It goes without saying that when the first Black Panther came out, Marvel was flying high. They ruled the zeitgeist, and perhaps more importantly, they ruled the box office. Things have changed significantly since then. Michael B. Jordan is a bona fide star now — he just led Sinners to becoming one of the most profitable and raved-about movies of the year so far.

On the other hand, Thunderbolts is a good enough movie, but there’s already talk that it’s set to actually lose money. And some of the MCU’s recent releases have just fully missed the mark. The rug feels like it’s slowly being pulled from underneath the Marvel machine, so they might actually need to figure out how to create a pathway for stars like Michael B. Jordan to return.

If Michael B. Jordan does come back, it’s not going to be either surprising or novel. There’s a pretty interesting aspect to how they chose to bring back Robert Downey Jr. But not all reintegration of characters needs to be that creative. The Avengers, luckily, have a mechanism that makes it possible for them to have their shawarma and eat it too: incorporating other universes. As fans obviously know, Killmonger died in the first Black Panther, and Letitia Wright was already announced to be back as the Black Panther in the Avengers. But if recent reports are to be believed, Michael B. Jordan will be playing a variant of his famed character in the movie.

The report originates from the AlexFromCC. In the Marvel scoops game, you’re only as good as your last correct scoop. And this was right on the money when they were first to report Hailee Steinfeld would Hawkeye. So there’s at least a reason to believe that they have sources deep inside the Marvel machine.

As for more plot details and how the Creed star’s performance would be incorporated, that’s obviously under lock and key. And with how Marvel typically works, they could still even be tweaking that script. But the way it’s shaping up, the report also suggests he’ll play a small role in the Avengers. Everything right now is pointing at Marvel moving towards the Fantastic Four and maybe even possibly using this as an opportunity to give a backdoor entrance for the X-Men into the larger universe.

Michael B. Jordan certainly cemented himself as one of the heirs of the house the Tom Cruises and Brad Pitts built with his performance in Sinners. It would honestly be cool if he used his star power to cameo and surprise fans, because sometimes even a glimpse of a star is worth the price of ission for some. And while the core Marvel fans will always be loyal to the cause, Thunderbolts is proof that these films also need mainstream appeal for them to make financial sense.

Right now, what Marvel is focusing on isn’t just maintaining the fans they had before, but also building brand-new ones. They need every star they have to achieve that.

Sinners is the movie of the moment. Ryan Coogler’s period vampire action horror has been dazzling critics and audiences around the world since its premiere a week ago. The movie combines pointed social commentary with bloody action, awesome music, and wall-to-wall excellent performances, and it’s become a future awards season darling overnight.

Exceptionally strong word-of-mouth has also seen a minuscule 6% second-week box office dropoff, meaning Sinners’ success should continue to snowball over the coming weeks. Along the way, it’s picked up one very notable fan: Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise, who took to X to praise the cast and crew and underline that it’s a “must see in a cinema”:

Cruise is absolutely right. Despite naysayers predicting the end of the theatrical experience, Sinners is intended to be watched on a huge screen with a thumping sound system, surrounded by other people. Coogler shot Sinners on IMAX 70mm “with optimized symphonic sound design” for those theaters and – as someone lucky enough to see it on IMAX 70mm – I can confirm the hype is real. This was one of the best moviegoing experiences I’ve had in years.

The critical and box office success means Michael B. Jordan is on cloud nine right now, but the cherry on top is Cruise’s praise. Taking to Instagram stories, he reshared Cruise’s post with a mind-blown emoji and a stunned “Nah this is crazy…” comment.

Cruise’s praise is particularly notable as his Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is just weeks away from release and may end up in direct competition with Sinners. Both movies are intended to be seen on IMAX screens, meaning that theoretically they may end up battling for time and space on the format.

But Cruise has clearly concluded that one IMAX movie doing big numbers is good for everyone. After all, Sinners positioning the format as the “true” way to experience the movie has seen sold-out screenings around the world, and many of those attending will be IMAX newbies. There’s a barnstorming The Final Reckoning trailer running before Sinners, so he’ll be hoping those blown away by Coogler’s movie will return in a few weeks for his.

In the meantime, if you still haven’t seen Sinners, you absolutely should. It’d be a great movie however you watch it, though the full-frame 70mm sequences are jaw-dropping on an IMAX screen, and *that* scene (if you’ve seen it you know the one I’m talking about) is one of the most impressive things I’ve seen in a cinema since Mad Max: Fury Road all those years ago.

