It would be a dream come true, but at what cost?]]>
<![CDATA[

The MCU is reportedly eyeing Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston to lead their new X-Men team. Cranston is rumored to play Charles Xavier — the leader of the mutant academy and de facto soul of the entire franchise. e3a21

Some fans were excited by the news of this possibility. The source of the rumor is MyTimeToShineHello. Usually, there are a lot of rumors leading up to new MCU releases or casting announcements, and most fans tend to ignore them. But it’s different with this particular source. It’s worth noting that this was the same insider who first announced that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire would enter Spider-Man: No Way Home via a portal — well before it was even confirmed that the two would be in the movie. So there’s certainly some credibility to their past leaks. Hopefully they can give us some Spider-Man: Brand New Day leaks soon too.

As for Cranston, while there’s a temptation to dismiss the excitement as people just wanting to see him bald again, he arguably embodies Xavier more than he ever did Walter White. White was Cranston playing against type — that’s what made that performance so captivating. With every ing episode, White got a little worse. But when you watch Cranston in interviews — especially the ones where he gets ionate about politics — he’s actually a very convincing orator. And considering Xavier’s main strength is talking both heroes and villains off the ledge, this suggests Cranston could be a worthy successor to Sir Patrick Stewart. Many fans seem to feel that exact same way, with some posting photoshopped images of Cranston as Xavier and boldly proclaiming, “Let him cook!”

But there’s also a much less discussed aspect to this potential casting: weren’t these movies working best when they hired actors? One social media expressed how tired they were of seeing the “same faces.”

When the MCU grew into the force it is today, it got there through relatively less popular (at the time) names like Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth. These are household names now, but let’s not get it twisted — they weren’t before the MCU shone a light on their talent. Now, the franchise casts the Angelina Jolies and Christian Bales of the world. This shift in strategy has yielded very diminishing returns. There’s a specific way these movies work, and that’s by making the superhero the biggest star in the room. They’re meant to be bigger than any one movie — as they recur across franchises — and certainly bigger than any one particular movie star. Movie stars will always have their place in the greater cinematic landscape, but we probably don’t need Tom Hanks to be the next Magneto.

And besides, there’s the question of how long these films take to wrap. A movie star disappearing into the vast workings of Kevin Feige’s universe for the greater part of a decade, while not doing the kind of work we’d probably prefer seeing them in — the kind that opens the Cannes Film Festival or brings home an Oscar — is a real concern. For instance, does anyone really need Timothée Chalamet to appear in the MCU as the next Cyclops, or would that just be distracting?

If the formula isn’t broken, don’t fix it, Marvel.

We’ve all heard “Make America Great Again” so many times that it’s become background noise. Donald Trump has been spouting it since at least 2011, when he teased a future presidential run by saying, “I must leave all of my options open because, above all else, we must make America great again.”

Since then, it’s been emblazoned across millions of red hats, “MAGA” has become a term for the whole Trump movement, and looks set to go down in political history as one of the greatest campaign slogans of all time.

But Bryan Cranston is cutting to the chase and interrogating the statement directly. When exactly was this time America was “great">

Fortunately, “Make America Great Again” can never become a reality. It was never great, so any attempts to revert to some hazily imagined past can only fail. The reality will be some perverse mimicking of some old TV shows, a fantasy that’ll collapse under the slightest pressure. That doesn’t mean there’s not going to be pain, misery, and cruelty on the way, but one day this will all be over.

The Barry Levinson-directed noir mystery follows one of the most courageous crime reporters in American history.]]>
<![CDATA[

On November 22, 1963, then-president of the United States John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, forever altering the course of American history and, incidentally, American media. The tragedy is woven into tales across the narrative spectrum, from rather silly speculative fiction like The Umbrella Academy and Bubba Ho-Tep, to more grounded worlds like Oppenheimer and The Crown. Assassination sounds to be doing a bit of both, and it’s since locked in the players it needs to fly high.

The Barry Levinson-directed mystery thriller has added the likes of Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser, and Bryan Cranston onto a cast that already including Al Pacino. That’s nine Oscar wins between the five of them, and many more nominations; Oscars, of course, being some of the best buzz you can possibly have.

Assassination will focus on one Dorothy Kilgallen (likely played by Chastain), a highly prolific voice in the media at the time of JFK’s assassination. Dorothy, unconvinced by the claim that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, takes it upon herself to track down the true culprit behind the incident, inadvertently teeing herself up against the CIA, Mafia, and FBI in the process.

Of Kilgallen’s story, Levinson stated “Dorothy Kilgallen was the first female crime reporter in America. She was the only woman to ever cover the JFK case. The only reporter to speak with Jack Ruby [the nightclub owner who killed Oswald on live television two days after JFK’s murder]. With back-channel sources to the Warren Commission, she started putting pieces together that no one else did. She died under very suspicious circumstances, but it was never investigated.”

