No, 'Friends' did not make the cut.]]>
<![CDATA[

In honor of International Friendship Day, we will be ing television at its very best. Instead of torrid romances and drama that typically saturates the airwaves and streaming platforms, we are gathering a list of television’s best friendships that make viewers believe the best in people. This is a tall order and surprisingly enough, not as easy as it seems. 1w3bv

Despite the aptly named NBC series, Friends actually doesn’t have healthy depictions of friendships at all. Much of the humor comes at the expense of their alleged friendly dynamic. Everyone thinks Pheobe (Lisa Kudrow) is weird. No one accepts Ross’ (David Schwimmer) interests. Monica (Courteney Cox) is jealous of Rachel (Jennifer Aniston). Chandler (Matthew Perry) makes fun of Joey’s (Matt LeBlanc) intelligence – or lack thereof. There is no room for friendship dynamics in name only here. Instead, this list will contain the truest and most ive forms of friendship, from the obscure ones we may have forgotten to duos we just can’t get enough of.

1. Kirk and Spock — Star Trek: The Original Series 4u4x4i

Starting out strong, the ultimate friendship that comes to mind is one of television’s most iconic duos. A friendship repeated throughout film and television in many variations, the relationship between Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) was one of television’s first friendships that remains in the pop culture zeitgeist. Beginning in the first run of Star Trek: The Original Series in 1966, Kirk and Spock began the archetype for opposites attract. The captain of the Enterprise is accustomed to rule-breaking and never believes in a no-win scenario. His first science officer is the opposite, always looking for a logical answer. Together it seems that two could not be any different, but their affection spans the stars and decades of storytelling.

When it counts, Kirk and Spock will do anything for the other. In one of the most moving story arcs, Spock sacrifices himself because the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. He submits to radiation poisoning to save the crew and his best friend in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. This exact scenario is reversed in Star Trek: Into Darkness, proving that in any timeline, Kirk and Spock will always choose to die for each other. The friendship has outlasted Shatner and Nimoy’s depictions many times over. The most recent actors playing Kirk and Spock belong to Paul Wesley and Ethan Peck respectively in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Though the two are just beginning their iconic friendship, there is no doubt that a new generation of Trek fans will fall in love with these two.

2. Meredith and Cristina — Grey’s Anatomy 64b4z

For a series that has been on the air for almost two decades, Grey’s Anatomy is somehow still going strong. Turnover of the series’ original cast is high so that even the series’ titular character is taking her leave (at least for the time being). But don’t let that erase the original value of the series. Following the trials and tribulations of a group of doctors interning at Seattle Grace, Grey’s Anatomy has always been about Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Cristina (Sandra Oh). Though the two lead characters very quickly embark on romantic relationships with their bosses, the dynamic of the series has always revolved around their friendship. The surgical interns initially bond because of their shared ambition and wariness about opening up emotionally. As soon as the ice breaks, it’s pretty much confirmed that these two characters are soulmates. Both go through husbands and paramours, but their friendship is always constant.

So much so that one of the saddest moments of the show isn’t even necessarily Meredith losing Derek (Patrick Dempsey), but having to say goodbye to her best friend. At the end of season 10, Cristina officially says goodbye to run a medical research facility in Zurich. This marked the end of an era for the show as Meredith would have to continue without her rock. But as Meredith promises Cristina in one of their final moments together, this isn’t the end. Their love for each other has spanned a decade and will continue to do so, even with Oh leaving the series. They are each other’s person, and friendships like that last a lifetime.

3. Robin and Lily — How I Met Your Mother 2nz13

How I Met Your Mother may be from Ted’s (Josh Radnor) romantic and desperate perspective of trying to find a wife like a protagonist from some Jane Austen novel, but he is not a great friend at the end of the day. Even though Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) has been accepted into his circle of friends, Ted wastes no time making him feel like a second-class citizen. Ted prioritizes his romantic pursuits above all else, even when it hurts people around him. With that in mind, the honor of best friendship doesn’t go to any of the men in the series, but the women. Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) have an infinitely better relationship, particularly because it doesn’t involve Ted or his insistence that Robin is the love of his life.

