Chihiro and Hakuri have a job to do in this one.]]>
<![CDATA[

Despite the initial wave of jokes and memes that Kagurabachi was met with, the manga keeps gaining popularity. All it took was for it to be given an actual chance, and now, folks are hooked. f2j49

Following Chihiro Rokuhira, Takeru Hokazono’s work has become a must-read for shonen enthusiasts, with dark elements like war, revenge, and torture, as well as enough fights to keep fans of battle manga thoroughly entertained. The best thing about it, though, is how the plot keeps on advancing, allowing no one to catch their breath.

In chapter 46, the Kamunabi higher-ups began their interrogation of Chihiro, who is hell-bent on meeting the bearers of the Enchanted Blades in order to acquire them and thwart the Hishaku. The higher-ups were reluctant, but after the Kokugoku fortress was invaded, they decided to use Chihiro, trusting him and Hakuri with their first mission. Given this, it’s safe to assume that chapter 47 will see the two in action, and we can’t wait for it.

Chapter 47 of the Kagurabachi manga will be officially released on Sept. 1 at 10am CDT, on Viz Media’s partner website, Manga Plus, and its app. When the time comes, the chapter will be available to read in different languages, including English, Spanish, and French, in order to reach as many readers as possible.

Visiting the site every Sunday for updates on the story has become somewhat of a tradition for hardcore fans of Kagurabachi, as the manga is on a weekly release schedule. So, if you want to be one of them and read chapter 47 as soon as it drops, you know what to do. While you’re there, check out some other impressive Viz Media series. They’ll be worth your while.

Now there won't be any excuses not to keep up with Chihiro's story.]]>
<![CDATA[

Kagurabachi started being published in September 2023, and very quickly took off. Granted, part of it was due to the internet jumping on the memeing bandwagon, but still, it’s an enjoyable manga.

With plenty of sword-fighting action to keep readers entertained and a ruthless protagonist capable of shedding as much blood as necessary to achieve his goal, Kagurabachi clearly has what it takes to make it big. Perhaps even big enough for an anime adaptation, as some folks brought up shortly after chapter one was released. Whether or not that becomes a reality isn’t the point, though.

What matters for now is that more and more people are invested in Takeru Hokazono’s story and they want answers. Will Chihiro Rokuhira ever get the revenge he seeks? Well, there’s only one way to find out.

As its popularity increases, it’s only natural for new fans to want to keep up with the manga, and the best way to do so is by knowing when each new chapter will be available to read. Thankfully, Kagurabachi‘s schedule isn’t hard for fans to figure out, and so far, the author has stuck to it.

Kagurabachi fans can breathe a sigh of relief because they never have to wait very long between chapter releases. Like many other Weekly Shonen Jump manga, this one is on a weekly schedule, with new chapters being made available to read in English on Sundays at 9am CT. All the chapters can be found on Viz Media’s partner platform, Manga Plus, and its app, thus, if you want to be among the first to read them, that’s where you should head to when the time is right.

All that said, it’s worth keeping in mind that manga authors sometimes take breaks between chapters to recharge their batteries or to have a bit of extra time to perfect their illustrations. This leads to occasional release delays, of course, and can apply to Kagurabachi and many other manga. So, if on a random Sunday you find yourself waiting in vain for a chapter that never comes, don’t be too surprised.

In all fairness, though, mangakas typically warn their fans about their breaks a week in advance, and you can also always check out exactly when a new chapter will be released on Manga Plus. With all this information in mind, you can now enjoy Kagurabachi chapters as soon as they come out. Go on, then, get to reading.

The fresh manga series already achieved meme status.]]>
<![CDATA[

Manga fans are always looking for their next obsession, and it just may have arrived in the form of Kagurabachi.

The fresh manga series is already somewhat of a meme online, as people rush to praise a series they know next to nothing about. The ironic memeification of the barely released manga provided Kagurabachi with near-instant name recognition, if not necessarily for the typical reasons. And, while most people praising the manga are being sarcastic, their constant praise of the series as one of the “greatest manga of all time” could just turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The manga is far too new to have earned an anime just yet, which leaves anyone eager to get in on the Kagurabachi hype with only one choice. Its manga or bust — for now, at least — but at least a few reading options are currently available.

Weekly Shonen Jump is easily the most recognizable source of manga for readers, which typically makes it a first pick among manga fans. Kagurabachi began its serialization in Shonen Jump starting with its mid-September debut, and fresh chapters will likely continue to appear in the publication through the manga’s run.

A second option also exists, for readers looking for alternates to Shonen Jump. The manga also appears among Manga Plus’ rife selection, with clear updates on when fresh chapters are incoming.

Readers can already enjoy the first issue, titled “Mission,” on the site, and fresh chapters are headed to the site soon, according to the manga’s page. The next chapter is set to it soon, with an anticipated Sept. 24 arrival listed prominently alongside that thrilling first issue.

No, he is not Zoro. ]]>
<![CDATA[

Shounen Jump just welcomed Kagurabachi into its mix, and even before the train left the station, the new Shonen manga was already receiving quite a mix of reviews. With a hint of the competitiveness behind these opinions, some people cannot accept the fact that a new Shonen is getting hyped again (yes, I’m looking at you Fullmetal Alchemist fans).

Criticizing it for its unoriginal plot and generic story for being reminiscent of Zoro’s backstory from One Piece – as if all shounen don’t follow the same exact formula only slightly adulterated – Kagurabachi tore down all the pre-conceived opinions with its alluring and adventurous first chapter. If this is your first time hearing about this story, allow me to tell you a bit about Kagurabachi and Chihiro Rokuhira.

