Somebody out there nose the shocking truth.]]>
<![CDATA[

These days Nancy Pelosi is the physical embodiment of why the Democratic Party has collapsed into an embarrassing mess. At the age of 84, she’s spent 20 in office and, with Biden now having been embarrassingly shuffled offstage, is a textbook example of the dull establishment corporatism that prevents younger and more radical talent from having a chance to shine. 6m535n

You can draw a straight line from the withered overlords of the Democratic Party refusing to relinquish their grip on power to the crushing second victory of Donald Trump, with all the monstrosities that have followed in its wake.

She’s recently been repeatedly heckled by protesters calling her out on her past for the disastrous and illegal war in Iraq, yelled on video that pro-Palestinian activists should “go back to China“, and sarcastically dismissed calls for urgent environmental reform as “the green dream or whatever they call it“.

But enough about how awful she is, let’s get down to brass tacks. What’s up with that nose?

Who nose? 4p5ac

Yesterday the search “what happened to nancy pelosi nose” began trending. Close examination of recent footage indicates that, if nothing else, we can 100& confirm that Pelosi’s nose is still attached to the rest of her face.

On some further digging, something is definitely up with Pelosi’s nose. She attended Donald Trump’s recent address to Congress on Mar. 5 and news footage appears to show her left nostril emitting a sudden stream of clear slimy mucus, requiring her to quickly wipe it away.

This may or may not be connected to her more recently sporting a band-aid over her nose, which appears to have been repositioned a few times over the last month. Here’s a post from Feb. 12 in which she seems to have a small injury to her right nostril:

And, in a speech on Mar. 19 she was seen wearing a much larger plaster covering almost the entirety of her nose:

It’s perhaps notable that Pelosi has a recent history of injuries. In Dec. 2024 during an official trip to Luxembourg Pelosi tripped and fell down a staircase, fracturing her hip. She was rushed to a Luxemborgian hospital for treatment, cut short her official duties, had a hip replacement, and returned soon afterward. So, she may have suffered a similar accident that left her with a nasal injury.

Whatever’s going on with her nose doesn’t appear to have slowed her down, so I guess all we can do is monitor the situation and hope for the best. If I see, hear, or learn more about the true condition of Nancy Pelosi’s nose, you can rest assured I’ll be on the case.

The plans have been described as "lawless, destructive, dangerous, and cruel."]]>
<![CDATA[

A swathe of politicians have condemned Donald Trump, after his istration announced plans to pause federal loans and grants while reviewing whether government spending aligns with his agenda.

The plans were revealed in a memo sent by Matthew Vaeth, the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget. It directs agencies to halt the disbursement of financial assistance as Trump enacts an ideological review of government spending, and determines whether certain agencies are consistent with “the President’s priorities,” the memo read. The plans also made reference to the sweeping executive orders signed by Trump during his first week in office and the agencies that relate to them, including programs around climate change, transgender rights and diversity, equity and inclusion. Sound familiar?

Naturally, the pause on critical resources distributed to those in need of these agencies has caused uproar, particularly among prominent Democratic politicians. Taking to X, Chuck Schumer described the move by Trump as “lawless, destructive, dangerous, and cruel.” Schumer also urged that “Congress must act” in response to Trump’s plans, and said that they are “nothing less than Project 2025 by another name” — in reference to the political initiate Trump claimed he had nothing to do with.

Echoing these concerns was fierce Trump critic Nancy Pelosi, who also wrote on X that the halt on federal loans was “illegal” and “unconstitutional,” and underlined the impact it will have on citizens. “[It] will raise costs, hurt working families and deny critical resources for Americans in need,” Pelosi wrote. The criticism from Pelosi, who has made no secret of her distaste for the president, didn’t stop there. In a second post on X, the former Speaker of the House said Trump’s memo has “unleashed chaos, confusion and fear for hardworking Americans.”

