In Greene's view, Trump can do no wrong. ]]>
<![CDATA[

Marjorie Taylor Greene is once again shouting into the void — or more accurately, her X feed — and as is often the case, it’s to defend Donald Trump against The Washington Post. 1q6w6w

On June 10, Greene exploded online over a damning article claiming the Trump istration is preparing to send thousands of foreign detainees — including citizens from longtime allies like Britain, , and Italy — to Guantánamo Bay.

Her response? “THIS IS A LIE!!!” followed by an all-caps demand for a retraction and a threat: “I hope the Trump SUES the Washington Post!!!” The White House, through spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, has also denied the Post‘s reports.

The Post’s headline is a doozy: “Trump to ramp up transfers to Guantánamo, including citizens of allies.” According to the article, the Trump istration plans to send foreign nationals, potentially thousands, to the infamous detention center, without informing their home governments.

That’s not just bold; it’s a diplomatic hand grenade. The article cites unnamed istration officials and lays out the possibility that European citizens could be detained without their governments’ knowledge or consent.

Greene’s denial: “Fake News!” — but is it? 5v1r24

Greene’s fiery denial centers on the idea that The Washington Post fabricated the story. However, she offers no evidence to contradict the Post’s reporting, which is attributed to multiple officials familiar with the planning.

And here’s the kicker: Jeff Bezos, the Post’s owner, is hardly the liberal puppet MTG makes him out to be. Bezos has long maintained ties with both Republican and Democratic power players — and reportedly has had cordial relations with Trump himself, appearing at his second term inauguration, despite their occasional spats.

Greene’s accusation fits into a familiar MAGA script: the media lies, Trump is innocent, and every damaging revelation is a Deep State hit job. But unless she can point to an actual inaccuracy — not just scream “LIE!!!” in all caps — her defense reads more like fanfiction than fact-check.

What is the plan, really? 4w5421

The Post reports that Trump’s advisors are discussing Guantánamo as a central holding facility for a surge in deportations and detentions. These transfers wouldn’t just involve suspected terrorists but foreign nationals of all kinds — even those whose only crime is immigration-related.

Officials say the plan could involve secretly detaining citizens of allied nations without notifying those governments. That’s not just diplomatically risky — it’s a potential breach of international law and an invitation for blowback from NATO partners.

It’s worth noting that Guantánamo already carries the global stain of indefinite detention and human rights abuses. Trump not only promised to keep it open during his first term but also signed an executive order to that effect in 2018.

So the notion that he’d double down in a second term? Not far-fetched. Furthermore, in January 2025, Trump issued an executive memorandum to expand the Guantánamo Migrant Operations Center to hold up to 30,000 migrants.

Verdict: The Post has receipts. Greene has rage tweets 5d1rj

While Greene’s rant makes for great social media theater, it doesn’t hold up under scrutiny. The Washington Post isn’t exactly prone to pulling national security stories out of thin air. Without any contradictory evidence or even a clarifying statement from the Trump camp, the most logical takeaway is this: Greene doesn’t like the facts, so she’s attacking the messenger.

As for Trump, if he really is planning to send citizens of allies to Guantánamo without telling their governments — that’s not just a betrayal of American values. That’s how you start an international incident.

Tell us more about those "agent provocateurs," Marj]]>
<![CDATA[

In a fresh round of irony-laced political theater, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has waved the “Back the Blue” banner by calling a former top Capitol cop a liar.

In a post on X, Greene amplified January 6 conspiracy theories, claiming that former Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to deploy the National Guard during the Capitol riot and suggesting that Antifa and undercover agents incited the violence.

The timing? Perhaps not accidental. Greene’s latest outburst comes just as Donald Trump faces widespread criticism for sending the National Guard into Los Angeles to suppress anti-ICE protests—an aggressive move that’s drawing comparisons to authoritarian crackdowns around the globe.