Kilgallen was found dead just under two years after the Kennedy assassination, reportedly from a combination of alcohol and an overdose of anti-depressants.

Producer Jason Sosnoff adds “We love the idea of exploring this topic through Dorothy’s perspective. She was relentless and courageous in pursuing the truth, and this film is as much her story as it is the uncovering of what happened that day in Dallas.”

The film will be a part of the inaugural slate of Concord Studios, a brand new production company launched by producer Pia Patatian (Manodrome), which intends to build up a reputation for “original and high-quality director-driven films for a theatrical audience.”

Alongside Sosnoff, Assassination will be produced by Corey Large (It Follows), and ing Patatian in the executive producing role is John Burham, Bernie Gewissler, and Jordan Nott. And in addition to directing, Levinson also penned the film’s script with David Mamet and Sam Bromell. Production will begin in early 2025 in Boston.

Levinson has won six Oscars over the course of his career, four of them coming from 1988’s Rain Man, and another two from 1991’s Bugsy. Altogether, the filmmaker has been nominated for 34 different Academy Awards.

Chastain’s Academy Award win came from her eponymous performance in 2021’s The Eyes of Tammy Faye, which also netted her a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Critics’ Choice Award. Fraser, for his part, won his Oscar on the back off 2022’s The Whale, wherein he portrayed the leading character Charlie (which, like Chastain, also won him a Screen Actors Guild Award).

Cranston, meanwhile, was nominated for the Oscar for his portrayal of screenwriter Dalton Trumbo in the 2015 film Trumbo, while Pacino’s came from his leading role in 1993’s Scent of a Woman (between Best Actor and Best ing Actor, Pacino has been Oscar-nominated on nine separate occasions).

Once loved for his charismatic screen presence, the actor's real life persona is a wake-up call for his fans.]]>
<![CDATA[

Rainn Wilson, best known for his role as Dwight Schrute in the hit TV series The Office, is facing a wave of criticism after a recent interaction with TikToker Liah Yoo went viral on social media.

It’s no secret that Dwight often speaks his mind without a filter, is confrontational, and frequently misses social cues and norms. Unfortunately, Wilson himself isn’t too far removed from this persona, as evidenced by his latest faux pas. During the brief but disastrous meet-and-greet, Wilson’s behavior towards Yoo was…well, nothing short of appalling.

He was rude, dismissive, and left her feeling like she’d been slapped in the face. As the footage of this train wreck spread across social media, it became glaringly obvious that this was not just a one-off incident.

Wilson’s interview with Billie Eilish, a die-hard fan of The Office, in 2020 provides further evidence of a troubling pattern of problematic behavior, especially when it comes to his interactions with “women.” Despite having binged the series an astonishing 15 times, Eilish fumbled with some of the questions. Instead of offering words of encouragement or , Wilson unleashed a verbal smackdown, telling her to “move on” and find a new show to obsess over. He also allegedly said he was meeting a “young man named Billy” and called the famous singer “William Eyelash.” Considering Eilish’s public struggles with body dysmorphia, Wilson’s choice to masculinize her name was not only inappropriate but also deeply insensitive.

A TikTok , @hopeyoufindyourdad, has been pivotal in bringing to light other instances of Wilson’s potentially misogynistic behavior. In one particularly cringeworthy instance, Wilson had YouTuber Trisha Paytas on his podcast, Soul Boom, to discuss the heavy topics of mental health and the internet’s impact. However, many of the actor’s responses were seen as insensitive and shaming, with the TikToker noting that he came across as pompous and desperate to prove himself.

This desperation to assert his worth seems to stem from Wilson’s insecurity about being primarily known for his role in The Office. As reported by Variety, Wilson has expressed dissatisfaction with being tied to the character of Dwight, which may explain (but certainly doesn’t justify) his insecure outburst toward other people.

@hopeyoufindyourdad highlights another interview with Bobby Althoff, a 27-year-old woman podcaster. In this interaction, Wilson was outright rude, insulting Althoff by saying, “no one watches your podcast beside little girls online.” The 58-year-old star basically implies that she was a nobody compared to him as he engaged in a form of one-upmanship, asking Althoff to prove her connections in the industry, which can be seen as demeaning and unnecessarily competitive.

TikTok s in the comments pointed out how Wilson’s insecurity was also on display in an interview with Bryan Cranston when he positioned himself on equal footing with the Breaking Bad protagonist. The TikTok s also noted how Wilson complained about how fans constantly pester him by bringing up his role as Dwight, assuming Cranston would commiserate about his iconic role as Walter White. However, Cranston’s response was a refreshing contrast to Wilson’s, as he expressed nothing but love and gratitude for the recognition.