Before Robin shows up, Lily is lost in a sea of her fiancé, Marshall’s (Jason Segel) friends. Though she counts Ted as one of her closest confidantes, she never had the benefit of female camaraderie. Ted’s pursuit of Robin allows Lily to finally have a female friend, and even when the relationship takes a turn for the worst, Robin is allowed to stay in the circle. When the men aren’t around, Lily and Robin have a close friendship full of and antics that could not exist otherwise. They never have falling outs, and even when they make unpopular decisions like Lily leaving Marshall at the end of season 1, they still each other implicitly.

4. Veronica and Wallace — Veronica Mars 60g2w

The little show that could on UPN may not have seemed like much when it premiered in 2004, but it helped catapult Kristen Bell into household stardom. She sold the series as the titular teen striving to solve the murder of her best friend. Armed with a tazer and an arsenal of quips, Veronica works at her father Keith’s (Enrico Colantoni) P.I. office where she cultivates her crime-solving skills. But that doesn’t stop her from encountering the same coming of age as any other teenager. In the seaside community of Neptune, California, Veronica has been an outcast ever since her father accused the Kane family of killing their daughter.

Veronica makes peace with being the town pariah until new kid Wallace Fennel (Percy Dags III) is accosted by the local teen biker gang. Though Veronica wants to keep out of the drama at first, she finds that she has more in common with Wallace than one might think. Both are outcasts in their own way with no one else to hang out with. Neither of them is in the tax bracket of most of the kids at Neptune High, and there is no friendship like one formed in the trenches of high school warfare. The two never even consider broaching romance and are there for each other platonically for the rest of their lives. Wallace has been there to defend Veronica’s honor and help her solve crimes ever since she cut him down from a flagpole the first day that they met. Through boyfriends and murder, Wallace is the one constant that Veronica has throughout her life.

5. J.D. and Turk — Scrubs 5m3619

A sitcom that had as many heartwrenching moments as laughs, Scrubs was the pinnacle of medical shows at the time. Though outlandish with many meta jokes and fantasy sequences, the medical aspects of the series were extremely close to reality. But the cherry on top of the Scrubs cake is the friendship between J.D. (Zach Braff) and Turk (Donald Faison). Starting as interns in the medical and surgical practices respectively, the series follows the two as they move up the ranks at Sacred Heart Hospital through relationships, professional pitfalls, and of course, the antagonism of Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley).

The friendship between J.D. and Turk is the foundation that the series is based on, and even though the two may (on the briefest of occasions) have minimal conflict, they are the one constant in each other’s lives. Their co-dependency is largely played for laughs, but also demonstrates the mark of real friendship: always being there to run in slow motion toward each other.

6. Seth and Ryan — The O.C. 4v5w28

The teen drama that all other shows in the genre measure themselves against, The O.C. was a pop culture phenomenon for a reason. On the surface, it may seem just the typical trappings of rich teens in the throes of unrelatable problems, but the series has heart at its gilded center. With a beautifully cultivated soundtrack of the early ’00s indie scene, The O.C. hones in on feelings of loneliness and being an outsider. Juvenile Ryan (Ben McKenzie) finds himself in a bad situation after his brother steals a car. His mother abandons him, and he has no one in the world but his public defender (Peter Gallagher). But Sandy has a heart of gold and brings him home for the weekend. What starts as a temporary situation turns into a moving story about family. Ryan meets Sandy’s intelligent but solitary son Seth (Adam Brody), who finds no one among his rich classmates to connect with.

