Did somebody say “Mother?” Because Elizabeth Olsen just might answer. It’s unclear exactly why, but most MCU cast are always willing to return. Is it the incredible pay? Or the chance to breathe life into classic comic book characters? Probably a little from column A, a little from column B. a203y

No matter the case, Elizabeth Olsen isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to Scarlet Witch. For over a decade, we saw Wanda grow to be among the strongest individuals in the MCU. While her fate at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness put a huge question mark on her return, the actress isn’t done with Wanda’s story. And if Marvel execs know a thing or two about business, they’ll finally respond to the people’s call for a Scarlet Witch movie.

The fans aren’t the only ones who would love to see more Wanda. While speaking with Collider, Olsen reminisced about the decade she has spent playing the character. “It’s really unusual,” she said. “It’s something that’s been incredible. I assume it’s how people feel when they get to do a TV show for a long time. To be able to return to a character and continue to move them forward has been so much fun for me, especially because they gave me something like WandaVision to really blow it all up.”

Many fans feel the same way about Wanda’s growth throughout her time in the MCU. But that wasn’t all Olsen had to say. “I do feel very lucky that I’ve been able to play a character for over ten years of my life, and I’d love to keep doing more.” Olsen’s hunger for more Wanda Maximoff has definitely validated many fans. But, is there even a future for Wanda in the MCU?

Could Wanda return to the MCU? 2a125k

Let’s take a look at where we last saw Wanda. To understand her actions in Multiverse of Madness, we have to first look back to WandaVision. The MCU’s first official TV show, still considered by many to be its best, followed the titular characters after the events of Endgame. Due to the grief of losing Vision in Avengers: Infinity War, Wanda put the entire town of Westview under a hex, forcing its citizens to live idyllic lives while she lived with a construct of Vision and their two children, Tommy and Billy, who she also created in the hex.

She returned in Multiverse of Madness after being forced to end the hex on Westview. As a result, she lost Vision again, as well as her children. However, in Multiverse of Madness she discovered that versions of her children existed in parallel universes. The movie ended with her sacrificing herself to destroy the last copies of the Darkhold. Even so, a flash of red power, just as Mount Wundagore was coming down, had fans hoping that she might have survived.

The MCU has had some tongue-in-cheek moments suggesting something similar. For example, in Agatha All Along, Agatha gives a non-answer when asked if Wanda is alive. Even with these hints, it looks like the MCU is done with the Scarlet Witch… or at least this version of her. Wanda’s actions in both WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness can’t possibly end with a mere sacrifice, right? Thankfully, with the multiverse now established, we can’t rule out ever seeing another variant of her. Whatever the case, just like Olsen, we would love to discover where else the character can go.

Well, that clears that up... Sorta. ]]>

Scarlet Witch acolytes who were convinced that Wanda Maximoff wasn’t dead — despite Agatha All Along trying to convince us otherwise — your faith has paid off. Marvel has finally revealed the truth about what happened to the sorceress following her apparent demise in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the full story appears much more complicated — and may just tease her return in next year’s Avengers: Doomsday.

Despite appearing in two of Phase Four’s most popular projects, Elizabeth Olsen’s (anti-)heroine hasn’t turned out to be as major a figure of the Multiverse Saga as we expected. Needless to say, the makers of MoM face flak for that on social media daily, as executing such a powerful and influential character is widely regarded as the movie’s biggest mistake (and this is a film that killed off John Kransinski’s Reed Richards after five minutes!). Luckily, it now appears that Wanda isn’t dead, after all. Everybody, thank the TVA!

The MCU’s Scarlet Witch is confirmed to be alive (we think…) 1n4q3z

In a bizarre twist, the true fate of the MCU’s Scarlet Witch has been revealed not in a Marvel Studios project but in the pages of a Marvel comic. The ongoing TVA comic book series is a neat blend of MCU continuity and the unlimited potential of the comics medium, as it follows the Time Variance Authority after the events of Loki. Along with appearances from familiar characters like Mobius, Sylvie, and Hunter B-15, TVA focuses on the organization’s Research & Advancements Department, staffed by such multiversal variants as Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider, Captain Carter, and Gambit.