Jonathan Majors‘ once-promising Hollywood career took a major hit following his highly publicized legal battle. However, one of his biggest ers is standing by him through thick and thin. Despite the fallout from Majors’ conviction for misdemeanor assault and harassment, Creed III director and Majors’ co-star, Michael B. Jordan, is making it clear that he still believes in his former co-star’s talent.

And that’s not all. Jordan is also open to working with him again.

Majors was sentenced to a year of rehabilitative counseling, and a 52-week domestic violence intervention program. Whether or not audiences and studios will take him back remains an open question.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan mentioned in an email that he would love to make Creed IV, among other projects with Majors. In a recent interview with GQ, Jordan confirmed that he would be open to collaborating with Majors again. He even openly showed for his co-actor.

“Tough situation… but he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”

That kind of endorsement from Jordan, one of Hollywood’s most respected actors and directors, could be crucial for Majors, especially as he tries to rebuild his career. Jordan’s words may help shift industry perception, signaling that the former MCU star still has allies in high places. With Creed IV officially confirmed, Jordan has a real opportunity to bring Majors back into the fold. In Creed III, Majors played Damian Anderson, Adonis Creed’s childhood friend-turned-rival, and his performance was widely praised. Bringing him back for a sequel would not only provide Majors with the much-needed comeback but also make sense for the Creed franchise. 

Of course, the decision isn’t entirely up to Jordan. Studio executives will have the final say, and they may or may not hesitate to take a chance on Majors, given his recent legal troubles. In the cover story for GQ‘s March 2025 issue, Jordan confessed that he would work with Majors again, saying: “I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it.”

Readers will recall that the former Marvel star was convicted of assault in the 3rd degree and harassment against his ex-girlfriend, British dancer Grace Jabbari, in Dec. 2023. CCTV footage released to the public during the trial showed the then couple getting physical with each other as Majors shoves Jabbari into a car. The woman then pushes him back and chases after him as Majors runs away.

The case, as tends to happen, unearthed a number of other allegations against the actor, stemming from his time in the Yale School of Drama and beyond. A scathing Rolling Stone piece contained further accusations of domestic abuse from two other former girlfriends, as well as s of aggression on set by staff that had worked with Majors on films like Magazine Dreams.

Majors has consistently maintained his innocence regarding all claims, including the ones he was found guilty of in court. Now, in light of Magazine Dreams‘ much-delayed release, the actor seems determined to change the tide of public opinion, and has apparently enlisted Jordan to lead the charge.

The film, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023, was dropped by distributor Searchlight as a result of Majors’ conviction. It was picked up by Briarcliff Entertainment in October 2024, and will hit screens domestically starting Mar. 21.

In a bid to aid promotion for the film, which has suffered under the bad press surrounding Majors’ fall from grace, Jordan shared a teaser to his Instagram story earlier this month. Some speculated this was the beginning of an attempted public comeback for the disgraced actor, who was once en route to become the face of New Hollywood.

Jordan and Majors grew close on the set of the 2023 boxing film, the first in the Creed series to be directed by the former, in his debut behind the camera. Majors played Damian Anderson, the best-friend-turned-rival to Jordan’s protagonist Adonis Creed. “Michael B and I, we’re best friends at this point … I love that guy and he loves me,” the 35-year-old told Deadline in Jan. 2023.

While Jordan didn’t exactly return the love during Majors’ trial — or at least not publicly — he seems to be making up for it now. He told GQ the ordeal was hard to watch, describing it as a “tough situation.” “But he’s doing great, just got engaged,” he continued, referring to Majors’ engagement to actress and model Meagan Good. He concluded, “I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy.”

If Majors does regain the public’s trust, it wouldn’t be the first time a fellow actor helped an assaulter clean up their image. There’s a long history of it in Hollywood.

Just last year, Sharon Stone and Liam Neeson were among the people attempting to re-launch Kevin Spacey’s career, defending his right to come back to the industry and saying he’s reformed after mountains of sexual abuse accusations. And who can forget the many, many, high-profile figures who, in 2010, signed a petition to get Roman Polanski out of prison following a conviction for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor? And we won’t even address the U.S.-President-shaped elephant in the room.

