If you’re a 90s kid then you know who Drake Bell is. The star of Nickelodeon’s hit show Drake & Josh has gone on to have an extremely successful career in entertainment, but he’s still open to returning to his roots if it’s the right story — or perhaps if it’s a different altogether.

Drake & Josh ran for 56 episodes starting in 2004 and concluding in 2007, and was popular enough to spawn a pair of spinoff movies. During that time, it was one of the most popular shows on the children’s entertainment network and something that a whole generation of fans still love today. Alongside Bell, the series also starred Josh Peck, who formed the other half of the titular duo of teenage stepbrothers forced to live together despite being completely different.

When speaking recently on the Beyond the Velvet Rope podcast, Bell expressed his excitement to return to the series and work alongside Peck again, but his vision for a reboot feels less like Drake & Josh and more like Curb Your Enthusiasm.

“I have a really special place in my heart for Drake & Josh and I would love to revisit the character. I’d love to revisit something with Josh, whether it’s a reboot or… my dream is to do something kind of like Curb Your Enthusiasm, where we’re playing ourselves but trying to navigate life today.

Maybe I’m trying to get him back together with me, and he’s like, ‘Dude, you’re annoying, get away.’ I don’t know what it is, but I would love to do some kind of Entourage or Curb Your Enthusiasm-type thing with Josh one day.”

We won’t lie, this does sound like a great way to bring the characters back to the screen, but it may not be what Nickelodeon would be interested in. A Curb Your Enthusiasm-style reboot isn’t likely to appeal to the kids of today, however, it may just be what the adults who grew up with the original show are looking for — even though that just won’t fit with Nickelodeon.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is a comedy series starring Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld, who plays himself in a series of events interacting with other producers, stars, and everyday people parodying his everyday life. The show predates Drake & Josh, first airing in 2000 and concluding with its 12th season earlier this year. It is considered by many to be one of the greatest comedy series ever made.

The idea of rebooting Drake & Josh isn’t outside of the realm of possibility. Several shows from the same era have already been rebooted in recent years, including iCarly, Rugrats, The Fairly OddParents, and more. Even Nickelodeon’s rivals over at Disney have been on the reboot train of late, most recently releasing Wizards Beyond Waverly Place — a reboot of the 2000s show Wizards of Waverly Place starring Selena Gomez.

It seems that Bell is more than eager to reunite with the cast of Drake & Josh for whichever project would allow him to do so, but for what it’s worth, we’re all on board for the idea of a Curb Your Enthusiasm-style reboot of the iconic Nickelodeon show.

Investigation Discovery’s Quiet On Set rocked the entertainment industry with a 4 part documentary series about child abuse in children’s programming.

For a time, this was largely an open secret. Nickelodeon profited from popular series such as All That, The Amanda Show, and iCarly, all of which were born from the mind of Dan Schneider. However, there was a dark side and Schneider was known for inappropriate behavior behind the scenes.

In episode 5 of Quiet On Set, entitled, “Breaking the Silence,” Soledad O’Brien reunites several of the central figures of the documentary for the first time since the original episodes aired. There, she interviews Drake & Josh star Drake Bell and All That cast Giovannie Samuels and Bryan Hearne. These performers address the reaction to the documentary and how it’s impacted them. The resulting 40 minutes was a moving retreading of heartbreaking material that was a satisfying wrap-up to the series.

Will there be an episode 6 of Quiet On Set?

Episode 5 of Quiet On Set was a natural progression of the series. The dark secrets of Nickelodeon were so harrowing that there had to be some response. Schneider released a 19-minute apology video that largely fell on deaf ears. For many, it was too little too late. And in any case, time shouldn’t be yielded to the person who spent years profiting from the pain of children. Episode 5 lets these stars have their time to discuss the ramifications of their experiences. Investigation Discovery head, Jason Sarlanis, opened up to The Hollywood Reporter that before the first episode aired, they were inclined to do a follow-up.

“In of specifically extending Quiet on Set in its first series to an episode that captured some of the aftermath, I think we first started talking to [executive producers] Mary [Robertson] and Emma [Schwartz] right after the trailer dropped. And we worked together with them mostly to be able to produce this additional episode after the show itself had been seen so that we could create this platform for our incredibly brave contributors to in the very conversation that we were alluding to. There have been hundreds of media outlets and content creators who have evolved this story. We wanted to give that platform back the a very people whose story it really is.”