Tell us, Marj — are there “agent provocateurs” in the room right now? 4c203v

In her June 11 post, Greene responded to former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund’s claim that multiple requests for National Guard assistance were denied ahead of the January 6 insurrection. “Yes he did,” Greene wrote, referring to Donald Trump allegedly authorizing the Guard, before launching into a tirade blaming Pelosi and shadowy “agent provocateurs” for the day’s chaos. Let’s break it down:

Was Pelosi in charge of the National Guard? 32673f

No, the Speaker of the House, at the time Nancy Pelosi, does not possess the authority to deploy the D.C. National Guard. This power resides with the President of the United States, through the Secretary of Defense. On January 6, 2021, Donald Trump was President, and Christopher Miller was the acting Secretary of Defense.

While initial requests for Guard assistance from Capitol Police Chief Sund were indeed denied, those denials came from the Capitol Police Board, which includes the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms and the Architect of the Capitol. While the Sergeants at Arms report to their respective chambers, they do not fall under the direct operational command of the Speaker.

Furthermore, records and congressional investigations confirm that President Trump did not formally authorize the widespread deployment of the National Guard to the Capitol until hours after the building had been breached.

Who is Chief Steven Sund? f1m51

Meanwhile, Steven Sund was the Capitol Police Chief on January 6, 2021. He resigned shortly after the riot. In the years since, he’s spoken openly about his belief that intelligence warnings were ignored and that his requests for National Guard were denied. In the tweet Greene quoted, Sund reiterated that he made “multiple requests” for Guard assistance on January 3, but was “DENIED each time.”

Those denials came from the Capitol Police Board, which includes the House Sergeant at Arms and Senate Sergeant at Arms, both of whom report to Congress but are not under Pelosi’s direct command.

And guess who Trump appointed to head the Pentagon at the time? That would be Christopher Miller, acting Defense Secretary, who has acknowledged he was wary of “overmilitarizing” the response. In short, Trump had the power. He didn’t use it.

Greene’s greatest hits (of misinformation) 1aq46

Greene’s claim about “Antifa and agent provocateurs” has been repeatedly debunked. The FBI has said there’s no evidence Antifa was behind the attack. The mob was filled with Trump ers—some of whom have since been convicted and sentenced (and now pardoned), including Proud Boys and Oath Keepers leaders.

So, while Greene continues to posture as a champion of police, she’s also undermining a former police chief with firsthand experience of January 6—all to prop up a narrative that paints Trump as the victim and Pelosi as the villain. It’s an “honor” only Greene could bestow: backing law enforcement, but only if they play along.

Marjorie Taylor Greene makes Donald Trump look moderate.]]>
<![CDATA[

Donald Trump’s use of the National Guard has been widely criticized. Many believe that the president did not have the right to make use of the military force, particularly the governor for California. But then again, some, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, think that Trump hasn’t gone far enough.

The president sent 2,000 troops to quell the protests happening in L.A. and parts of California. Governor Gavin Newsom has threatened to take Trump to court over the ordeal but in all honesty, it doesn’t seem like there’s much anyone can do to stop Trump right now. But Greene doesn’t want him to stop, in fact, she wants the president to ramp things up a notch or several.

In a post to X, the Georgia congressional district Representative called the protests in L.A. an “insurrection” and compared it to the Jan 6. Capitol riots.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is so far off the mark it’s actually hilarious k2p1z

First of all, these two events are in no way comparable. One was a literal insurrection (and it’s not the one happening right now). On top of that, Trump’s response to both events should tell you all you need to know. While he has condemned the protesters in L.A., he never condemned those who took part in Jan 6. In fact, he’s defended them and even pardoned a huge swathe of offences related to the insurrection.

Secondly, Greene makes the ridiculous suggestion that Trump should send 30,000 National Guard troops to L.A. to deal with the protest instead of the 2,000 he’s already sent. It’s unclear where she got this number from as she’s conveniently cropped out the source. However, on the Nationalguard.mil website it states that 6,200 National Guard were deployed to Washington D.C. to ensure a smooth presidential transition.

