Say what you will about Olivia Wilde but she’s inarguably a success story. After starting her career as an actress, she further branched out and became a producer and director, all while looking absolutely flawless. While Wilde has always benefitted from her exotic features, the latest makeup she wore made our jaws drop.

Wilde was one of the successful women to attend the Academy Women’s Luncheon, which Chanel hosted in partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts of Sciences. The actress and her amazing team stepped up and completely changed the game.

For her latest look, Olivia Wilde was not only incredibly glam but casual at the same time. Her makeup artist also gave a welcoming twist on the classic winged eyeliner while betting on Wilde’s best angles.

The Don’t Worry Darling filmmaker stepped out in a casual but timeless Chanel ensemble. She opted for a loose Chanel sweater paired with black wool tros and further accessorized with fine jewelry from the drama. Her outfit would’ve been too simple for the outing had it not been for the perfect hair and makeup.

Hairstylist Clayton Hawkins gave Wilde a holiday vibe with an effortless updo held by a beige box at the back of her head, creating a lot of volume, and highlighting the curls that fell to frame her face. The hair alone is a masterpiece that worked wonders for Wilde but it was the makeup that completely made this look a 10 out of 10.

Makeup artist Jo Baker highlighted Wilde’s best features, which are many, but mainly her eyes. She gave a refreshed twist on the regular eyeliner that gave her a glam unlike any other. The makeup expert shared several details on how the makeup came to be, calling the makeup the “Parallelogram Peepers.” She further explained the detailing in several posts, alongside the angles used to create the looks, inspired by trigonometry and different angled products.

The look gave a dramatic twist on the foxy eye makeup using a soft black pencil to extend the edges for a hypnotizing effect. Instead of the classic elongated wing, the edges were blended for a smoky more diffused finish. The same color was smushed along the upper lash up until the middle of the eye for a cohesive look, and also on the lower lash connecting with the wing for a dramatic eye. The rest of the makeup consisted of more neutral tones, including light browns to soften the eyeliner and not crowd the result.

Baker finished the look with Tarantulash Mascara from her brand, Bakeup Beauty, for a long eyelash effect, and Chanel Beauty’s Rouge Coco Flash. A fan asked in the comment section whether it was the shade “Boy,” to which the makeup expert replied, “oooooooooooo you’ve got quite an eye,” confirming the shade.

Fans loved the result and praised her in the comment section. “You are theee most creative makeup artist. The inspiration behind all your looks are just next level.” Another added, “Glamgasmic status beat.” Addressing the inspiration, a fan noted, “Math gives me anxiety but this look does not.”

Working with Olivia Wilde is already easy considering her exotic beauty but this look proved that, with the right team, you’re truly unstoppable.

1. Jennifer’s Body (2009) – Hulu

High school is never easy, especially when your best friend is a literal man-eating beast. Jennifer’s Body was wildly underappreciated at the box office when it premiered, but Diablo Cody’s follow-up to Juno should not be discounted. With equal parts gore and humor, the film is a feminist text about how society views women and the intricacies of female relationships. 

Jennifer (Megan Fox) may seem like a hateful demon, but it is only because society made her that way. Particularly when an indie rock band sacrifices her to Satan for a shot at fame. Or so they think. Turning into a succubus, she starts eating her way through the boys in town. The irony featured in the film is a horror spin on Juno and remains a cult classic.

2. Easy A (2010) – Amazon Prime

Following the success of Superbad, Emma Stone kept going with the high school theme. This time, it was an extremely loose, modernized telling of The Scarlet Letter. Stone stars as Olive, a girl whose little lies amount to a massive reputation. After lying to her best friend that she lost her virginity, she gets a reputation as the school harlot. 

She allows boys to claim they’ve slept with her to boost their egos, and starts pinning an A on all her clothes, like Hester from Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel. A love letter to many high school films of the ‘80s, Easy A constructs a clever narrative with a hilarious take on a classic.