She listed off those who’ll be impacted by the loan pause, including nonprofit organizations, seniors, teachers and childcare workers, and law enforcement agencies. “Make no mistake,” Pelosi declared, “the Trump istration’s unilateral and illegal scheme hurts American families and puts lives at risk.” In political , that’s a scorching read on par with anything from The Real Housewives, but Pelosi wasn’t the only one to take square aim at Trump. For his part, famous mitten-wearer and Vermont senator Bernie Sanders didn’t mince words when eviscerating Trump’s decision.

Sanders said the loan freeze will have a “devastating impact on the health and wellbeing” of children, seniors, and the “most vulnerable people in our country.” Going a step further, Sanders — who has warned us of oligarchy for decades — said Trump’s plans are “a dangerous move towards authoritarianism.” According to the memo, Trump’s freeze will go into effect on Tuesday, with agencies instructed to review whether their spending is impacted by the executive orders signed by the President last week.

If an agency finds it is not in conflict with Trump’s agenda (ahem, Project 2025), it will not be impacted by the freeze, according to the memo. Of course, this is simply the latest move by Trump that has attracted criticism in the very early days of his second term, with the President enduring backlash around everything from his plans to annex Canada to his review of disaster agency FEMA and his enactment of mass deportations. Just so we’re keeping tabs, Trump has only been president for nine days… so that’s fun.

How do these geriatrics rationalize holding our future hostage? ]]>
<![CDATA[

Anyone paying attention to the Democratic Party knows that Nancy Pelosi somehow runs the show.

The 84-year-old may have ed the official baton of power to Hakeem Jefferies in 2023, but she presides over the party like some sort of matriarchal gargoyle. Her penchant for spearheading political committees and conversations has cemented her as a cornerstone of the party — regardless of whether or not most voters still want her in a leadership position.

Democrats are still reeling from Donald Trump’s reelection, but rather than taking a step back to see how the party could have appealed to more voters, it’s doubling down yet again on old-as-dirt politicians. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, one of the left’s favorite rising stars, has been gunning for the head chair of the House Oversight Committee, but per usual, Pelosi and the establishment refuse to move aside for any kind of progress.

Politics and backstabbing go hand in hand, but this one was pretty low. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC if you ask her fans, has been a rising star in the Democratic party, reeling in youthful voters by promising a reevaluation of capitalism. As the mega wealthy like Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Koch brothers throw millions of dollars at their favorite politicians, Democratic socialists like Ocasio-Cortez are looking to keep the billionaires and millionaires out of policymaking while simultaneously raising the working class up.

Apparently her views on policy rattled Pelosi, who looked for anyone other than the healthy 35-year-old to fill the slot. AOC is incredibly popular with young Americans. Roughly the median age for American adults, she was the first person to break 1 million subscribers on the rising social media app BlueSky and has endeavored to marry party lines with views that Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential bid proved were deeply popular. But why let someone young, popular with voters, and qualified take a position? Surely Pelosi’s pick must be a beacon of progress, right?

I’m sure Gerry Connolly is a very nice man, but he is not what this country needs right now. He’s been in the House of Representatives since 2009, has a proven track record of book balancing, and has reportedly sided with Joe Biden on every vote since the man was elected president. He’s also 74 and just last month announced that he has esophageal cancer. It’s a horrible disease, and patients have less than a 20% chance of living 5 years past diagnosis. Despite the grim prognosis and advanced age, his colleagues feel he is more than capable of taking on the Trump istration. More importantly, they hope he can flip Virginia blue.

But even his ers seem a little wary of the potential appointment. “Gerry’s a young 74, cancer notwithstanding,” said Don Beyer.

It’s no surprise the decision boiled down to seniority, but when those involved are willing to say the silent part out loud, it’s enraging enough to make you tear your hair out. “I think that the seniority issue in this building gets in the way. Our people back home, they don’t care about seniority,” Becca Balint told Axios. Politico spoke with eight Democratic lawmakers on the Hill and reported that there was “a sense that it was Connolly’s turn” after he served on the for 15 years and ran two failed campaigns for the position.

According to much of the Right, Democrats keep getting spanked by Trump because he’s a political outsider. Yet the party doubles down on their good ‘ol boy’s club at every turn, and it seems like every time it does, Pelosi is right there — even if it means working from her hospital. The octogenarian recently fell and broke a hip, and while we have to commend her for grimacing through a photo op after the fall, knowing that she coordinated Connolly’s win from a German hospital bed is depressing.