The fact that Greene is demanding 30,000 troops is downright insane, but we should expect no less from her. She is one of the few people on the planet who can actually make Donald Trump look like a reasonable guy. What she is suggesting is overkill to the extreme. Calling the protests and insurrection is a stretch, unlike what happened on Jan 6.

Concerningly, many seemed to agree with the Georgia rep, believing that more National Guard were required.

As usual Greene’s rhetoric is intended to be inflammatory and rile people up. She accuses “foreign nationals” and “communists anarchists” of declaring war on the government which is another stretch of the truth. In reality the National Guard shouldn’t even be in L.A. right now, even Donald Trump said so, albeit five years ago, but still, it’s Gavin Newsom’s responsibility to call them in, not Trump.

A broke clock is right twice a day.]]>
<![CDATA[

Marjorie Taylor Greene just took to Twitter to share that she did not know what the bill she just voted for says about the regulation of AI.

The often under-discussed aspect of Trump’s “one big beautiful bill” is that it’s 1,000 pages. That’s a massive undertaking — that’s as long as at least two Harry Potter books — and there’s always been the question of who actually read it. And were the people who drafted it counting on that? Well, whether they were or not, Marjorie Taylor Greene just offered herself as tribute and itted she never actually read the whole thing.

Greene has been making her usual media rounds, proudly sharing how she thinks it’s an honor to have played a part in voting for Trump’s enormous bill. There were already conversations about how the bill affects the national deficit and Medicaid, but somehow none of that raised any concerns for Greene. That is, until she stumbled on some controversial language about artificial intelligence that gave her pause.

The recent GOP election wins were always going to mean major tax reliefs. However, what most people didn’t expect was just how many other tangentially related clauses would be stuffed into the bill. Everywhere you look, someone finds a new reason to be displeased. Even Elon Musk has called out the GOP for having no shame in voting the bill through the House.

But the specific clause on pages 278–279 prevents states from making or enforcing any rules concerning AI for 10 years. That’s a lifetime in tech — especially for something evolving as fast as AI. Rep. Greene finally read the bill and itted she didn’t specifically know about the AI clause. Now, she wants that part removed.

The Georgia representative said in part on X, “Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278–279 of the OBBB that strips states of the right to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years. I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of states’ rights, and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there.”

Representative Eric Swalwell quipped back with wrath, saying, “You have one job,” even using expletives to demand his colleague read the bill. Rep. Greene has since said that when the Senate brings the bill back for a second round of House voting with amended clauses, she won’t vote for it if the AI regulation — or rather, non-regulation — is still there.

Demanding that AI get no regulation definitely sounds like something written by one of the billionaires Trump tethered around to Saudi Arabia. As they say about broken clocks, Rep. Greene is 100% right on this one. There’s just nobody who can say with full certainty what AI will be like next year, much less 10 years from now.

Every other developing industry gets government oversight. Something with this much power cannot be allowed to operate without the checks and balances that every other titan industry has to go through. AI could vastly improve our lives. But in the wrong hands, things might be very different.

The reality is far less impressive.]]>
<![CDATA[

Marjorie Taylor Greene is celebrating, folks. Because the congresswoman from Georgia has just declared victory in her fight against the media.

This week, Greene took to X to announce what she’s calling a major victory for “the American people.” According to Greene, years of taxpayer dollars funding “Left-wing propaganda” are coming to an end thanks to the Trump-backed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its proposed $9.4 billion rescissions package. The cuts will target federal funding for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), National Public Radio (NPR), and even the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Because, you know, nothing screams “fiscal conservatism” like ensuring rural communities lose access to educational programming and global humanitarian aid gets a giant middle finger.

Greene’s announcement is less of a victory and more of a desperate attempt to appear relevant. After all, her legislative record isn’t exactly what you’d call impressive. In her time in Congress, she’s introduced a litany of bills, amendments, and resolutions—many of them performative, few of them substantive. Only six of her bills have ever become law, and those were largely limited to, yes, post offices.

