Iconic rapper Snoop Dogg was one of the performers at the Crypto Ball, an inaugural gala held a few days ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration. The event, which had approximately 1,500 attendees, celebrated the growing influence of the cryptocurrency industry in politics and culture.

Many were surprised to learn that the 53-year-old rapper agreed to perform in celebration of the newly-elected president given his outspoken criticism of Trump in the past. In his 2017 music video for the song “Lavender,” Snoop poked fun at Trump by depicting him as a clown and shooting him. The rapper also called out Trump and his ers during an interview, saying that anyone who ed him was a “motherf***ing racist.” In a 2020 interview on BigBoyTV, Snoop said that he had never voted in his life, but would likely vote in the 2020 elections because he couldn’t “stand to see this punk in office one more year.”

Just before leaving office in 2020, Trump pardoned Michael “Harry-O” Harris, who at that point had served 30 years of a life in prison sentence for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Harris co-founded Death Row Records, the very label that helped propel Snoop’s career and that he himself acquired in 2021. In Jan. 2024, Snoop was all praise for Trump and stated, “He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So, I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”

Which side does Snoop Dogg lean politically?

After his performance at the Crypto Ball, Snoop faced backlash from many of his fans, who criticized him for ing Trump. Many expressed their displeasure by unfollowing him across various social media platforms. Reports indicate that his X lost around 200,00 followers following his performance at the Crypto Ball, while his Instagram saw a drop of more than 570,000 followers. Despite the online hate, he still maintains a massive following, with 20.7 million followers on X and 88 million on Instagram.

The rapper, who was seemingly unbothered by all the hate, took to Instagram and posted a video of himself grooving to music while smoking. He addressed all his haters in the video.

“For all the hate, I’m going to answer with love. I love too much. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool. I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100 percent Black. All out ‘til you ball out, or ‘til you fall out.”

One of those who expressed his displeasure with Snoop’s response to the backlash was actor and comedian D.L. Hughley, who said that the rapper might be struggling with “inner turmoil.” “The 2025 version of you is at odds with the 2017 version of you. So it ain’t the us that gotta get it together, it’s the you,” Hughley said in his podcast.

Before the elections, Snoop didn’t endorse a candidate; however, he called that decision deliberate, as he doesn’t believe in “separating people.” “I believe in bringing us together… If you’re picking and choosing, now I gotta make people mad at me, because I chose this or chose that. I don’t choose neither one,” he stated, adding that he was neither for the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party, and instead represents the “motherf***ing gangster party.”

Snoop Dogg ing Donald Trump’s team is Elon Musk’s utopia, but is it a ‘vibe shift’ or just ‘succumbing to the latest power train?’ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/snoop-dogg-ing-donald-trumps-team-is-elon-musks-utopia-but-is-it-a-vibe-shift-or-just-succumbing-to-the-latest-power-train/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/snoop-dogg-ing-donald-trumps-team-is-elon-musks-utopia-but-is-it-a-vibe-shift-or-just-succumbing-to-the-latest-power-train/#respond Mon, 20 Jan 2025 09:01:47 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1826633 Oh no, not you too Snoop... ]]>

Someone is getting played — whether it’s the fans, artists, or President Trump himself. It remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure: someone is being disingenuous. As the list of performers for Trump’s inauguration slowly emerges, the musicians who’ve confirmed their attendance have been met with confusion and disappointment. But no one expected that Snoop Dogg, of all people, would also make the list.

Snoop spent much of Trump’s first term critiquing not just Trump’s often racist and xenophobic rhetoric but also his ers. Back then, Snoop didn’t mince words when expressing his disdain for President Trump. USA Today reported on a visit he made to Sirius XM studios, where he called Trump a racist and declared that even when the always controversial Kanye West ed him, Snoop Dogg would also turn his back on him. Snoop didn’t stop there. He released an album and a now-deleted video for his song Lavender (Nightfall Remix), where he shoots a clown meant to mock the president, prompting an actual response from Trump’s active Twitter at the time.

So it’s no surprise that fans were stunned when Snoop not only walked back his previous comments but also became a key performer at the Crypto Ball pre-inauguration party, entertaining major Trump donors from the cryptocurrency community. One highlighted the stark contrast between Snoop’s past and present stances, and Elon Musk, never one to miss a post on X, commented, calling it a major “vibe shift.”

There are several reasons why people might be cosplaying as Trump ers. In the 2020 election, Trump pardoned rappers Lil Wayne and Kodak Black in exchange for their in a demographic he had completely lost at the time. There’s also speculation that Snoop is performing for Trump because of the latter’s pardon of his former business partner, Michael “Harry-O” Harrison, from the prime days of Death Row Records in the 1990s.