3. Little Miss Sunshine (2006) – Hulu

It is hard to pull off a movie that is quirky as well as sincere, but Little Miss Sunshine fits the bill. A celebrated film at Sundance, the movie stars a young Abigail Breslin as Olive Hoover, an aspiring beauty queen. Though not who you think of as a beauty queen in a traditional sense, her family s her implicitly as they drive from Albuquerque to California for a contest. The ing cast — which includes Toni Collette, Paul Dano, Greg Kinnear, and Alan Arkin in an Oscar-winning turn — is just as important, as they all experience emotional setbacks during the film. Serious as well as comedic, Little Miss Sunshine earned all of its accolades.

4. Booksmart (2019) – Peacock

Before the media firestorm that was Don’t Worry Darling, Olivia Wilde had a much more successful run in her directorial debut, Booksmart. A back-to-school movie from the female perspective, it follows best friends Molly (Beanie Feldstein) and Amy (Kaitlyn Dever), who have sacrificed high school social lives to get into good schools. 

On the last day of school, Molly is flabbergasted to learn that the popular kids also got into good colleges. Realizing that they wasted years of having fun, Molly and Amy decide to have one last hurrah at a high school party. Friendships are tested and laughs are had in a movie that shows nerds can have fun too.

5. The Edge of Seventeen (2016) – Amazon Prime

No, the Hailee Steinfeld vehicle sadly does not have vocals from Stevie Nicks. But it does accurately portray the loneliness of coming of age. Steinfeld plays Nadine, a high schooler dealing with the trauma of growing up.

Still dealing with the death of her father, she feels even more alone when her best friend, Krista (Haley Lu Richardson) starts dating her popular brother (Blake Jenner). With a mother she can’t agree with, and a best friend being phased from her life, the only person she can seemingly connect with is her dry teacher, Mr. Bruner (Woody Harrelson). Many teen comedies can show the awkwardness of growing up, but The Edge of Seventeen does it with a level of truthfulness rarely seen. 

6. Ghost World (2001) – Apple TV

Based on the Dan Clowes-penned comic of the same name, the 2001 cult film is a dark take on growing up. Though humorous, it posits themes of loss of individuality and the pain of moving on. After Enid (Thora Birch) and Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson) graduate high school, they languish aimlessly in their hometown, unsure of what they should do with their lives. As summer progresses, the two grow apart, with their cynicism taking over the trajectory of their lives. Growing up is hard to experience and sometimes even harder to watch. But at least you can laugh while doing git.

7. Moonrise Kingdom (2012) – Apple TV

As with all Wes Anderson films, Moonrise Kingdom has a specific perspective. Set against the backdrop of a fictional New England town, the film takes heavy inspiration from the French New Wave of the ‘60s. Lighthearted and humorous, it follows two adolescents, Suzy (Kara Hayward) and Sam (Jared Gilman), who find love in a hopeless place. They run away together, incurring a panic from the town as authority figures try to track them down. Moonrise Kingdom balances quirkiness with a nostalgic appreciation for young love.

8. Lisa Frankenstein (2024) – Amazon Prime

Allegedly set in the same universe as Jennifer’s Body, Lisa Frankenstein takes a gothic look at young love. Kathryn Newton stars as Lisa, a teenager in the ‘80s who can’t connect with anyone. She spends her time talking to the corpse of a dead Victorian man in a graveyard (Cole Sprouse) until one day, he comes to life. Despite being from different times, the two find common ground and, of course, love. Lisa Frankenstein posits that there really is someone for everyone in a twist on the classic Mary Shelley tale.

9. Clueless (1995) – Hulu

Adapted from the Jane Austen classic, Emma, Clueless takes the story of the oblivious matchmaker and sets her in a 1990’s California high school. Cher (Alicia Silverstone) seems to have it all. Looks, wealth, and no worries. After a new student, Tai (Brittany Murphy), transfers schools, Cher takes it upon herself to remake her in her own image. 

While these intentions come from a good place, everything Cher does ultimately backfires. She realizes she doesn’t understand anything, let alone her own heart. Despite Cher’s cluelessness, the film views the protagonist with love and appreciation as she finally realizes that love is in front of her the entire time.