However, it is unclear if Investigation Discovery will release more content regarding these concepts. No plans for episode 6 have been made public as of yet. Sarlanis intimated to the outlet that they did not believe Quiet On Set was definitively over, either.

“The themes that Mary and Emma are tackling with Quiet on Set are something that we are committed to continuing to shine a light on, whether or not it’s more of Quiet on Set, or other projects we could do together. What was so incredible about Quiet on Set is that it was expertly crafted to give a platform for this specific story and example of systemic abuse.”

In fairness, there are many more directions that this story could lead. Robertson mentioned that the pouring of outrage has made many consider future federal legislation to protect children in the entertainment industry.

Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV revealed the heinous culture of abuse on the sets of Nickelodeon, of which Drake Bell was a victim. After the docies’ release, the company offered its to Bell. However, the star thinks Nickelodeon is not doing enough.

Bell rose to stardom after appearing in popular TV shows such as The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh. While these shows were in production, Nickelodeon’s dialogue coach and actor Brian Peck repeatedly abused Bell. The actor’s courageous testimony in Quiet on Set is stomach-churning, revealing the horrors he endured as an underaged star.

In 2004, Peck was arrested on 11 charges related to the sexual abuse of a child after the family of one of Nickelodeon’s young stars approached the Los Angeles Police Department. At the time, no one knew the identity of Peck’s victim. In Quiet on Set, Bell came forward as the person who originated the investigation, a traumatic experience he’s still learning to overcome. That’s why the actor is legitimately enraged with Nickelodeon’s empty response to the docies.

Drake Bell denounces Nickelodeon’s shameful inaction

In a recent episode of The Sarah Fraser Show podcast, Bell talked about the shocking docies and the painful process of deciding to tell the truth to the whole world. Before he gathered the strength to share his story, Bell put himself through rehab, an experience that allowed him to process his feelings and prepare to talk to Emma Schwartz, one of the Quiet on Set directors, as he discovered that even though he is not done recovering, he is “getting closer to feeling comfortable with finally sharing my story.’”

It’s not easy to face the world as a survivor of sexual abuse, which explains why Bell chose to keep the matter private. Still, thanks to his courageous testimony, other actors have started to come forward to denounce the abuse of children in Hollywood. As for Nickelodeon, the company gave a cold statement to Variety which says:

“Now that Drake Bell has disclosed his identity as the plaintiff in the 2004 case, we are dismayed and saddened to learn of the trauma he has endured, and we commend and the strength required to come forward. […] Though we cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago, Nickelodeon, as a matter of policy, investigates all formal complaints as part of our commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct.”

Nickelodeon’s statement indicates the company is lawyering up to avoid being held able for failing to protect the child actors of its shows. It has all the right keywords but no guilt or emotion, which is not enough for Bell as he finds it “pretty empty.”

“There’s a very well-tailored response saying, ‘Learning about his trauma,’ because they couldn’t say that they didn’t know about this or what had happened, or anything. So I think that was a really well-tailored response by probably some big attorney in Hollywood. […] I find it pretty empty, their responses, because, I mean, they still show our shows, they still put our shows on. And I have to pay for my own therapy, I have to figure out what… I mean, if there was anything, if there was any truth behind them actually caring, there would be something more than quotes on a page by obviously a legal representative telling them exactly how to tailor a response.”

Nickelodeon’s inaction when it comes to the many allegations of sexual abuse involving young actors and people in positions of power is indeed appalling. As a company dedicated to producing content for children with children, Nickelodeon has the legal and moral obligation to provide a safe environment to its young stars. As far as the interviews of Quiet on Set show (and the new allegations that follow) are concerned, the company seemingly didn’t even try before it failed to protect the young actors.

Out of the plethora of stories told and behind-the-scenes occurrences revealed in the jaw-dropping Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV docies, one of the most shocking would be the tell-all given by former Nickelodeon actor Drake Bell.

In the aforementioned tell-all, Bell revealed extensive sexual abuse he suffered as a young teenager at the hands of dialogue coach and Nickelodeon actor Brian Peck. And while Peck was eventually sentenced to over a year in prison, he was also later hired by Disney and allowed to continue working with children. Flash forward to now, and Bell is continuing his music success this year with the release of his album, Non-Stop Flight. The aforementioned album also features the single “I Kind Of Relate,” which outlines his past sexual abuse as a child star and the strength he’s found through sharing his story.