He and Ryan bond and become brothers. The Cohens eventually adopt Ryan, which helps him reject the cycle of violence and crime in his hometown of Chino. The O.C. isn’t just about the wild antics of rich teenagers, but two characters who find each other when they need it most. Both become better for their relationship and can’t imagine their lives without each other. So much so that when Ryan has to move back to Chino, Seth is so distraught he runs away from home. Seth and Summer may be the ship heard around the world, but Seth and Ryan are the heartfelt glue that keeps fans coming back again and again.

7. Keeley and Rebecca — Ted Lasso 272j6t

The heartbreak of Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) not ending up with Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) is still fresh, but we at least have the assurance that Keeley and Rebecca will never cut ties. Where Ted Lasso fails at romance plots, they make up for it in the solitary female friendship of the series. Keeley starts off simply as the girlfriend of hotshot footballer Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster), but through that relationship she comes to befriend the owner of AFC Richmond, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham). As with most of the characters in the series, they all have growing up to do. Rebecca has to learn to move past her vengeance against her ex-husband, Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), while Keeley learns what it’s like to stand on her own two feet.

In the male-dominated industry of English football, their relationship is one of the most important. The two not only hold each other up, but also keep each other able. When they make mistakes, they move past them and encourage each other to be their best selves. In the world of television, this is not a common dynamic, and showing it in a silly comedy about a fish out of water makes it that much more important.

8. Shauna and Taissa — Yellowjackets 1n2z22

A series almost exclusively revolving around female characters is rare, and Yellowjackets has discovered how to explore the gritty depths of female friendship. There are many characters that have interesting dynamics in the show, but Shauna (Melanie Lynskey) and Taissa (Tawny Cypress) have a connection that spans decades, and are the least traumatized of the bunch. Not necessarily the closest when the plane carrying their high school soccer team goes down in the ‘90s, Shauna and Taissa bond through their shared grief and experience. Taissa is the first to learn that Shauna is pregnant when trapped in the Canadian wilderness and is her main system.

This continues into their adulthood, even when they are trying to keep a low profile about what happened in the woods. Because of crimes committed to ensure their survival, the Yellowjackets characters try to keep their ties under wraps. But as a blackmailer tries to manipulate the team, viewers see that bonds formed in high school still remain, especially when cannibalism is involved. Shauna and Taissa are the closest in adulthood, sharing details of their personal lives when it’s not necessary. And though these dynamics will never be completely without tension, they are the closest in the show to having a normal friendship dynamic.

9. Rick and Daryl — The Walking Dead 1q4oz

Trauma bonding is a common theme in television and no more so than in The Walking Dead. The decade-long show has seen the death of many characters, but throughout it all, there is a core dynamic that has kept many of them sane. When Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) first meet, they could not be more opposed. Daryl blames Rick for the disappearance and presumed death of his brother Merle (Michael Rooker), while the sheriff is just trying to keep their small group together during the zombie apocalypse.

But as things get worse for the group, the characters start to change. Rick becomes a more hardened version of himself, doing what is necessary to keep the people he loves alive. And without the toxic influence of his brother, Daryl realizes he can be a good person. He dispenses with the racist rhetoric that Merle taught him and becomes one of the most valued of the group. Rick and Daryl grow closer and come to understand each other implicitly. As Rick says, they’re brothers, which becomes especially difficult to accept when Lincoln leaves the show. Rick is presumed dead after an explosion on the bridge, and no one blames himself more than Daryl. He becomes emotionally isolated as the leadership of the group falls to a council, and he never stops looking for his friend. We can only hope that with the incoming spin-offs from The Walking Dead, the two will see each other again.

10. Jon and Sam — Game of Thrones 2r502z

In a show as bleak as Game of Thrones, levity is practically a requirement. Families are bound together through blood and vengeance, but the one corner of the show that is free from this is The Night’s Watch. After taking the black, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) retires from his former life and accepts a new band of brothers. The most significant of whom is Samwell Tarly (John Bradley), the most unlikely of recruits new to The Wall. Sam is weak where Jon is strong, and a coward where Jon is brave. But the two have the strongest friendship in the entire series.

