There’s a legal battle bubbling in the very center of the reality TV kingdom. Leah McSweeney is suing the big boss of the Real Housewives franchise — Andy Cohen himself.

The former cast member McSweeney is alleging some very serious accusations. Page Six reports that in 2024, McSweeney filed explosive claims in a suit alleging Cohen snorted cocaine with other cast — and that producers of the show even encouraged her to break her sobriety. But now, she’s come back with even more explosive claims.

The former cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City claims that Cohen took the alleged Justin Baldoni route and fired off a media blitz that was a coordinated attack against her. According to McSweeney, Cohen “requested or induced” current and former cast to publicly attack McSweeney’s character — and ensure her reputation as a liar is fully entrenched in the zeitgeist.

The filing claims that the cast were willing to take part in this supposed charade in order to advance their own careers. The filing gives specific examples, like Lisa Vanderpump appearing on The Talk and declaring she’s on Cohen’s side. The granular example was bringing forward the platform argument — which suggests McSweeney should just be grateful that she was given the opportunity to appear on screens all over America. And that all that was thanks to Andy Cohen.

There were other examples where some former cast claimed that McSweeney was simply trying to assassinate Cohen’s character. Taken by themselves, this honestly just sounds like typical Real Housewives drama. Honestly, even when they’re not on the clock — the drama still follows them. However, the filing does acknowledge this and says that all this bad-mouthing is a result of the aforementioned “requesting” or “inducing.”

The filing is meant to bolster McSweeney’s original lawsuit by framing all this media blitz as retaliation. So the new filing is not merely to add more complaints, but rather to accentuate the allegations of Cohen trying to punish McSweeney in some way. It’s worth mentioning that Bravo did stand up for Cohen and previously attempt to get the original motion dismissed. The motion was allowed to proceed after a ruling in January, and according to the new filings, that’s when the “retaliation” began.

McSweeney’s counsel wants to not only prove the retaliation claims but also double down on the claims of cocaine use. The filing states that two unnamed castmates told McSweeney that Cohen does actually use cocaine. NeNe Leakes has also called Cohen a “coke-head,” and the counsel is bringing that up to create historical precedent.

Bravo and Andy Cohen have not given any public comments about this new filing. This new filing is trying to the dots and give the court and perhaps the public too a glimpse at the inner workings of reality TV as it exists today. If true, these allegations seem to suggest that the producers of these shows push their cast beyond their limit and if they don’t follow orders, they will be dumped. And worse off, if they complain — to quote Baldoni’s PR — “they will be buried.”

Karen Huger of The Real Housewives of Potomac has been sentenced to two years in jail following her DUI conviction and guys, we need Andy Cohen and a camera. 

The Bravo star, who fancies herself as the Grande Dame of Potomac, had one of those years suspended, meaning she will only actually serve one year. The reality star now has 30 days to appeal the judge’s decision, and 90 days to ask for reconsideration. It comes after Huger was found guilty on five out of six charges, stemming from an incident in her Maryland hometown in March of last year.

The charges include negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of an address change. She was, however, acquitted of the charge of reckless driving. Police body cam footage of the car crash incident went viral on social media late last year, and showed Huger visibly intoxicated at the scene of the crash alongside her husband, Raymond A. Huger. 

The Housewives star skipped filming of the season nine reunion currently airing on Bravo as a result of the charges, having entered a rehab facility before her sentencing. “Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today. She was fully ed in this choice,” Huger’s manager Ryan Tresdale said. “We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”

Huger’s DUI and legal battle became a focal point of drama on the ninth season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. While her castmates — including Giselle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Mia Thornton, and Wendy Osefo — continually pressed her for answers and explanations, Huger was limited in her responses as the case was still ongoing. In lieu of appearing for the reunion, Huger sent a video message to her castmates in which she thanked those who ed her. Fans of the show will know Thronton was not included in that thank you.

Huger isn’t the only member of the Housewives universe to run into trouble with the law. In 2021, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah was arrested as part of an investigation into a nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme. She was sentenced to 78 months in prison — the same prison coincidentally occupied by fellow fraudster, Theranos blood-testing “entrepreneur,” Elizabeth Holmes. For her part, Teresa Giudice of The Real Housewives of New Jersey served 11 months in prison on charges of mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud.

Even on the DUI front, Huger is not alone in the Bravo-verse. Last year, The Real Housewives of Orange County’s Shannon Beador was slapped with the drinking charge, ing a list that also includes Luann DeLesseps of The Real Housewives of New York, Kim Richards of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Ariana Zolciak. It begs the age-old question of what came first, the Housewife or the DUI?

