Another renewal is a case of "when" and not "if."]]>
<![CDATA[

What’s more impressive than a returning Netflix series hoovering up more views than the rest of the Top 10 combined? In the case of Lupin Part 3, it’s doing it twice in a row. 6i61k

Having already established itself as one of the streaming service’s biggest-ever shows twice over, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that absence has made the hearts of subscribers everywhere grow fonder for Omar Sy’s gentleman thief Assane Diop, because the numbers his third run of adventures keep pulling in are ridiculous.

lupin

Part 3 alone drew 77.9 million hours and 14.1 million views over the last seven days, and when you add the first and second seasons into the equation, Lupin‘s cumulative running total for the week stands at a staggering 112.7 million and 23.1 million by both metrics. For comparison, the rest of the non-English rankings put together could only combine for 108.8 million and 16 million.

Lupin also handily crushed Mike Flanagan’s fond farewell to Netflix with The Fall of the House of Usher, making it the single top-viewed film or television title across the entire content library for the second consecutive frame. The key creatives have already teased a prospective Part 4, and when you combine the last chapter’s cliffhanger ending with its ongoing domination of the charts, then it’s impossible to imagine we’ve seen the last of the global sensation by a long shot.

Based on its current trajectory, it’s only a matter of time before Lupin cracks the all-time Top 10 to complete a three-peat, underlining its status as a genuine jewel in the company’s crown of originals.

You could probably bet your house on it, though.]]>
<![CDATA[

Far too many Netflix original shows end on open-ended notes or cliffhangers that never get resolved when the axe falls upon them, but you’d be comfortably betting your house on Lupin not being one of them.

After all, the French crime caper saw both of its first seasons enter the streaming service’s all-time Top 10 most-watched list, while Part 3 debuted this week as the single most-watched film or television on the entire platform, racking up more hours watched and total views than the rest of the non-English rankings combined. Suffice to say, you’d expect Assane Diop to be back.

The creative team must be at least semi-confident Netflix will come knocking for another round of fleet-footed adventures seeing as Lupin‘s most recent finale ended on a tantalizing tease that establishes the return of a familiar face to act as Omar Sy’s main foe next time out, but creator George Kay wouldn’t come right out and it it when speaking to Variety.

“Obviously, we’ve worked super hard on these seasons and then we’ve got to see how the world reacts. So I would say, not to answer for Damien [Couvreur], but he’s got to factor that in. But when you create the dynamics amongst the characters, you set these shows up so that they can have a long life so that you’re not cornered or you don’t have a problem continuing them, because it’s harder to generate length out of a show that’s not designed to run and run. So we had very ambitious foundations for it. So it’s definitely got the scale, if it’s required.”

If ever there was a safe bet for renewal, it’s a series that’s cracked the all-time Top 10 twice over and returned with a bang to prove itself more popular than anything else available on the entire Netflix library, so it’s surely a matter of “when” and not “if” Lupin gets confirmed for that Part 4.

<![CDATA[

Here we are yet again, taking a moment out of your day to present the latest Netflix updates – you’re welcome. Even though we know you’re likely caught up in all the Will and Jada Smith buzz and whatnot, the most popular streaming platform ensures we don’t forget about it and its shows, even those series that haven’t seen the light in years.

That’s right, this week’s top news doesn’t come from our own Earthly universe, but from a galaxy far, far away. Well… wrong franchise, but you get the idea. In a pleasant twist, that’s not the only surprise this week – quite the opposite even. Beyond the United States, there are two shows receiving well-deserved attention, one from Spain and one from . What an international week it’s been!

Star Trek: Prodigy becomes one of the few high-grossing investments for Netflix’s future in sci-fi 5z6j5i

If you’ve long been a fan of the Star Trek franchise, you may have had to ensure your subscription to Paramount Plus just to find Star Trek: Prodigy on your screen. I can only imagine the thousands of hearts breaking when the platform mercilessly axed the animated series for no apparent reason. But here’s the kicker: You don’t have to mourn anymore. Netflix not only picked up the show — acquiring the rights to the Star Trek spin-off — but it also confirmed a second season in the near future. Let’s all say: Thank you, Netflix!