There is no denying that Pelosi has been a boon to the Democratic process throughout her career. She stood up for AIDS patients when it was career suicide to do so. She worked hard to advance civil rights for the Black community and urged diplomacy before military action after September 11th. There was once a time that perhaps Pelosi did have her finger on the pulse of America, but those years are far behind her.

Americans want change, and at 84 years old, it’s not change Pelosi can provide. Just like Connolly, she needs to retire and spend what time she has left with her friends and family. None of us are promised tomorrow, and with a prognosis like that, Connolly can hardly promise a year. Perhaps that’s the point. Connolly gets to fill the role he “deserves,” and when he hopefully retires after a year, someone like AOC can fill the role. Unfortunately for the rest of us, as long as Democrats operate like this, Trump and his allies will run circles around them every time.

She may now have a reason to wind down this holiday season. ]]>
<![CDATA[

At 84 years old, one would assume that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be staying at home and enjoying hot chocolate this Christmas season. But the reality is, the politician hasn’t been slowing down in her career ever since she got reelected for another term as California’s congresswoman in November.

Now we hear she got into an accident recently, and it’s a mix of positive and negative news for her. On the upside, Pelosi has a valid reason to wind down and take a break from work over the holidays. On the contrary, she had to undergo an emergency hit replacement after injuring herself from a nasty fall on the stairs while attending an official engagement in Luxembourg.

According to NBC News, Pelosi was in Luxembourg for a congressional delegation trip to the 80th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of the Bulge. Details on what potentially led Pelosi to fall while walking the flight of stairs are scarce, but the outlet learned that she has since been doing well.

“Speaker Emerita Pelosi is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals,” spokesperson Ian Krager wrote in a statement sent to reporters on Friday, Dec. 14.

“[She] regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of our service during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history,” Krager added. Pelosi’s spokesperson did not disclose the kind of injury she obtained, but CNN reported the following day that she had a “successful” hip replacement surgery and was already “well on the mend.”

According to Speaker Mike Johnson’s office, Pelosi was supposed to the events on Friday and Saturday with at least 17 other of the House, including Reps. Mike McCaul, R-Texas; Mike Bost, R-Ill.; and Gary Palmer, R-Ala., among others.

Pelosi reportedly hosted a similar trip in 2019 for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge when she was speaker. She is currently one of the oldest of the House, and it appears she’s still not planning to retire anytime soon. After securing a reelection in November, her campaign has filed paperwork for her to remain active until the next election cycle. In the wake of her accident, the U.S. military has reportedly deployed MEDEVAC from Luxembourg to Landstuhl for her. Krager said Pelosi “looks forward to returning home to the U.S. soon.”

Meanwhile, Pelosi isn’t the only politician who sustained injuries this holiday season. Days before her accident, outgoing Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell tripped and fell at the U.S. Capitol. He sprained his wrist and had a “minor cut to the face” as a result, according to a spokesperson for his office. Fortunately, McConnell has since been “cleared to resume his schedule.”

These misfortunes by Pelosi and McConnell serve as a reminder that while Christmastime is the most enjoyable time of the year, it is also one of the most dangerous. According to UCLA Health, injuries and accidents are quite common during the holidays or winter season. The most common of them all are fall-related injuries that reportedly lead to concussions, broken bones, and pulled muscles.

It's been a rough week for aging U.S. politicians. ]]>
<![CDATA[

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized in Luxembourg Friday, where she was traveling with a congressional delegation. Pelosi, 84, tripped and fell down marble stairs at the Grand Ducal Palace, an anonymous source told The New York Times.

Pelosi’s office confirmed the incident, and said Pelosi was hospitalized but provided no further details about her condition, the nature of her injuries, or what may have caused her to fall. Pelosi, a Democrat reelected this year for her 20th term, was in Luxembourg with a congressional delegation to observe the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was itted to the hospital for evaluation,” Pelosi spokesperson Ian Krager said in a statement. “Speaker Emerita Pelosi is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals,” Krager said.