“I love his interview with Bryan Cranston because he brings up fans annoying him constantly bringing up Dwight and assumes Bryan would agree with his role as Walter and Brian was like ‘nah I love it’,” one wrote. Another astutely noted how Cranston loves it when people recognize him as Malcolm’s dad from the sitcom series, Malcolm in the Middle – which Wilson seems incapable of reciprocating towards his own character.

Others reveled in the delicious moment when Cranston put Wilson in his place, deliberately calling him “Stephen.” One replied, “i loved this too. also how Bryan calls rainn by the wrong name and pisses rainn off,” while another called it one of their favorite “get over it” moment.

While Wilson’s insecurity with his career may shed some light on his behavior, it does not give him a free to mock women. The TikToker @hopeyoufindyourdad points out that Wilson was noticeably more pleasant to male comedian Pete Holmes in an interview compared to his interactions with female guests.

However, even in that interview, viewers couldn’t shake the feeling that Wilson spent most of the time tooting his own horn and bragging about his supposed greatness. So, what does all of this say about Rainn Wilson? While these resurfaced videos won’t really shake the actor’s place in the industry, it does tarnish his reputation and given the fact that he is not a big fan of being associated too much with his forever role of Dwight, he might want to do some damage control and soon.

Who would you pick to play Marvel's most infamous demon?]]>
<![CDATA[

New Marvel characters are being introduced with each fresh entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and there are only so many larger-than-life villains left to bring into the fold. One of these villains has already been teased, or at least hinted at, and fans are convinced that he’ll be popping up in an MCU project any day now. That villain is the master demon of Hell, Mephisto.

In the comic books, Mephisto has encountered and exploited many a hero by making deals with them, like infamously getting Peter Parker to wish away his marriage with Mary Jane Watson to save the life of his Aunt May, or making the pact with Johnny Blaze that led to him becoming Ghost Rider. If Mephisto were to the MCU, there are plenty of choices for who could play him. Given the hype around the series Agatha All Along, many Marvel fans believe this could be where Mephisto makes his first official appearance. If that does indeed happen, here are our top 12 choices for who should play the fiery foe.

12. George Clooney 406m6g

George Clooney in 'Up in the Air'

Look, Mephisto is someone who can get people to sign on the dotted line, right? Then he’ll need to be played by someone with charisma, and who’s more charismatic than George Clooney? Clooney has not touched a superhero role since Batman and Robin (or The Flash, if that counts), wherein he infamously played the Dark Knight before fleeing the hero scene entirely. If you can’t recall where else you’ve seen Clooney before, I have questions, as he’s the star of major titles like The Ides of March, Up in the Air, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and ER. Now in his silver fox era, Clooney could easily switch sides and play a villainous role more akin to the morally gray characters he usually plays, like Danny in the Ocean’s 11 franchise.

11. Sean Penn 6u4171

Sean Penn in 'The Gunman'
Image via Open Road Films

Even though Sean Penn is not necessarily known for playing bad guys, he has an aura that would make him perfect for Mephisto. The Milk actor is one of a few actors on this list who is quite selective of the roles he picks, and like many other Hollywood stars, there’s a chance he might not want to go down the Marvel path. The one thing that might work in his favor is that he recently starred in a miniseries called Gaslit. If Penn is willing to act on a TV series (something many actors avoided like the plague in a pre-streaming world), perhaps he’s willing to play in the Marvel sandbox under the right circumstances ⏤ Mephisto circumstances. (Insert devilish grin here.)

10. Daniel Day-Lewis 2d402c

Daniel Day-Lewis in 'Gangs of New York'
Image via Miramax Films

Regarded as one of the best actors of his generation, Daniel Day-Lewis would be a perfect Mephisto, although in all fairness, there aren’t many characters he wouldn’t be suited for. You know him from Gangs of New York, Lincoln, and There Will Be Blood, but the legendary actor retired after starring in Phantom Thread, making the chances of him coming out of retirement for a Marvel role quite low (unless he needs a new house or something). Day-Lewis is also perhaps the most famous method actor alive, so we’d hate to see him go to hell and back just to play Mephisto, but hey! It would be worth it, at least on our end.