10. Ladybird (2017) – Tubi

Mother-daughter relationships are often fraught, and this is explored deeply in Greta Gerwig’s personal film, Ladybird. As with many teenage girls, Ladybird (Saoirse Ronan) is in transition. Though her given name is Christine, she has insisted on going by her self-proclaimed nickname as she traverses her final year of high school. Though her coming of age is painful, it is also humorous, and she ultimately accepts herself as she is and not who she is pretending to be.

11. Adventureland (2009) – Amazon Prime

A period comedy set in the late ‘80s, Adventureland features the difficult period after college. When James (Jesse Eisenberg) realizes he doesn’t have enough money to travel abroad, he takes a job at an amusement park. There, he forms memories but also falls for a fellow employee, Em (Kristen Stewart). 

The chemistry between the two actors makes for a comedy for the ages, but it also shows the realism of relationships. Both make mistakes and come to with their shortcomings. With Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, and Ryan Reynolds in ing roles, this offbeat dramedy is highly underrated. 

12. Saved! (2004) – Amazon Prime

Teen pregnancy is complicated enough, but throw in organized religion, and it’s a whole different set of circumstances. Mary (Jena Malone) believes herself to be a good Christian girl, but that changes when her boyfriend, Dean (Chad Faust), comes out to her. 

In an effort to save him, they have sex, which results in a teen pregnancy. Dean gets sent away to a Christian reform school, leaving Mary alone to deal with the ramifications. The further she gets along in her pregnancy, the more she sees the hypocrisy of her religious high school. Saved! sets the typical trope of teen pregnancy in an uncommon setting to show that love and acceptance comes out of the most unexpected places. 

13. Whip It (2009) – Hulu

In Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut, Whip It celebrates individuality in a world of conformity. Bliss Cavendar (Elliot Page) lives in small-town Texas, enduring her mother’s love of beauty pageants. Only when she discovers the world of roller derby, does she find out who she truly is. Page excels in the material that shows humor as well as the merits of finding your — well — bliss.

14. Young Adult (2011) – Amazon Prime

Sometimes coming-of-age stories don’t always happen in our formative years. Sometimes achieving maturity takes a while, like in the case of the 2011 film, Young Adult. The dark comedy stars Charlize Theron as Mavis Gray, a recent divorcee who returns to her hometown to strike up a relationship with an old flame. 

The only problem is that her high school ex is now married with a baby. Mavis takes no part in the logic of those around her, such as Matt (Patton Oswalt), who urges her to seek therapy. Throughout her experiences, Mavis learns to become a better person — whether she wants to or not.

15. Sugar & Spice (2001) – Apple TV

In many teen films, pregnancy is a consequence often followed by lessons to be learned. In Sugar & Spice, however, it is just the inciting incident. After a whirlwind romance, Jack (James Marsden) and Diane (Marley Shelton) get pregnant and quickly learn the realities of the world. 

The relationship between the two remains strong, but they still need to get ahead. And what can two high school students with no real-world experience do to get ahead? By robbing a bank, of course. Diane enlists the help of her cheerleading squad to be able to provide for her family. There is no moral lesson to be learned in this film. Just hilarious, campy fun.

16. Empire Records (1995) – Hulu

Oh, the days when music was sold in record shops, and you could spend all day jamming with your friends. Empire Records is a relic of a different time, but always worth a rewatch. Taking place in the day of the life of working at the record store in question, five friends experience the trials of growing up while their boss tries to keep the store afloat. Accompanied by the classic music of the era, the film is a time capsule about love, loss, and the best times of your life.

Discussions surrounding the sexuality of pop star Harry Styles have been going on for quite some time now. Naturally, people are curious about the singer’s orientation, but has Harry himself had anything to say about the matter?

Styles has had numerous public relationships that we know of, including Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, Olivia Wilde and, most recently, Taylor Russell. Being one of the most popular musicians in the industry right now means that his every move is being scrutinized and analyzed with intense detail, so as you can imagine, it’s difficult to keep his personal life out of the spotlight.

Has Harry Styles spoken about his sexuality?

The “As It Was” singer has avoided putting a label on himself but despite this people are still eager to know one way or another. Back in August Styles came under fire from actor Billy Porter who criticized Styles’ fashion choices claiming that it was “queerbaiting.”