Jon takes it upon himself to protect Sam and in turn, teach him what it takes to survive in this world. Throughout their time in The Night’s Watch, the two characters become as close as brothers. Jon shows an aptitude for leadership, and Sam finally finds a way to apply his book learning for good in the real world. He trains as a Maester and never gives up on Jon, even when it seems that the Northern bastard has left this plane of existence. Jon reaches his true potential after his assassination and returns from the dead. Through decisions good and bad, Sam is there for him, and Jon s him just as much.

Who wouldn't jump at the chance to play a mole alien in 'Star Wars?']]>
<![CDATA[

We’d all jump at the chance to appear in Star Wars in any capacity and that’s exactly what actor Zach Braff did when he was offered a small role as a creature in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Braff’s memorable character comes into the story in episode three when Kenobi and Leia arrive on the mining planet Mapuzo. He’s the mole-like alien named Freck that offers the pair a ride. He’s also quite friendly with the stormtroopers that are working on the planet too. Braff is most well known for his role as JD in Scrubs, although it’s unlikely fans of the show will recognise him as Freck.

Braff spoke more in depth about his character in an interview with SlashFilm, in which he described how he was approached for the role and what motivated him to take it. It turns out, Braff had a connection with series director Deborah Chow after starring in her first independent movie. When Chow landed the director job on the Disney Plus series, she offered the small creature role to Braff. Of course, like any sane human, he leapt at the chance to be a part of the Star Wars universe.

“… she said, ‘There’s not really a character for you in the series, but would you ever do a creature">

Freck survives the scuffle between Kenobi and the Stormtroopers, only being knocked out. So perhaps we could see him again if we ever get a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, although both seem quite unlikely at this point. However, even if we don’t see Freck ever again, Braff already mentioned that he could always return as a different character, maybe even a human one this time, as the audience haven’t seen his face.

T-Mobile might be responsible for one of the most incredible Super Bowl ads of all time, as John Travolta, Zach Braff, and Donald Faison forces to play neighbors in a residential area that’s entertainment-powered by the telecommunication giant. While the commercial itself is wowing fans ahead of the big game, Travolta’s commentary regarding everyone’s new favorite trio is where the magic really is.

Speaking to Variety, Travolta said that the dynamic born between the three is something that he isn’t ready to walk away from. In fact, the whole experience has inspired him to channel their energy and do something special with it.

“Chemistry cannot be created. It is or it isn’t. I love the dynamic between the three of us. It’s a special energy. Two women brought civil suits against Eric Weinberg.]]>
<![CDATA[

A former writer for Californication and Scrubs, who pled not guilty to 18 counts of criminal sexual misconduct, has been accused of rape by two more women in a civil suit.

Eric Weinberg, who was also an executive producer on Scrubs, is currently in custody after his $5 million bond was revoked, according to Deadline. The civil suits were filed late Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

One of the plaintiffs said Weinberg sexually assaulted her in 2019 in his L.A. home.

“Plaintiff C.D. suffered physical, emotional, and economic harm as a result of Weinberg’s assault, and brings this action for sexual assault, sexual battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence,” the filing said.

Weinberg reportedly “offered to help C.D. start a modeling career and booked her for a photo shoot, but once he had her alone on his property” he assaulted her. Micha Star Liberty, the lawyer for the two women, said it’s imperative that Weinberg be punished for his alleged acts.

“Eric Weinberg is a calculated, serial predator who targeted these women, and caused them immense trauma, mental anguish and physical harm. Weinberg must be held able to these women for his horrifying actions.”

Liberty said that she teamed up with the Gibbs Law Group to potentially bring more civil suits from more victims. Weinberg was originally arrested in July for alleged rapes from 2012 to 2019. Judge Victoria B. Wilson, who’s presiding over the case, said Weinberg “has engaged in a pattern of violence for at least six years.”