In a sentence that contains so many buzzwords I’m afraid it might sting me, Ariana Grande is reportedly in talks to star in A24’s Real Housewives-inspired film alongside Jennifer Lawrence. 

Okay, that’s a lot to get your head around, so let me offer some clarity. We’ve known for some time that Lawrence is producing and leading the cast of The Wives, an murder mystery thriller that is said to be in the vein of The Real Housewives. Details beyond the production companies, A24 and Apple Studios, and the screenwriters, Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley, have remained scarce since that initial announcement, at least until now.

According to some sources, Grande has been approached to the cast of The Wives, in what would mark her second acting collaboration with Lawrence following 2021’s Don’t Look Up. Grande’s rumored involvement in the film, which will surely send Bravoholics into overdrive, comes courtesy of her recent profile in The Hollywood Reporter. It mentioned multiple roles being offered to the singer/actress, including one that is a “female detective romp set in a Housewives-style reality show.”

While that role was never officially confirmed to be The Wives, one plus one seems to equal two, and Grande plus Lawrence undeniably equals ICONIC. If this movie doesn’t involve all the wine-throwing and table-flipping that become Real Housewives canon, I will give up on the idea of Hollywood forever. Of course, we may be getting ahead of ourselves, since the film is as shrouded in secrecy as the actions of an adulterous Housewife. 

What we do know, however, is that Lawrence, a noted Bravo superfan, is best poised to lead The Wives. She has spoken regularly on red carpets about her thoughts on various iterations of the sprawling reality TV franchise, and even met bonafide Housewives legends Bethenny Frankel and Luann de Lesseps. In an entertainment landscape where reality TV is (wrongfully) relegated to low-brow status, having an Oscar-winner lead an A24-produced movie inspired by Real Housewives might just be the push needed for our beloved Housewives to win the Emmys, Oscars, and Nobel Peace Prizes they so thoroughly deserve. 

We don’t yet know whether Grande is a Real Housewives fan, but she has in the past shared her love of its reality TV sorority sister, Love Is Blind. In any case, it’s thought The Wives is just one of the film roles that Grande has been offered in the wake of Wicked, which marked her first major film acting role and earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best ing Actress last month.

It was also revealed that Grande was offered a role in the Spaceballs sequel alongside Josh Gad, but she refused to confirm or deny to The Hollywood Reporter whether that casting rumor was correct. A “disaster wedding comedy” was also mentioned in the profile, but more details around that project remain unknown. 

Adding to the list of Grande’s potential movies is the Jennifer Aniston-produced 9 to 5 reboot, which is also reportedly circling Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney, as well as an Audrey Hepburn biopic. That last one was more of a fan-cast in response to Grande’s Hepburn-referencing red carpet looks, but scream loud enough and maybe the Hollywood execs will take notice. On that note, I scream into the ether; PLEASE CAST GRANDE IN THE WIVES. 

Real Housewives alum Brandi Glanville is not currently living her best life. The last couple of years have been plagued with sexual abuse allegations and a facial deformity that is stumping doctors.

Glanville was born on November 16, 1972 in Salinas, California but spent her formative years in  Sacramento. She moved to Paris, at age 16 to pursue modeling g with Elite Model Management. Her success took her to runways and photoshoots all over the world including Munich and Tokyo.

Eventually Glanville moved back to the United States. In the early 90s she met a handsome actor at a nightclub and fell in love. ​​Eddie Cibrian proposed to Glanville with a three-carat diamond engagement band to ring in the new year, 2000. The couple got married in 2001 at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, California. The former New Yorkers now called Los Angeles home.

In 2003, their son Mason was born. Four years later, son Jake made them a family of four. From the outside, everyone appeared to be happy but a bombshell revelation in 2009 would forever change Glanville’s world. Cibrian had been unfaithful with multiple women including country singer LeAnn Rimes. Cibrian and Glanville filed for divorce that same year. The proceedings were contentious because of the affairs but where one door closes another opens.

Glanville began appearing as a guest star on season two of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2011. The following season she became a series regular. She was let go after season 5. One unanimous source told People it was because she was too much to handle.

“Brandi got too big for her britches. She was a diva, and it came around to bite her,” they claimed. “By the end, she couldn’t get along with anyone, and no one wanted to shoot with her.” She still appeared on two seasons of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip but the drama followed her there. In 2023, after season 5 wrapped, both Glanville and co-star Caroline Manzo were fired from the show after Glanville allegedly gave Manzo unwanted kisses. In January of 2024 Manzo filed a lawsuit against Bravo for encouraging this behavior further revealing that Glanville allegedly groped her breasts and genitals as well.