It’s nearly impossible to recall the early era of teen sitcoms from the late 1990s and early 2000s and not think of two of Nickelodeon’s most popular series, The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh. Both aired from around 1999 to 2007. Both are considered by many to be of the Golden Age of the teen sitcom genre. And both starred American actor Drake Bell. 

Bell’s acting career carried him through nearly three decades, from the mid-1990s to the early 2020s. He starred in a plethora of small TV shows and even voiced the role of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in a number of animated Marvel shows from 2012 to 2017, including Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man. Throughout this time, Bell also leaned into a career in music, a profession to which he’s devoted years of his time, and even released almost half a dozen albums. 

As is, unfortunately, the case for child actors, Bell’s time in the spotlight as he grew older was marred by controversy, a common occurrence for those who spend so many years under a microscope from such a young age. By 2015, the actor and musician was arrested for driving under the influence. Then, in 2021 he was hit with his biggest problem yet after a Cuyahoga County grand jury in Ohio indicted him for “charges of attempted endangering children, a fourth-degree felony, and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a first-degree misdemeanor,” according to ABC News 5 Cleveland. 

Still, there was more to come. Let’s look at Bell’s conviction, the controversy surrounding it, and the guilty plea he ultimately entered, as well as the addiction problems that plagued his adulthood. 

Being accused of sexual and grooming an underage fan

In 2021, it was announced that Drake Bell, 34 years old at the time, had been charged with grooming an underage fan and attempted child endangerment, as well as sexual misconduct. Bell ultimately pled guilty to the child endangerment charges, and was sentenced to two years probation and 200 hours of community service. 

In a virtual sentencing, the victim, who is now in her 20s, claimed she had been made to perform oral sex on Bell when she was just 15 years old. “He was calculating, he preyed on me and sexually abused me,” she said in her statement, as reported by Daily Mail. “He is a monster and a danger to children.” 

She went on to claim that Bell is “the epitome of evil” and called him a pedophile. “’I deserve better than to be used for his sick desires, and for my suffering to be used for his amusement. Jared Drake Bell is a pedophile and that is his legacy,” she said.

Upon seeing the surprised look on Bell’s face at the mention of these accusations, she then added, “Don’t look at me like that!”

Why Drake Bell says he pled guilty

Shortly following the news of his guilty plea, Drake Bell took to Instagram to address the situation himself. “Most of the news you’ve heard recently is entirely false and wrong,” he said in a video clip. “I feel that you deserve, and I owe you, an explanation.”

According to him, the situation was not as spontaneous as it appeared from the outside. After a three-year ordeal, he decided to plead guilty, as it was the quickest and easiest way out, although he still maintains that the claims about him are false. Nevertheless, he also agreed that his interactions with the victim were “reckless and irresponsible.”  

“I know that this has moved very quickly for you, but for me, it’s been a three-year, thorough investigation into every false claim that has been made. And, it’s not me telling you that the claims are false, but the state of Ohio has proven the claims to be false. If these claims were remotely true, my situation would be very different. I would not be here at home with my wife and my son.

“I responded to a fan whose age I didn’t know. Yet when I became aware of their age, all conversation and communication stopped. And this individual continued to come to shows and pay for meet and greets, all while I was unaware that this was the same person I was communicating with online, and that’s what I plead guilty to.

“It was reckless and irresponsible text messages. I want to make clear that there were no sexual images, nothing physical between me and this individual, I was not charged with anything physical. I was not charged with disseminating of photographs or images or anything like that. This is strictly over text messages. And when I was presented with a plea deal, because of the messages, I felt that it was the best way to get this over quickly and for everybody involved to be able to move on, and for me to get back to doing what I love. And that’s making music for you.”

Addiction, the dissolution of his marriage, and going missing

In January 2023, while still in the midst of his two-year probation for child endangerment, Bell and his wife Janet Von Schmeling, with whom he shares a son, quietly separated after five years of marriage, according to People. The news came just one month after photographs revealed Bell inhaling balloons in the front seat of his car while his son sat in the back, as reported by the Daily Mail. 

Bell ultmately entered an outpatient clinic for substance abuse shortly thereafter, according to People. “Drake needed to take time to get help and focus on his health,” a source for the magazine said.  

On April 20, a week after Bell was reported missing and then later found, Von Schmeling formally filed for divorce. Bell addressed the topic of his whereabouts in a since-deleted post on X (then known as Twitter), saying “You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this">ameliorate Bell’s reputation in the public eye, but his conviction remains a stain on his life and career that refuses to entirely go away.