She also said he was a “serial rapist” and called him “brazen and predatory.” Deputy D.A. May Martinez, at a hearing in October, said Weinberg was a “danger to society” and “all females.”

Weinberg is facing allegations stemming back to the early 2000s.]]>

Warning: this article discusses alleged sexual assault

Eric Weinberg, who most famously worked as an executive producer of Scrubs, has been released on bail following yet another arrest, with 18 charges laid against him.

A long-time contributor to television, Weinberg was released on a $5 million bail despite the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office seeking to keep him in detention. A judge denied the request, and Weinberg was released from custody. The five-time Emmy-nominated writer and producer came into headlines following The Hollywood Reporter’s bombshell story which detailed a long-standing history of alleged sexual misconduct.

The report alleged Weinberg would use his Hollywood status to get young women (reportedly including minors) into sexual acts during supposed photography sessions. Weinberg is believed to have also taken photos of him having sex with the women without consent since the early 2000s.

The producer had been accused of sexual assault as well as stalking, with Weinberg first being arrested in 2014 for the alleged rape and assault of a 22-year-old woman. The allegation was thrown out by a Los Angeles district attorney, citing insufficient evidence.

Two years later authorities recommended charges against Weinberg but were again rejected following another non-consensual encounter, again citing lack of evidence. Arrested again in July 2022, the new charges will be taken to court.

Weinberg will be taken to civil court by an attorney, with Micha Star Liberty representing a group of accs. Liberty told The Hollywood Reporter she was grateful the claims were being taken seriously following their “life-altering” effects on the accs.

On behalf of my numerous clients, I am grateful and gratified that the Distinct Attorney’s office has acted swiftly with respect to Mr. Weinberg’s disgusting and damaging crimes that have forever altered the lives of his victims.

Weinberg is set for his arraignment on Oct. 25.

Warning: this article discusses alleged sexual assault

Eric Weinberg, executive producer most well known for his work on the early 2000s sitcom Scrubs, has been arrested on multiple sexual assault charges.

As reported by Deadline, the producer was arrested in relation to a series of rapes that took place between 2012 and 2019 according to police.

Right now Weinberg is reportedly being held on a bail set at $3.225 million after he was picked up from a home in Los Feliz earlier today. The investigation is expected to be handed over from the LAPD Detectives to the LA Country District Attorney’s office soon.

Deadline was given a statement via a spokesperson for LA DA George Gascon regarding the arrest.

“When the case is submitted, we will review it and determine if charges are appropriate.”

According to the report, LAPD shared some of the allegations which include raping multiple women after convincing them to take part in “a photo shoot”. He would allegedly meet these women in a variety of places such as “grocery stores, coffee shops, and other public places”.

Police also believe that Weinberg could have been responsible for similar alleged rapes dating back into the 1990s and are urging any victims or individuals will knowledge about any crimes to come forward.

Weinberg is best known for his work on Scrubs between 2001 and 2007, however, he has also worked on a variety of other TV projects including Anger Management, Veronica’s Closet, and more. During this TV run, the producer was nominated for five Emmy Awards.

Fans are now allowed to get their hopes up.]]>
<![CDATA[

The critically acclaimed sitcom Scrubs ran for a decade, melding light (and often fantastical) comedy with the harsh reality of the medical profession.

The show was well-received (except for that final season, which we will discount), and has since built an intense fandom who would love nothing more than to see their favorite doctors and nurses back in the titular getup. From what creator Bill Lawrence said at the ATX TV Festival over the weekend, a reboot may actually be in sight.

A well-attended Scrubs reunion was held at the festival, with show creator Lawrence featuring alongside cast Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Neil Flynn, who reminisced about their time on the show, but not without ing judgement on Braff and Faison’s incredibly popular podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald.

Lawrence thanked the audience for their continued of the show, saying, “We’re all so grateful any of you still care, it gives us an excuse to hang out together. We are happy to spend time with each other in any way.”