Around the same time as the sexual assault allegations in 2023, Glanville began experiencing facial swelling. At first doctors thought it was caused by stress-induced angioedema but the condition has lasted more than a year. Glanville opened up about the ongoing situation on the December 29 episode of her podcast, “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered.” She revealed she has not had sex in over a year because of it.

“I have four different opinions from these four different great doctors of what it could possibly be,” she stated. “So if they’re perplexed, I’m perplexed, and there is no answer right now, you know? That’s it. My face is f—– but it is what it is. I had 50 good years.” Despite her dark humor, Glanville wants to get to the bottom of this situation. “I want to run tests, and I wanna get another MRI and another CAT scan and do all the things. I wanna get to the bottom of this. I just don’t wanna guess at what it is,” she explained.

She is happy with her decision to go public with her struggles because it has helped her mental health. “I was hiding and isolating in f—— misery, not wanting to share what was going on with anyone and not wanting to see anyone,” she recalled. While she still might not have the answers, at least she doesn’t feel so alone.

Lisa Rinna celebrated the new year in her birthday suit. The former Days of Our Lives star posted a nude selfie on Instagram on New Years Eve 2024. Evidently, she wanted to bare it all ahead of 2025!

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s spicy photo utilized a mirror. The 61-year-old edited the pic to cover her — ahem — “swimsuit area”; two strategic stars were placed on her upper body, while a glittering 2025 covered the lower half. The photo was shared to her stories, so it has since disappeared.

This isn’t the first time Rinna has let it all hang out. She posted a similar snap last year. This one made the grid.

In January of 2024 she posed for Cosmopolitan’s “Sex After 60” feature. For the cover, she only wore a sheer, sparkling catsuit. In another photo for the story, she went topless with only a black, high waisted panty. She changed again for another snap and donned a nude bustier.

Rinna isn’t afraid to live boldly while aging. She feels more sure of herself in her 60s than she did in her youth.

“I’ve gotten to that place where at 60, I am so much more confident than I was at 30,” she explained to Cosmopolitan. “I love this age because I’m freer and more confident and more ionate than I’ve ever been.” She no longer feels held back by the expectations of others.

“Everything that I’ve gone through has brought me to this point where I do not f***ing care what anybody thinks about me,” she went on to say. “I don’t need your approval. I don’t need you to tell me whether I’m good, bad, ugly, cute, whatever. I’m going to do whatever I feel to make me happy.”

Rinna is anything but camera shy. She started her career as an actor and model. In 1992, she created the role of Billie Reed on Days of Our Lives. Four years later she appeared as Taylor McBride on Melrose Place.

She ed the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2014, and was a fan favorite until her departure in 2023. Her tenure on the show wasn’t without drama. Her beef with co-star Kathy Hilton caused fans to boo her at BravoCon 2022. In 2015, Rinna threw wine at co-star Kim Richards for bringing up Rinna’s husband, Harry Hamlin.

Beyond her career, Rinna is a mother of two daughters whom she shares with Hamlin. Delilah Belle was born on June 10, 1998 and sister Amelia Gray made her world debut on June 13, 2001. She is also a bonus mom to Hamlin’s son, Dimitri Alexander, from a previous relationship.

Rinna was close to her own mother, Lois, who also appeared on Housewives. Rinna blames some of her bad behavior on the series on the grief she felt when Lois died from a stroke in 2021.

“I have had a really rough time of it I think you’ve seen how hard this has hit me,” she explained on Instagram. “I’m sorry if I’ve raged on you, about you — it really has nothing to do with any of you.”

It appears as if after a couple of difficult years, Rinna is shedding all that doesn’t serve her. Perhaps her naked selfies are the physical manifestation of this.

The Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger, age 61, may soon be turning in her designer clothing for an orange jumpsuit. On Wednesday, December 18 she was convicted on five charges relating to a March 19 car accident in Potomac, Maryland.

Huger was found guilty of DUI, negligent driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision, and failure to notify authorities of an address change but cleared of reckless driving charges. This is her second DUI conviction. She could face up to two years in jail when sentenced on January 29. She expressed her dismay with the verdict through her lawyer A. Scott Bolden.

“Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,” he stated to People. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”

Back in March the Montgomery County Police Department confirmed Huger’s single car crash to People. Her vehicle went over a median and hit multiple street signs. No one was injured during the incident and Huger was cited but not arrested at the scene. Huber issued a statement a couple days after the accident claiming she swerved to miss another car. She also said she was emotional due to the ing of both of her parents seven months apart in 2017.

“With the ing of my Beloved Mother, Grief comes and goes in waves, and with Mother’s Day approaching it has felt more like a tsunami,” she stated to TMZ. “Last night I met a girlfriend for dinner, we talked and brought up some very emotionally sensitive topics. I was crying on my way home and saw a car heading right for me.”

During the trail, the jury heard additional details of the aftermath of the crash. One witness testified that she smelled like alcohol. According to a volunteer EMT’s testimony, Huger was not steady on her feet and told them to “go f— yourselves” more than once. She was allegedly kinder to a female firefighter complimenting their appearance. Body cam footage of an officer telling Huger she was “hammered” was also entered into evidence.

This case has been playing out on season 9 of the popular Bravo show. Her former castmate Charrisse Jackson Jordan might not be surprised by Huger’s conviction. In a 2023 appearance on Carlos King’s podcast, Jordan spilled the tea. “That’s the real reputation that [Huger] has in Potomac. As the old drunk Black lady that falls off of the bar stools and she’ll run around after these young little boys and all this stuff. That’s her real reputation.”

Huger’s not the only Bravo star to run into legal trouble, and if she’s sentenced to jail time, she wouldn’t even be the first to end up behind bars. The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice spent 11 months in jail for fraud. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Jen Shah is currently serving a six and a half year sentence for fraud at Bryan Federal Prison Camp in Texas.

In perhaps the most bizarre celebrity crossover Hollywood has ever seen, Hugh Grant has addressed claims that he once made out with a star of The Real Housewives of New York.

Luann de Lesseps — who was a castmate on the reality TV series for thirteen seasons — recalled an alleged romantic interaction she had with the British heartthrob in a recent interview with Too Fab. According to de Lesseps, known simply as ‘The Countess’ among fans, the meet-cute occurred when, years ago, she decided to dine at a Hamptons restaurant called Pierre’s, after hearing from a friend that Grant was there. 

“I called [the restaurant] and said, ‘Get the table right next to Hugh Grant,’” de Lesseps recalled, “I said, ‘Let’s go.'” Once at the restaurant, de Lesseps initiated what she called a “flirting 101” ploy that involved her ‘accidently’ bumping into Grant while pushing out her chair (you know, classic romcom stuff). Feigning regret, de Lesseps said she then apologized to the Notting Hill star and offered to buy him a shot as compensation. 

“I go, ‘I’m so sorry, can I buy you a shot? I feel terrible,'” the reality star claimed. “He goes, ‘Okay, but I’ll come have a shot with you if you do one with me.'” By de Lesseps’ , the manufactured meet-cute actually worked, and the night progressed to the point where the pair were “taking shots and making out … heavily at the table,” she claimed. Just hours after airing the details of the supposed story, Grant responded… though he recalls the tale a little differently. 

In a post shared on X, the Heretic actor itted that he does “ meeting a charming RHNY in a restaurant,” but took time to stress that the encounter “was about 15 years ago.” Since it happened so long ago, Grant’s memory of the interaction is understandably hazy, but he did say that he does not “recall shots or kissing.” While that dashes our hopes of a strange new power couple, Grant did leave the door somewhat open in of the validity of de Lesseps’ , saying “her memory might be better than mine.” 

Grant choosing not to outright deny the interaction gives us hope that perhaps something titillating happened between the pair, but Grant isn’t the only A-lister that de Lesseps’ sought to get frisky with. In the same Too Fab interview, the RHONY castmate revealed that she was once hell-bent on having a romantic encounter with Gerard Butler, and almost had the chance when the pair shared an elevator many years ago. However, as de Lesseps recalled, Butler was in a relationship at the time, so her mission could not be completed (there’s still time, girl!). 

Interestingly, the broader Housewives and Bravo universe is filled with castmates who have likewise claimed to be involved with major A-listers. Vanderpump Rules’ Jax Taylor previously claimed he’d slept with Lindsay Lohan (though she shot down the rumor), while Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Brandi Glanville once dated both Butler and Ben Stiller. Elsewhere, Teddi Mellencamp, also of RHOBH, said she slept with Matt Damon, and de Lesseps’ RHONY co-star Carole Radziwill was once linked to George Clooney.

The reality TV stan in me hopes that one day all those names will make cameos on The Real Housewives franchise, and sit in awe like the rest of us as they inevitably throw wine glasses at each other. Talk about an Oscar-worthy performance!