She’s alienated moderates, infuriated leadership, and cemented herself as a figurehead of far-right extremism. Recent polling shows her approval ratings in Georgia hovering somewhere between “abysmal” and “please stop.” But hey, why worry about such trivial matters as electability or governance when you can make headlines by defunding public broadcasting? The rescissions package Greene is so proud of has its roots in the Department of Government Efficiency.

DOGE’s mission, ostensibly, is to root out “waste, fraud, and abuse” in federal spending. In practice, this has translated into slashing funding for programs that conservatives have long derided as partisan or unnecessary. PBS and NPR have been frequent targets of Republican ire, accused of pushing a “woke agenda” and being little more than Democratic mouthpieces. Never mind that both organizations consistently rank among the most trusted media outlets in the country.

Public broadcasting serves as a lifeline for millions of Americans, particularly in rural areas where commercial media is scarce. PBS provides educational programming like Sesame Street, while NPR offers in-depth news coverage that goes beyond the soundbites and sensationalism of cable news. These are services that benefit everyone, regardless of political affiliation. But Greene and her allies aren’t interested in nuance. For them, this is a battle against “fake news” and “radical gender ideology,” buzzwords designed to rile up their base without offering any real solutions.

The Congresswoman has found yet another opponent.]]>
<![CDATA[

Marjorie Taylor Greene seems to be going through a crisis of conscience on X. And she wants you, the internet, and even AI to know she’s indeed an “imperfect sinner.”

On a fateful evening, Greene took to X to make clear how she’s a model Christian, a proud nationalist, and how she represents the greatest people on earth. Pride in your home and creating a sense of belonging has been the only thing her side of the aisle have had to offer their voters lately. When it comes to actual issues like consumer protection and Medicaid, they only sell half-truths and a dash of xenophobia. And her comments were understandably calling her out for multiple actions that do not align with someone who believes in Christ’s teaching of peace, love, and unity.

What was so bizarre about the entire thing was who she chose to respond to. Greene didn’t like the X AI bot Grok’s reading of her Christian values. Grok is just an AI bot with no real opinions and searches the web, X itself, and threads an opinion on information that it finds online. No original thoughts — that is important to note. Because Greene felt the need to try dunking on the AI by calling it “non-human platform” that’s “left-leaning” and accused it of spreading “fake news.” That’s like accusing your calculator of spreading fake math.

Greene has a grave misunderstanding of how AI works. And even if you do try to employ “fake news” in generative AI, as the owner of X recently learned, the immense amount of information will override whatever you try to jam in there if it doesn’t align with the overwhelming evidence-based data. In a sense, AI — even with its multiple downsides — is the answer to fake news. And on X, you’d find multiple s directly asking it whether what was said is true or not.

s on X took the opportunity to mock Greene for greatly misreading the room. One even called her by her infamous moniker, “three toes.” Another noted that this isn’t the first time the MAGA insiders are arguing with the appointed robot on Elon’s app. Another just chose to remind Greene that she’s losing an argument to a robot.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is no stranger to having public musings about deep topics through her X. The only difference is now she has to contend with AI — who she can’t just dismiss as “the other side.” It’s doubly amusing because mere months ago all Republicans were praising X as the last bastion of free speech, and now they have to eat their humble pie.

When objectivity is your enemy, you’re doing something wrong. Marjorie Taylor Greene has long been the self-appointed voice of MAGA, and has defended everything they do — even including Jan. 6. While it’s just a fun thing to do to see them eat their words, there’s another worrying side to it to consider.

AI is not just about chatbots calling out lies on social media. It has other adverse societal issues that need to be dealt with, and they’re growing every day. Lawmakers not even understanding the basics of it is worrisome.