There are so many movies made nowadays it’s easy to forget what’s happening, even when it’s something as loved as the Rainbow Six franchise. Starting as a book before becoming a hit video game, this Tom Clancy story is finally getting a film, and we now have an update.

In early 2023 it was announced that a Rainbow Six movie is officially in the works to act as a sequel to the 2021 Prime Video movie Without Remorse — another of Tom Clancy’s stories. This sequel is set to be directed by John Wick director Chad Stahelski, and will feature Michael B. Jordan in its leading role. Since its announcement, we’ve had little new information outside of the news on who will be penning the script.

Now as they approach the end of the year, more information is surfacing and during an interview with The Direct, Stahelski shared an update on the movie ensuring fans that it’s still being worked on.

“Rainbow Six. It’s a big property. It comes from a big IP. So it’s, you know, the development to do it right. You’ve seen how both video games and Hollywood are sometimes tricky. It’s always about doing it right and finding the right I, so it gives room for the fans to love what you’re doing. But also you have to give margin to expand out and go. We’re taking our time. A lot of good ideas are being flushed around. It’s been a lot of good development work. We just want to get it right.”

That should be a relief for fans who were concerned about the future of the movie given its uncertain state during the 2023 writer and actor strikes. While it might still be a while away, yes, Rainbow Six is happening, so you will get to see this world brought to life on screen at some point.

Given the history Hollywood has with video game adaptions, it’s probably a great thing that the team is taking their time to get the script right before moving into production. The last thing that fans want is another Borderlands scenario, right?

Of all directors who could be making a film like this, Stahelski might be the most equipped. Recently he has been on quite an impressive run crafting the John Wick movies, which are considered some of the best action films ever made. From what the director has said, Michael B. Jordan might be the perfect choice for the movie’s leading role, too.

“Michael B. Jordan is one of my favorite cast that I’ve had to develop or work with. He’s a fantastic guy, tons of energy. I think he’s got so much potential, not just in the action genre.”

Gladiator II has been a blessing for many reasons – Paul Mescal in a skirt, Pedro Pascal in a skirt, the return of a beloved classic in all its glory… The main one, however, has been seeing and hearing the legend that is Denzel Washington willingly and freely dish out tidbits of precious wisdom every chance he gets.

At the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Monday, the 69-year-old was approached by TikTok content creator Chewkz for acting advice, telling Washington he creates his own work and platform online. The actor was quick with his response: get off your phone and a theater company, any theater company.

You can’t learn to be an actor online. You got to get on the stage. Find a little theater. Anything, even if you’re just the guy holding his spear in the back of the thing — You got to get on stage. That’s where I started. If you want what I got, do what I did.”

Though that might sound dismissive of Chewkz’s work for those who see the potential of social media for the democratization of access to the entertainment industry, don’t get it twisted, Washington was only trying to be encouraging. At the end of the exchange, he turned to the younger man and told him, “I’ll see you at work.” That’s as great of a motivator and confidence boost as you can get from one of the greatest actors of all time.

For the twice-Oscar-winning actor, there’s no greater school than theater because that’s where the actors have the most control, whereas “TV and films are a director’s medium,” he told The Times. That moment on stage is theirs to conduct, there’s no second take or mid-scene notes.

Washington, who got his start at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater, recently stunned The Graham Norton Show viewers by reciting a monologue from Othello, the Shakespeare tragedy he first played at 22 and will reprise, on Broadway, at 70. Paul Mescal, Saoirse Ronan and Eddie Redmayne sat watching him in awe.

Washington may be traditional in his approach to acting, but he’s also one of the biggest champions of young talent in Hollywood. When he worked with a 19-year-old Glen Powell in The Great Debaters, Washington pushed him “out of the nest,” telling him “You should double-down on yourself. Jordan on 2021’s A Journal for Jordan, Washington connected the younger actor to a storyboard artist who would go on to help him make Creed III, his directorial debut. “That’s D, man. He’s willing to do anything to help. He wants to on knowledge and make art a little easier in however he can help,” Jordan told AP Entertainment.

Lately, Washington has been mentoring Gladiator II star Paul Mescal, who got his blockbuster start in the Ridley Scott mega-production but is returning to the stage in 2025 to do A Streetcar Named Desire again. “It’s the right thing to do, and shows he’s a legitimate, serious actor and has got his head screwed on right,” the older man told Variety.