In TVA #3, a psychological sickness known as the Madness is sweeping the multiverse, and in order to find the culprit, Gwen retraces the walk she took through the TVA in a hallucinatory dream. This leads her to discover the forgotten Department of Deferment in the TVA’s bowels. On the comic’s jaw-dropping final page, the department is revealed to house the MCU’s Wanda in stasis (see above). Note the identical character design to the Scarlet Witch’s MoM look!

Given this Wanda’s identical resemblance to the MCU character and the fact that writer Katharyn Blair is an MCU veteran herself — having written for the Loki TV series — there surely is no other way to take this than as an in-canon confirmation that reports of the witch’s death have been greatly exaggerated. In reality, the TVA must’ve removed her from the timeline before she could be crushed by the collapsing Mount Wundagore. Just in case you were in any doubt, artist Pere Pérez confirmed in an Instagram comment that this is indeed Olsen’s Scarlet Witch variant.

After Deadpool & Wolverine reaffirmed the TVA’s importance to the ongoing narrative of the Multiverse Saga, it’s not a stretch to imagine them returning for Doomsday. And now it’s not hard to imagine how the TVA could reintroduce Wanda onto the Avengers’ roster in that same film. Maybe Mobius warns the heroes that Doctor Doom is coming and they need to accept Wanda back on their team in order to defeat him?

TVA #3 is on sale now, with issue four coming in March before the five-part series reaches its conclusion on April 30.

We can all breathe a sigh of relief.]]>
<![CDATA[

Captain America: Brave New World’s big theatrical release is just days away, and if you’re like me, you’re feeling nervous about it. Gone are the days of excitedly shuffling into the movie theater with your popcorn bucket, ready to be swept up in the MCU’s latest offering. After several suspended projects, a handful of critical bombs, and a number of scrapped storylines chilling by the wayside, Marvel has to earn back our trust. One way it can do that is by not making the same mistake so many took umbrage with in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Clearly, I’m talking about Wanda Maximoff. More specifically, about the way Wanda’s storyline in Multiverse of Madness undermined her (much more compelling) storyline in the Disney Plus series WandaVision. Thankfully, Brave New World’s director, Julius Onah, flat out said we don’t have to worry about Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) suffering from the same case of storytelling-itis as Wanda.

In speaking with Vanity Fair, Onah touched on Sam’s arc in the movie, and no, it doesn’t include grappling with his identity as the new Captain America. Why would it? Sam already overcame that struggle in the six-episode Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

“That question has been resolved,” Onah said of Sam’s previous conflict. “Sam is our Captain America now. He’s our hero.”

It shouldn’t feel refreshing to hear a director acknowledge the natural order of storytelling, but when the last two MCU films starring a character from a Disney Plus show saw their storyline all but forgotten, a sigh of relief is warranted. I’m referring to Wanda in Doctor Strange 2, yes, but also Nick Fury in The Marvels. Then again, even Kevin Feige would probably like to forget Secret Invasion.

Elizabeth Olsen’s turn as Wanda aka Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange 2 has become a sore spot for fans, and rightfully so. The character is one of the most popular in the franchise, with the nine-episode WandaVision series cementing that fact with its airtight writing, nuanced storytelling, and heartfelt character progression. The devolution of Wanda’s arc in DS2 has been harped on enough, but for the sake of hammering home a point, let’s harp some more.

Once the dust settled, Olsen itted the writers of DS2 hadn’t known about Wanda’s storyline in WandaVision before penning the script. A little communication between teams would have solved that issue, but what use is communication when you have spackle and spit to cover up your mistakes? I hear it fixes everything. And so, the Scarlet Witch spent the better part of two hours running around the multiverse killing anything that moved to get back her kids, Tommy and Billy.

Olsen has said she’s willing to return to the character as long as the “smartest writers” are on the scene. In other words, Wanda may be dead, she may not be dead, but if she does come back — and she likely is — can the inhabitants of Earth-199999 not pretend like she didn’t just turn evil in Doctor Strange 2? Please and thank you.

