Avengers: Doomsday has been under fire after revelations that filming began weeks ago, yet some of its cast—including Kelsey Grammer—haven’t seen a complete script. Grammer, returning as Beast, dropped this tidbit during a podcast appearance. This wouldn’t be too concerning if the film weren’t already two weeks into production.

Marvel making things up as they go is hardly breaking news. Jeff Bridges, who played Obadiah Stane in Iron Man (2008), described the production as “chaotic” with an unfinished script and daily on-set scene revisions.

Meanwhile, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reportedly underwent major rewrites during production to accommodate scheduling conflicts and evolving plotlines. Thor: Love and Thunder saw scenes and subplots cut or reworked mid-shoot, with Christian Bale later revealing that much of his character’s backstory as Gorr the God Butcher didn’t make it into the final film. Even Black Widow, which was delayed multiple times, had to rework certain elements to maintain relevance within the MCU’s timeline.

While the situation has left many scratching their heads, Danny Ramirez seems to be taking the chaos in stride. After his breakout role in Top Gun: Maverick, Ramirez has quickly established himself as one of Hollywood’s rising stars. When a fan directly accused the film of shooting without a script, Ramirez responded with a cryptic quip about “a cultural phenomenon called Fin De Semana” (Spanish for “weekend”). It was cheeky, it was vague, and it was 100% Marvel-level trolling.

In a roundabout way, Ramirez is suggesting that maybe people should take a breath and step away from the rabbit hole of baseless rumors. 

While the actor is busy shutting down rumors, speculation about Avengers: Doomsday’s cast continues to swirl. Paul Rudd is confirmed to return as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. Evangeline Lilly might reprise her role as Hope Van Dyne, though she’s reportedly stepped back from acting in recent years. Whether she’ll make a full-fledged return or simply pop in for a cameo alongside Rudd is anyone’s guess. Another name making headlines is Kat Dennings, who plays Darcy Lewis. Recent photos of Dennings holding Captain America’s shield have sent fans into a frenzy. 

But for every confirmed or rumored name, there are just as many glaring omissions. The absence of key players like Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) has fans wondering whether Doomsday will focus on introducing new heroes rather than relying on old favorites. With 18 months to go before the film’s release, there’s still plenty of time for Marvel to announce surprises—but for now, the uncertainty is only adding fuel to the rumor fire.

Anthony Mackie might have stepped on some toes in a recent interview where he threw some shade at his forever bro Sebastian Stan. The Captain America: Brave New World actor named Stan as his least talented scene partner, and we aren’t having it. But anyone familiar with Hollywood’s favorite bromance won’t help but laugh, especially when you hear Mackie’s reasons.

Just like Sam and Bucky in the MCU, Mackie and Stan love to tease each other, so when Mackie was asked a particular question during the Brave New World press tour, his answer didn’t surprise anyone. 

Mackie and his Brave New World co-star, Danny Ramirez, stopped by the set of First We Feat, for an episode of Hot Ones Versus. The pair had to ask each other questions, and if the other couldn’t answer, they had to eat a spicy wing. Mackie already had Ramirez on the ropes, after fearlessly answering any questions lobbed at him, no matter who he offended, but fans really thought Ramirez had him on this one. The question read, “Rank these Captain America scene partners from most to least talented: Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Danny Ramirez.” 

Unfortunately for Ramirez, Mackie was willing to welcome the smoke, and emphatically answered. “Chris Evans, Danny Ramirez, **** Sebastian Stan,” he said. Knowing how much the two love to tease each other, it wasn’t a surprise that Mackie would put Stan at the bottom of that list, just for laughs. He also went on to list his hilarious reasons for putting Stan at the bottom. “He got a Golden Globe, an Oscar nomination… he got a new girlfriend– he’s got everything.”

If you’re not familiar with Mackie and Stan’s bromance, or “Stacky,” as their fans have dubbed them, his ranking of Stan at the bottom might seem mean. But, it is just a rollover of their decade-plus-long bromance, from when they first shared the screen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. While their characters had some funny on-screen moments during the movie, it was the actor’s chemistry during the press tour and on red carpets that solidified the pairing. 

They have countless inside jokes, memes, and running gags, such as Mackie’s love for Stans’s couch, Stan teasing Mackie over not being able to use social media, and Mackie fawning over Stan’s “steel blue eyes” that “let you know where home is.” 

Despite constantly poking fun at each other, their friendship is undeniably full of love and . Both actors have appeared on each other’s projects’ red carpets and shown nothing but pride for the other over their achievements. Mackie isn’t even as bitter at Stan’s Oscar nom, as he suggested in the Hot Ones Versus. After all, during another interview with On Demand Entertainment, he proudly raved about how he had a huge party planned to celebrate the nomination, regardless of whether Stan won or not. 

This is a bromance that we’ll never tire of, and we’ll be eagerly waiting for the next time Mackie crashes one of Stan’s red carpet interviews.