The duo’s entire conversation for British Vogue is worth a watch, but the final moments may or may not have put this jaded entertainment writer on the verge of tears.

I pray for your generation, because we did not have to deal with what you’ve had to deal with. And it’s our fault for putting it in your hands. There were no nine million opinions of every moment of my day and people that like you and then, suddenly, they hate you, and you don’t understand why.”

If only every person of Washington’s generation was as generous to those now inheriting their legacy.

Warner Bros. has been on a rock-solid roll with its trailers lately. After last week gave us our first proper peek at Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17, Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan have emerged this week with Sinners, which just happens to be the duo’s vampire movie we’ve been hearing whispers about for the last little while.

Let’s all say it together: this trailer is absolutely oozing with cinematic hype. The dramatic intensity and morbid mystery of it all speaks for itself, but anchoring it all is the promise that Coogler — the filmmaker who earned the superhero film genre its first-ever Academy Award Best Picture nomination with Black Panther — is about to emerge from the kitchen once again, and when Coogler cooks, we all eat.

So why on Earth did Jonathan Majors, who has absolutely nothing to do with Sinners, start trending on X following the trailer’s release?

Indeed, between false claims that Coogler cast Majors in the film, suggesting that it was supposed to star Majors, and trying to link Jordan’s role in this film with his once-friendship with Majors, the internet is bending over backward trying to make the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star relevant again.

Majors does, of course, have a history with the two creatives. The actor collaborated with the pair on Creed III, which Jordan starred, directed, and produced, and which Coogler produced and was given story credit on. And while a Twitter bot with a lot of time on its hands could maybe spin this into Coogler and Jordan moving on from Majors, it’s such a gross narrative stretch that it hardly bears mentioning.

Would Majors have been a good fit for Sinners? Yes, probably; he’s proven time and time again to be a fantastic actor. In fact, he’d be a good fit for a lot of movies that he was never cast in, but he wasn’t cast in them because he’s currently undergoing a 52-week, in-person domestic violence intervention program as of April earlier this year.

Some will call Majors an idiot for ruining his career and depriving us of potential performances in films like Sinners. Others will say he should have been cast in Sinners regardless of what’s going on with him right now. Others still will continue to demonize him for what we’ve heard about him in the wake of his arrest, trial, and sentencing.

All of those things are a complete and utter waste of time, because the overwhelming majority of such folks spewing such sentiments have absolutely no stake — personal, professional, or otherwise — in the life of Jonathan Majors. In all likelihood, he’s too preoccupied with the intervention program to be “mad as hell” about something with which he wasn’t involved in the first place, but so long as the denizens of X need to fill their days with useless opinions about drama they couldn’t be less involved in, Majors’ name will keep coming up any time there’s an in for it.

Majors may act again, he may not. He may grow as a person, he may not. He may have been forgiven by the people he’s wronged, he may not have been. Bottom line? Majors’ life is his own, and you need to find better things to do than think about it.

In fact, one of those things can be how awesome Coogler’s new movie is going to be; a statement that will be proven true once Sinners releases to theaters on March 7, 2025.

Mahershala Ali fans, Marvel fans, vampire-heads… We’re all desperate to get news about this new Blade movie that is looking more unlikely to get made by the day. Luckily, Black Panther alumni Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan took matters into their own hands and gave us the Blade prequel we didn’t know we needed.

What if we told you Killmonger’s ancestor was a vampire and maybe even Blade’s Maker? And Kate Bishop’s great-grandmother was involved in some way… We’re still ironing out the details, okay? But this is our pitch to make Coogler and Jordan‘s movie Sinners an official part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since we’re beginning to get real pessimistic about the future of Blade.

While we’re sure Coogler and Jordan — who are frequent collaborators and friends and have also worked together in both Creed and Coogler’s first movie Fruitvale Station — are eager to step outside the Marvel world and carve their own path in the industry with an original IP film, we’re afraid the crossover potential with Blade is just too great. And fans are noticing it too.

“So, Disney can’t get a Blade made, but Warner Brothers allowed for Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan to produce their own Vampire film that will “eventually” be owned by Coogler after a few years. This is a level of pettiness that needs to be seen to believe,” one media commentator astutely observed. Is this personal for the DC Comics parent company?