So, that leaves us with Brave New World, set to debut this Friday, Feb. 14. I’m glad we can put Sam’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier arc to bed. The country needs Cap more than ever. That means don’t expect to see Sam and Joaquin Torres playing tug-of-war about who wore the Falcon moniker best. Actually, they might still do that, but at the very least Sam won’t be turning into Dark Cap or insist he doesn’t want to take up the mantle as Cap, because — and I don’t think this can be stressed enough — we’ve seen that show before.

Talks of robots and AI tend to scare some people off, but for others, it is a world of untapped possibilities. Kim Kardashian, no stranger to polarizing moves, now has her very own robot companion.

Kardashian helped reignite the reignite conversations about how far robotics technology can go. But beyond the comparisons to Wanda Maximoff and Vision, a 10-year-old prophecy about robot companions has once again seen the light of day. But just how right were we about the future?

Kim Kardashian cozies up with a Tesla robot 1c5g6e

Kardashian has spent the last few days making headlines by sharing pictures of herself with her new Tesla robot. The media personality is no stranger to breaking the internet, but this particular feat in particular has sparked a lot of conversations.

Earlier this week, Kardashian introduced the world to her new robot in a video posted to X. “Meet my new friend,” she captioned the photo, tagging Tesla. In the video, she showed some of the robot’s features, such as waving hi, and completing half of a hand heart with her.

The next day on Instagram, she shared some more robot-related content, cozying up to her new friend in a Tesla Cybercab. Another shot showed Kardashian and the robot holding hands, spurring comparisons to the MCU’s Scarlet Witch and Vision. However, one commenter hilariously told the famous influencer, “You will never be Wanda Maximoff!”

Neither the Tesla Cybercab nor Optimus have hit the market yet, and Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, has said that Optimus would hopefully be ready for sale by 2026, while the Cybercab is slated for 2027. Conversations around robotics and artificial intelligence have been very prevalent in recent news, so it’s no surprise that both Optimus and the Cybercab were headline-worthy. However, there is another reason why Kardarshian’s post caused such a fuss.

A decade-old prophecy sees the light 694r1o

Hilariously, Kardarshian’s photos drew attention to a 2016 tweet that made a prediction about the future of sex and robotics. The tweet from The Sun Magazine read, “Women will be having more sex with robots than men by 2025.” Despite the fact that Optimus isn’t a sex robot, this headline and the apparent “prophecy” gained a lot of traction on X following her post

However, what many people might not be aware of, is that the prophecy has not only been fulfilled, but it’s already come to . And surprise surprise, men beat women to it. Sex robots for men, although scarce, have been in operation for a while now, and there are a few companies that exclusively provide these services.

With the growing popularity of AI, the sex robot industry has progressed beyond many people’s imaginations. One of the biggest companies in this industry is Abyss Creations, who are the makers of the polarizing “Real Doll.” The company, which has been in the business of making silicone dolls for over two decades, started making robot dolls in 2017 when they gained international recognition with the first in the RealDollX line, Harmony. They now have five individual robot dolls that are all powered by AI and are just one of many companies creating both male and female robot dolls for pleasure.

Our beloved superhero now shares X-Men's solid MCU future. Their comeback is no longer an "if." Whew!]]>
<![CDATA[

As part of the D23 event in Brazil, Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, has revealed the MCU’s exciting plans for the X-Men and the return of a beloved character everyone feared had retired.

The closing of the Infinity Saga represented the end of the line for multiple key Marvel heroes, including Robert Downey Jr.’ Iron Man, Scarlet Johanson’s Black Widow, and Chris Evans’ Captain America. Yet, the “Multiversal Saga” kept the trend alive when it supposedly killed Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. It definitely didn’t help when Olsen expressed discontent with the film’s plot and commented on how her character was treated. Along with this, her absence from subsequent projects, which extended to avoid even mentioning the Scarlet Witch, sparked fears that the actress was done with the MCU for good.