Surprisingly, this week’s international winner is the French-language Lupin 2j5p3l

Last week, our Wednesday news roundup was dominated by and Spain vying tooth and nail to become Netflix’s most coveted countries for their original shows – Nowhere and Wingwomen. This week, both countries are still fiercely competing to ensure they deliver the best possible series to our doorsteps (well… television sets), and ’s runner-up is Lupin.

The third part of the series has landed on the platform and immediately soared to number one worldwide, suring David Beckham’s docies. In total, Lupin has been watched for over 88 million hours, setting a new standard for all international series hoping to achieve the same feat. But be aware: It will be difficult.

Needless to say, the weeks will mark a game-changing period for many of the horror thrillers that have long been forgotten over the years. The streaming purgatory is teeming with these little gems that never truly got a chance to shine – until Halloween arrives. With the spooky season returning, titles like Before I Go To Sleep — a psychological thriller featuring none other than A-listers Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth — are resurfacing on the global charts. Why this was never thoroughly praised, I’ll never know.

As we mentioned earlier, Spain and are the two leading Latin European countries vying for the title of producing the best international series. As for the Iberian country, its current focus is on Elite. This teen drama, which often verges on the erotic, is returning for its seventh season with several milestones to its name and a raunchy teaser.

Not only has Elite become the longest-running episodic original on Netflix, but the new teaser also features Brazilian pop star Anitta as an addition to the promotional activities. While her acting skills may be questionable, I must say that she absolutely nailed the Spanish accent.

You may Neil Gaiman’s comic book series The Sandman as one of Netflix’s biggest standout series. In fact, it became quite a spectacle the moment it landed on the platform, garnering heaps of compliments and fans’ praise on social media. Unfortunately, the fate of the series was left in the hands of a platform that doesn’t necessarily appreciate its fantasy titles and you might recall that it took four months for the second season to be confirmed, only for production to then halt.

Thankfully, it seems that the streaming giant’s plans do not involve axing The Sandman. In fact, the showrunners have proactively taken steps to ensure that during this hiatus resulting from the ongoing strikes, the minds behind the fantasy epic have laid all their cards on the table and are assuring viewers that the series will not have a lackluster future. Thank goodness, television is saved!

Becoming one of Netflix’s most-watched episodic originals of all-time twice over placed a lot of pressure on Part 3 of Lupin to live up to expectations, but the French crime caper has comfortably reminded everyone why it’s viewed as one of the streaming service’s marquee properties.

By notching 63.9 million hours and 11.6 million views through its first week of availability, the return of Omar Sy’s gentleman thief Assane Diop was comfortably the single top-viewed title of the week across all of the company’s in-house measurement metrics covering both film and television.

David Beckham’s docies did run it a close second, though, but it’s the resurgence of Lupin as a whole that’s the most remarkable feat. The first two seasons of the show also returned to the non-English Top 10, and when you add the 13.9 million hours accrued by Part 1 and the 10.2 million notched by Part 2 into the equation, then the global sensation was watched for upwards of 88 million hours in the space of seven days.

The rest of TV’s foreign-language Top 10 combined couldn’t even crack 80 million hours in total, once more underlining just how big of a deal Lupin is, was, and continues to be. The fleet-footed heist story also gathered more viewing hours than nine of the 10 most-watched non-English movies put together bar the exception of the all-conquering Nowhere, seven of the Top 10 English-speaking TV shows, and eight of the Top 10 features, as if you needed any more evidence of its immense reach.

Third time was always going to be a charm.]]>
<![CDATA[

The wait for new seasons of Netflix’s biggest shows was already excruciating enough as it was – not to name any Stranger Things in particular – before the pandemic came along and ground everything to a halt. There’s always a danger that viewers might lose interest after being forced to bide their time for years, but that hasn’t been the case with Lupin.

The third season of the worldwide phenomenon – which has achieved the rare feat of cracking Netflix’s all-time most-watched list for episodic originals with both of its previous runs – is well-placed to complete a hattrick after Omar Sy’s charismatic gentleman thief Assane Diop staged a daring heist on the global charts.

Lupin Season 3

Per FlixPatrol, Lupin Part 3 has arrived as one of the Top 10 biggest hits on Netflix in 88 countries around the world, although it underwhelmed slightly by only debuting at number one in 24 of them. Apparently, not even a two-time member of Netflix’s all-timer’s club is enough to dislodge David Beckham from the summit, but that’s surely going to change now that the weekend is upon us and everyone has more time to devour all seven new installments.