9. Wes Bentley 64291k

Yellowstone Wes Bentley
Image via Paramount

Wes Bentley might be one of the more intriguing choices on this list, as he’s perhaps the least well-known. You most likely recognize him from Yellowstone, but he’s also made notable appearances in American Beauty, The Hunger Games, and Interstellar. Like a couple of the other actors on this list, he would nail the devilish look of Mephisto’s character, as evidenced by his Hunger Games character Seneca Crane. Curiously, Bentley has already appeared in the Marvel Universe, just not in the MCU. He played Blackheart in 2007’s Ghost Rider, the main villain in the movie and the son of Mephisto (as played by Peter Fonda). Thus, a contemporary Mephisto casting would be the perfect throwback, even if just for the satisfyingly full-circle multiversal cameo moment it would create.

8. Sacha Baron Cohen 6r2a4e

Sacha Baron Cohen in 'The Dictator'
Image via Four By Two Films

Sacha Baron Cohen might be the most interesting choice for Mephisto on this list, because there’s a chance he’s already been cast. You likely know the actor from the zany characters he’s played in the past ⏤ Borat, Ali G, Bruno ⏤ and while he’s mostly known for his comedic roles, it takes serious acting chops to expertly execute comedy. Cohen has also proven himself in more serious projects, including Sweeney Todd and his Oscar-nominated turn in The Trial of the Chicago 7, and his ability to juggle the two genres makes him perfect for a Marvel villain. It was previously rumored that Cohen might be playing a role in the Ironheart series, so whether he appears in Agatha or Ironheart, you won’t hear us objecting ⏤ especially if the role he ultimately plays comes complete with a lot of red and spiky black hair.

7. Al Pacino 4q272y

Al Pacino in Heat
Image via Warner Bros.

This choice might be a tad older than what Marvel Studios is looking for, but you can’t deny that Al Pacino would be an excellent Mephisto. You likely know the Oscar-winning actor from his roles in The Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon, and Scent of a Woman, and we already know he can pull off a devilish character following his turn in The Devil’s Advocate to see that. Again, Marvel is probably looking for somebody a bit younger to play the role in more than one project, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have the demon change his appearance (you know, like Marvel could have done with Kang) and get at least one Pacino version of the character. Just like being killed by your cat, it’s unlikely, but not impossible.

6. Bryan Cranston 6a51s

Breaking Bad Walt confronts Saul

You know who would make a terrific Mephisto? Walter White himself, Bryan Cranston. If you don’t know him from Breaking Bad, you might recognize him from Malcolm in the Middle, Argo, or his newest series, Your Honor. If we’ve learned anything from Cranston’s performance as White, it’s that he has range ⏤ range enough to go from playing a relatively normal person to a villain at the drop of a hat. It does seem weird that neither Marvel nor DC has tapped the actor for a role in either superhero franchise, at least that we know about, but if Marvel gets to him first, we’ve got our money on him playing a meanie. Cranston would bring customary depth to Mephisto, which is why we wouldn’t be mad if he stuck around for several MCU appearances.

5. Denzel Washington 185se

Denzel Washington in 'The Equalizer'

Known for his roles in Fences, The Equalizer, Glory, American Gangster, and Malcolm X, Denzel Washington would make an unprecedented Mephisto. He might not be the most conventional choice for the role, as he doesn’t resemble the comic book version of the character, but if you simplify Mephisto down to his actions and nature, Washington would be more than able to execute. Like Penn, however, he’s an actor whose prestige might stop him from snagging a role in a superhero film, or he might not have been offered the right opportunity. Either way, Mephisto would be the perfect character for Washington to portray, as it would allow him to chew on some scenery and inhabit one of the best villains the MCU has to offer.

4. Tom Hardy w333j

Tom Hardy in

Tom Hardy is best known for his roles in The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Venom. He’s proven himself to be a versatile actor with performances that often sizzle with a raw, visceral energy. Given how iconic his version of Bane became (who can forget that voice?), his portrayal of Mephisto would inevitably be as charismatic as it would be terrifying. Hardy’s chameleonic ability as an actor (how charming was he in Inception?) would allow him to explore the many layers of Mephisto’s character, from his cunning manipulations to his underlying malevolence. Whether he’s delivering sly, devilish quips or unleashing his full wrath, Hardy could easily become one of the most memorable faces to battle the Avengers, especially after playing the lovable Eddie Brock for six years.

3. Joaquin Phoenix 671n31

Joaquin Phoenix

The people’s Joker is about to make an epic on-screen return in the form of Joker: Folie à Deux, but that doesn’t mean Joaquin Phoenix is limited only to DC villainy. He did such a captivating job bringing Arthur Fleck to life that he won a freaking Oscar for his performance, and that kind of gravitas should not be confined to only one superheroic universe. Sure, it would likely cost Marvel a pretty penny, but Phoenix would be a natural fit for the MCU’s Mephisto. You already know he’d bring a unique take to the table ⏤ so unique, in fact, that it has the potential to blow previous villainous appearances like Josh Brolin’s Thanos and Cate Blanchett’s Hela out of the water. Whether or not Phoenix would be willing to step into another big bad’s shoes is another story, but if he did decide to embrace Mephisto, it would truly be our gain.