As per Empire, a new still from Brave New World has been unveiled which offers our first glimpse at the MCU’s Falcon 2.0. Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez debuted as Joaquin Torres in Falcon and the Winter Soldier and, just like in the comics, he will take on Sam’s old mantle in Brave New World to operate as the new Cap’s partner in crime-fighting.

Director Julius Onah was on hand to promise that the friendship that forms between Sam and Torres is one of the movie’s biggest emotional threads. “There’s this incredible big brother/little brother dynamic between them,” Onah said when describing the partnership between the two heroes. “It’s going to be one of the key emotional centers of the film.”

According to Onah, Sam will bring a lot of experience to the table, but at the same time his greener sidekick will teach him a thing or two as they come up against some serious new challenges. Those challenges may just take the shape of a red-hued Han Solo Hulk and Tim Blake Nelson’s the Leader, returning for the first time since The Incredible Hulk.

“These guys are incredible fighters,” Onah continued. “And Sam has been there and back. He’s got some tricks up his sleeve, and over the course of the film there are things he comes to learn that become other tools in his arsenal, when he’s facing even the most impossible of threats.”

As much as Stan’s absence smarts, it sounds like we could be about to witness the birth of another iconic Marvel bromance in Sam and Torres. Sam taking on a sidekick is also a moving marker for how much he’s evolved in this franchise since his own debut in 2014’s The Winter Soldier, when he himself played second fiddle to Steve Rogers’ Sentinel of Liberty. That said, if Bucky doesn’t turn up for at least a cameo, we’ll be more red-faced with anger than Ford’s President Ross.

Captain America: Brave New World is coming on Feb. 14, 2025, while Stan’s own Thunderbolts* will follow on May 2.

Captain America: New World Order is currently before the cameras, and unlike many other ongoing Marvel Studios productions, doesn’t seem to be heavily affected by the ongoing writers’ strike. The primary shoot is expected to wrap a month from now so there’s still a lot to do, though all indications are that it’s coming together nicely.

The movie will pick up where Disney Plus show The Falcon and the Winter Soldier left off, with Danny Ramirez’ Joaquín Torres being handed the mantle of the Falcon now that Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson has a full-time job wielding the shield. As in the streaming series, the pair will be working as a team both in and out of costume, as indicated by these set pics of the pair in civilian mode.

New World Order looks set to be Marvel Studios’ centerpiece production next year, but right now it seems to be unexpectedly turning into a semi-sequel to 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Liv Tyler is back as Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson is finally returning to play the Leader. That – coupled with Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross being thrown into the mix – makes us wonder whether they’re keeping an appearance from Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk under wraps.

Rumors have been swirling for years about a potential World War Hulk adaptation from Marvel Studios, so perhaps New World Order could be the stealth setup for the comeback of the smash-happy Savage Hulk. Either way, we’re just hoping Mackie’s new Cap doesn’t get lost in the mix, as he still has a lot of work to do before he can live up to Steve Rogers’ world-saving antics.

Fans have been treated on Twitter as Danny Ramirez’s shares a progress pic in preparation for his debut in Captain America: New World Order.

The MCU has its fair share of sidekicks for the audience to ogle at and it looks like that list is going to be expanding as Ramirez gave fans a glimpse of his transformation for his role. The actor shared the pic with a caption poking fun at fellow MCU star Jonathan Majors.

Majors may have set the bar high but it looks like Ramirez is aiming for the sky as he’s set to play the new incarnation of the Falcon. We’ve already seen Ramirez appear alongside Sam Wilson and Bucky in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in which his character, Joaquin Torres, aided Sam and provided intelligence. Since his first appearance it looks like he’s been spending a lot of time at the gym and it’s paid off.

Thirsty fans swarmed to the post and swooned over his chiseled abs and muscles, with many calling Ramirez “Papi” presumably because the title of “Daddy” already belongs to someone else at the moment.

The film itself will follow Sam as he adapts to being the new Captain America. Meanwhile, we know that General Thaddeus will be returning to the MCU as the villainous Red Hulk, although he’ll be played by Harrison Ford since William Hurt sadly ed away last year. So SamCap will likely need a few allies on his side, especially Joaquin Torres.

Aside from his appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ramirez also starred in Top Gun: Maverick, meaning he should be well accustomed to playing characters who can fly by now. The film isn’t due out for another year so he still has plenty of time to get even more jacked by then.

Sam Wilson has taken up the mantle of Captain America in the MCU, with his adventures set to continue in Captain America: New World Order in May 2024. Now that he’s worthy of holding the title, his former code name of Falcon has also been ed down to his friend Joaquín Torres.

In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier we met Danny Ramirez as Torres, with Wilson handing over the damaged EXO-7 Falcon wings to him and telling him to “keep ’em”. Ramirez is confirmed to appear in New World Order, potentially setting him up for a long and prosperous future in the MCU, just like Mackie before him.