Of course, the success of Agatha All Along led to an uproar of disgruntled fans who wanted Wanda to return, followed by Olsen herself adding her voice to the crowd, hinting she wanted to return sooner than later.

It looks like everyone’s wishes will come true. In a revealing interview with Brazilian outlet Omelete, the Marvel Studios president has strategically shifted from “no comment” to a surprisingly candid acknowledgment of Wanda’s future in the MCU. In Feige’s words:

“We’ve recently had Agatha All Along on Disney Plus, and that series has been great for us. Since then, there have been a lot of questions about Wanda in fans’ minds… So all I can say is that we’re excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch can come back.”

It’s settled, then. Feige is still playing coy about the how and the when, but the lingering “if” has been erased for good and there’s no longer any doubt the Scarlet Witch is coming back to the MCU. The timing couldn’t be better, considering the character’s comic book history with the X-Men, who’ll soon become the center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kevin Feige reveals when the X-Men will enter the MCU 5r4257

In the same interview where he spilled the beans on the Scarlet Witch, Feige revealed an unprecedented level of long-term planning that extends well beyond Avengers: Secret Wars. Unlike the approach to Endgame, where the focus was primarily on reaching a conclusion, Marvel Studios now has a clear roap for its future.

“When we were preparing for Avengers: Endgame years ago, it was a matter of getting to the grand finale of our narrative, and then we had to start all over again after that. This time, on the road to Secret Wars, we already know very well what the story will be until then and beyond. The X-Men are an important part of that future.”

It makes sense that Marvel Studios is already planning what to do once the “Multiversal Saga” is done. Since Avengers: Endgame, the MCU has been getting a lot of heat from fans, who have openly denounced the lack of consistency regarding quality. It’s a fact that the MCU has stretched too thin while juggling too many movies and TV shows, which is why Marvel Studios is aiming to downsize in the near future. So, since the “Multiversal Saga” didn’t work out as planned, Feige is bringing the big guns and putting the X-Men at the center of the MCU for whatever comes after Avengers: Secret Wars.

That’s an exciting perspective. The X-Men have headed some of the best Marvel Comics crossovers, including House of M, centered on the Scarlet Witch. Plus, with Mutants roaming free in the MCU, it’s only a matter of time before we get the dreamlike Avengers vs X-Men movie we all hoped for since Disney bought Fox. You know what? I agree with Feige: Let’s rush to the end of the “Multiversal Saga.”

This witch's crowning achievement may still be to come. ]]>
<![CDATA[

There was no cameo from Elizabeth Olsen‘s Wanda Maximoff in Agatha All Along after all, but that doesn’t mean her true successor didn’t make an appearance. And, no, it’s not her son, Wiccan.

The best thing about the Kathryn Hahn-fronted WandaVision spin-off is that it introduced a coven full of new powerful witches into the MCU, whereas before it was just Wanda and Agatha on their lonesome. Tragically, most of them didn’t make it out of the show alive, but it’s not all doom and gloom as at least one of them did. If the comics are anything to go by, they have a bright future ahead of them. And a big glow-up to boot.

I am, of course, talking about wellness guru/con artist queen Jennifer Kale. Outside of Billy and, technically, Agatha’s ghost, Jen was the only one of the coven of chaos who escaped the Witches’ Road intact. One Agatha fan thought it was a wasted moment that her last scene in the finale didn’t finally give the character her silver crown from the comics.

For others, though, this isn’t a wasted opportunity but an inherent promise that she’s coming back in some future project in the witchy corner of the Marvel multiverse. As one convinced commenter put it, “Queen WILL have her moment! Amen!”

Where could she show up? Given Jen’s connections to the supernatural superhero team in the source material, some kind of role in the much-touted Midnight Sons movie seems possible.

We know Kevin Feige imposed a lot of draconian rules on the Agatha production team, but did he order “Only Maximoffs get to wear crowns” too?

When Jen gets her own Wanda and Wiccan-alike big suit-up moment, that’s where the crown’s got to come in.