Lupin was never designed to seek awards season glory or deliver powerful thematic undercurrents, but if you’re looking for nothing more than pure, unadulterated, and massively entertaining escapism from start to finish, then there aren’t many better projects at Netflix’s disposal. Rapid-fire renewals are becoming all the rage for the streamer, so maybe it won’t be too long before Part 4 gets an official green light.

Amid aggressive review-bombing, Netflix has made its for Castlevania: Nocturne loud and clear with an expeditious season 2 renewal. On the other end of the spectrum, everyone is elated that Lupin is back for a third season while Suits continues to top the charts with ease.

Meanwhile, against all odds, in the space of a few days, two hit Netflix shows, albeit from completely opposing genres, have been neatly packaged to offer viewers experiences that recreate what they have loved to follow on screen. Fans of Love is Blind and Squid Game, keep reading.

Nothing says “surefire hit” like a new season of Lupin 4b5xd

Good old reliable Omar Sy never disappoints. Netflix subscribers are drawn to the French actor like bees to honey, so they were quick to tune into his third outing as charismatic and impressively sly thief Assane Diop AKA Lupin. Assane is now hiding out in Marseille after becoming the most wanted man in during season 2, but the harassment his wife Claire and son Raoul are facing at the hands of the media forces him to return to Paris.

What was once Netflix’s most-watched non-English show is still riding the wave with an audience approval rating of 77 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, paired nicely with a whopping 98 percent score from critics. Season 3 alone debuted on the review aggregator with a 100 percent critical score after eight reviews ⏤ a record almost as infallible as Assane’s. The season’s seven episodes have been streaming on the platform since Oct. 5.

Castlevania: Nocturne lands record-time renewal despite polarizing reviews 3c516h

Shadow and Bone fans are probably losing their minds right now. While their show is still walking the renewal tightrope nearly seven months after its second season dropped on Netflix, a show with a 45 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes has just gotten a super-speed season 2 order from the streamer.

Castlevania: Nocturne came out a week ago, but Netflix confirmed Friday that a second season was already in the works. The dark fantasy animated series might boast a 100 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, but that’s only based on 15 reviews, and subscribers’ comments tell a completely different story. “Poorly executed,” “hard to watch,” and “bland teenager soap opera” are only some among thousands of devastating comments left on the review aggregator website.

However, it does look like this is another case of review-bombing, which has become all too common for media led by women, particularly women of color. Fans of the original series and the video games took issue with the creative liberties employed in this new iteration, namely making Annette, a freed slave, the main character. Instead of having a balanced discussion about the story’s new direction, these viewers completely turned their backs on the franchise, calling it another victim of the “Woke” movement. Too bad for them, I guess, because Netflix couldn’t care less.

On the topic of good TV, Suits continues to prove that the old way might still be the best way 39u2w

Short binge-able shows are valuable to an extent, but there’s nothing like the long, slow-build TV of the aughts and ’10s where seasons had more than eight episodes and shows would run for more than three or four years. The immersive experience of watching a genuinely good, thoroughly built show like Suits should be making a comeback after the legal drama’s unprecedented success.

After three months, Suits is still at the top of the Nielsen streaming charts, breaking the record for most weeks at number one since the firm started compiling these stats in 2020. Subscribers of both Netflix and Peacock watched the Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht-led show for 2359 million minutes between the week of Sept. 4 and Sept. 10, contributing to its 12th consecutive week leading the table. Maybe it’s time we start rethinking the dried-out format of super short seasons with two-year-long hiatuses between releases and go back to basics.

If your thing is less fiction and more reality, we know just how you can make your Love is Blind fantasies come true 6j344v

If you were sitting at home watching the loved-up couples of Love is Blind go on a romantic getaway to the Mexican resort of your dreams and hating your life just a little bit, don’t worry ⏤ there’s a solution. It’s not the cheapest, but if you want to recreate the luxurious, hyper-relaxing experience of the reality dating program’s contestants, you actually can.

Grand Velas Riviera Maya, the beachfront Mexican hotel visited by the Love is Blind couples during the final stretch of the show’s fifth season, has created a package named after the Netflix show that includes one of the hotel’s best suites, discounts for airport transportation and activities, champagne and chocolates on arrival, spa treatments, and more. Per TMZ, the “Love is Blind experience” costs fans of the show at least $1,200 a night and will be available until Dec. 15.