Currently streaming on Max, the 4-part series can be agonizing to watch, as it reveals that multiple child predators were working on the sets of Nickelodeon shows. Dan Schneider, the showrunner and head writer who was overseeing it all, has faced heavy scrutiny for being an abusive boss, among other things.

However, the Nickelodeon employee convicted of crimes against Bell was Brian Peck.

Peck, a 40 something dialogue and acting coach, was able to befriend Bell on the set of The Amanda Show, ultimately convincing him that he should be his manager in place of his overprotective father, whose suspicion had already been raised by Peck’s questionable behavior. Eventually, shortly after Bell began living with his mother, Peck convinced the then-15-year old to stay overnight at his house. That’s when the sexual exploitation of the vulnerable teenager began, and would continue as Drake Bell felt shocked, trapped, and helpless for months.

Brian Peck’s arrest, verdict, and sentencing

Eventually, Drake confessed to his mother about Peck’s abuse. They went to the LAPD, and the young actor was able to get Peck to it to the sexual abuse over the phone. Investigators were recording the conversation, and per Variety,

“Peck was arrested in August 2003 on more than a dozen charges related to sexual abuse allegations involving an unnamed minor. In May 2004, Peck pleaded no contest to performing a lewd act with a 14- or 15-year-old and to oral copulation with a minor under 16….Peck was sentenced to 16 months in prison and ordered to as a sex offender in October 2004.”

A contributing factor to Peck’s appallingly short sentence were the letters of sent to the Court by several industry insiders, most of whom asked that Brian only receive probation.

Kate Taylor, the journalist from Business Insider whose work drives the Quiet on the Set series, explained during the final episode, “We wanted to understand who in Hollywood was ing Brian through this. So, we petitioned the court to unseal the letters of in this case.”

There were 41 letters written in all, many by unknown friends of Brian Peck. The letters have been sealed since the case concluded, and no one knew who wrote them until the episode aired.

Which actors ed Brian Peck?

If you watched the show, or have paid attention to social media recently, then you know that James Marsden, perhaps most notable for portraying Cyclops in the X-Men movie franchise, was one of the actors who ed Peck. Marsden, 31 at the time, wrote to the judge, “I assure you, what Brian has been through in the last year is the suffering of a hundred men.”

Other actors who wrote letters on Peck’s behalf: Ron Melendez (American Horror Story); Bell’s co-star on The Amanda Show and SNL alum Taran Killam; and Boy Meets World stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle, whose letters prompted Bell to blast them on social media.

Actress Kimmy Robertson (Twin Peaks) wrote a letter of that read, “I believe with all my heart that Brian was pressured and pushed beyond belief before he caved in.”

Alan Thicke, who played the father on the hit sitcom Growing Pains, where Peck worked from 1987-91, also wrote a letter of , stating, “I know beyond a doubt how remorseful he is and how dedicated and focused he will be on his rehabilitation.”
Joanna Kerns, who played the mother on Growing Pains, wrote that the abuse “wouldn’t have happened if Brian wasn’t tempted.” Kerns now regrets it, apparently, saying her letter was based on “complete misinformation” and per a statement to the Quiet on Set producers, would “never have written the letter” otherwise.

Investigative reporter and Quiet on Set collaborator Kate Taylor offered her opinion on the letters, saying, “This logic is just victim-blaming,”

Indeed, and it’s the only reasonable conclusion that can be made.

Nickelodeon writer and producer Dan Schneider has cast a dark shadow over the network for some time. While a workhorse for the company, allegations against him have seriously tarnished the brand and raised serious questions over the safety of their child stars.

Schneider himself started as an actor but quickly found an appreciation for the written word. He began work at Nickelodeon and was the mind behind shows that put kids’ programming on the map like All That, The Amanda Show, and later series such as iCarly. He was Nickelodeon’s go-to creative, which unfortunately gave him access to a lot of power. As his status at the company grew, so did his alleged behavior.

Many claims about his toxic onset behavior created a backlash that forced Nickelodeon to investigate. Former iCarly star, Jennette McCurdy makes mention of a power-mad writer in her memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. She only refers to him as “The Creator,” but many have put together she could be referring to Schneider. Other claims of reprehensible onset behavior have followed Schneider for many years.