Even with this success, Ramirez has noted that life still isn’t easy for a Latino actor in Hollywood. On Twitter, he recounted how he’d recently gotten to the final stages of auditions for a Latino character, only to find that at the last moment they decided they should rewrite the character to be a “white guy”:

Fortunately, it seems like there’s a push for color-blind casting in Hollywood at the moment. We recently learned that The Last of Us considered casting Mahershala Ali as Joel before going with Pedro Pascal, with Marvel Studios reportedly wanting to diversify its casting as much as possible in future phases (the current rumor is for Dev Patel as Reed Richards in Fantastic Four).

That said, this is a depressing story, and we can understand Ramirez’ frustration that a Latino role can be completely rewritten to accommodate a White actor. Would the same happen the other way? Probably not, but maybe we’re moving in that direction.

The two biggest talking points coming out of Captain America: New World Order‘s appearance at the weekend’s D23 Expo hinted that we could be in for a polarizing ride, given that there was overwhelming positivity and controversy in equal measure.

Fans were overjoyed to discover that a tease made in the summer of 2008 will finally be paid off 16 years later following the announcement of Tim Blake Nelson’s long-awaited comeback as the Leader, while on the other side of the coin, the casting of Shira Haas as Israeli superhero Sabra has generated a wave of hot takes and thoughts.

Unfortunately, that’s left Top Gun: Maverick star Danny Ramirez overshadowed a little bit, with the rising star’s Joaquin Torres confirmed to be donning his own set of wings as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s new Falcon, paying off another breadcrumb that was dropped during The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Speaking to ComicBook‘s Phase Zero, it doesn’t sound as though Ramirez is too bothered being typecast as the guy who soars through the air in massive blockbusters packed with top-tier talent on either side of the camera.

“I’m excited, man. It’s walking out there and everyone just loves him. To receive that love is just so unique of an experience. rom independent to Captain America: New World Order, just walking out and just being called my name by Kevin [Feige] was nuts. It was crazy.”

Anthony Mackie might be upset that Sebastian Stan ended up in Thunderbolts and not New World Order, but Torres provides another potential bromantic interest for the star-spangled Avenger, who faces a tough task of his own stepping into Chris Evans’ shoes as the lead.

Danny Ramirez is getting honest about an intense fear he had before filming Top Gun: Maverick.

While you might assume that flight isn’t an issue for the stars of a film about aviation, Ramirez was “deathly afraid” of flying before he landed the role — an emotion he tried to ignore until he had no choice but to face it.

“You guys are the next big stars; you guys have to take this to the next level – it’s this beautiful beautiful speech that he hypes us up with, and I have never felt more inspired in that moment, and then just like that, he pops out of his helmet zips away.”

He laughed and said he wondered if it was real at all for a moment, but it’s undeniably a scene he’ll play out in his head again and again.

Top Gun: Maverick‘s Danny Ramirez knows that it took 36 years to get a Top Gun sequel. Therefore, he doesn’t think we’ll be getting a third film anytime soon.

Ramirez, who plays fighter pilot Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia in the film, told Variety that, although they probably won’t make another sequel “arbitrarily,” the right minds could certainly develop the right story:

“It took a while to get the sequel… to get Top Gun: Maverick going because there’s no point in doing a story arbitrarily. And I think Tom [Cruise] waited for the technology and the story to find this beautiful point of intersection where the right story, the right sequel, could be told. So I think unless we find a way to push the limit, there might not be a space for a third. But I’m excited for what minds could create in order to be able to push that limit a step further…

Right now I’m still telling everyone, ‘Watch this one. Before we think of the next one, watch it, and then watch it again, and then watch it a third time and a fourth time.'”

Asked directly if he’s in “active development on a Paramount Plus series,” Ramirez replied, “Not that I’m aware of. I haven’t been told yet, but I’d take to the skies in a heartbeat.”

If it takes as long to get a third installment as it did to get a second, Top Gun: 3 will premiere in 2058.

Top Gun: Maverick is soaring into theaters today, and actor Danny Ramirez ed the cast of Good Morning America to talk about the high-octane film and its emotional storyline.

Ramirez brings Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia to life in the acclaimed sequel, a trainee pilot in the program headed by none other than Tom Cruise’s titular veteran. It was a feat so incredible that it’s changed the way he plans to act in the future, especially regarding stunts.

At first, Ramirez was scared of flying, but now he can’t wait to get back in the thick of the action, while’s also planning to change up the way he handles his stunts.

Michael Strahan pointed out that the film has a 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and Ramirez himself sang its praises — especially the infectious energy of the movie. He, of course, shared that being mentored by Cruise was a dream in every sense of the word, and he hopes to keep that relationship open for the long haul.

Ramirez has previously about working with Cruise on what he described as “a beautiful journey”. He said the veteran star is someone who presents as an open book where lessons in acting and life are concerned, and he was willing to share those with the cast through the entire process. If you want to build a successful career in Hollywood, then there aren’t many better people to learn from than someone like Cruise, who’s seen and done it all.