Pelosi, Speaker of the House for 20 years and the first woman ever to hold the role, retired as speaker two years ago when Republicans narrowly regained control in the 2022 midterm elections. The Steering and Policy Committee of the House Democratic Caucus officially named Pelosi “Speaker Emerita” that same year.

Pelosi is the second prominent U.S. politician to fall recently, underscoring the advanced age of many American politicians. Three days earlier, Kentucky Republican Senator Mitch McConnell fell at the Capitol and sustained minor injuries.

McConnell, 82, long plagued with health issues, has fallen before, and has said he will step down as Senate Republican leader in 2025, when the next session convenes. McConnell’s current term ends in 2027, and he is expected to retire from politics, although McConnell has made no official statement.

Age was a major factor in the 2024 presidential election when Biden, 82, dropped out of the race primarily for mental and physical health concerns. Donald Trump, 78, is the oldest president-elect in U.S. history.

As of Friday morning, President-elect Trump, Biden, McConnell, current House Speaker Mike Johnson, or current Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had not commented on Pelosi’s injuries.

Social media quickly made the story a partisan issue, and latched on to the news to highlight America’s growing gerontocracy and to call for term limits.

via Nick Sortor/X

Typical comments included, “The Federal Manor, otherwise known as the US House and Senate definitely needs term limits!” And then the following,

via Rachel/X

The Pew Research Center says 87% of Americans on both sides of the political spectrum congressional term limits. Adding term limits would require a difficult amendment to the U.S. Constitution, requiring a two-thirds vote in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate and a majority vote in 38 state legislatures.

Despite its popularity, Casey Burgat, director of the Legislative Affairs program at the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University, opposes the term-limit idea.

Burgat told NPR, ” … [W]hen you term-limit someone, you are effectively cutting out their incentive to invest in learning how to do the job, to delve into policy issues at the depth that they need to and to really dive into how the procedures work, which just takes years. Because, again, there’s no training ground for this. There’s no training program.”

"Living in a democracy is about recognizing that our point of view won't always win out."]]>
<![CDATA[

The world is still reeling from the United States election results, which saw Donald Trump secure an unprecedented victory over his democratic opponent, Kamala Harris.

We all knew it was possible he would win, but few people expected the country to back a man who’s shown us, time and again, how little he cares about American citizens. This is a man who cares far more about optics, money, and power than he does his own countrymen, and we’re headed into another four years of blistering anxiety with him at the helm.

Two separate elections have positioned Trump against a far more qualified, electable, and capable woman, and two separate elections have seen America’s true colors shine through. Both Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris — seasoned professionals with plenty of flaws but even more strengths — were defeated by Trump, proving that, try as we might, this nation is not ready for a female president. They can say it’s not sexism all they want, but when America is more willing to vote for a felon than a female, the truth couldn’t be more clear.

As Americans and our neighbors abroad reel from the results of the 2024 election, the politicians who worked so hard to get Harris elected are likewise reacting to the stark realization that America is even more divided than we realized. Hugely impactful figures from former President Barack Obama to Senator Bernie Sanders are stepping up to deliver vital lifelines to a country in need, and commiserating with the downtrodden masses scalded by yet another brutal election.

Among the first to comment was Sanders, one of Congress’ most vocal and a deeply respected pillar of U.S. politics. At right around 3pm on Wednesday, Nov. 6 the 83-year-old took to social media to share his thoughts on the election, and in classic Sanders style, he didn’t mince words.

While other politicians are delivering messages of hope in hardship, Sanders is blasting the Democrat party for failing its followers. His statement is a lengthy condemnation of the state of American politics, and a clear dismissal of his own party’s worst qualities. “While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change,” he wrote. “And they’re right.”

Sanders’ statement was followed, just a few hours later, by a sudden influx from major Democratic figures. Barack and Michelle Obama’s messaging was far more optimistic than that of Sanders, and leaned heavily on closing the broadening gap between American citizens. “Progress requires us to extend good faith and grace — even to people with whom we deeply disagree,” the statement reads, in part. “That’s how we’ve come this far, and that’s how we’ll keep building a country that is more fair and more just, more equal and more free.”