There’s an immersive Squid Game experience coming, too 4p6y2r

A bit cheaper, and a lot less relaxing, is the experience Netflix is opening in Los Angeles’ Television City complex for Squid Game aficionados come Dec. 6 ⏤ and no, we don’t mean the dreadful reality competition game inspired by the South Korean hit series that’s coming out this November. In the case of this L.A. event, called Squid Game: The Trials, fans actually have to pay to participate (at least $38), and there’s no cash prize.

Still, this might still sound appealing for the lovers of challenges such as escape rooms and puzzles, as a fun, different kind of plan for a night out with friends or their partner. According to The Hollywood Reporter, participants will be let in by the terrifying villain of the show known as the “Front Man” and will then compete in “six escalating challenges, accumulating points as you advance,” which will surely be inspired by the games seen on the television phenomenon. Better yet, there will be plenty of Korean food and drinks, curated by YANGBAN chef Katianna Hong. Tickets go on sale Oct. 11.

If it isn't the biggest show on the planet by the end of today, something has gone seriously wrong.]]>
<![CDATA[

Anytime Netflix debuts a thriller, it’s guaranteed to become one of the biggest and most-talked about originals at the streaming service’s disposal. With that in mind, when the thriller in question also happens to be a series that saw both of its previous seasons rank among the most-watched shows in company history, then you’d best believe the excitement surrounding the return of Lupin is real.

Nobody really expected a French-language heist caper revolving around a gentleman thief who was himself inspired and indebted to a literary creation to wind up as a global sensation, but the combination of charismatic star Omar Sy, no shortage of style, and the sort of light and breezy entertainment precision-engineered to inspire binge-watching has turned Lupin into a worldwide phenomenon.

Since premiering yesterday, the seven-episode Part 3 hasn’t just maintained its perfect 100 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but it’s been flying high as one of the hottest trending topics on social media. Suffice to say, there’s not many dissenters out there, with Lupin continuing to bask in the warm glow of both critical and audience acclaim.

Not to dive into spoiler territory for those who haven’t caught up as of yet, but the door is left wide open for a Part 4 by the time the credits roll on the most recent finale. Should Lupin live up to the high standards set by its predecessors when it comes to nothing but cold, hard, viewership data, then you can bank on Netflix attempting to keep this gravy train rolling for as long as possible.

Will it achieve the remarkable feat for a third time?]]>
<![CDATA[

There aren’t many shows in Netflix history that have managed to become one of the streaming service’s Top 10 most-watched titles of all-time, and the number to have accomplished that feat twice is even more minuscule, so it goes without saying that Lupin is unquestionably one of the company’s marquee properties.

In fact, when Omar Sy’s first run of episodes as gentleman thief Assane Diop first premiered in January of 2021, it became the second top-viewed original series to ever release on Netflix behind Bridgerton‘s first season, while Part 2 ended up as the sixth-biggest foreign-language hit the streamer had ever seen.

Lupin Season 3
Image via Netflix

As a result, that places immense pressure on Part 3 to live up to the lofty expectations set by its predecessors, especially when almost two and a half years have ed since the second chapter was added to the content library in June of 2021. Absence does tend to make the heart grow fonder, and it helps exponentially that Lupin has managed to maintain its light-footed quality for the third time running.

Not only that, but the series is also carrying a perfect 100 percent critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and you can bet your house on millions upon millions of subscribers the world over bingeing the latest seven light, breezy, fast-paced, and fun-filled heist escapades as soon as they possibly can.

It may not be quite as splashy as many of Netflix’s other household names, but if you base it on nothing but how many people have watched, then Lupin has quietly become one of the most powerful weapons in the episodic arsenal.

The gentleman thief is back, and this time it's personal.]]>
<![CDATA[

Having become one of Netflix’s most-watched original shows of all time twice over, and then embarking on a lengthy absence from screens since the last batch of episodes dropped in June of 2021, there’s a massive amount of pressure on Lupin: Part 3 to pick up right from where it left off by delivering a light, breezy, and fleet-footed crime caper that further backs up its unexpected credentials as a marquee property for the streaming service.

This time around, though, Omar Sy’s gentleman thief Assane Diop has to tackle an altogether different type of mystery, one that’s embedded decades in his past. Toeing the line between what audiences have come to expect from the series and a much-needed evolution of the standard formula, Part 3 heads out in several new creative directions without sacrificing the twinkle in its eye or spring in its step that made it such a juggernaut to begin with.