In one of the funniest scenes in the third episode of Marvel’s Agatha All Along, every witch gets Botox. After drinking poisoned wine, the coven’s faces swelled so badly, they began looking like every other rich person you may know that has become a little too into plastic surgery.

Given the context of the episode, which took Agatha and co. down the Witches’ Road and into a beautiful, sensibly decorated beachside mansion, and noting the familiarity of the makeover the characters were given as they walked through its door, viewers were quick to make the association with a popular reality show about similarly wealthy, pristinely dressed women, drinking wine and trading gossip.

“The Real Housewives of Westview Season 1 Reunion,” one fan tweeted, under a hilarious behind-the-scenes selfie with the cast still showing off the makeup department’s fantastic prosthetic work on their botched plastic surgery faces. “Looks like a Jennifer Coolidge fan convention,” another replied.

Another hilarious tweet described all the cosmetic interventions done to the witches’ faces. “Rhinoplasty, eye lift, jaw shave, botox, cheek filler, facial bone surgery, gastric by surgery, v neck blazer, facelift, feet reduction, lip filler, buccal fat removal.” Sounds like a Kardashian’s to-do list. “DO NOT GET BOTOX FROM TEMU,” one viewer warned.

According to Patti LuPone in a video of the cast that Ali Ahn shared on her Instagram, however, the inspiration was actually another type of wife show, Mob Wives, and its main star, the late Big Ang (the resemblance is uncanny).

Explaining the poison everyone drank with their wine in episode 3 of Agatha All Along, and why we should hide it from everyone in Hollywood

If you’re thinking this miraculous wine will give you the plump lips and chiseled bone structure of your dreams for a much cheaper price than that plastic surgeon you follow on Instagram, think again.

Known as Alewife’s Revenge, the face-lift-inducing poison contained in the wine drunk by the coven in episode 3 of Agatha All Along can also cause dizziness, delirium, loss of motion function, hallucinations, and, yes, death. R.I.P. Sharon Hart. After their faces regained their regular shape, much to Lilia Calderu’s chagrin, all of the witches began hallucinating about past traumas, providing some of the scariest imagery in the season so far. We do not recommend.

The poison borrows its name from witchcraft lore, which has frequently crossed wires with the figure of the medieval alewife. Alewives were beer makers in medieval Europe whose costumes and customs have been widely reported as the source for the typical witch get-up in popular culture. Alewives wore tall, pointy hats so they could easily be identified in the marketplace crowds, and used large cauldrons to boil grains and perfect brews. These crafty women also hug broom-like ale poles by their front doors to identify their business, and employed cats to hunt grain-hungry mice.

Both historians and popular legend have theorized that alewives are behind the modern conception of witches, since they would often be accused of leading men astray with their magical potions. We’ve all seen British men after a football match — forget about the “wives” part, it was obviously the ale.

For witchcraft enthusiasts, it’s been deliciously fun to pick up on these references throughout the episodes of Agatha All Along. In the lore of the occult, perhaps the Alewife’s Revenge poison was used by these medieval witches in reaction to their bad rep. We’ll only excuse the switch from beer to wine in this instance because the latter fits the Real House(Ale?)wives aesthetic much better.

Thankfully, right when the coven’s arms were beginning to flail around and the clock was running out, Jen was able to concoct an antidote that saved their lives (well, not all of them… We will miss you, Sharon).

Everyone, hold on to your wine glasses, tables, and any other projectile befitting of a Real Housewives castmate, because Reese Witherspoon has just revealed she’s working on a project with a star from the Bravo franchise. 

The actress made the revelation while on the red carpet at the 2024 Emmy Awards, which she attended as part of the cast for The Morning Show. Speaking with Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox, Witherspoon said she had recently sat next to a cast member of The Real Housewives while on a flight, though she refused to name exactly which Housewife was likely chatting her ear off. 

Then, Witherspoon delivered what is perhaps the biggest news to the Bravo-verse since Denise Richards may or may not have hooked up with Brandi Glanville, saying that she and the unnamed Housewife “might have… a project cooking now.” Witherspoon said the project would be produced by Hello Sunshine, the media company she founded that’s also behind Big Little Lies, Daisy Jones & the Six and The Morning Show. 

“It was cool,” Witherspoon said of her interaction with the Housewife, “It was really cool.” The news is particularly surprising given that, as she went on to reveal, Witherspoon is not exactly a fan of the staple reality franchise. “I have never watched it,” the Legally Blonde star said, “I feel like it’s like, I can’t catch up.” Witherspoon went on to discuss the potential Housewives project during other red carpet chats, with interviewe Heather McMahan’s reaction accurately encapsulating it all.