2. Javier Bardem 6r3h5u

Oh, Javier. That trident-wielding, eat-pray-loving, No Country For Old Men James Bond baddie. The guy can do it all, and has. He’s an Oscar-winning phenomenon who gives every fiber of his being to every role he plays. Javier Bardem as Mephisto? Sweetie. You know that would be next-level. Bardem is no stranger to villainy, and at this point in his career, it would be refreshing for him to find the deliciously devilish notes in Mephisto as opposed to going directly for the jugular like he tends to with his bad guys. Bardem would be adept at balancing the darkness with the wicked glee, both of which are crucial for embodying this character. He’s already got that sinister gleam in his eye; now he just needs the chance to unleash the devil within.

1. Keanu Reeves 3311m

Keanu Reeves in John Wick

Ladies and gentlemen, our #1 choice for Mephisto: the one and only Keanu Reeves. He’s no stranger to brooding rabble-ros, but as time has shown us, we tend to see playing the hero. How refreshing would it be to see him swoop in and wreak utter havoc in the MCU? In this character’s shoes, he would have the opportunity to throw the Neo and John Wick rulebooks out the window and start a fresh era as the last guy you’d want to meet in a dark alley. Now that Jonathan Majors is officially done as Kang, it’s time for someone else to step up as the multi-project big bad before Robert Downey Jr. makes his grand reappearance and dominates the MCU all over again. Reeves is that person, and he has the star (and staying) power to dominate at least a few series and films before Downey’s Doom takes the mantle (or partners up with him so they can take over the universe together ⏤ could you imagine?). Whoever becomes Mephisto, any one of these 12 actors would make excellent choices. Now we just need Marvel to knock it off with the breadcrumbs and commit to bringing this demon to the screen already.

Are you waiting for Bryan Cranston to come back too?]]>
<![CDATA[

One of Showtime‘s best-performing legal dramas has been out of our sights since March 2023. Bryan Cranston‘s post-Breaking Bad hit series Your Honor gave fans a memorable two seasons of thrilling drama and left them craving for more. But is a third season anywhere in sight?

Your Honor first premiered on Showtime in Dec. 2020, initially planned and marketed as a miniseries. The show follows Bryan Cranston as Michael Desiato, a prominent and respected New Orleans judge who manipulated the law after his son accidentally killed the son of a mob kingpin. Desiato starts a perilous game of hiding, lying, and maintaining secrets to protect his son, leading to tragic and fatal consequences.

The two-season show was originally adapted from the Israeli TV series Kvodo, and was well-crafted in of the plot, characters, and setting. While fans want more of the legal crime drama, it’s important to understand whether a third season would even make sense now, with whatever has happened thus far in the series.

Your Honor seasons 1 and 2 recap 6nr73

The first season, consisting of 10 episodes, concluded in Feb. 2021 with the death of Desiato’s son Adam. However, Showtime brought the show back with a second season since it brought the platform “higher ratings than any other series they’ve ever had.” The second season then made a grand premiere on Jan. 15, 2023, and captivated the audience again till its conclusion with the 10th episode on March 19, 2023.

In the second season, Desiato turns into an undercover agent spying on the mob while searching for the person responsible for his wife’s ing. The drama unfolds leading our hero down a hazardous rabbit hole. At Eugene’s murder trial, Desiato comes clean about everything, including his cover-up of Adam killing Rocco Baxter. With his crimes publicly exposed, Michael is sent back to prison to serve out his sentence, but our hero is satisfied with fate.

With Michael Desiato’s narrative all wrapped up, can the story of Your Honor be continued for season 3?

Is Your Honor canceled? 4361x

On Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast in July 2022, Bryan Cranston was reported saying that the second season would be Your Honor‘s final season. (via TVLine) This was followed by a discussion hosted by Deadline in April 2023, where Cranston said that Showtime was “interested” in a third season, and that his remarks from the Armchair Expert podcast had been misinterpreted.

However, Cranston confirmed that he might only be involved as a producer in any future seasons, as his character arc has taken a full circle already, content with his fate at the prison. Having said that, Your Honor was always planned as a miniseries, and it went overboard its designated run with the second season. So, Your Honor will not be returning with another season, having completed its course.

The show was visualized with a definite end in sight, and concluded the plot in line with the creator’s plans. So, season 2 was the finale of Your Honor, and any attempts at season 3 would more or less blow the story out of proportion. However, a spin-off may be possible, turning the narrative into a prison drama, and following Judge Michael Desiato’s life in prison.