Former writer on The Amanda Show, Christy Stratton, detailed her experiences in the ID documentary, Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV. Among many things, he forced her to share a salary with the only other female writer — a requirement that men did not have to adhere to. His practical jokes onset escalated to verbal abuse, particularly aimed at women. Many did not report these incidents for fear of repercussions. Nickelodeon conducted an investigation into these allegations in 2018, which resulted in Schneider’s dismissal. Quiet On Set delves into these issues, as well as many others that caused harm on set. The documentary has forced Schneider to address what industry professionals have been whispering about for years.

What has Dan Schneider said about Quiet On Set?

Schneider notably did not take part in the documentary that aired in 4 parts. The series covered many aspects of the workplace, like Drake Bell’s first public statement about being sexually abused at the network. Schneider was not involved in that situation, and Bell has outwardly stated that Schneider had ed him after the news came out. However, there were many other issues that former employees contend he was involved in.

One of the strangest anecdotes was the strange sexual turn that the television shows seemed to take. In later series like Sam & Cat and Zoey 101, many girls were often shown scantily clad with odd jokes that seemed to lean into sexual innuendo. McCurdy, in particular, noted how she knew enough to never push back on anything Schneider did for fear of repercussions. After the 4 episodes aired, Schneider officially spoke to the claims in the documentary in a conversation with former iCarly star, BooG!E.

“Watching over the past two nights was very difficult — me facing my past behaviors, some of which are embarrassing and that I regret. I definitely owe some people a pretty strong apology.”

Schneider went on to take responsibility, saying that upon reflection, he can see that his actions hurt people and understands that no one should ever feel unsafe on set. The documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV is doing exactly what it was expected to — exposing the darker side of Nickelodeon, putting the focus on the likes of Dan Schneider and Brian Peck who tyrannically abused their power, as well as the ones who naively or deliberately ed these individuals.

In Quiet on Set, Drake Bell gives a heart-wrenching description of what he went through as a teenager when the actor ed The Amanda Show in its second season, because Brian Peck was his dialogue and acting coach, and his ab. In the third episode, Bell re the painful details of the sexual assault that only got worse as time progressed.

“He figured out how to convince my mom and everyone around to, anytime I would have an audition or anytime I needed to work on dialogue or anything, I somehow ended up back at Brian’s house and it just got worse and worse and worse and worse. I was just trapped. I had no way out. The abuse was extensive and it got pretty brutal.”

This is not the first time Bell has made the allegations against Peck, but it is certainly the first time he is opening up about it publicly. And just like the documentary, he is making sure to call out the ones who came out to Peck back in 2003-2004, when Peck was facing a trial for allegedly sexually abusing Bell, whose identity at the time was kept anonymous and it was only known that the individual assaulted was a minor.

Drake Bell shoots down Boy Meets World’s Rider Strong and Will Friedle’s attempts to backtrack their of Brian Peck

The documentary has unveiled a lot of shocking revelations, including letters of to the court in of Brian Peck from Nickelodeon child actors, which include ones penned by Friedle and Strong, one of the “friends” who even appeared in court to Peck. Before the documentary aired, the duo, in their podcast Pod Meets World, expressed “shame and guilt” for ing Peck 20 years ago, and stressed that they too were “misled” by the man.

But Bell is not ready to take the delayed apology. 

When fellow Nickelodeon alum Alexa Nikolas called out Strong and Friedle for ing Peck, many in the comments rushed to take the actors’ side, claiming that the two are also victims in this case, as they were minors when they wrote the letters of and were “manipulated” by the older man.

But Bell is no longer willing to let someone change the narrative of what happened all those years ago, and slipped into the comments to specify that neither Strong nor Friedle were minors when they penned the letters — they were 27 and 24, respectively — and were allegedly well aware of what Peck did, but they “wrote the letter anyway.”

“Will was not manipulated. Brian itted it to him and he wrote the letter anyway. Then he worked with me on many many episodes of Spider-Man years later and never said a word to me about it. This is because they were told there letters are going to be made public. Everyone thought the letters would be sealed forever and no one would ever see them. This is their publicist telling them how to get ahead of the story.”

But what concerns Bell the most is that the charges against Peck didn’t offer much of a result. Yes, he was sentenced to 16 months in prison and ed as a sex offender, but he remains in Hollywood. His history only stretches to him being prohibited from having direct with child actors, but he is free to work in films that they are a part of.

In the aftermath of Bell’s interview in the docies, Josh Peck has been heavily criticized for keeping close ties with Hollywood, and remaining silent about Bell’s alleged sexual abuse.