It’s a shocking ission if only because she’s missing out on true drama, but Witherspoon compensates for the fact that her Big Little Lies character is essentially the blueprint of any great Housewives star. While exactly who the Bravo castmate is that will be involved in the Witherspoon project remains unknown, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards liked the clip of Witherspoon on social media, so perhaps it’s that pairing that might grace our screens soon?

Richards is also an actress, having starred most recently in Halloween Ends opposite Jamie Lee Curtis, though her involvement in the project is purely speculative and based on the wishful thinking of this Bravoholic writer. Witherspoon was nominated alongside her The Morning Show castmate Jennifer Aniston for outstanding lead actress in a drama series. 

The duo were up against the likes of The Crown’s Imelda Staunton and The Gilded Age’s Carrie Coon, but ultimately lost out to Anna Sawai of Shōgun, who became the first Asian woman to ever take home the trophy in that category. With Witherspoon’s revelation, it might be the case that another history-making Emmy win is also on the horizon, in the form of a Housewife taking home the award for whatever is being cooked up at Hello Sunshine.

This might be a hot take, but I hope whatever it is, it somehow involves Lisa Rinna, or Lisa Barlow, or Lisa Vanderpump, or anyone named Lisa who has appeared on The Real Housewives.

Married to Medicine

Married to Medicine gets points for its novel concept, following the lives of a group of women from Atlanta who are connected to the medical field, either by marriage or as practitioners themselves. This lends itself to a slice of life that isn’t always seen, and the show made bonafide stars out of Dr. Heavenly Kimes, Toya Bush-Harris, and the always hilarious Phaedra Parks.  

Southern Charm

Documenting the interpersonal dynamics of a group of socialites in Charleston, Southern Charm offers a welcome dose of high-society escapism without sacrificing the sumptuous drama. Castmates like Craig Conover and Austen Kroll are mainstays who’ve appeared in other Bravo spin-offs, and Southern Charm’s ten-season run suggests there’s still plenty more in the tank over in South Carolina.   

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen

We’d be remiss not to include Bravo’s official mascot, Andy Cohen, on this list. Since 2009, the TV personality has been hosting the chat show Watch What Happens Live, with a guest list that ranges from staple Bravolebrities to A-listers (and Bravoholics) like Jennifer Lawrence. WWHL is known for its fun games like Plead The Fifth, and it sometimes becomes the source of drama on other shows when a castmate puts their foot in it while chatting with Cohen. 

Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake

Bravo knew that, despite the removal of the entire Real Housewives of New York City cast, we couldn’t be without its most hilarious castmates, Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan. On Welcome to Crappie Lake, the reality TV version of Lucy and Ethel takes to the titular small town of Benton, Illinois for a week-long trip of hijinks, transformations, and genuine wholesomeness. 

Summer House

Renowned as the Bravo show beloved by younger audiences, Summer House is the network’s answer to Big Brother, a show following 20-something castmates as they live together in a house in the Hamptons. Across its eight-season run, fans have enjoyed a host of dramatic moments courtesy of Kyle, Lindsay, and the gang, from bombshell divorces to friendship breakups and never booze to quench the thirst of an entire nation.  

Below Deck

Below Deck offers perhaps the purest form of Bravo escapism, taking viewers onboard glitzy superyachts as they travel to a range of idyllic destinations. Naturally, we’ve become familiar with every rung of the superyacht hierarchy, from Captains like Sandy and Lee to chefs, chief stewards, and deckhands. Most of the drama arises from within these dynamics, but we’ve seen a fair share of messy guests, to be sure. 

The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip

Rightfully considered The Avengers of the Bravoverse, Ultimate Girls Trip brings together castmates from different Real Housewives cities for a week-long trip. Season one of the spinoff series was populated by OG housewives, while season two featured castmates fired from their original show. Needless to say, but when you put a bunch of seasoned reality TV professionals in one setting and fireworks naturally ensue.   

The Valley

A surprise hit, Bravo’s newest show, The Valley, delivered a captivating debut season this year despite fans’ initial hesitation. A spinoff of Vanderpump Rules, The Valley features former castmates of that show as well as new faces, each of whom are in the throes of marriage, divorce, and parenthood. We’re only one season in, but this cast has serious promise.  