Others have theorized that releasing Blade so close to Sinners would have been a marketing nightmare and could be a reason behind the Marvel film’s strange delay. Delroy Lindo, who was announced as part of Blade‘s cast early on and then ed the Sinners ensemble, exited the former in June, right in the middle of production for the latter.

Sinners was ultimately pitched, sold, filmed, and promoted faster than Marvel could finish the Blade script or find a director. Six writers and two directors have worked on the project so far, though no filmmaker is attached to it at present, and it’s unsure whether the most recent draft — from the mind of loyal Marvel scribe Eric Pearson, who’s worked on nearly every Marvel film of the last decade — will be the screenplay’s final version.

The last we heard of Blade‘s status came from Feige himself, who reassured fans the studio was “so committed to [the movie] that we’re not going to make it until it’s right.” A recent report claimed Marvel would make a final decision about the film by the end of 2024. Keep in mind this film was announced in 2019, and originally given a 2023 release date, but at least Mahershala Ali and Mia Goth are still interested.

Sinners was kept a secret for most of its production, and, for a while, all we knew was that it would be a “period thriller (some have said it takes place in the Jim Crow-era South) involving the undead,” per The Hollywood Reporter. Rumors of vampires were also rampant. Now, Warner Bros. has released its first trailer and it looks really good (albeit cryptic and confusing — as any good trailer should be).

The official synopsis, shared on X by film reporter Erik Davis, says the film will follow twin brothers, both played by Jordan, who will try to “leave their troubled lives behind.” When they return to their hometown to “start again,” however, they discover “an even greater evil waiting to welcome them back.” Hailee Steinfeld, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, and Omar Benson Miller also star, with Jack O’Connell playing the villain.

Warner Bros. was the ultimate winner of a fierce bidding war for Sinners, which will hit theaters in the United States March 7, 2025. Back in May, we picked it as one of our most anticipated original movies releasing next year.

Quentin Tarantino is a man of peculiar tastes, and apparently, anime is among them. While it’s not entirely surprising for a Western director to be an anime fan — most are assumed to have enjoyed some Studio Ghibli films — few have been as vocal about their favorite anime as Tarantino. According to the director, his top anime films include Ghost in the Shell and Blood: The Last Vampire. So much so, that he allegedly commissioned Production I.G to create O-Ren Ishii’s (Cottonmouth’s) backstory scene in Kill Bill: Vol. 1.

If Megan Thee Stallion reigns as the Queen of Anime among celebrities, then Michael B. Jordan assumes the mantle of King. In Creed III, a film directed by Jordan himself, numerous scenes draw heavy inspiration from a lengthy list of anime, as revealed by the actor. Additionally, during a BBC Radio 1 interview, Jordan advocated for watching anime, suggesting a starting lineup comprising One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Bleach, and Hunter x Hunter. Taste.

Controversial and talented might as well be Kanye “Ye” West’s middle name, but what no one could have assumed about the rapper, is that he’s quite the anime fan. Ye has often expressed to draw inspiration for music from several animated films, including Akira — which also happens to be his favorite movie of all time. Similarly, in his docu-series Jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, the designer also recommends someone to watch the 1985 mystery anime film Angel’s Egg, and he’s also mentioned the manga Lupin the Third in the song “Touch the Sky.”

Now, Jamie Lee Curtis hasn’t mentioned anime very often, but she does have one of my favorite anime-related stories of all time. Even before the news of a One Piece live-action adaptation came out, the Everything Everywhere All At Once actress consistently advocated and campaigned to be cast as Kureha. Now that a live-action is officially in full force, and Drum Island is expected to be adapted during season two, we can only hope that Jamie Lee Curtis has her wish fulfilled at long last.

Ariana Grande’s love for anime has always been on display for all of us to see. The “Thank U, Next” singer has several tattoos across her body depicting some of her favorite and most impactful anime. At this point in time, Grande has at least 61 known tattoos, two of which are anime-inspired. One of Grande’s most loved tattoos among fans is that of Spirited Away’s Chihiro on her right arm, and a few years later, on her upper arm, she got a tattoo of Eevee, her favorite Pokémon.

Now, I assume not many of you knew Megan Fox was a huge anime fan; I certainly didn’t. But upon further inspection, I can confidently proclaim Megan as a certified weeb. In an old interview for Seventeen, the actress shared that she started watching anime as a kid on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and eventually evolved into reading graphic novels (we’ve all been there). According to Megan herself, she watched anime like Cowboy Bebop and Inuyasha, fell in love with the art, and to this day, she still adores anime and manga.