Alternatively, maybe the crown was there… all along? Some eagle-eyed viewers reported that there is a sneaky Easter egg referencing Jen’s crown: the earrings she wears in one scene are shaped just like her sorceress’ tiara.

It’s difficult to power-rank the witches of Agatha’s coven, although Jen wouldn’t necessarily be at the top — considering that the others include an ancient witch who’s been sucking the magic out of other witches for centuries, the son of the Scarlet Witch, and the personification of Death itself. It’s worth noting that, in the comics, Jennifer Kale is the reincarnation of ancient Atlantean sorceress Zhered-Na, so she has oodles of innate magical power. In many ways, she could be argued as Wanda’s true successor following her death. Especially as she has her own cosplayer’s dream of a crown.

The MCU’s Jen is a completely different character from the original, in of personality and backstory — her Atlantean heritage couldn’t really be replicated, as Atlantis doesn’t exist in this continuity (see Wakanda Forever‘s Talokan). Even so, it would be remiss if Marvel didn’t present her with her own mystical headpiece sometime. Whether it happens in Wiccan, Vision Quest, a Scarlet Witch movie, Agatha season 2, or even Midnight Suns, we should see her in a crown.

Dreams do come true. ]]>
<![CDATA[

Agatha All Along brought Ms. Harkness and her chaotic coven’s journey to a close, but this clearly isn’t the end of the (Witches’) road for this corner of the MCU. For starters, there’s one thing we’re all waiting on, and that’s the resurrection of the Scarlet Witch — something we were banking on happening in this very Disney Plus series following Wanda Maximoff’s demise in Doctor Strange 2. But, just like that promised “gay explosion” ending, it never came.

For those who need some reassurance that Wanda really hasn’t gone the way of so many needlessly deceased MCU female characters before her, it’s worth re-examining comments made by the Scarlet Witch herself, Elizabeth Olsen, in the wake of the Agatha finale. Fans have been waiting for some kind of indication that a Scarlet Witch movie is in the works at Marvel Studios, but one hasn’t been forthcoming. And yet Olsen already practically said as much back in 2023.

During a convention appearance last year (but which is now recirculating on social media), Olsen was asked what her dream scenario for a Wanda comeback would be. Intriguingly, Olsen pleaded the fifth on that one as she teased that she’s afraid to answer as Marvel’s prez Kevin Feige tends to make dreams come true.

“Well, honestly, if I were to tell you exactly what I would want I think I would maybe be spoiling something,” said Olsen, to much jubilation from the crowd. “Kevin Feige genuinely asks us what we want to do with the character and then he does it [Laughs] so I don’t know if I can share…I just want to come back.”

What makes Olsen’s reply so interesting post-Agatha is that we know the series’ creators had several strict no-nos enforced on them by the studio. Agatha wasn’t allowed to include Billy’s twin Tommy, his boyfriend Hulkling, and, most importantly, it had to leave Wanda’s fate in limbo. Obviously, Feige has big plans for the Maximoff family to come. While this could play out in either Vision Quest or the rumored Wiccan spinoff, the fact that Olsen was so careful not to get into specifics in the above 2023 Q&A heavily hints that she’s had talks about a feature-length return as the crimson sorceress. And maybe those talks have progressed further over the past 12 months.

Olsen has elsewhere hinted at how she’s not the biggest fan of Wanda’s sudden heel-turn in Multiverse of Madness, so we’d imagine that, if Feige has asked her what she wants from a comeback, it would be to back-track on portraying the Scarlet Witch as a villain. On the other hand, rumors have claimed that Wanda will be back for Avengers: Doomsday… but this time on the arm of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Maybe Olsen’s dream was to play Downey’s love interest, perhaps just to spite Gwyneth Paltrow, maybe it wasn’t. If only we had a way to see into the future to find out. Where’s Patti Lupone when you need her?