The Obamas were ed soon after by current President Joe Biden, who delivered a heartfelt message to his vice president and the team that worked so hard to get her elected. He gushed over the hard work Harris put into her campaign, and promised Americans that “she will continue the fight with purpose, determination, and joy. She will continue to be a champion for all Americans. Above all, she will continue to be a leader our children will look up to for generations to come as she puts her stamp on America’s future.”

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi likewise praised Harris for executing a great campaign, and emphasized that “the peaceful transfer of power is the cornerstone of our democracy. After every election, we all have a responsibility to come together and find common ground,” in a vital reminder that, unlike Trump and his MAGA minions, Democrats will not make any attempts to overthrow the government, no matter how disappointed we are.

Among the most highly-anticipated responses came from Bill and (more importantly) Hillary Clinton, who knows all too well the pain Harris, and her ers, are feeling right now. In a brief message, the Clintons reminded voters that “America is bigger than the results of any one election,” and emphasized that we must come together for the future of the country.

Senator Elizabeth Warren broke the mold with her response, which saw the outspoken politician deliver her comments via video. Across nearly four minutes, the 75-year-old encouraged voters to keep fighting, and emphasized how hard it can be to maintain momentum after such a devastating loss.

New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez soon followed suit, posting her own video several days after the election and leaning into the isolation so many of us are feeling. She encouraged Americans to work on building communities, emphasizing that “building that community is actually far more transformative, and far more important, than you may realize.”

Each and every response from respected politicians underlines the feelings many Americans are still reeling from, but they also serve as a balm on our scalded souls. As we look to an uncertain and frightening future, it’s an inspiring thing to know we have such hardworking, comionate, and capable people on our side.

To Trump Jr's credit, if he didn't have double standards, he wouldn't have any at all.]]>
<![CDATA[

Some children manage to avoid taking on the worst personality traits of their parents. Donald Trump Jr does not fall into that category.

Hypocrisy is effectively a way of life for the Trumps and their fans. This is true of the MAGA obsession with law and order, even though their leader is a convicted felon and has several credible rape charges against him. It also is relevant considering Trump’s bullying, brash behavior, and his ability to play the victim at all times.

Now, Trump Jr. has shown he can be just as hypocritical as the rest of them. The former president’s son recently posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) in which he lamented having to explain to his kids that someone had tried to assassinate their grandfather.

Trump was the subject of an assassination attempt earlier in the year, an attack from which he suffered from a bleeding ear. On Sunday, potential gunman Ryan Routh was found with a rifle in close proximity to where the former Apprentice star was playing golf, at Trump International Golf Course in Florida.

Routh voted for Trump in 2016, and Thomas Matthew Crooks, who attempted the first killing of the former president, was also known to be conservative politically, as evidenced by those who knew him and his social media s.

Yet, lying and calling Routh or Crooks a “radical leftist” isn’t even the worst thing about this Trump Jr. post. As many pointed out in his replies, Trump Jr. was happy to make fun of political assassination attempts when they were against Democrats, namely the attempted killing of Paul Pelosi.

Pelosi was clobbered in the head with a hammer when an intruder broke into the home he shared with his wife, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. The attacker, named as David DePape, allegedly asked “where’s Nancy,” before attacking Paul.

DePape’s social media showed several links to Trump-ing groups, as well as conspiracy-minded areas of the online MAGA ecosytem. Many of these groups believe the Pelosis are central to various crimes.

In the aftermath of the attack, conservative social media baselessly began claiming that the attack on Pelosi was a secret homosexual meet up gone wrong. Soon after, Trump Jr posted a meme featuring a hammer (the weapon that had been used in the attack), as well as the caption “Got my Paul Pelosi Halloween costume ready.”

So, it’s not hard to see why many people are calling out Trump Jr. If only he had the decency to care.

The former House Speaker discussed Vance in a recent interview on CBS Sunday Morning, during which Lesley Stahl asked whether the former president made a “mistake when he chose JD Vance” as his running mate. In lieu of a more political response, Pelosi instead chose to burst out in laughter, sarcastically adding that Trump’s decision to enlist Vance was “a great choice.”