For some time now Styles has been subverting gender norms, often seen wearing feminine clothing. Once again, it’s important to stress, that Styles has never confirmed nor denied his sexuality. Porter’s criticisms seem to suggest that the singer is aiming to be perceived as gay despite being straight as he’s only been seen in public with women, Harry addressed the criticisms in an interview with Rolling Stone.

“Sometimes people say, ‘You’ve only publicly been with women,’ and I don’t think I’ve publicly been with anyone, […] If someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or something.” 

In other words, maybe people should stop prying. Besides, even if he was straight, it’s still a stretch to call what he’s doing queerbaiting, it is possible for someone’s sense of style and their sexuality to exist independently.

We can of course spend hours going around in circles examining the evidence we have, but at the end of the day, the My Policeman actor’s sexuality is his business and his alone. He has thus far refused to label himself and perhaps there’s a reason for that.

I know what you’re thinking: but wait, what about Harry Styles?

Okay, you’re probably not thinking that. If you’ve followed Olivia Wilde’s personal life as closely as I have, then you know she and Styles called it quits shortly after the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling around Nov. 2022, but that doesn’t make their breakup any less tragic. I’m all for couples working through their issues but she and Styles simply looked divine together. Plus, after the embarrassment Wilde went through being served custody paperwork by now ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis in front of millions of people… yeah, that happily ever after ship was never going to set sail again. 

Or maybe it will, who knows — In early September Wilde and Sudeikis were reportedly seen putting their differences behind them to attend their son Otis’ soccer game in Los Angeles, so kudos to them. Still, the likelihood that they will rekindle any kind of romance is slim, especially now that Wilde has been seen hugging a new man in public.

Is Oliva Wilde dating Nick Thune now?

Sure, we might be overreacting at the sight of Wilde huggling actor, comedian, and musician Nick Thune, but can you blame us? The two launched into a tight embrace outside the Greek Theater in L.A., according to Extra, and I don’t know about you but I don’t hug friends like that. 

All right, maybe sometimes. Perhaps a hug is a hug, but let’s not forget a hug is just two seconds away from holding hands, and we all know how that turned out for WildeStyles. 

Thune was previously linked to actress Lake Bell in 2021, but his current relationship status is not as clear as Wilde’s. Of course, now that he and the Don’t Worry Darling director have been linked, that’ll soon change one way or another. 

For the time being, we err on the side of caution, assuming both Wilde and Thune are still single. But that hug looked mighty comfortable, so be on the lookout for updates in case more comes of this.

Then, almost as quickly as everything started, it all came to an end. Don’t Worry Darling was released to average reviews, Chris Pine dashed the internet’s dreams by denying Styles spit on him, and Styles and Wilde fizzled out in Nov. 2022 after about two years together. In the aftermath of the relationship, Styles has been linked with other people, but recent beach photos of the “Watermelon Sugar” star have brought last year’s romance back to our attention.

On July 28, Styles was photographed vacationing on a boat in Italy with James Corden and his wife Julia Carey, Victoria’s Secret model Jacquelyn Jablonski, and her reported partner, businessman Xander Ritz. Like most people vacationing in a hot location, Styles had a decent amount of skin on display, giving the photographers a good look at his many tattoos. The singer has some beautiful ink, but one particular tattoo caught everyone’s attention: a tattoo on his right thigh that appears to read “Olivia” in cursive script.

As you’d expect, people immediately connected the tattoo to Styles’ relationship with Wilde. It definitely seems that the “As It Was” singer commemorated his relationship with a tattoo of his lover’s name, but some fans believe there’s a different reason Styles got this specific tattoo; while most believe the ink is a tribute to Wilde, there’s some speculation that it’s referencing the 2015 One Direction song “Olivia” instead. Whatever the meaning may be, I’m more curious about the meaning of the “colazione” tattoo (“breakfast” in Italian) underneath the aforementioned “Olivia,” and whether the two are connected. Harry, what does it all mean?

While there’s an inherently snoopy part of just about everyone around the world when it comes to sneaking a peek into the lives of our favorite celebrities, there are some lines that just shouldn’t be crossed when it comes to preserving their right to privacy.

