Satoru Gojo is hands down one of the most adored characters in the whole of Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen series. Not only is he considered the most powerful modern sorcerer — stronger than others (excluding Sukuna) by miles — he has the confidence, charisma, and objectively good looks to boot.

He’s strong, not shy about openly boasting he’s the strongest, and we don’t mind his cockiness because he has continued to stand tall on that pedestal of power that most other characters can only dream of ever achieving. Another characteristic that defines Gojo is that when he’s not, on occasion, dead serious, he can be a bit of a childish brat— a nearly 30-year-old, 6 foot 3 inches, little rascal.

Satoru Gojo is of different ages at the start of the series (season 1), in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, in the Hidden Inventory Arc (season 2, episodes 1-5) and post-Shibuya Incident (season 2, episodes 6-23). He was born on Dec. 7, 1989, making him a Sagittarius, which may resonate and make sense to those who pay attention to star signs. This is a man who values freedom — for himself and others — as he always does what he wants and thinks is right, like protecting Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu from potential execution, delaying it for the first and suspending it indefinitely for the latter.

Let’s go chronologically: We meet a 16-year-old second-year student Gojo during the Hidden Inventory Arc (season 2, episodes 1-4), which takes place in the Summer of 2006. The following year, in September, when his best friend Suguru Geto massacres an entire village (season 2, episode 5), Gojo is 17, on his way to turn 18 a few months later in December.

When Yuta s Tokyo Jujutsu High almost ten years later, in 2017, Gojo is 27 and turns 28 before the clash with Geto’s forces, a battle titled “Night Parade of a Hundred Demons,” which occurs on Dec. 24 (Jujutsu Kaisen 0). In June 2018, Yuji’s execution was postponed, and he enrolled in Jujutsu High. The Shibuya Incident occurred on Oct. 31, 2018, therefore, at the time of his sealing in the Prison Realm, Gojo is still 28.

When he gets unsealed on Nov. 19, Gojo is still the same age, turning 29 on Dec. 7, a couple of weeks before his scheduled battle against Ryomen Sukuna. The Shinjuku Showdown Arc kicks off on Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, with the epic fight between the strongest modern sorcerer and the strongest ancient one being the appetizer to the story’s climax. Unfortunately, despite giving Sukuna a run for his money, Gojo is ultimately killed, dying at the age of 29 years old.

After 6 years and hundreds of issues, Jujutsu Kaisen is coming to an end. First debuting in 2018, the manga has had a successful journey. The story was written by creator Gege Akutami, who created an immersive world full of demons and curses.

Jujutsu Kaisen follows young Yuji Itadori, who gets more than he bargained for after eating a cursed finger. This decision opens him up to a hidden world where Jujutsu Kaisen High School trains its students in sorcery so they can defeat curses. Unfortunately for Yuji, that includes him. But he strikes up a deal with the school to stay his execution so he can help eradicate the curse he has swallowed.

Gege Akutami announced that Jujustu Kaisen will end after the next five chapters are released. This bombshell of a news drop has left followers in a panic, to say the least. 

The announcement that Jujutsu Kaisen is ending was first made at Shonen Jump’s new mini-series program, Jump Press, which aired live on the official YouTube channel page. The presentation, along with a few other announcements, featured a fresh statement penned by Akutami about the series’ imminent end.

This will officially bring the great six-year run to a conclusion on Sept. 30, with Chapter 271 serving as the final and concluding chapter. The series is currently in the midst of an exciting plot, with tensions growing and stakes higher than ever. To most, five chapters seem insufficient to wrap up a story with many outstanding questions, the most important being what happens if Yuji prevails. While much remains uncertain, we can only hope that the last chapters will be filled with enough action, emotional moments, and surprising revelations to satisfy the fans. There is something to be said about a concise story, even in the scope of manga, which often has extended storylines. Given the pace at which the anime is progressing, it will take some time before it catches up to the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. However, fans can rest assured that Mappa Studios, known for its high-quality animation and faithful adaptations, will eventually bring this arc to the screen.

The only way we could think to make this better is if there existed a blue Killua mug to match, but no pressure, Walmart!