The highly acclaimed actor of Dead Poets Society proved time and again his penchant for anime, frequently recommending his favorite titles. As another certified weeb (yes, I just christened him that), Boyega has taken time out of his day, time and time again, to boast about anime as a limitless medium and, of course, about his favorite anime. According to the actor, Attack on Titan, Naruto, The Seven Deadly Sins, Hunter x Hunter, and Bleach are among his favorite titles. Amazing taste, but I recommend One Piece next, Boyega.

We’ve all known how talented Angela Bassett is for years now, but it’s surprising how long it’s taken for the actress to finally be recognised and presented an Oscar. But what was it for? The Academy Awards aren’t for another couple of months yet, so clearly this isn’t your standard, run-of-the-mill trophy.

Bassett was given an honorary Oscar at the Governers Awards Ceremony last night. This is recognition of an actor’s significant contributions to the motion picture arts and to win one is a great achievement — it’s been a long time coming for the Hollywood icon, but we got there in the end.

The Governors Awards have been going for the past 14 years, and aim to shine a spotlight on actors and actresses who might have been overlooked in past ceremonies.

Bassett gave thanks to her family during her acceptance speech. She continued by thanking the board of governors for recognizing her achievement while also managing to remain humble and uplift other Black actresses.

“To my fellow Black actresses, fill your hearts with courage and strength because regardless of what you may think or see or feel your contributions do matter.”

Bassett is only the second Black actress to be awarded an honorary Oscar in the 14 years the ceremony has been running. The first actress to take home the statuette was Cicely Tyson in 2018, which Angela also found time to acknowledge during her speech.

“I have had to let it sink in that I am the second black actress to receive an honorary Oscar, the first being my dear friend and mentor, the late Cicely Tyson in 2018. Having a chance to work with and learn from miss Tyson is one of the most memorable and treasured experiences of my career and life.”

The Boyz n the Hood actress has been nominated for an Oscar twice in the past, the first time was back in 1994, in which she was nominated for the best actress award for the Tina Turner biopic, What’s Love Got to Do with It? The second time was last years Oscars, in which she was nominated for best ing actress in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Unfortunately both times, the actress just missed out on taking the award home.

Last year’s Oscar snub upset many, and there was a great deal of for the actress, who many felt had been robbed. One of the most vocal ers of Bassett was fellow Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan, who posted a sweet collage celebrating the actresses best roles of the past 40 years to Twitter.

Four other Oscars were presented at the ceremony in total, with Mel Brooks and Carol Littleton also receiving honorary awards, and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award being given to Michelle Satter.

As Jonathan Majors‘ future in the Marvel franchise grows increasingly uncertain, given that the actor is being dropped by both his reps and other projects as well as more allegations against him coming out, MCU fans have been busying themselves by imagining who could theoretically replace him as Kang. Countless talented stars have been pitched as perfect candidates for the recast Conqueror, including everyone from Denzel Washington to Damson Idris.

And yet now the tide seems to be turning against this idea as the Marvel hivemind is now under the impression that simply recasting Kang is way too obvious and it might be better if Kevin Feige and company think even bigger. Namely, by ditching the temporal tyrant as the big bad of the Multiverse Saga as a whole and introducing a left-field new antagonist to make the Avengers’ lives a misery. Ironically, the character they’re going for just happens to be played by Majors’ on-screen enemy.

As per an ambitious (some would say absurd) Reddit fan theory, the notion goes that Kang could be shockingly killed off and replaced by none other than Erik Killmonger. All Marvel would need to do is switch the name of Avengers 5 to The Killmonger Dynasty and move on from there. There’s even some precedent for the Black Panther villain proving to be a multiversal threat — a Killmonger variant stole the Infinity Stones from Ultron in the What If…? season one finale.

It would be extremely ironic if Majors ended up replaced as the Multiverse Saga’s big bad by Michael B. Jordan of all people, considering their prior cinematic rivalry in Creed III. Even if this turn of events does seem pretty far-fetched, there are other options for characters who could replace Kang, including the killer of one of his variants, Loki‘s Sylvie. But can Marvel really kick Kang to the curb? Who knows, as the future of the Sacred Timeline is yet to be written.