@grok had something to say about it. ]]>
<![CDATA[

If you thought irony was dead in American politics, allow Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to revive it in full gospel choir. In a tweet posted on May 23, Greene declared herself “a Christian, an imperfect sinner saved by grace and faith in Jesus,” followed by an imioned laundry list of nationalist pride, mom vibes, and bootstrap capitalism.

But critics were quick to call out the dissonance between her self-proclaimed “Christian values” and her enthusiastic vote just days earlier for the House GOP’s latest legislative “disaster”-piece: the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” One particularly sharp reply read, “Clearly you’re also an egomaniac.” Another added, “@grok is it true? Is she really a Christian">

Trump dubbed the legislation “big” and “beautiful”—likely because he had a hand in branding it, not because he’s worried about Americans skipping meals or losing their Medicaid. Greene, ever the MAGA loyalist, dutifully backed the bill like it was the Second Coming of Reaganomics. But let’s be real: if this bill is beautiful, then austerity must be the new prosperity.

“May God bless each of you and may God bless America!!!” Greene concluded in her tweet, wrapping a brutal legislative gut-punch in a shiny evangelical bow. America may be blessed, but if this bill becomes law, millions of Americans certainly won’t feel it.

Self-awareness has never been her strong suit.]]>
<![CDATA[

In a display of tone-deafness, Marjorie Taylor Greene declared her congressional “suffering” officially over – now that she’s helped push through legislation that could strip healthcare access from millions of Americans.

The Georgia representative took to social media to proclaim her “blessing” at finally getting to vote for the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill.” Greene’s celebratory post declared an end to her four-year “suffering.” “I have served, or rather suffered, in Congress,” Greene wrote. For someone who voluntarily ran for office (twice!), her characterization of the experience as “suffering” raises questions about her understanding of the concept.

The congresswoman’s jubilation centered around several conservative policy victories embedded in the massive spending package. Chief among these were defunding Planned Parenthood, eliminating government funding for gender-affirming care, and implementing school choice – a trifecta Greene described as “incredible conservative victories.” Nowhere in her gleeful announcement did she acknowledge the potential human cost of these policy changes.

House Republicans barely pushed the legislation through by a paper-thin margin, launching it toward a Senate where it faces uncertain reception. The bill represents a major political victory for the president, who had been relentlessly pressuring lawmakers for its approval as a foundational element of his term’s agenda. Reports indicate he grew increasingly irritated with hesitant Republican lawmakers, even suggesting their expulsion from the party – because nothing demonstrates leadership quite like threatening to banish anyone who questions your wisdom.

What Greene conveniently omitted during her victory celebration was the legislation’s staggering budgetary impact. According to independent analysis, this supposedly “beautiful” bill would pile nearly four trillion additional dollars onto our already astronomical national debt of $36 trillion. That’s not fiscally conservative policy-making; it’s more akin to financing a luxury yacht purchase while your home teeters on foreclosure.

The healthcare reductions alone amount to roughly six hundred billion dollars, potentially stripping medical coverage from over seven million Americans – approximately the entire population of Washington state suddenly facing medical bankruptcy. Greene’s characterization of these cuts as merely eliminating “fraudsters and non-citizens” conveniently ignores the millions of legitimate American beneficiaries who will suddenly find themselves without access to doctors or medications.

Similarly, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) faces approximately $267 billion in cuts over the next decade. States will shoulder an increasing burden of the program’s costs beginning in 2028, effectively forcing local governments to choose between feeding vulnerable residents or balancing already strained budgets.

Greene’s celebration included enthusiastic thanks to Trump and his “great White House team” for their collaboration on the bill. She also sent “big hugs, love, and thanks” to her district – Georgia’s 14th – for sending her to “fight” for them. Greene and her colleagues are prioritizing ideological victories over practical outcomes for American families. For a party that often claims to champion family values, their policies sure seem designed to make family life harder for those already struggling.

They make quite the couple. ]]>
<![CDATA[

In case you thought American politics had already reached peak absurdity, Marjorie Taylor Greene’s boyfriend, Brian Glenn, just took things to the next level on Real America’s Voice.