It's clear that mistakes were made. ]]>
<![CDATA[

One thing Marvel‘s otherwise mixed Multiverse Saga does deserve praise for is massively increasing the number of women in lead roles in this franchise. Unless you’re one of the “M-She-U” haters, of course, in which case it’s a crime on par with Quantumania. From WandaVision to Agatha All Along, many of the MCU’s movies and TV shows post-Endgame have featured prominent female characters at their core.

It’s gotten to the point that it’s tricky to name who the greatest female characters in this cinematic universe are. Back in the day, it was Black Widow or no one at all. All this is to say that the backlash one Marvel fan received when they decided to share their own personal “Mount Rushmore” of MCU women is kind of a good thing, actually. It proves how spoiled for choice we are these days.

X @CovenofChaoss made themselves as unpopular as Wanda Maximoff in Westview when they shared their top four MCU female characters. Their picks had an unsurprisingly witchy flavor for an with an Agatha reference for a name. Namely, their Mount Rushmore picks were Scarlet Witch, Agatha Harkness, Rio Vidal/Death, and… Clea from Doctor Strange 2?

You Clea, right? Charlize Theron turned up as the interdimensional sorceress for one whole minute in Multiverse of Madness‘ post-credits scene back in 2022 and we haven’t heard a peep from her since. Needless to say, putting Clea alongside Marvel’s other Madam Presidents on this MCU Mount Rushmore is inspiring some Illuminati-eradicating anger.

To be fair to the OP, they soon realized they had made a goof in picking Clea over other iconic characters, owning up to the fact they made a grievous error of judgment.

Specifically, several replies managed to convince them that Yelena Belova absolutely deserves a spot on Marvel Women Mountain.

As for why Natasha Romanoff isn’t on here, the OP argued that they were only including active/alive characters. And, fine, we’ll allow it.

What we can’t allow, though, is the shocking snub against Carol freaking Danvers. Brie Larson didn’t face misogynistic backlash for years only for Captain Marvel to lose her spot on this Mount Rushmore to 30-Second Theron.

To be entirely fair to Clea, there’s every chance she may deserve her exulted spot eventually. The heroine has a long history in the comics — she’s the heroic nice of Dormammu and she has been the Sorcerer Supreme herself. She’s also typically Strange’s main love interest — so sorry, Rachel McAdams but you’re getting replaced. Theron herself is naturally an absolute powerhouse so, provided Doctor Strange 3 actually gives her something to do, she could easily make everyone’s Mount Rushmore of Marvel women one day.

When that day will be is hard to discern right now, as we have no idea what Marvel is planning with the third Doctor Strange outing. At this point, it’s likely coming in 2027 at the earliest, so it probably won’t make a landing before the end of the Multiverse Saga. In the meantime, thank you to Clea’s #1 fan over here for reminding us she was even part of this franchise already.

Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along episode 9.

The Agatha All Along finale dropped some major clues about what’s next for the Maximoff family, which Marvel comics enthusiasts immediately picked up on, and it could mean good news for Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch.

Many hopeful Marvel fans tuned into Agatha All Along hoping to get some clarity about Wanda’s whereabouts after she was crushed under Mount Wundagore in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. While the show didn’t confirm she’s still alive, it did seem to rule out the idea that she is gone for good through multiple callbacks to her character and ambiguous comments from Agatha. Still, Scarlet Witch fans weren’t too pleased with the show using the popular superhero to draw in viewers, without the proper payoff.

“Y’all really spent the entire season using Wanda’s “death” as a gag and didn’t even have the balls to confirm or deny it in the finale that’s some punk ass s***,” one particularly unhappy fan complained. “Milking Wanda the entire series to completely ignore the question as to whether or not she’s still alive,” said another viewer. “They used Wanda’s name in every episode and trailer to promote this show, teasing her status as dead or alive, just to never give us any confirmation,” a third protested.

A bit of perspective, however, may paint a different picture. You see, Agatha turning into a ghost at the end of Agatha All Along wasn’t just a random way to allow her to continue playing a part in Billy’s story. This is actually a storyline plucked right from the comics, wherein a ghostly Agatha helps Wanda cross the Witches’ Road.