Having exiled himself from his wife and son to secure their safety at the end of Part 2, the notorious thief is inevitably drawn back to Paris with plans to disappear and start a new life as a family. Of course, the ghosts of Assane’s past are always lurking in the shadows, and there are even several new ones thrown in for good measure to ladle mystery on top of intrigue, without forgetting about the impeccably-staged heists, revelations, and rug-pulls that have always been Lupin‘s stock-in-trade.

The most-wanted fugitive in all of returning to his old stomping ground for the fabled “one last job” smacks of predictability on the surface, and while Lupin isn’t going to win any points for originality no matter how hard it tries to branch out in Part 3, it’s never even tried to paint itself as anything other than escapist entertainment. As a result, despite all of the opposing forces closing in, Assane never once even feels remotely like he’s in any sort of real or tangible danger. Normally that would be a drawback, but it’s not as if anybody watches for high-stakes tension. He’s a borderline-unflappable hero brought to charismatic life once again by Sy, with the journey infinitely more important – and exciting – than the destination.

Across the seven new episodes set to premiere on Netflix next week on Oct. 6, the light-fingered protagonist gets caught up in ambitious plans to heist a priceless black pearl, a heavily-guarded Manet painting, and an antique bracelet deemed nigh-on tamper-proof, all while the authorities – and even his own family – remain equal parts confused, perplexed, and outraged that he continues to keep doing what he’s always done, which is tied to an early and ingeniously-executed early twist we won’t spoil here.

Pulling out every trick in its playbook from the Sherlock-esque flashbacks and forwards that show how the impossible events have, will, or could unfold – coupled with 007-style gadgets, time jumps, slow motion, and sleight of hand – the propulsive pacing, engaging performances, sweeping cinematography, and stylistic flourishes keep things moving along briskly, with Assane also carrying on his penchant for disguises that are laughable to everybody except the people who exist in Lupin‘s world.

As always, then, suspension of disbelief is key. Netflix has gone all-in on crime thrillers for years now, and while a huge number of them are dark, gritty, and realistic, that’s a sentiment that’s never been remotely applicable to Lupin. There are fake eyebrows, even less convincing beards, leaps in logic that barely make a lick of sense, and revelations that double back on themselves to offer yet another twist on top, which is all just part of the fun.

A full-blown folk hero this time out, the always-engaging Sy is more comfortable in the lead than ever before, exuding star presence and providing a boundlessly charming anchor that always ensures that no matter how much the story starts to creak under the weight of its own convoluted ambition, you’ll never be less than fully engaged and completely invested in going along for the ride.

Leaning into its increasingly exaggerated nature, Assane quite literally tells the police the exact date, time, and location of his next heist, knowing full well it’ll be guarded to the hilt. Can he pull it off? You know the answer, but that’s not even close to being the point. It’s a hard balance to strike between executing a labyrinthine caper that’s clearly rooted in a reality that isn’t our own without making it feel either too self-referential or tongue-in-cheek, never mind the fact Lupin is influenced by the Lupin books that inspired its main character, so it’s to the creative’s team credit they’ve pulled if off once again.

Sure, the family drama feels stretched too thin at points when the resolution is nigh-on inevitable from the opening frame of the premiere, and some of the extended scenes set in the past overstay both their frequency and welcome, but it’s hard not to get swept up in the joy of Lupin for the third time in a row. If there’s any justice in the world given Netflix’s rampant cancellation habit, it won’t be the last either.

The marquee announcement today is the long-awaited return of Lupin to the Netflix queues, with the third round of episodes set to put us back in the shoes of Assane Diop as he fights tooth and nail to restart a life with his family after making a few too many vengeful enemies.

Elsewhere, Netflix is serving up some routine whiplash in the decision-making department, as a smart move from the marketing team clashes with the inevitable failure of a gimmick that didn’t work the first several times.

Lupin fans aren’t exactly used to long waits, with the first two batches of episodes from the Omar Sy-led crime thriller series having dropped just six months apart from each other back in 2021, so two years must have felt like more of an eternity than usual.

But good things come to those who wait, and anyone familiar with Lupin knows that the French series is over-qualified as a “good thing.” All that’s left to do now is kick back and wait for that sweet October 5 release date.