Glenn, who’s best known for being a conservative cheerleader with a press badge and Greene’s not-so-secret MAGA man, made headlines when he declared: “People are angry. You know, forget about the big beautiful bill, people want big beautiful handcuffs on some of these people.”

Yes, “big beautiful handcuffs.” Because nothing says “land of the free” like fantasizing about rounding up political opponents and clapping them in irons.

Glenn added, “Because for far too long we saw– we saw Thomas Crooks [take] a shot at Trump in the head. He’s dead. We don’t know any more about that. Ryan Routh tried to shoot Trump on a golf course. We still haven’t seen a trial on that. And then James Comey comes out and says, yeah, ’86 47,’ and what do we do? He takes it down. He gets the number one book, and we move along.”

Okay, yeah, assassination attempts might warrant handcuffs. Still, as it stands, Routh deserves due process just like everyone else, and Comey has faced heat for the since-deleted ’86 47′ post, so it’s not exactly like we’ve ‘moved along.’ Meanwhile, Comey’s post is freedom of speech, at least at this point, so Glenn seems to suggest anyone who speaks out against the president should be arrested — no trial, no due process, no protection.

Who is Brian Glenn (and why is he talking)? 5bc66

But in case you’re wondering who Glenn is and why we care what he has to say, let’s unpack Glenn’s law-and-order cosplay fantasy. Glenn is a right-wing media personality for Real America’s Voice, the network that makes Fox News look like NPR. He’s been dating Marjorie Taylor Greene since at least 2023, and while the couple has never been shy about their relationship, Glenn’s real romance seems to be with Donald Trump-era talking points.

He’s itted to lobbing softballs at Donald Trump during interviews because. As The Daily Beast reported, Glenn once said, “My job as a conservative journalist is to ask questions that highlight the good things that he’s doing for this country that a lot of the media outlets in there simply won’t ask.”

Glenn’s “Big Beautiful” breakdown 2bt6i

So what exactly was Glenn ranting about during his Real America’s Voice tirade? (Besides Americans who aren’t groveling at Trump’s feet.) Apparently, a regular ol’ “big beautiful bill” — like the kind Trump used to brag about building (you know, in between tweeting and golfing) — isn’t enough anymore. Now, it’s time for “big beautiful handcuffs.”

The MTG + Brian Glenn MAGA love story 3pw68

Let’s not forget: this isn’t just any right-wing talking head. Glenn’s dating Marjorie Taylor Greene, the walking QAnon bulletin board who represents Georgia’s 14th district in Congress. Greene rose to fame pushing conspiracy theories, heckling during the State of the Union, and attempting to impeach everyone short of the guy who makes the White House coffee.

Together, they make a perfect couple — she brings the tinfoil, he brings the microphone. And when Glenn’s not pushing for mass arrests, he’s also made time to suggest racial profiling at polling places might be a great idea, according to Cooks & Liars. Yup. Very cool. Very constitutional.

What this Means (other than “yikes”) 524z6q

Glenn’s unhinged “big beautiful handcuffs” fantasy is less a political platform than a MAGA fever dream. It’s also a glimpse into the authoritarian vibes some on the far-right are openly embracing now. Disagree with Trump? Glenn wants you cuffed. Vote the wrong way? He wants you profiled. Wear a hoodie to the Capitol? Don’t even get him started — just ask Volodymyr Zelensky, who Glenn once slammed for not wearing a suit while visiting the White House.

So next time you hear someone talk about freedom and liberty while waving a flag and wearing a red hat, just : Brian Glenn thinks the true symbol of America isn’t the Constitution — it’s a shiny pair of “big beautiful handcuffs.”

MTG has never held back on social media except when it comes to comion for her political rivals.]]>
<![CDATA[

Marjorie Taylor Greene has never been one to hold back on social media, but when it came to former President Joe Biden‘s aggresive cancer diagnosis, she had a surprisingly comionate side.