What Agatha’s ghost means for Scarlet Witch’s future in the MCU 4g5mn

The appearance of Agatha in her ghostly form at the end of Agatha All Along is a good omen for Scarlet Witch’s return to the MCU as it’s a direct nod to the eponymous 2015 comics by James Robinson.

In this series, Agatha comes back from the dead after being killed by Wanda to mentor her in her journey to save the cosmic entity Witchcraft from being destroyed by the cosmic entity Chaos. While making their way down the Witches’ Road, the two meet Wanda’s biological mother, Natalya, who brings Agatha back to life.

The so-called “covenless witch” will continue to stay close to the Maximoff family, with the final moments of Agatha All Along teasing a quest for Wanda’s other son and Billy’s twin, Tommy, which is expected to take place either in the Vision Quest show, or throughout the rumored Wiccan series, and possibly the rumored Scarlet Witch film. Aubrey Plaza’s character from the Disney Plus show, Rio Vidal/Lady Death, is also rumored to make further appearances in the MCU.

While Marvel will most likely not be adapting this storyline verbatim, choosing instead to make Agatha Billy’s mentor, the mere presence of her ghost suggests a purposeful scheme to get fans of the comics to make this connection and get excited about Scarlet Witch’s return.

The witchcraft and wizardry side of the franchise, also known as “Wandaverse,” has become incredibly popular with the fandom, so Kevin Feige and co. will definitely want to continue betting on this web of powerful, magical characters, starting with the queen.

New rumors claim the continuation of Doctor Strange‘s story is taking a backseat at Marvel Studios. The third film in the Master of the Mystic Arts’ trilogy, which was initially expected to release in 2026, is now suspected to begin filming that same year.

The reports come from frequent Marvel insider Daniel Richtman, who alleges the film will now come out after the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga, presumably meaning after the double-bill of Avengers movies coming in 2026 and 2027.

Is this goodbye to Time Runs Out? 1h56s

A tentative title for the film was Doctor Strange: Time Runs Out after rumors emerged last year that the project would pull from the comic book event of the same name which deals with the incursion between the last two remaining parallel timelines in the multiverse and serves a prelude to the 2015 comic Secret Wars (also the title of the second Avengers film). An incursion, aka the collision and subsequent destruction of two timelines, happens after reckless and continued multiversal travel.

Fans will recall how Charlize Theron’s Clea visited Stephen Strange in the Multiverse of Madness mid-credits scene. She informs Strange that he caused an incursion, just like the version of his character who was killed by the Illuminati in the dimension Strange, Wanda Maximoff, and America Chavez briefly visited in the film. Clea then uses an energy knife to create a age to the Dark Dimension which, once again, attentive viewers will from the first Doctor Strange film as the home of the inter-dimensional mystical entity Dormammu (also Clea’s uncle in the comics).

In that film, Dormammu wanted to merge the Earth and the Dark Dimension but was ultimately stopped by Stephen who exhausted the power-hungry creature with a time-stone-induced time-loop, using Earth’s safety as his bargaining chip. A recent listing from Production Weekly, a subscription service that delivers news and updates on film and TV productions, featured none other than Denzel Washington as part of the cast of Doctor Strange 3 precisely in the role of Dormammu. The character was voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch in the first film. The same report also promised a Sam Raimi return to the director’s chair after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

So, can the Time Runs Out storyline as we know it still apply if Doctor Strange 3 is slotted after the end of the multiverse saga, considering it deals with parallel dimensions and incursions? Or could this film come out in between the two Avengers films, a la Captain Marvel in 2019? Maybe the MCU is just borrowing the title?

Is Doctor Strange 3 being replaced by the Scarlet Witch movie? 495449

Also in a recent Production Weekly report, there was a listing for an (unconfirmed) Scarlet Witch movie, led by Elizabeth Olsen and written by WandaVision and Agatha All Along creatives Jac Schaeffer and Megan McDonnell, with a status note that simply read “2026.” Could that be its release year and not its production start date?