So say Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde, who have issued a statement condemning their former nanny Ericka Genaro, who very publicly brought a lawsuit against the former couple back in February, after she herself leaked a whole lot of rumors about the couple’s personal life, including the nature of their split. 

Now, Wilde and Sudeikis have fired back at the nanny that has been making their life miserable, saying that Genaro should never have filed her suit publicly in a California court. Rather, they claim it should have been handled via a private arbitrator in New York, which is what they are now trying to make happen, according to TMZ. The couple told the outlet: 

“It is unfortunate that this private matter continues to play out in the press. Our focus has been and will continue to be to steadfastly protect our family in the face of harassment of any kind. We are confident that the evidence brought forward will affirm our position to summarily dismiss this case and bring our family peace.”

A lot of messy details came to light from Genaro, who claims that matters were so dire between the couple towards the end of their relationship that Sudeikis laid down under Wilde’s car to prevent her from going to see Harry Styles. 

Undoubtedly a chapter that Jason Sudeikis would rather put behind him. He would likely prefer that his fans turn their attention to Ted Lasso, which is currently in the middle of its third season over on Apple TV Plus. Wilde, meanwhile, is reportedly still attached to direct a secret Marvel project, as of December last year. 

With Florence Pugh repeatedly refusing to address the Don’t Worry Darling drama, one might think it’s all water under the bridge for the MCU alum, but her latest Vanity Fair profile might tell a different story for those still keen on analyzing every facet of this story to death.

The 2022 erotic thriller starring Pugh and Harry Styles was the subject of massive controversy when it premiered in September, turning an otherwise forgettable flick into the bread and butter of media coverage. This was all due to an alleged quarrel between Pugh and director Olivia Wilde, with rumors suggesting the two even got into a screaming match on set.

Now, Pugh is celebrating one of her busiest years as an actress in a profile for Vanity Fair magazine and has appeared on their 2023 Hollywood cover. When asked about Don’t Worry Darling and what it was like for people to pick over her every word, Pugh immediately rebuffed the question and brought the conversation back to more amenable territory.

“Ideally I don’t really want to be going down the Don’t Worry Darling conversation because this whole release for The Wonder has been so positive and I’ve been really excited to talk about that. I don’t really feel the need to go into the nitty-gritty details of Don’t Worry Darling. So if it’s okay, I’ll probably just let that one sit.”

Whether it’s an agreement with Warner Bros. to not discuss the situation or Pugh just wishing to avoid more drama, it’s clear the actress doesn’t want to think about Don’t Worry Darling again. And why would she? Pugh is riding her stardom to more acclaim and fame day by day.

The Wonder is only one of the movies the Black Widow star has recently worked on, and it’ll only be a matter of time before she returns to the big screens in two major flicks, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Not too shabby, eh?

Olivia Wilde has spent most of 2022 embroiled in controversy around her movie Don’t Worry Darling, which generated an inordinate amount of controversy relating to departed star Shia LaBeouf, supposed rifts between star Florence Pugh and Wilde, and a whole bunch of salacious gossip about unprofessional behavior on set.

But, Wilde is now looking forward to a hopefully less tabloid-friendly stint in the Marvel universe. She’s lined up to direct a Marvel feature for Sony, presumably taking place in the spinoff universe centered around Spider-Man characters. We haven’t heard much about this for a while, but THR has noted that she’s “still attached to direct a Marvel feature for Sony.”

Wilde has been cagey about what characters she’d be working with, though in an interview with Variety a while back, she said she liked the Marvel approach of giving new filmmakers a chance to direct a big-budget blockbuster:

“I will say that I think the Marvel approach of allowing newer filmmakers to come into the fold and have access to those tools of the Marvel universe is incredibly exciting. I am a big fan of what they’re doing over there… but, yeah, I can’t confirm whether that is what that is.”

The rumor mill says that Wilde’s project may be feature on Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman. Sony are already hard at work on Madame Web, which will feature multiple Spider-Women, although Drew (arguably the most famous hero to bear that name) isn’t expected to be making an appearance.