In an X post, Greene shared, “I’m sorry to see this news. Cancer is truly awful. My Dad ed away in 2021 with cancer. Prays for Joe Biden and his family.”

Biden’s office announced that the 82-year-old former president had been diagnosed with an advanced form of prostate cancer that has already spread to his bones. Despite the grim outlook, Biden, who lost his son Beau to brain cancer in 2015, issued a hopeful statement alongside his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, and their cat Willow, thanking ers for their well-wishes.

But while Greene did have some nice words for Biden, she also rushed to publicly fellow conservative firebrand Scott Adams, the cartoonist behind “Dilbert” and a staunch Trump er.

Unfortunately, Adams has cancer, too, the same kind as Biden he says, but Greene failed to mention any of the controversial things Adams has said, including in 2023 when he called Black Americans a “hate group” and advised white people to “get the hell away from Black people,” among other examples. Instead, she “thanked” Adams for his “thoughts.”

“Many prayers for you during this difficult time” 4b3442

Upon hearing about Adams’ diagnosis, MTG suddenly found her voice. She quickly took to X to offer , writing, in part, “Thank you for always sharing your thoughts and engaging in important discussions that affect us all.” Perhaps because Adams has embraced his status as a MAGA icon, frequently wading into right-wing culture wars and controversies. Like Greene, his unapologetic for Trump and disdain for “woke” culture have made him a polarizing figure, especially after his racially charged comments in 2023 led to the widespread cancellation of his long-running comic strip.

Even Trump and Vance managed to say some nice words 1s5c23

Of course, Greene isn’t the only one who commented on Biden’s health update. Even Donald Trump, who once dismissed Biden as a mentally unfit “sleepy Joe,” managed to muster a few kind words, publicly wishing his 2020 opponent a “speedy recovery.” Vice President JD Vance, a rising MAGA star in his own right, also chimed in, putting aside partisan sniping (sorts of) to send his best to the president.

For someone who claims to be a defender of Christian values, her selective memory about what Green has said and done stands out. Greene openly ing Adams despite his past has not gone unnoticed. It’s a reminder that, for some, political loyalty may outweigh human decency.

It seems the congresswoman who never misses a chance to slam Biden has found a rare occasion to be nice. But prayers for Adams, with no “thanking” Biden for his years of service. Maybe Greene’s idea of comion just has a bright red hat on it.

Crockett stapled the "receipts" to Greene's "metaphorical forehead."]]>
<![CDATA[

In a political landscape that often feels like an endless loop of bad takes and misinformation, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has once again secured her spot as the reigning queen of racially charged rhetoric.

Her latest attempt to rewrite history came in a social media post where she boldly claimed, “George Floyd died from a drug overdose.” Given that Greene’s grasp on facts is about as sturdy as a sandcastle in a hurricane, this claim was as predictable as it was incorrect.

For those keeping score at home, George Floyd did not die from a drug overdose. Floyd’s death, which sparked one of the largest social justice movements in American history, was ruled a homicide by multiple medical experts.

The official autopsy report and the testimony during the murder trial of former officer Derek Chauvin cited “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression” as the cause of death. In plain : Floyd died because a cop knelt on his neck for over nine minutes while he begged for air.

“Marjorie, I know the truth confuses you” 1n3513

But why let the facts get in the way of a perfectly inflammatory tweet? Greene took to X to spread this falsehood. In a clapback for the ages, Greene’s archnemesis, Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett responded, “Marjorie, I know the truth confuses you and facts ain’t your strong suit—so let me break it down real slow: George Floyd didn’t die from drugs. He died because Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for 9 minutes. That’s called murder.” Ouch.

Crockett didn’t just pull the receipts—she stapled them to the metaphorical forehead of her ill-informed colleague.

In a response, Greene accused Crockett of somehow siding with drug cartels for rejecting her fantasy version of Floyd’s death.