It would make sense for Marvel to fast-track a Scarlet Witch film in order to bank on the popularity of Agatha All Along and the so-called “Wandaverse.” Wanda has been slowly but surely becoming the most popular character among the MCU’s fanbase, thanks not only to Olsen’s striking performance but also to the former Avenger’s deeply emotional and well-developed arc. Who knew focusing on characters and not simply what happens to them could be so effective?

Whatever Marvel has planned, it seems Doctor Strange 3 is still very much happening, we might just have to wait a little longer for it.

Three words but at least seven days of agonizing anticipation. ]]>
<![CDATA[

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along episode 7.

To quote another Marvel magic-, Agatha All Along is in the endgame now. The show’s seventh episode suitably ramped up the stakes as yet another character died and another one had their true identity revealed. As we’ve come to expect from the WandaVision spinoff, however, it’s the little things that really get the fans in a tizzy. And this time the things are very little, as just three words out of Kathryn Hahn’s mouth had the power to detonate a bomb in the Scarlet Witch-loving fandom.

Episode 7 picks up from last week’s Wiccan-centric episode, with Agatha and Billy/William/Billiam still talking through the big reveal that he’s actually Wanda Maximoff’s son. “Is she really dead">that long-rumored Scarlet Witch movie. If Agatha concludes with a promise that Wanda will return for her very own cinematic vehicle then all this cruel toying with our emotions will be forgiven. Otherwise, Marvel, you won’t want to see us when we’re unreasonable.

How dare you?]]>
<![CDATA[

After we finally found out what has been going on with Billy Maximoff over the last three years in episode 6 of Agatha All Along, the anticipation for this week’s episode was through the roof. But, while the path to a Wanda Maximoff return may have appeared straightforward now that her son is back in the picture, Marvel and series creator Jac Schaeffer have other plans, and fans aren’t happy.

In a conversation that teetered between contempt and solidarity, Billy and Agatha got to discuss their newfound information about one another. When the witch asked him whether he was on the road just to get close to her and get more information about his mom aka her “ex-best friend,” Billy countered with “I’ll get what I want at the end of the road. And she’s not my mom. I have a mom.”

As you can imagine, Wanda fans were not pleased with this disrespect, especially after all that the Scarlet Witch went through in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to get her children back. “Did this boy really just say Wanda isn’t his mom after this lady destroyed all of Kamar-taj looking for him and his brother??? the AUDACITY,” one fan protested.

Others ed in with various versions of internet memes where at least one person is outraged and another is getting whacked. “PLEASE DONT PISS ME OF BILLY,” “BILLY WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU!,” and “WATCH THAT ——- TONE BOY!,” Agatha All Along viewers screamed.

Most were heartbroken that Billy and Wanda’s stories had led them to this moment when neither of them ever really had a choice. The line may hurt to hear for those who witnessed his mother’s suffering in her last two Marvel Cinematic Universe outings, but it is a completely understandable thing for Billy to say. After all, he is still struggling with his identity after his body was chosen as a vessel for Billy to be reincarnated when its previous owner, William Kaplan, died in a car crash tangentially caused by the implosion of Wanda’s Hex spell on Westview.

We know that Billy has no memory of his life pre-crash, whether as Wanda’s son or as Rebecca Kaplan’s son. Still, the latter, played by Orange Is the New Black‘s Maria Dizzia in the show, is the person who has been raising him for the past three years, and the former is the one responsible for turning his life upside down, however intentionally. It’s normal to host some resentment about that.

Most importantly, that comment from Billy doesn’t tell the whole story because, seconds after, he asked Agatha whether “Wanda Maximoff” (he used her full name just to further drive the point home) was really dead. The witch began by saying “yes” only to correct herself with a mischievous “no,” and eventually settling on a vague “maybe.” Although it may not sound like it, that’s the clearest answer we’ve had in ages about Wanda’s status, and it’s making us optimistic that those rumors about a Scarlet Witch solo movie may materialize. In the meantime, could we expect an appearance from the queen of the MCU at the end of the Witches’ Road?

We’ll find out when the last two episodes of Agatha All Along hit Disney Plus, Oct. 30.