Of course, with a statement like that, it wasn’t long before the discussion of a reboot arose. As per Variety, all the cast are happy to get back into character. Still, with Lawrence so busy as co-creator of the immensely successful Ted Lasso amongst numerous other projects, any revival may not be done in the same format it once was, according to Faison.

“I think we all want it. We all would love to work together again. It’s just that it’s really hard. It can’t be a full season of a show — it would have to be a movie or something like that, where you could only give a couple of months to it. Everyone is doing things.”

It should be noted that Lawrence did it he was more than game for Scrubs 2.0.

“We’re gonna do it because we’re lucky enough that people care. Top to bottom, we enjoy spending time with each other. If you ever have an excuse to work with people that you’d want to spend time with anyways, run to it… It’s worth it to me to see Neil back in that jumpsuit again.”

Scrubs (NBC) Season 6, 2006-2007 Episode: My Perspective Airdate: February 15, 2007 Shown: Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, Zach Braff

A fan in the audience asked what the characters would be up to now, just over a decade on, to which Reyes immediately responded, “I think Turk and JD finally come out,” to jubilation and laughter from the room. There isn’t a solid plan for a revival right now, but with the cast and creator on board it might not be a pipe dream, although it shouldn’t be something we can expect any time soon given everyone’s hectic schedules.

This article contains spoilers for Obi-Wan Kenobi episode three

Obi-Wan Kenobi blew fans away this week with the much-hyped return of Darth Vader. With Hayden Christensen in the armor and James Earl Jones providing the booming voice, the Sith Lord squared off with a terrified Obi-Wan, with the student now effortlessly outclassing his former master.

That bout is guaranteed to dominate discussion of this episode, but there’s one curious aspect that has many fans scratching their heads. As the credits rolled, we saw who starred in the episode, with the cast listing unexpectedly including Scrubs‘ J.D., Zach Braff.

For whatever reason, this week’s credits didn’t feature a full cast list, so we don’t have confirmation on exactly who Braff played. However, a consensus seems to be building that he voiced the Empire-friendly mole-rat lookin’ truck driver Freck.

Others still can’t quite work out who he played:

One points out that Braff has a direct connection with this episode’s director, Deborah Chow:

It’s also possible that Braff voiced one of the Stormtroopers, though we doubt a cameo would warrant his name being included in the main cast list unless he actually played a named character.

Whatever the case, Freck seems like a one-and-done character. It’s perhaps a lesson to Leia that even if someone’s outwardly friendly and kind, don’t trust them for a second if they’re sporting the Imperial crest.

After Kumail Nanjiani in the last episode and Braff in this, we’re curious as to which random actors will pop up in the remaining episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi. We now have a week to wait for episode 4, which will air next Wednesday on Disney Plus.

The actor said he hopes a film would follow an actual version of the Dr. Acula screenplay his character dreamed of making. ]]>

Actor Zach Braff helped give the world Scrubs on NBC for nine years, and now the 47-year-old has described what a cinematic revival of the medical comedy series would look like, if he got his way.

“My dream storyline – I always say this every time a reporter asks me – is … you know how much they wanted to make their independent movie, Dr. Acula? My dream is that, somehow, they come into some money and they finally get a chance to execute their lifelong dream of being independent filmmakers and making the Dr. Acula Dracula movie.”

Braff made the comments while speaking to Looper Monday. In the aforementioned show, Braff’s character, J.D., had written a screenplay in which he played a vampire doctor. It was suggested in the series that the story had some promise, and it ultimately spawned a real New York-based band of the same name. While Braff is open to returning to his earlier role, we also reported last month that he was unsure if it would ever return, and recommended fans check out the Fake Doctors, Real Friends podcast he does with Donald Faison.

“For now we’re going to stick with our podcast – Fake Doctors, Real Friends – and if you’re not listening, please check it out. You can get it wherever you get your podcasts.”