Why does Gus want to kill Walter in ‘Breaking Bad?’ 6s4iy https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/why-does-gus-want-to-kill-walter-in-breaking-bad/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/why-does-gus-want-to-kill-walter-in-breaking-bad/#respond <![CDATA[Taylor Mansfield]]> Thu, 09 Nov 2023 14:47:05 +0000 <![CDATA[TV]]> <![CDATA[Breaking Bad]]> <![CDATA[Bryan Cranston]]> <![CDATA[giancarlo esposito]]> <![CDATA[Gustavo Fring]]> <![CDATA[walter white]]> https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1159536 <![CDATA[
Where do I even begin?]]>
<![CDATA[

Neo-western drama Breaking Bad was an enormous success during its captivating run on AMC from 2008 to 2013.

A major key to this success was the inclusion of an ensemble cast portraying extraordinary characters, including antihero Gustavo “Gus” Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). Gus was first introduced in the second season of Breaking Bad, after Saul Goodman informs Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) that he “knows a guy who knows a guy,” seeing as the two needed a more stable distribution operation for their home-cooked crystal meth.

At first, Gus is extremely hesitant to work with Walter because he willingly associates himself with Jesse who, at the time, was using drugs as a coping mechanism for the death of his girlfriend, Jane. Gus considered Jesse to be too much of a high-risk for his secretive drug empire. Walt eventually convinced Gus to hire him, though Gus insisted that Walt work with trusted chemist Gale Boetticher rather than Jesse, to which Walt agreed.

Walt and Jesse’s “Blue Sky” meth recipe was nearly perfect, maintaning a high quality and constantly satisfying customers. This undoubtedly pleased Gus, which resulted in him — and Walt and Jesse — becoming insanely wealthy in the process.

So, why did Gus want to kill Walt? 3e31o

Over time, the relationship between Walt and Gus deteriorated significantly. Walt organized the murder of Gale, had a brother-in-law in the DEA, and was far too intelligent and arrogant for his own good. In simpler , Walt and Gus were far too alike in regards to both individuals wanting to be the boss and in total control.

Both men were aware of their own greatness and both believed that they deserved to be in charge, and simply put, each would do absolutely anything to prove it to the other. As a result, Gus saw this as a real threat, considering Walt always had Jesse by his side, whereas Gus could never fully convince Jesse to betray Walt despite his constant efforts. Of course, the season 3 finale, “Full Measure,” was the perfect indication of this, with Walter forcing Jesse to shoot and kill Gale Boetticher — who was dangerously close to replacing Walt as Gus’ leading meth manufacturer.

Walt eventually became an extreme risk to Gus’ drug operation, seeing as Hank Schrader was beginning to ask too many questions and catching on to Gus’ suspicious activity, as seen in the “Crawl Space” episode. Additionally, Walt’s ego began to grow while under Gus’ control, and Gus knew that Walt would eventually become just as unpredictable and untrustworthy as Jesse initially was.

At first, Gus fired Walt and ordered him to stay away from the lab, proclaiming that Jesse would be in charge of the cooking. However, Jesse was extremely loyal to Walt and wouldn’t cook without him. Thus, Gus hatched a plan to kill Walt, though Walt ultimately beat him to the punch in “Face Off.” Damn, what a show.

It seems Henry Cavill is gearing up for another spy adventure!]]>
<![CDATA[

Fans are finally getting concrete info about Henry Cavill‘s spy-thriller Argylle. The film, set for a February 2 release date next year, boasts a heavyweight roster of Hollywood talent.

Aside from starring Cavill, the film also features Samuel L. Jackson, John Cena, Catherine O’Hara, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston, and that’s just naming a few.

The movie will have a story-within-a-story type plot. Cavill’s titular character looks to be a suave master spy who fits several genre tropes. However, he seems to be a creation of Howard’s character, Elly Conway, an author. The film seems set to follow Argylle and Conway as their adventures parallel, and the latter discovers her writing may have real-life ramifications.

Argylle finally has a trailer 5b5u6q

Argylle will be released by Universal Pictures and Apple Original Films. The movie will land in Apple TV Plus’ catalogue at a later date after its theatrical release. The film has dropped its first full-length trailer, finally giving fans glimpses into the plot and characters.

The spy flick will be directed by Matthew Vaughn. The British director is no stranger to the genre, having helmed The Kingsman franchise.

Possibly befitting the secrecy of the spy world, Argylle‘s production was one shrouded in confusion and mystery. The film is supposedly based on a book that has yet to be released … by an author named Elly Conway. The novel is apparently set for a January 9 release; The Hollywood Reporter previously reported on how little is known about the author, who looks to share a name with Howard’s character. What’s even more strange is that Apple allegedly dropped $200 million for the book’s movie rights … and the book is still not out.

