In a story that feels ripped out of The Morning Show, news journalists Don Lemon and Megyn Kelly are beefing about Joy Reid’s departure from MSNBC. 

In case you missed it, we recently learned that longtime journalist Reid, as well as her namesake The ReidOut newscast, would be cut from MSNBC’s programming, with the final episode with Reid as its host airing on Monday. It comes amid a broader shakeup to television news, with fellow veterans like Lester Holt, Chuck Todd and Jim Acosta also announcing their departure from their respective shows and networks in recent weeks.

So sweeping are the changes to broadcast news that they captured the attention of Kelly, who took to social media to revel in the announcement of Reid’s departure. “ when Joy Reid laughingly mocked ‘White women tears’ as pathetic and offensive to her? Who’s crying now, Joy?” the conservative commentator wrote on X. “Good riddance to the absolute worst person on television, and shame on NBC for letting it go on this long.”

Elsewhere, Kelly doubled-down on her sentiment during an episode of her podcast, saying Reid was fired by the network “because she’s a racist, horrible news anchor with no ratings.” That’s where Lemon came in. Taking to his own YouTube show, the former CNN reporter launched a 20-minute evisceration of Kelly, whom he once worked with during their shared time at NBC’s Today show. “The worst person from television was fired from NBC and the Today show a few years ago, and that was Megyn Kelly,” Lemon said. 

He delivered the message while drinking from a Today show mug, in an apparent reference to Kelly’s time there. Dredging up that history, Lemon recalled instances of what he deemed to be Kelly’s past offensive behavior, which certainly tracks given that she was fired from in 2018 after she defended white people dressing in blackface for Halloween. “NBC did something good with that,” Lemon said of Kelly’s dismissal, before launching into a swear-filled oral history of his fellow journalist (a generous word for Kelly, but alas). 

In particular, Lemon called out Kelly’s past comments about Kaitlan Collins, playing a clip in which she called the CNN host a “cold-hearted b****” and asking whether that was “really necessary.” He went on to recall a time when he was “actually friendly with Megyn Kelly,” and claimed to have given her the “first opportunity to be on that network in primetime.” Later, Lemon delivered his mic-drop moment. “So let me just say to Megyn Kelly, in my 30-some years as a journalist and my 50-some years as a person of color: Go f— yourself.”

The feud has added to an already turbulent time for broadcast news, with the mass overhaul at NBC thought to be the result of the new presidential istration. Last month, Rashida Jones (not that one) announced that she was stepping down from her role as president of MSNBC. Then came Donald Trump’s attacks on the free press, and Holt’s departure as the longtime anchor of NBC News Nightly. 

Reid addressed her career change in a tearful clip circulated on social media. “My show had value,” she said, adding that “what I was doing had value.” Trump, a perpetual TV-watcher to the point of squaring his eyes, has yet to comment on the shakeups, but he has certainly made attacking journalists a top priority in the past.

Trumpism is now the sole voice in the Republican Party, and few people demonstrate that better than Megyn Kelly.

In the run-up to the 2016 election, Kelly was one of the few journalists who were willing to hold then-candidate Trump to some kind of standard. She famously quizzed him about his boreish and insulting treatment of women, and was roundly criticized by the Right for daring to voice a valid concern. Back then, her response (as per the NYT) was that she wasn’t going to “apologize for doing good journalism.” Nowadays, she is calling young Hollywood actresses “pig” (as per Hollywood Reporter) for posting negatively about the former, and soon-to-be, president.

The spat between the Snow White star and the former Fox host began when, on election night, Zegler used Instagram to post pretty strongly about her disdain for the results, stating “May Trump ers and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace,” and “there is a deep deep sickness in this country.”

Zegler has been a target of right-wing cry-bullies for quite some time, mostly for having the audacity to not be white despite being cast as the titular character in Snow White, and also having opinions about the original that weren’t entirely glowing. So, it makes sense that Kelly would jump on this, and in the process show that she is willing to trample over those concerned about women’s healthcare and reproductive rights so she can continue to be a media darling for the right, and keep the cash rolling in.

Zegler did post an apology afterwards in which she said she regretted adding to the atmosphere of hatred, stating as per THR:

“Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on Instagram last week. I let me emotions get the best of me. Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse.”

Calling a young woman a pig for having opposing viewpoints is very much in the Trump playbook of responses, which again goes to show just how much his particular brand of toddler-like screeching and unadulterated hatred has taken control of the Republican Party and its media ecosystem.

Aside from attacking young women on behalf of Trump, Kelly also appears to be working overtime on producing propagandistic tweets to help the former Apprentice host and convicted felon. The media personality posted about the Kamala Harris campaign paying a $1 million fee to Oprah Winfrey for an interview the famous host did with the vice-president earlier this year, stating that it was “grossly unethical.”

Of course, Oprah’s shadiness and close personal links to some truly terrible and abusive people means that anything she does should be looked into. And, ethics in politics is important, so potential breaches should be called out. Yet, Kelly seems to have ignored the egregiously criminal nature of Trump’s entire operation, once again proving that anything vaguely resembling the left in America must be saint-like, while conservatives can get away with putting potential child traffickers in positions of power.