If Wilde is working on Spider-Woman, we’d expect it to be influenced by the events of Madame Web, which is likely to touch on the mystic Spider-Totem storylines from the comics that explain why so many Marvel heroes end up clinging to walls and swinging from webs.

Let’s hope we get some firmer details soon. In the meantime, Madame Web is currently in production and scheduled for release on Feb 16, 2024.

Don’t Worry Darling promised audiences an adventure into a dark underbelly beneath an apparent paradise, but instead ended up (ironically) playing host to behind-the-scenes drama of a dark underbelly in Hollywood relationships. Now, the drama-laden film is set for a streaming debut, so get your salads ready.

Florence Pugh and Harry Styles’ Stepford Wives redux is set to release on the year’s most controversial streaming service HBO Max, proving some couples are perfect for each other. Don’t Worry Darling will see new life from Nov. 7 on the Warner Bros. app, with a whole new audience now set to discover all the drama for themselves.

For the uninitiated, Don’t Worry Darling has become better known thanks to director Wilde’s very public tiff with star Pugh, as well as Wilde’s alleged affair with Styles. Drama so intense even Wilde and Pugh’s stylists got involved in the beef, as more information came out revealing a specially made salad delivered to Styles allegedly led to Wilde’s divorce from Jason Sudeikis.

Add on top the film’s now-infamous Venice Film Festival debut which saw rumors rise of Styles spitting on co-star Chris Pine and immensely awkward photo calls, and you’ve got a movie which is destined to lead to a fascinating book around its production. Perhaps most disappointing is the film in the end wasn’t anywhere near as entertaining as the spectacle behind the scenes.

Don’t Worry Darling ended up receiving fairly middle-of-the-road reviews, with a critic score of 38 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and middling audience scores. Not every doomed production can be as entertaining or as good as Apocalypse Now.

The ongoing love triangle between Olivia Wilde, Jason Sudeikis, and Harry Styles has added a new layer thanks to Wilde revealing what the salad recipe was. If none of these words make sense to you, you’re not alone, but you’ve come to the right place.

The Elder Scrolls-esque lore surrounding the trio has bordered on parody, with Sudeikis allegedly taking issue with Wilde preparing a special salad dressing with current partner Harry Styles, whom she’s believed to have had an affair with. Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde are vehemently denying recent rumors about the nature of their split, which reportedly involved Sudeikis lying under Wilde’s car to stop her from going to see Harry Styles.

While details around the timing and whether or not there was any overlap between the split and Wilde dating Styles were sparse, the couple has since insisted that the relationship ended long before Styles was in the picture – and that the rumors being spread were nothing more than the words of a vindictive nanny. 

The couple issued a t statement to PEOPLE in an attempt to finally put all of these wild rumors to bed.

“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations publicly,” the former couple said. “Her now 18 month long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”

The nanny gave The Daily Mail a detailed of the events surrounding the Sudeikis and Wilde breakup, which in her view was quite ugly – and it revolved around a rift created while Wilde was filming Don’t Worry Darling.

Sudeikis allegedly discovered flirty texts being exchanged between his ex-fiance and Styles on her Apple Watch, and the Ted Lasso actor spent a lot of time crying. 

You’d hope that a film riddled with so much background controversy at least wouldn’t suck, but the movie sits at a 38% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to a report citing an anonymous nanny who allegedly used to work for Sudeikis and Wilde, the “special dressing” in question was part of a leafy-green dish Wilde had prepared for Styles in the family home she was still sharing with Sudeikis at the time, according to the Daily Mail.

The report went on to say that, according to the nanny, Wilde preparing the salad for Styles in the home allegedly “infuriated” Sudeikis. The nanny claimed Sudeikis then tried to chase after Wilde, filmed her, and then tried to prevent her from leaving to meet up with Styles by lying under the car while she was behind the wheel and trying to leave.

The entire alleged series of events the nanny divulged to the publication frankly makes neither party look too good, as the former employee of the ex-couple claimed Wilde’s relationship with Styles began while she was essentially still with Sudeikis and that the Ted Lasso star allegedly took to drinking heavily after this all went down.

The question lingering in many cynical Twitter s’ minds following this news was: What was in that special dressing, anyway?