At the current time of this writing, Josh Peck has yet to publicly address Bell’s interview or accusations, which has continued to anger folks online. As for Brian Peck, he was arrested back in 2003 for a “lewd act” against a child, which turned out to be Drake Bell. Peck eventually served over a year in prison and was forced to as a sex offender, though he was subsequently hired by Disney, and is now leaving his life privately, and refusing to acknowledge the situation at hand.

The new documentary series streaming on Max delves into the underbelly of Nickelodeon’s most prolific writer, Dan Schnieder. Among many things, the creative was the architect behind All That and The Amanda Show. But in recent years, Schneider has been revealed to be an insidious force behind the network. Former stars from Nickelodeon have been coming out of the woodwork, indicating that the writer was inappropriate behind the scenes. Quiet On Set interviews these stars, and former employees who have shocking anecdotes about what the atmosphere was really like.

On season 1 of The Amanda Show, Schneider hired only 2 female writers, who had to share a salary. Jenny Kilgen and Christy Stratton alleged they were degraded and humiliated in the writer’s room before ultimately being phased out. When does episode 3 of Quiet On Set air?

Amanda Bynes, Drake Bell, and Jeanette McCurdy were some stars elevated because of their proximity to Schneider. However, these stars have also had struggles later in life. McCurdy has quite publicly denounced her time on Nickelodeon. In her memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, the iCarly star detailed how toxic the network was.

Quiet On Set explores the specifics of each episode of the series. The first 2 episodes aired on March 17, 2024. Viewers will not have to wait that much longer for more entries into these fascinating and terrible events. Episodes 3 and 4 will air on the following day, March 18. After being reported missing before being found around a week ago, Drake Bell’s personal dramas appear to be going from bad to worse as the Drake & Josh star’s estranged wife Janet Von Schmeling has officially filed for divorce. 

Legal documents detailing Von Schmeling’s petition reveal that the pair have been separated since September last year, and cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation, as reported by TMZ. 

It would appear that Bell’s disappearance turned out to be the straw that broke the camel’s back when it comes to his relationship with Von Schmeling, with whom he shares a child. Bell’s ex reportedly wants the actor and musician to be granted visitation rights. This comes after Bell was reported missing and threatening suicide following a dispute with Von Schmeling over the custody over his child.

Drake Bell has had a multitude of troubles in his adult life after growing up as a child star, including a highly-publicized case about his relationship with an underage fan. That, as well as financial troubles (he has filed for bankruptcy protection in the past) now compound with his ongoing family troubles and legal proceedings. 

Bell’s career arguably peaked during his tenure on both The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh, both of which ran more or less simultaneously around the turn of the century. Update April 13 17:33 am CT: TMZ has additionally reported that law enforcement officials have informed them that Bell has since been found and is no longer missing. However, specific details on his whereabouts during his disappearance or why the police were concerned for his safety have yet to emerge.

Drake Bell, the former teen TV favorite of the 2000s, has been reported as “missing and endangered.” Most ed for his role in popular Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh, Bell was last seen on April 12, as revealed today in a Facebook post shared by the Daytona Beach Police Department. Bell — legal name Jared Bell — had previously pleaded guilty to a child endangerment felony involving a 15-year-old girl in 2021.

As per the report from Daytona P.D., “Officers are looking for Jared Bell, DOB 06/27/1986. He should be traveling in a 2022 grey BMW, and his last known location is potentially the area of Mainland High School on 4/12/2023 just before 9 p.m. He is considered missing and endangered.”

Missing and endangered is typically classified as someone missing under unexplained or suspicious circumstances or when a person is believed to be in danger due to age, health, mental or physical disability, or relating to environmental factors.

In July 2021, the 36-year-old was sentenced to a two-year probationary sentence and community service after pleading guilty to a felony charge for attempting to endanger children and a misdemeanor charge for disseminating material harmful to juveniles.

This sentencing stemmed from text messages believed to be sexually explicit that were sent to an underaged fan in Ohio in 2017. In an Instagram post explaining the verdict, Bell stressed “most of the news that you’ve heard recently is entirely false and wrong,” but itted “I’m not perfect and I make mistakes.”

Bell starred opposite Josh Peck — who has publicly cut all ties with Bell — and Miranda Cosgrove in all four seasons of Drake & Josh from 2002 to 2007. The show was created and executive produced by Dan Schneider, who has been hit by several on-set misconduct allegations himself in recent years. Bell also voiced Peter Parker in Disney’s Ultimate Spider-Man from 2012 to 2017.