Outside of his attempted destruction of the U.S. political system, Trump has been involved in some truly iconic scams, from the multi-level marketing game (legally not pyramid schemes, for totally legitimate reasons) to the comically criminal Trump University. He is also, of course, a convicted felon, and has been found in civil court to have been a sexual assaulter. And these are just the crimes that have managed to cut through his shield of lawyers and wealth. There’s barely enough bandwidth on the internet to go into the rest of the highly credible yet not proven in court accusations against him, which again range from rape to treason.

Yet, Kelly remains quiet about this. It’s never a good sign when people who once were willing to speak out bury their heads in the sand so deeply an ostrich would be embarrassed to be with them. Yet that’s what the conservative personality is now doing, only peeking out to attack the young women she once claimed to want to defend.

Conservative commentator and media personality Megyn Kelly itted what everyone else was already saying about MAGA devotees, with something approaching self-awareness — before falling short at the final hurdle. Kelly, who has had to apologize for her comments regarding blackface in the past as reported by CNN and others, is no stranger to controversy.

Kelly’s blackface comments are far from the only racist comments she’s made. As reported in USA Today, Megyn Kelly has a history of making racist claims, from statements such as “Jesus was white” to referring to former First Lady Michelle Obama as “Obama’s Baby Momma.” She even waded into an argument with star Charlize Theron for her of drag queens. Following her fall from grace after her defence of blackface, Megyn Kelly has found a new home in the right wing pipeline as a stalwart defender of Donald Trump and his unhinged MAGA agenda.

Believe it or not, though, Megyn Kelly once had beef with Republican presidential candidate septuagenarian Donald Trump, with ABC News and others reporting on the specifics, thanks to his comments about women. Trump even shared a tweet calling Kelly a “bimbo.” But Megyn Kelly has well and truly drunk the Kool-Aid, stating “There’s just something about him,” as reported by Vanity Fair.

So perhaps it’s no surprise that Kelly, despite criticizing Trump for conduct at his rallies, is keen to get the MAGA message out with what was meant to be a light-hearted post to her X/Twitter .

But the weirdness inherent in Kelly’s post wasn’t missed by eagle-eyed X s, as many took to the platform to express their exasperation and amusement at the media personality’s confused behavior. Prolific X Art Candee addressed the MAGA-shaped, garbage-scented elephant in the room perfectly:

Other s were quick to add their own two cents, with most echoing the same sentiments.

Megyn Kelly’s of the MAGA movement is particularly weird, as she calls out Trump for his sexism and the sexism of his official campaign — this coming after a highly public, years-long feud with the man for the very same issue — and yet apparently sees no contradiction in her for the man and his movement. A movement which is deeply, inherently characterized by its opposition to women’s dignity and their rights. So it’s no wonder that people are calling out the discrepancies in her judgment. Even the Twitter commentariat has noted her ping-pong political views.

The MAGA movement is no stranger to weirdness, though, so maybe this all to be expected. From total cult-like behavior, to pointless and ineffective boycotts of popular chains, and even totally cringe interventions by MAGA billionaire Elon Musk, for MAGA, weird is the new normal. But with election day looming large, it’s not a good look.

Donald Trump has been declared the worst President of all time in a poll of Americans, and continues to attract high-profile detractors such as Barbra Streisand, Mark Hamill, and Stephen King. Trump has even taken to joking about his own racism, in a sign that the mask is well and truly off.

So all this really begs the question — are Megyn and MAGA okay? (No. The answer is no.)

A single mention of drag queens has once again proven enough to spark a brand new feud between those ing them and those believing they target children. The topic gets hotter every day and this time it’s between Charlize Theron and Megyn Kelly in a battle royale to the death, or at least some fans seem to want it to go there.

The fight started with Charlize Theron doing a shoutout for a drag queen fundraiser over the weekend called “Drag Isn’t Dangerous.” Her video went viral where she says she’ll “f–k anybody up who is, like, trying to f–k with anything with” drag queens. Of course, the fact that the Atomic Blonde actress has a transgender child has now become a part of the conversation after she helped the drag community raise over half a million dollars to combat anti-LGBT legislation and specifically, legislation that is attempting to ban drag queen children’s book readings for kids.

When Megyn Kelly heard those words, she challenged Theron to come “f-k her up!” She sees the drag queen performances as an attempt to groom children, which is a common thought among conservatives who are growing in their belief that the LGBTQ+ community is targeting kids. Kelly’s response is quite surreal given the fact that Theron played her in Bombshell, a film about sexual harassment at FOX News when Roger Allies was running the place.

While Theron is yet to respond, her fans have accepted Kelly’s challenge on her behalf and are already placing their bets.

Imagine if Theron actually takes this challenge seriously. A certain commercial comes to mind when one sits down to daydream about the final result.

Seeing that Theron played Kelly in Bombshell with such finesse that she got an Oscar nomination for it, references to the fact were bound to wiggle their way into the drama.

It is believed that playing an action hero can rub off if the training is taken seriously. If that is indeed the case, Theron should be considered a formidable adversary.

While we would like to remind you an actual physical tussle happening between the two is nothing more than a pipe dream, those already imagining the epic battle are sure Kelly or any of her ers have no chance of winning.

Of course, the conservative commenters are showing their for Kelly, but no one is commenting on whether or not she could win a fight against Theron.