Vanderpump Rules

In 2013, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump offered us a peak behind the curtain of her Los Angeles restaurant, SUR. What we found with Vanderpump Rules was an assortment of young, attractive, and perpetually drama-prone waiters who would either sleep with each other or fight with each other. Years later, Vanderpump Rules would deliver one of Bravo’s buzziest moments when news of castmate Tom Sandoval’s affair with Raquel Leviss broke. This Emmy-nominated series is a true Bravo staple. 

The Real Housewives

While there’s so much to be enjoyed about the above shows, the number one spot couldn’t go to anything else but The Real Housewives. Not only was it the franchise that started it all — with Real Housewives of Orange County premiering almost two decades ago — but it’s also Bravo’s crown jewel, spanning 11 city-specific franchises and launching the careers of countless household names. Other shows might come close, but The Real Housewives is Bravo’s blueprint and rightful sacred text. 

Before and after Andy Cohen called it “The Real Housewives of Ozempic,” fans of the Bravo franchise have heard about yet another Housewife who has used the GLP-1 drug for weight loss, and that includes The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay.

Whether or not you think RHOSLC is one of the best shows in the franchise, it’s hard not to find the fairly new series gripping. But while viewers may have heard that Heather took Ozempic, they might not know the full story. Let’s hear what she said and why this is so important to talk about.

What did Heather Gay say about her Ozempic use?

Heather shared with ABC News in March 2024 that she used Ozempic to lose weight and ended up losing 30 pounds. While some Real Housewives stars have said they use Ozempic (and some, like Kyle Richards, have said they definitely didn’t), Heather has been particularly candid when discussing it. But many people might be upset to hear her take on the drug, which is intended for people who have Type 2 diabetes.

According to People, Heather was at the Women of Reality TV event put on by Variety and talked about others being “nicer” once she had dropped five pounds. She said, “It’s just the way the world works, and that makes me sad for women.”

But this is where things get a bit confusing. Heather’s words suggest she thinks people should love themselves no matter what and she does seem to think that. But she made a statement that sounds like fat-shaming. She said in her ABC News interview that it’s “disappointing and sad to know that body positivity was all a big lie” and “it’s better to not be overweight.”

While Ozempic might be a Hollywood rage or fad right now, there’s a deeper, important discussion to be had. Eating disorder expert Marianne Miller told USA Today that if people who struggle with eating disorders take Ozempic but don’t deal with their emotions, that’s a problem. Miller said “weight loss is incredibly complex.”

To be totally fair, Heather did tell ABC News that she hopes her three daughters Georgia, Annabelle, and Ashley will be “empowered” as they move throughout their lives. She said she doesn’t want them to believe their “value” and weight are connected. But at the same time, Heather said she can’t “lie” to her daughters and say that “what matters is on the inside” only as physical appearances “matter” as well. This is a strange take, as don’t most moms tell their kids that their personalities, hopes, and dreams are what count the most?

While Heather didn’t say that she had any negative side effects when she took Ozempic, this is another key piece of the puzzle. According to Harvard Health Publishing, people can experience constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and even throw up when taking Ozempic (no thank you!). Although some people have great experiences, others aren’t so lucky, which is what feels so scary about this trend.

When RHOSLC fans discussed Heather’s statement about Ozempic on Reddit, some agreed with her that society is unfair toward those in larger clothing sizes, which is of course true, and horrible. Others relate to her weight loss journey, and have been on the same trajectory. Redditor @The40ishDiva said GLP-1 drugs are “life changing for people who have battled weight, food noise, and food addiction.”

If Heather is happy and feels good, then that’s important, and she’s allowed to change her body if she wants. She called Ozempic her “last hope” when wanting to lose weight, and people can be sympathetic that she did try other things first, which must have been frustrating.

It seems crucial to think about this situation from Heather’s POV. She’s a reality star with an image-obsessed career, and has to think about her body more than a lot of people, given all the time she spends being photographed or filmed. However, the most troubling part of her Ozempic discussion is that “body positivity is a lie.” The diet culture of the ’90s and 2000s has gotten a lot better, although there’s still a lot of it today, and the body positivity moment has helped countless people find contentment and health. It’s a shame to ignore that, or worse, claim it’s not a step in the right direction.

For almost two decades, The Real Housewives franchise has graced our airwaves with a never-ending onslaught of petty feuds, high-stakes melodrama and luxurious, eye-watering escapism.

The crown jewel of the Bravo network, The Real Housewives has sustained its loud-mouthed run by offering an insight into the lives of ladies who lunch from regions all across the country, be it the glitz and glamor of Beverly Hills or the frosty mountains of Salt Lake City. 