Greene wrote, “George Floyd died from a drug overdose. He was one of the hundreds of thousands of Americans killed by fentanyl that is trafficked across our border by cartels. Jasmine Crockett doesn’t care about Americans killed by drugs like George Floyd; she cares about protecting cartels from being deported.”

Greene’s misinformation merry-go-round 1v3d6f

This isn’t Greene’s first ride on the misinformation merry-go-round. She’s been a consistent purveyor of conspiracy theories, from claiming that Jewish space lasers started wildfires in California to insisting that mask mandates and COVID vaccines were government overreach designed to oppress Americans. But her latest jab at Floyd’s memory struck a particularly sour note, especially as the nation continues to grapple with the racial inequalities his death forced into the spotlight.

Greene’s attempt to rewrite Floyd’s death as a mere drug overdose is not just a stunning display of historical revisionism but a dangerous attempt to undermine the very real, very tragic circumstances of his murder. This kind of rhetoric not only disrespects Floyd’s memory but also emboldens those who seek to dismiss the systemic issues that made his death possible in the first place.

As for Crockett, she has proven herself more than capable of standing up to Greene’s brand of inflammatory politics. In just a few words, she managed to distill the frustration of millions who have grown weary of the relentless spin machine that turns fact into fiction at the speed of a Greene tweet.

So while Greene doubles down on her revisionist talking points, Crockett’s sharp retort serves as a reminder that truth still has a place in American discourse—even if it occasionally has to shout over the clamor of bad takes and historical gaslighting.

Here’s hoping Greene’s next attempt at rewriting history comes with a little more research and a little less rhetoric. But hey, if it doesn’t, at least we know Crockett will be ready with the facts—and a killer comeback—to set the record straight.

What her words could cause is "civil unrest."]]>
<![CDATA[

In her latest bid for attention, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has taken to social media to advocate for the pardon of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd, and Greene’s followers have piled on in the comments section.

Greene’s statement, posted on Instagram on May 14, 2025, says, “I strongly Derek Chauvin being pardoned and released from prison. George Floyd died of a drug overdose.

“JFC you are vile’ 2i4yc

To set the record straight: George Floyd’s death was officially ruled a homicide. The Hennepin County medical examiner concluded that Floyd died due to cardiopulmonary arrest caused by law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.

Meanwhile, an independent autopsy commissioned by Floyd’s family also determined that he died from asphyxia resulting from sustained pressure. Maybe Greene missed these details because she can’t read.

Comments on Green’s post slammed her for ing the ludicrous notion that Chauvin should be pardoned, like the following,

And finally this, “Marjorie, your claim that George Floyd died of a drug overdose is a fiction so far removed from reality, it might as well be shelved in the fantasy section.”

Chauvin was convicted in April 2021 of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. He was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison for the murder charge and later received a 21-year federal sentence for violating Floyd’s civil rights, to be served concurrently.

Governor Walz has talked to people, “just to prepare for that” 5z60

Despite Chauvin’s convictions, Greene and some right-wing figures have called for Chauvin’s pardon. This has led Minnesota officials, including Governor Tim Walz, to prepare for potential unrest should a pardon occur.

In a recent WCCO interview, Walz said, “I will be candid, I’ve talked to people in the community just to prepare for that.” It’s worth noting that even if a federal pardon were granted, Chauvin would still serve his state sentence, as Walz pointed out.

Walz said, “If Donald Trump exercises his constitutional right to [pardon Chauvin,] whether I agree… and I strongly disagree with him. If he issues that pardon, we will simply transfer Derek Chauvin to serve out his 22 and a half years in state prison in Minnesota.”

Greene’s assertion about Floyd’s cause of death has been widely debunked and contradicts established medical findings. Greene’s comments not only disregard the judicial process but also perpetuate misinformation about a pivotal moment in the fight for racial justice, but then again, this is the same person who, after the death of Pope Francis in April, posted, “Today there were major shifts in global leadership. Evil is being defeated by the hand of God.” — So really, what do we expect?