If you want to watch Scrubs, it is available now on Hulu. If you want to catch some of Braff’s more recent work, his movie Cheaper by the Dozen is streaming on Disney Plus.

During a press tour for his latest film, 'Cheaper by the Dozen,' Zach Braff addresses any potential 'Scrubs' revival.]]>
<![CDATA[

Zach Braff has been promoting his recent film, Cheaper by the Dozen which is now available on Disney+. The film is a remake of the 1950 and 2003 films of the same name. However, most know him from his leading role as J.D in hit sit-com Scrubs, and in a recent interview with ComicBookMovie.com, he made it clear that just like us he had no clue whether the show would return.

The initial Scrubs format ended with season eight, seeing J.D leave Sacred Heart to be closer to his son, but the series was pushed for one more season in the form of Scrubs: Med School. Though many of the cast returned for this the format was not the same and fans of the show were not happy with it having been pushed to an extra season that felt unnecessary. Despite this, Braff still gets asked if there will be a revival:

I don’t know. I do get asked it every single day, even when I’m not doing a press junket.

Braff tells fans hoping for a return of the show:

For now, we’re going to stick with our podcast – Fake Doctors, Real Friends – and if you’re not listening, please check it out. You can get it wherever you get your podcasts.

The podcast sees real-life friends Braff and Donald Faison, discuss the show and their roles as best friends, J.D and Turk, one episode at a time.

Braff played the lead character J.D, a doctor at Sacred Heart Hospital. Though the sitcom is an ensemble show with a variety of main characters and fun side characters, it predominantly follows J.D’s journey from resident to talented physician under the scowling gaze of mentor Dr Cox.

He does give some potential hope though, continuing

I think one day, because there’s so much clamouring for it (which I’m so grateful for), that I imagine there will be some incarnation. Whether it’s a TV movie or limited series or something. We’ll do something.

For fans wanting to see more of the cast, there is also set to be a cast reunion at the ATX Television Festival. Braff’s newest film is breezy and family-friendly, telling the story of the blended Baker family as father Paul (Braff) tries to expand their breakfast diner restaurant. He can also be seen in other projects in front of behind the camera such as Garden State and Ted Lasso,

Catch Braff in his most recent project, Cheaper by the Dozen, which is now streaming on Disney+ where you can also find all episodes of Scrubs.

With the 12-year anniversary of 'Scrubs'' series finale approaching, the cast is set to appear at the ATX Television Festival in June.]]>
<![CDATA[

After nearly 12 years since the beloved sitcom left the air, the cast of Scrubs is scheduled to reunite on a recently announced at the ATX Television Festival.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn, and Christa Miller are all confirmed to appear in Austin, Texas, this summer. No word on if Scrubs creator and Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence will them.

Scrubs was a half-hour medical comedy sitcom that debuted on NBC in 2001 for seven seasons before ABC picked it up for an additional two seasons.

The series followed J.D. (Braff) and his two best friends, Turk (Faison) and Elliot (Chalke), as they each navigated life as medical interns at Sacred Heart Hospital. McGinley played the trio’s hard-nosed instructor, with Flynn playing the hospitals’ wacky janitor (and J.D.’s nemesis).

During its nine-season run, Scrubs received 17 Emmy nominations (with two wins), a Peabody Award, and 3 Humanitas Prizes. The critically acclaimed NBC show famously ended in 2008 with a finale that wrapped up the show’s storylines but was then brought back a year later on ABC and canceled soon after.

The cast was previously scheduled to appear at the 10-year anniversary of the series finale back in 2020, but the ATX Festival was postponed due to the pandemic. Instead, the Scrubs will be set alongside a Parenthood reunion and a Justified creative team reunion.

It is sure to be exciting to see everyone’s favorite bromance, Braff and Faison, back together again. The former co-stars have stayed close and co-host the Scrubs recap podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends.