This type of elusiveness and secrecy has befuddled fans and critics for a couple of years now. Regardless, it seems the pieces to this puzzle are finally coming together.

It's still beloved to this day.]]>
<![CDATA[

Highly regarded as one of the greatest television shows of all time, it certainly isn’t a huge surprise to once again witness Breaking Bad hypnotizing television fans all around the nation and creeping back into public headlines. Centering around an engaging narrative which focused on high-school-teacher-turned-drug-kingpin Walter White (Bryan Cranston), the ever-popular series transcended the realm of television and introduced a variety of unforgettable characters and pulse-pounding moments throughout its five seasons.

Even years later, Vince Gilligan’s crime-drama masterpiece continues to carry a strong following of thrill-seeking viewers which have remained involved in the narrative every step of the way. Of course, that familiar narrative was carried out in Better Call Saul and El Camino — both of which are considered favored pieces of media. And with a recent homemade “teaser trailer” hinting at what could happen if Breaking Bad 2 were brought to fruition, tons of interest is now surrounding the captivating series.

When did Breaking Bad originally release? 255j4m

The first season of Breaking Bad initially premiered all the way back in January 2008, with the show’s first season quietly debuting and not really gathering much of an audience. From there, the low-key brilliance of the show was spotted and a few more seasons premiered before the series hit its absolute peak during the fifth and final season. However, it’s worth noting that Breaking Bad was beginning to gain traction in the middle of the fourth season — especially due to that mind-blowing season finale where Gus Fring is killed.

As previously mentioned, the success of the series eventually resulted in 5 seasons in total, with the show’s groundbreaking final season being split into two parts, with the final half being released in September 2013. Considering the aforementioned finale, titled “Felina,” was originally watched by over 10 million U.S. viewers, it hardly comes as a major surprise that the topic of Breaking Bad is still sitting right at the surface.

As of now, it’s unclear whether Breaking Bad 2 will ever actually happen, but die-hards certainly wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.

Who knew Walter White and Ariana Madix had so much in common?]]>
<![CDATA[

An actor of Bryan Cranston‘s caliber can elevate any dialogue material into an Emmy-worthy performance, even if it’s derived from so-called “trash TV.”

Fans of the reality series Vanderpump Rules will the iconic stand-off between stars and former lovers Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval in the season finale of the show. On the show, Watch What Happens Live, Cranston — a five-time Emmy Winner for his role as Walter White in Breaking Bad — reenacted the scene with all the drama of prestige television.

Cranston appeared on the show with Asteroid City co-star Maya Hawke and was tasked by host Andy Cohen to do a dramatic reading of the scene as his character in the new movie narrates the film. Ever the professional, Cranston was ready to give it his all — despite never having seen Vanderpump Rules or knowing who Ariana and Sandoval are.

Presented with a script of Ariana’s rage-fueled monologue, Cranston stood up sensationally and delivered the scene with a level of dramatic flair suitable for a Shakespeare production. Set to a stirring score, the monologue was practically a tear-jerker.

“I’ve been with you for nine years. when you were f**king wearing combat boots and skinny jeans” Cranston read, holding back his rage and upset. “Now you’ve got a little bit of money. Little bar, little band. And this girl is going to act enamored with you? Cause that’s what you want. You want someone to just gas you up. You’re worth nothing!” the actor continued.

Cranston finished with flair. “I regret loving you,” he said, his voice quivering with a degree of emotion and dramaturgy that would even make Heisenberg himself proud. His monologue was met with rapturous applause by the audience, with Cohen yelling, “Give the man an Emmy!”.

Though the video in question is weeks old, it is still a topic of discussion amongst Cranston fans and it’s evident how people couldn’t get enough of the video. Many on Twitter have ired the actor’s dedication to the bit, with one calling him “the last great thespian.” The clip was a perfect example of Bryan’s ability to balance comedy with drama, as shown in his role as Hal in Malcolm in the Middle — the first show to make the actor a household name.

There are many who are beyond impressed with how easily Cranston picked up on Ariana’s mannerisms and tone without actually seeing the show for himself. Even done as a silly joke in the clubhouse playhouse, the impression shows why the Academy Award nominee is so revered by fans and fellow actors.

Plus, Disney's $5 million class action lawsuit finally comes to a head.]]>
<![CDATA[

You didn’t need to be a physic to know that Bob Iger’s comments a couple of weeks back about the SAG-AFTRA strike was going to make waves in the entertainment industry, but it looks like the Disney CEO has officially ended up on the wrong side of a Breaking Bad legend’s opinion.

