Oscars, fellow Irish thespian Cillian Murphy all but became the Jewish father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Bernstein’s three children Jamie, Alexander, and Nina Bernstein have come forward to say they are fine with all of Cooper’s choices in the film and that they’re certain their father would have been, too. “Strident complaints about this issue strike us above all as disingenuous attempts to bring a successful person down a notch — a practice we observed perpetrated all too often on our father,” the siblings’ stated.

Maestro is now in theaters on a limited release and will arrive on Netflix on Dec. 20.