After Choose Love, it’s time for Netflix to put the choose-your-own-adventure gimmick to bed 2t116i

A quick history lesson for you all: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch sucked, and so did Kaleidoscope. It’s absolutely no surprise, then, that Choose Love — the latest result of Netflix’s interactive narrative experiment — fell flat on all fronts.

Indeed, below-target viewership numbers and a loveless 18 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes will hopefully make this shallow rom-com be the final nail in the coffin for this endeavor, at least until Netflix brushes up on how to tell these stories better.

An action thriller doing well on the charts is nothing special… 6l2if

…but an action thriller that’s actually decent? Talk about groundbreaking.

It’s even more impressive when you consider that the film in question — The Italian Job — is an American remake of the popular 1969 film of the same name. Together, that creates the almost-mythical result of an actually-good American remake of a classic action thriller that’s somehow also also breaking into Top 10 territory — the natural habitat of the genre’s biggest stinkers — in more than a few of Netflix’s markets at the moment. Indeed, we may never see something like this again.

Everything Now isn’t the catchiest title in the world, but Netflix wasn’t taking any chances with the alternative 4wj1y

When the production company behind The Crown and Who Is Erin Carter? approach you with a brand-new show, it’s probably wise to just let them do their thing and wait for those sweet reviews and returns to start pouring in.

But, while the same can’t be said about the whole company, Netflix’s marketing team knows a thing or two about good decisions, and changing the title of said show from The F*ck-It Bucket to Everything Now was probably one such decision.

As alluded to earlier, the teen dramedy series comes from a tried-and-true home, and with less than a month until the show’s release, flexibility in marketing just might be key.

At long last, it's time to dive back in.]]>
<![CDATA[

Becoming one of Netflix’s biggest-ever shows is a feat that few episodic properties have ever been able to lay claim to, so the fact Lupin was able to do it twice over should be a pretty good indicator of just how popular the French crime thriller is on a global scale.

Upon debuting in January 2021, the Omar Sy-fronted caper was watched by 76 million households to wind up as the second top-viewed original series in Netflix history behind only the launch of Bridgerton, and while the figures dipped for Part 2, it still ended up as the sixth-largest non-English language TV show of all-time. With those sorts of numbers already in its back pocket, Part 3 has an awful lot to live up to.

Matters haven’t been helped by an excruciatingly long wait that’s gone well beyond two years, but Netflix has at long last unveiled the first full-length trailer for the return of Lupin, which also confirms an Oct. 5 release.

This time out, gentleman thief Assane Diop is in hiding having placed his wife and son in too much danger, but he’s drawn back out of hiding in an effort to convince them that abandoning altogether and starting a new life is the best course of action. As you can imagine, though, it’s not going to be anywhere near that straightforward.

26 months is nothing short of an eternity in the world of streaming content, but seeing as Lupin has already cemented itself as one of Netflix’s most popular non-English hits twice over and infiltrated the Top 10 in virtually every country at one stage or another, it would be safe to assume that third time will in fact mark the charm.

Another elaborate mystery is ready to be unraveled.]]>
<![CDATA[

A French crime thriller doesn’t sound like it would be the sort of series to capture the imagination of viewers around the globe, but Lupin has proven itself to be one of Netflix’s most popular original shows ever, so the expectations are sky-high for the third run.

The opening batch of episodes revolving around Omar Sy’s gentleman thief Assane Diop became the first French-language show to crack the Top 10 in the United States, and wound up as the streaming service’s second most-watched in-house episodic exclusive ever at the time of its release.

54 million households checked out the sophomore outing, too, so Lupin comes facing the weight of increased pressure. Based on what we’ve seen at today’s TUDUM event, though, the sleek and stylish caper is set to return to our screens with a bang. Still trying to evade the authorities at every turn, Assane is walking a tightrope that threatens to collapse if so much as a butterfly lands on it. Figuratively speaking, of course.

The first two volumes were released only five months apart, but we haven’t seen anything new from Lupin since June 2021, so we can only assume that absence has made the heart grow fonder – with the Parisian mystery having only become more popular as audiences discover for themselves what all the fuss was about.

A jewel in the Netflix crown, Sy itted that he’d love nothing more than for Lupin to continue for the rest of his life. While that sounds almost unfeasibly ambitious on paper, don’t bet against it.