Obviously, each story has its protagonist. In Kagurabachi‘s case, the manga is led by its main force, Chihiro Rokuhira. We meet him as a 14-year-old teenager diligently training alongside his father, an infamous swordsmith. Hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps, Chihiro finds himself to be quite different from his kin, with his serious nature evidently contrasting with his dad’s – who enjoys talking with his goldfish.

We see Chihiro once more later in the chapter, but only, he looks entirely different. It is unveiled that three years have ed since we first saw the teen, and quite a lot has happened. He is naturally older, but he also now has a scar on his face. We see him hunting down a mysterious group of sorcerers, later known to be called “Hishaku,” and his hatred is palpable throughout the pages.

It is probably safe to assume the group likely did something to his beloved father – but we just don’t know it quite yet. That’s just my guess, considering most Shonen have some sort of daddy issue. But of course, only one chapter is out so very little is known. Still, plenty of Shounen Jump fans have their sights ready on the next chapter, and so do I.

So if you want to read the first chapter of Kagurabachi, head on to Shonen Jump to get your fix.

Will this be the new hit shonen series?]]>
<![CDATA[

A new manga series is in town and it’s making a name for itself with only a single chapter out. Fresh from the mind of Takeru Hokazono, Kagurabachi had its first chapter published in Weekly Shonen Jump 2023 issue 42, which also published new chapters of already beloved series like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia among others. In fact, Kagurabachi was the focus of the cover of this September issue, which showcases the red-eyed main character, Chihiro, holding his weapon of choice, a katana. It makes sense that Shonen Jump is making an effort to introduce the next hit series into the market, taking into consideration that some popular multi-volume manga, like My Hero Academia or Black Clover, are drawing to an end.

It appears people have taken the bait. In fact, the interest had already been captured prior to the new magazine issue’s release, but since becoming available it has only reached new heights of manga fans’ excitement.

Kagurabachi follows the katana-wielding protagonist on his bloody path to revenge. In the first chapter, we see what normal life was like for 14-year-old Chihiro as an apprentice to his blacksmith father, Rokuhira Kunishige. Then, without really knowing what took place in between, the story jumps forward in time. Chihiro has a scar on the side of his face that wasn’t there before and his disposition seems changed. It’s implicit that something might’ve happened to his father and that may be the reason why he is now seeking revenge.

Is Kagurabachi getting adapted? 38585o

There have been rumors that none other than Studio MAPPA has picked up the series for adaptation. However, an official confirmation from the Japanese studio has yet to come out. It wouldn’t be surprising for an animation studio like MAPPA to call dibs on a shonen like this one, considering their work in series like Jujutsu Kaisen or Hell’s Paradise, Kagurabachi seems to be right up their alley. Speaking of Jujutsu Kaisen, Kurabachi also includes sorcerers capable of magical abilities, which the main character pairs with his incredible sword skills.

Judging by everything we can see online, and how much discourse a single manga chapter has generated, Kagurabachi is sure to get animated and it wouldn’t be surprising if MAPPA did it. Some fans online have declared that the anime is in the works but this is unlikely. A Twitter who spread the news called it “successful bait” the next day.

On Reddit, the discussion is also ongoing. Redditor u/SnowyJKN posted a frame of what they call an “anime leak,” however, there is no way to assure this is real, and in all likelihood, it isn’t. As another , u/MarioCop718 ironically commented on the thread: “So nice that this is finally getting an adaptation after being 2 days old.”

On YouTube, English voice actor Aleks Lee shared a fan video made by Zactun on TikTok, in which he voices Chihiro. Not only does it look and sound incredible, it is also a potential tease of things to come in an unknown future.

There’s also an official PV trailer that is out.

While we can’t confirm that an anime is in the works, as every trail of indication leads to something that’s not truly substantial, it nevertheless wouldn’t be released anytime soon. That being said, the odds seem to be in its favor and it wouldn’t be surprising for a studio like MAPPA to pick it up at some point.

Most importantly, why is it the talk of the town?]]>
<![CDATA[

If you hang around manga and anime online spaces, you likely heard about Kagurabachi before its official release. I certainly did. As soon as Shonen Jump announced the newest addition to its lineup of weekly manga, the clowning started.

Suddenly, everyone was talking about it. Endless posts could be found online, as folks mocked the series’ announcement by posting images of its protagonist accompanied by text describing the plot of just about any other Shonen series one could think of. From Bleach and Naruto to Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, the comparisons were rampant, with people sprinting to jump on the hate train before it left the station.

It’s fair to say that most Shonen series follow a certain pattern, otherwise known as “the Shonen formula,” yes. But to hate on something before a single chapter has been released seems… narrow-minded, at least. The Shonen formula has been proven to work more than enough times for us to take its potential seriously, even though there’s nothing wrong with desiring some variety.

All that said, when the only information one can find on social media about Kagurabachi are memes, some folks are bound to be left in the dark regarding the series’ actual premise.

What is Kagurabachi about? 3v3j6q

Created by Takeru Hokazono, Kagurabachi focuses on themes of vengeance, with a healthy dose of action in the mix. Judging by its first chapter, “Mission,” combat will also likely be a central element of the story. But don’t take it from me, there are sources more qualified to give you a taste of what this manga will entail.

Per MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA, Kagurabachi‘s summary is as follows: “Young Chihiro spends his days training under his famous swordsmith father. One day he hopes to become a great sword-maker himself. The goofy father and the serious son — they thought these days would last forever. But suddenly, tragedy strikes. A dark day soaked in blood. Chihiro and his blade now live only for revenge. Epic sword battle action!”

To say more would probably mean giving away spoilers for the series, and nobody wants that. Thus, this is about all the information we have regarding Kagurabachi‘s plot. It’s also way too soon to have a proper grasp on the series, as it’s only just made its debut on Shonen Jump and Viz Media. On the upside, this means that readers are free to dive into the manga right this second and judge for themselves whether or not the series is worth it.