Speaking of wrong sides (you’ll know what we mean in a second), the digital release of The Little Mermaid has sparked unanimous critique over one key component of Ariel’s modern appearance. Halle Bailey is wonderful, but if Disney had just embraced its inner 90s kid, all would be right in the world.

And because a company as massive as Disney can’t go a day without getting sued, that class-action lawsuit involving the Magic Key annual program at Disneyland has finally reached the next stage in its development. So, without further ado, let’s dive in.

Jenale Nielsen of Santa Clara County filed a $5 million lawsuit against Disney in 2021 after she purchased the Dream Key annual (the highest tier at the time) only to discover that it came with blackout dates in November despite being d as having zero blackout dates. This was shortly after Disney announced its new Magic Key program at Disneyland (formally known as the annual program). The Dream Key annual has since been replaced with the Inspire Key, the resort’s most expensive . Nielsen is accusing Disney of deceiving its guests. The details of the settlement have not been disclosed yet, but it could result in payouts to other Magic Key holders or even a change to the program. However, theme park blog Mice Chat said, “We’re keeping an eye on it, but don’t expect to get rich on your payout.”

The Little Mermaid became available on VOD today, which means those who haven’t seen the movie yet are finally ing Ariel’s world. The VOD release also comes with a plethora of behind-the-scenes footage, including neat concept art that inspired Ariel’s final look. The sneak peek ended up opening Pandora’s box after fans realized Ariel was originally supposed to have a side part and her hair was supposed to be a deeper color red. A bold claim by one diehard Ariel fan even suggested the film would’ve hit a billion dollars at the box office had Ariel simply had deeper red hair and a hard side part. That’s right, what stood between The Little Mermaid and the box office Hall of Fame was simply the wrong hairstylist. What a shame.

Bryan Cranston takes it all the way to the top, speaks directly to Bob Iger at SAG-AFTRA rally y6e5n

Bryan Cranston is an actor for the actors. The Breaking Bad legend left it all on the field during an imioned speech at a SAG-AFTRA rally in Times Square when he directed his ire at Disney’s CEO. “We’ve got a message for Mr. Iger,” he said, eliciting shouts and whistles (and even some boos). “We don’t expect you to understand who we are, but we ask you to hear us and, beyond that, to listen to us when we tell you we will not be having our jobs taken away and given to robots.” Cranston’s comments come in the wake of Iger’s bombshell interview two weeks prior, in which he called the demands of the SAG-AFTRA union unrealistic and “disruptive.” Given that Iger makes $27 million a year and some union barely make above the poverty line, he’s turned into quite the villain of this story. A story of his own making, one might add.

Cranston is the latest to rail against Bob Iger and his $78,000-a-day salary.]]>
<![CDATA[

He is the danger — when it comes to sending messages to Disney CEO Bob Iger, that is. Breaking Bad and Malcolm in the Middle star Bryan Cranston gave an imioned speech at a SAG-AFTRA rally in of the ongoing strike for better wages and protection in the streaming and AI era.

“We’ve got a message for Mr. Iger. I know, sir, that you look [at] things through a different lens. We don’t expect you to understand who we are, but we ask you to hear us, and beyond that to listen to us, when we tell you we will not be having our jobs taken away and given to robots.”

It gets better: “We will not have you take away our right to work and earn a decent living. And lastly, and most importantly, we will not allow you to take away our dignity.”

At the end of his rallying cry, he asked for unity within the union.

“We are union, through and through, all the way to the end,” Cranston said. “Stay together. We will win this fight.”

Cranston wasn’t the only one who took to the podium to rally the troops. Other speakers included Steve Buscemi, Stephen Lang, Tituss Burgess, and Christian Slater. The event was called “SAG-AFTRA – Rock the City For A Fair Contract.”

Here’s another look:

The fact that Bob Iger gets about $27 million a year but can’t seem to find any more money to pay actors and writers has been a real point of contention for the strikers. In a recent interview at a getaway for billionaires in Idaho, Iger said the strike was “very disturbing” and that the wants were “not realistic.”

“I respect their right and their desire to get as much as they possibly can in compensation for their people. But you also have to be realistic about the business environment and what this business can deliver. It is and has been a great business for all of these people and it will continue to be even through disruptive times. But, being realistic is imperative here.”

In a live stream interview with Senator Bernie Sanders, SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher called those comments “terribly repugnant and out of touch, positively tone-deaf.”

“There he is, sitting in his designer clothes and just got on his private jet at the billionaire’s camp, telling us we’re unrealistic when he’s making $78,000 a day. How do you deal with someone like that who’s so tone-deaf?”

The strike, which started on July 14 for actors, is ongoing.