Pelosi’s response — which later included her referring to Vance as “menacing” — seems to give credence to the idea that Vance’s selection as Trump’s running mate is ultimately a win for Democrats, since the Senator’s rollout as a potential VP has been marked by numerous mishaps, to say the least.

Among other setbacks since he ed the ticket last month, Vance has received backlash for resurfaced comments describing Democrats as “childless cat ladies”, endured painfully awkward rally performances, and become the subject of bizarre speculation regarding relations with a couch

Oh, he was also pictured in a resurfaced image wearing a communist shirt, was forced to eat his own words regarding his previous stance on Trump, and is currently suffering disastrous approval ratings. It seems that whirlwind concoction of terrible Vance-related headlines drove Pelosi to laughter, and it prompted similar joyous responses from social media s.

The caption of Pelosi’s laughing clip described her as “a national treasure,” while others said her Vance quip was “legendary” and “iconic.” Elsewhere, s described the exchange as “shade at its highest level,” adding that her laughter means she’s well aware that Vance is “a gift to the Democrats.”

It’s not the first time Pelosi has weighed in on the 2024 presidential race, since the former Speaker’s thoughts on Joe Biden’s fitness to run were reportedly instrumental in him eventually withdrawing from the race last month. Elsewhere, she has thrown her behind presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, and critcized Trump for mocking the attack in her home that left her husband severely injured.

It seems Vance’s lackluster reputation as a would-be VP might only continue to devolve, with Harris expected to announce her own running mate this week. While we can’t predict the future, we’d bet that whoever she chooses, whether it’s Pete Buttigieg or Josh Shapiro, will not have to answer for a lewd rumor involving a couch. But hey, stranger things have happened.

Biden simply couldn't ignore the writing on the wall. ]]>
<![CDATA[

In a move that shocked the American political landscape, 81-year-old Joe Biden has announced his decision not to seek reelection in the 2024 presidential race.

This historic, monumental decision, coming at the eleventh hour on Sunday, July 21, 2024, marks a significant pivot in American politics and has left the Democratic Party scrambling and the general electorate reevaluating the landscape for the next leader of the free world.

Biden’s tenure in office has not been without its highs and lows, but as of late, the scales have tipped decidedly toward the latter. His advanced age has increasingly become a topic of national conversation, not just amongst idle chatter, but as a serious deliberative point concerning his ability to handle the rigors of the presidency. Public appearances have been punctuated by moments of apparent fatigue, and his overall vigor, once a hallmark of his political persona, has visibly waned.

As the pressure cooker of discontent reached a whistling crescendo, calls for Biden to step aside began to grow louder. It seemed like everyone had an opinion on why Biden should hang up his hat and ride off into the sunset of political retirement. Here’s how several prominent figures reacted after Biden dropped out.

Joe Walsh 563e3w

For those who might not keep tabs on political figures who’ve shifted their stances, Joe Walsh is quite the character. Starting as a Tea Party er, he has transformed into a vocal opponent of Trump, criticizing what he sees as a betrayal of conservative values. When Biden announced he wouldn’t run again, Walsh took to Twitter to share his thoughts. It’s not every day you see a former Republican congressman celebrate a decision made by a Democratic president. This kind of bipartisan nod is rare and refreshing and shows that some issues really go beyond red versus blue.

Mark Hamill 2d3q4l

Mark Hamill, best known as Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, tweeted his for Joe Biden, praising his presidency for restoring “honesty, dignity, and integrity” after Trump’s term. Hamill had been publicly ing Biden’s reelection campaign, posting messages like “May The First Not Quench Your Thirst For Biden’s Re-election!” and “May The Third Be Absurd That The Guy Who Tried To Steal A Fair Election Is Allowed To Run Again” in reference to former President Trump.