One can never have too many One Piece mugs — especially when there are so many cool ones on Amazon. For the sake of your wallet, this is our last One Piece pick though, and it just so happens to be a ceramic cup with a wooden lid! It has a lid, everyone! There are also three variations: Chopper’s is pink, Zoro’s is green, and Luffy’s is white. Personally, I think Chopper’s is the cutest, but Luffy’s is a good runner-up.

To be fair, we must attribute much of this success to Jujutsu Kaisen. The anime has managed to break through the nerdy barriers and the thin line that kept anime oscillating between being considered weird and towing the boundaries of being cool. With more collaborations between anime titles and various brands, its popularity is only increasing, especially in of marketing. Rumor has it that Jujutsu Kaisen is next in line for a collaboration with McDonald’s, but is it coming in the form of a Happy Meal?

Is there a Jujutsu Kaisen McDonald’s menu? 1m4221

No. Sadly, there will not be a Jujutsu Kaisen Happy Meal or menu. The collaboration teased on McDonald’s X featured a picture of enigmatic blue flames. While this image meant nothing to many McDonald’s followers, Jujutsu Kaisen fans immediately recognized the cursed energy flames in the picture and associated it with the anime almost instantly. But instead of a special menu, JJK fans will be getting a new sauce instead.

That’s right, the collaboration is teasing nothing more and nothing less than a new sauce on the menu. The new special-grade sauce will be made with black garlic, a staple item in McDonald’s Japan. As the company finally brought it over to the U.S., the chance for a Jujutsu Kaisen collab seemed too good to up. According to the company, the sauce is described as tangy, sweet, and garlicky, with hints of soy sauce.

While there will only be one sauce, there will be eight unique lids available, each featuring a different character from Jujutsu Kaisen. You can collect lids with Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Satoru Gojo, Kento Nanami, Suguru Geto, Mahito, or Sukuna. The lids also come in different colors. On top of that, McDonald’s announced that customers who purchase the sauce will receive a free 30-day trial on Crunchyroll. Quite a strategy.

While it seems like too good of an opportunity to on, the length of this collaboration can easily be attributed to the ongoing boycott due to the company’s perceived of Israel. These boycotters are refusing to eat at the chain restaurant to avoid financing a company they allege s Israel in its ongoing conflict with Palestine. We can’t be sure if this Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration is an attempt to attract more customers or if it is simply a normal partnership, similar to previous collaborations with Travis Scott and BTS.

All in all, though, this is not even the first time the chain restaurant has collaborated with an anime. Back in February, McDonald’s partnered with animation studio House Pierrot to produce their four-episode-long WcDonald’s anime. However, Jujutsu Kaisen will become the first actual anime to collaborate with McDonald’s since the company opened its doors in 1955.

Less than 24 hours ago, Jujutsu Kaisen fans noticed something intriguing about the McDonald’s app and social media , generating a wave of excitement, curiosity, and speculation.

It is not the first time a well-known brand makes an allusion to the Gege Akutami series. Duolingo, for instance, had once made a post on X referencing a controversial manga chapter. But it might be the first time a major fast-food brand makes such a unique collaboration with the beloved anime series.

Fans were alerted to the surprise when McDonald’s changed its X description to “hi welcome to my malevolent kitchen,” an undeniable nod to Ryomen Sukuna’s highly destructive Domain expansion, sometimes translated to “malevolent shrine” or “malevolent kitchen.” The company also changed its profile and background photo to evoke the sensation that it is powering up its cursed energy.

As you open the McDonald’s app, it glitches and Sukuna’s characteristic dark markings appear. In addition, the app added a button for s to “expand their domain” so they can find “the source of energy within.” s can then access a virtual reality experience with imagery created by AI.

As for the main surprise of this collaboration, which is arriving on July 9, it is a new garlic and soy sauce dip, described as having a spicy sweetness to it. This brand-new sauce coming to the United States and available through the app is not necessarily the first of its kind, as it emulates a sauce already available in Japan, the Black Garlic Sauce. Keeping up with the Jujutsu Kaisen references, this new exclusive sauce is called Special Grade Garlic Sauce and, naturally, the lids will feature one of eight of the most popular characters in the series, from Yuji Itadori to Satoru Gojo.

Who knows, the potential of a Gojo figurine in a Happy Meal may not be far on the horizon.