Spawning countless catchphrases that have seeped into the pop culture vocabulary and creating a universe on par with (or even better than) Marvel’s, The Real Housewives is a touchstone of reality television and society writ large.

In celebration of this beloved franchise (can you tell I’m a fan?), we’re sorting through all the staple iterations of The Real Housewives, ranked from worst to best. 

9. The Real Housewives of Dubai

Given that it is the most recently-launched iteration, RHOD needs some time to establish itself before it can reach the heights of its peers. The first season was entertaining enough, and heralded a bonafide star in the form of castmate Chanel Ayan, but we need to let the friendships develop before anything truly jaw-dropping can occur.  

8. The Real Housewives of Potomac

In its heyday, RHOP certainly would’ve been higher on this list. Seasons one to five are top-tier, and established the ladies of Potomac as somewhat novel given the relative obscurity of their hometown. However, even the most diehard of fans will it that the last few seasons of this once-beloved show have been lacklustre, thanks in large part to an assortment of women who simply refuse to move past their issues (ahem, Gizelle). Bravo’s recent cast shake-up might help this fan favorite franchise rise the ranks once more. 

7. The Real Housewives of New Jersey

I’ll it that having RHNJ so far down the list is bound to ruffle a few feathers, especially given that this iteration is home perhaps the most iconic moment across the entire franchise (Theresa Guidice’s table-flip). But, like RHOP before it, the ladies of New Jersey are suffering from a stalemate that has slowed the momentum of the show, forcing tired storylines to continue without resolution. We hope the most recent season’s lack of a reunion isn’t the final nail in the coffin. 

6. The Real Housewives of Orange County

It’s the franchise that started it all, but it’s also the franchise that suffers from a lack of consistency. RHOC has certainly had its golden years (who can forget the Cancer-gate scandal that rocked the reality TV universe?), but it languished during the pandemic, and its rotating door of castmates in recent years (good riddance, Kelly Dodd) has left it feeling untethered. The return of staples like Heather Dubrow and Tamra Judge, however, has made it feel as though things are looking up.

5. The Real Housewives of Atlanta

This is again a case of the near-perfect earlier seasons making up for the more recent dull ones. RHOA is undoubtedly the funniest of all Housewives franchises, and is home to quotable moments that are surprisingly applicable in everyday life (“gone with the wind fabulous”), but the departure of Bravo icons like NeNe Leakes, Kenya Moore, and Kandi Burruss has left RHOA struggling to rediscover its footing.   

4. The Real Housewives of New York City

Seasons one to ten of RHONY should be studied and hung in the Louvre, but even that isn’t enough of a tribute to the sheer brilliance of this show from 2008 to 2018. Every single Housewife was perfectly cast, delivered hilarious antics, and kept the drama consistently engaging. It also boasted the franchise’s best backdrop in the Big Apple, and created household names like Bethenney Frankel. 

Unfortunately, the declining quality of this unanimously adored franchise saw Bravo’s biggest fall from grace, resulting in a recent reboot with an entirely new cast. While they have Herman Munster-sized shoes to fill, the new ladies of NYC show lots of promise, so here’s hoping those glory days return soon enough.

3. The Real Housewives of Miami

RHOM came back from a years-long hiatus firing on all cylinders. Since its return to screens in 2021, the show has not faltered, somehow outdoing itself with consistently captivating seasons. The cast is pitch-perfect, the drama is enticing, and the Miami lifestyle is fabulously enviable. It’s an underrated iteration, but it deserves all the flowers and then some. 

2. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

Housewives fans should stop and take stock, because we are currently in the midst of RHOSLC’s glory days and we need to savour every minute. Despite entering the Housewives universe somewhat recently, the ladies of Salt Lake City have not yet put a foot wrong. It is undoubtedly the most outlandish franchise — with a cast that feels like a parody or caricature of what it means to be a Housewife — but that’s what makes it so fun. 

Oh, it’s also home to the franchise’s most juicy storylines. Jail time for federal crimes, alleged religious cults, and running troll social media s are all just par for the course in Salt Lake City.

1. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

I will concede that RHOB might not be the most jaw-droppingly dramatic Housewives franchise, but something about it is consistently engaging, to the point where each new season maintains, or sometimes supersedes, the quality of its predecessor.

It gets points for having the starriest and richest cast, from child actors to Bond girls and restaurateurs, as well as for boasting the franchise’s best ratings. When someone wants to start the Herculean task of watching Housewives for the first time, you probably suggest RHOB — and for good reason.