Pete Buttigieg 112712

Pete Buttigieg is the Secretary of Transportation and a rising star in the Democratic Party. Most recently, Buttigieg defended Biden against concerns about his age and fitness to govern, saying, “The president, the boss that I work for, is a focused and disciplined leader, and you can tell from the results that we’ve gotten.” In his X tweet, by highlighting Biden as one of the “most consequential presidents,” Buttigieg aligns himself not only with Biden’s policies, but also with his approach to governance, which he sees as focused on the nation’s best interests.

Gavin Newsom 4e4351

Known for his progressive stance and dynamic leadership in California, Gavin Newsom‘s endorsement carries significant weight within the Democratic Party. Newsom has repeatedly denied any interest in running for president himself, even if Biden stepped down. He has said he has “subzero interest” in a presidential run and would not challenge Vice President Kamala Harris for the nomination if Biden withdrew.

Barbra Streisand 10q2d

Barbra Streisand, a superstar singer and actress who’s also known for speaking her mind on important issues, also praised President Joe Biden on X. Earlier, she urged Democrats not to “panic” over Biden’s debate performance.

Jon Favreau 6v1z1e

Jon Favreau, not to be confused with the filmmaker, is a former speechwriter for President Barack Obama and a prominent political commentator. Jon applauded President Joe Biden’s leadership while starkly contrasting it with that of former President Donald Trump. Favreau is also a co-host on the popular podcast Pod Save America, where he discusses and dissects current political issues.

Andrew Yang 4q398

Andrew Yang, a former presidential candidate who has continued to influence political discourse through his advocacy for universal basic income and other innovative policies, also used this opportunity to speak on the Democratic Party’s strategy moving forward. In his tweet, Yang applauds President Biden for his leadership qualities, highlighting them as “remarkable.”

Chuck Schumer 165jl

Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader, lauded President Biden for his multifaceted contributions. He started by affirming Biden’s effectiveness both as a president and a leader in legislative matters, suggesting that Biden’s presidency has been marked by significant legislative achievements.

Stacey Abrams 69165f

Stacey Abrams, known for her work in promoting voting rights and her political leadership in Georgia, also ired Biden’s leadership and respect for democracy. In simple , Abrams praised President Biden for his long-standing determination and belief in bringing people together.

Nancy Pelosi 3g5s4d

Nancy Pelosi expressed deep gratitude for Biden’s consistent faith in what America can achieve and his efforts to help people live up to their potential. She concluded by highlighting a spiritual note, suggesting that America is fortunate to have a leader of Biden’s caliber, whom she describes as both great and good. Earlier, Pelosi warned that Biden running again could hurt Democrats’ chances of winning control of the House of Representatives.

In the end, with his health in question, his approval ratings in free fall, and his own party turning against him, the president made the difficult but necessary decision to step aside and allow a new generation of leaders to take the reins.

It seems the former House Speaker wasn't granted as much grace as Trump was in the wake of his shooting.]]>
<![CDATA[

A viral TikTok has cast the commentary around the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in a new light, resurfacing the politician’s previous comments about Nancy Pelosi’s home invasion.

For context, Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, was attacked in 2022 after a far-right conspiracy theorist and Trump er broke into his home and beat him with a hammer, leaving him with a fractured skull.

It was a politically motivated attack reminiscent of the more recent shooting at Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, and while many have denounced the display of political violence in that case, Trump’s old comments about the Pelosi invasion show that she was granted far less grace.

In a video ed on TikTok earlier this week, Anthony Mherson makes a comment on the post-shooting sentiment among Republicans that “political violence is never funny, and it should always be condemned no matter who it’s against.”

@tonymherson.official

Was it funny when Trump did this ? If not , why do we get people laughing ?

♬ original sound – Anthony Mherson

It’s a valid point, and one echoed by Barack Obama in the wake of the assassination attempt, but Mherson goes on to show an old video in which Trump doesn’t uphold the same standard when discussing Pelosi’s home invasion. The video is from the same year as Pelosi’s attack, and shows Trump mocking the former House Speaker.

“How’s her husband, by the way?”, he jokes, in reference to the injuries Paul Pelosi incurred during the home invasion. Trump goes on to say that Pelosi was against building a wall around the US border, “even though she has a wall around her house which obviously didn’t do a very good job.”

Trump’s comments were met with rapturous applause and cheers from the audience, the same group of people who have likely denounced making light of political violence in the wake of Trump’s shooting. “Was it funny when Trump did it?”, Mherson wrote in the accompanying caption.

While the video seems to be aimed at those who ed Trump’s comments but now criticize making light of political violence, it can also be viewed in the reverse. Anyone shocked by the Pelosi comments should maintain that shock, even when it pertains to violence against Trump. Mherson appears to be calling out the hypocrisy on both sides of the political aisle, and s flocked to the comments to share their thoughts.

“Excellent delivery and valid point,” one viewer wrote, with another simply declaring: “That’s just wow.” Elsewhere, s said that Mherson had “nailed it”, but argued that — given Trump’s more divisive politics compared to Pelosi’s — political violence in his case “should not be condemned.”

“Republicans can dish it, but they can’t take it,” one quipped. The video raises interesting points about the state of politics, which is perhaps why it’s been viewed over 150,000 times.

Elon Musk's homophobic conspiracy theory has come back to haunt him.]]>
<![CDATA[

Newly released body-cam footage of Paul Pelosi’s attack has eradicated any doubt about the severity of the incident and has subsequently left those who mocked the ordeal – namely Elon Musk – at the wrath of Twitter’s fiery pitchfork.

The body-cam footage reveals what many already knew to be accurate, and what the San Franciso Police Department corroborated with its initial reports: An assailant named David Wayne DePape, 42, broke into Paul and Nancy Pelosi’s home on the morning of Oct. 28, 2022, entered the couple’s bedroom looking for the former Speaker of the House, and upon learning that she was not present attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer, striking him in the head and fracturing his skull.

The footage shows police officers arriving at the scene after a 911 dispatcher alerted them to the situation. (Pelosi made the call, and the trained dispatcher had the wherewithal to understand something was not right). When then the front door opens, Paul Pelosi is seen trying to calmly wrestle the hammer out of DePape’s grip; his hand is wrapped around the throat of the hammer while DePape’s remains on the handle. After the officers ask what is going on and demand that DePape drop the hammer, the assailant abruptly yanks the weapon out of Pelosi’s hand and strikes him over the head with it. Officers arrested DePape on the spot and Pelosi was said to have woken up in a pool of his own blood.

However, according to Elon Musk, the break-in was the result of some sort of lovers-quarrel with a male prostitute, a baseless accusation steeped in homophobia that the now-Twitter CEO made just three short days after acquiring the platform. Musk shared this misinformation via a debunked article with his over 112 million followers shortly before deleting the post. In response to a post made by Hillary Clinton, Musk wrote, “There is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye.”

With the truth now available in horrifying and vivid color, Twitter is demanding Musk apologize for his reprehensible behavior and issue an immediate apology to Paul Pelosi.

Among those who ed Musk in peddling conspiracy-type theories and making a mockery of Paul Pelosi’s violent attack are right-wing political figures such as Candace Owens, Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump Jr., the latter of whom even suggested wearing a “Paul Pelosi Halloween costume” to that year’s festivities, and posted a picture to social media of a pair of underwear and a hammer.

It’s unlikely Paul Pelosi will get an apology from any of them, but should Musk wish to hold onto any shred of credibility he still has, he would be wise to lead by example.

David DePape allegedly also had Hunter Biden, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Tom Hanks on his hit list. ]]>
<![CDATA[

During a four-hour preliminary hearing on Wednesday, it was revealed that the man charged with attacking Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer had evidently planned other targets, including Hunter Biden, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Tom Hanks.

David DePape is facing six charges, including attempted murder, residential burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and elder abuse for the Oct. 28 incident at the Pelosi’s California home. He had allegedly been planning to kidnap the 82-year-old politician, who happened to be in Washington D.C. at the time. Instead, he encountered her husband, Paul Pelosi, who later told authorities that DePape asked “Where’s Nancy">

The Wednesday hearing was to determine whether there was enough evidence to hold DePape on trial, and he will subsequently be arraigned on the state charges on Dec. 28.