Many s on X were quick to point out the likely reasons behind Trump and Snoop’s reunion, some commenting under Musk’s post, claiming it’s a matter of self-preservation.

Another described it as just the latest example of someone succumbing to whatever power train is currently in motion, no matter where it leads.

A more cynical commenter speculated that Trump might have bribed Snoop.

These are answers we’ll only get when both parties have nothing left to gain or lose from this clear marriage of convenience. It’s worth ing that just days before the election, Trump made his now-definitive appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where he mentioned that some people behind the scenes told him they only pretended to hate him to further their careers. He never specified who he was talking about, but it now seems that Snoop might be likely one of the candidates. But if people around him can pretend to hate him, then they can certainly pretend to like him too. For Elon Musk and his cohorts, however, it’s clear that all they care about is perception. This apparent “vibe shift” will be enough for them.

Will Snoop Dogg perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/will-snoop-dogg-perform-at-donald-trumps-inauguration/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/will-snoop-dogg-perform-at-donald-trumps-inauguration/#respond Tue, 14 Jan 2025 17:46:42 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1824393 Let's hope for "no"?]]>

Jan. 20, 2025 is fast approaching, and while for many it will be another dreary winter day that leaves them wishing summer would get here already, it’s also Donald Trump‘s inauguration day. People are finding out which singers are performing… and confused that some, like Carrie Underwood, have agreed.

Snoop Dogg is one name who is being floated around as a potential performer. But is that true? How does Martha Stewart’s BFF feel about Trump, and is he going to appear at this anticipated event?

Is Snoop Dogg performing at Donald Trump’s inauguration?

Snoop Dogg isn’t performing at the inauguration of Trump on Jan. 20. However, he is performing at an event a few days before. According to Politico, sources who are involved with organizing say that Snoop Dogg is going to perform at the Crypto Ball on Friday Jan. 17, 2025.

Anyone familiar with Snoop Dogg and Trump’s history might be surprised that he is performing at any event that has to do with the incoming president. According to USA Today, the rapper included a clown that looked like Trump in his music video “Lavendar (Nightfall Remix)” back in 2017. That would have been telling enough, but then Snoop Dogg aimed a gun at Trump in the video. Trump wasn’t pleased (to say the least) and, instead of keeping his thoughts to himself, shared his reaction on Twitter.

Then, in 2020, Snoop Dogg said, “I ain’t never voted a day in my life, but this year I think I’m going to get out and vote because I can’t stand to see this punk in office one more year.” But now that Trump is about to take office again, Snoop Dogg said of Trump, “He ain’t done nothing wrong to me” and praised Trump for pardoning Death Row label co-founder Michael Harris.

However, if Snoop Dogg’s fans are taking his decision to perform at the Crypto Ball as evidence that he’s a Republican or that he’s fully on board with Trump, he doesn’t want people to think that. In Nov. 2024, he posted online that he chose not to endorse Trump or Kamala Harris and told his fans, “I don’t believe in separating people. I believe in bringing us together.”

Sure, Snoop Dogg isn’t the first person to say that they’re against “division” and taking sides. That argument is getting a bit lame, though. When one party is anything but decent and caring and shows their true colors day in day out, well, isn’t showing even a bit of for that party taking sides? If Snoop Dogg really had an issue with Trump, it’s hard to believe he would agree to perform at the Crypto Ball. But, hey, Snoop Dogg is super into NFTs and crypto, so maybe that’s the reason he was drawn to this event.

Besides wondering why exactly anyone would want to perform anywhere near Trump, perhaps a better question is why a Crypto Ball needs to happen at all? Each ticket costs $100,000, which is wild when you imagine what that money could be used for. Also, if you want four tickets and have a spare $1 million, you can have dinner with Trump another time. No thanks! Speaking of “separating” people, there are definitely people who are all about crypto and those who want nothing to do with it, and I’m glad to be in the latter camp.

Justin Timberlake’s sci-fi film ‘In Time’ is getting its own ‘Fortnite’ game all thanks to Snoop Dogg https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/gaming/justin-timberlakes-sci-fi-film-in-time-is-getting-its-own-fortnite-game-all-thanks-to-snoop-dogg/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/gaming/justin-timberlakes-sci-fi-film-in-time-is-getting-its-own-fortnite-game-all-thanks-to-snoop-dogg/#respond Fri, 13 Dec 2024 11:41:02 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1809581 Nobody saw this coming.]]>

Fortnite just keeps getting weirder, whether that is through the hundreds of new skins based on real people and pop culture characters, or the new Counter-Strike-inspired tactical shooter mode. However, its weirdest addition yet might be still to come.

The 2011 Sci-fi film In Time starring Justin Timberlake is getting its own Fortnite game as part of a major deal struck between Snoop Dogg’s company Death Row Games and New Regency, the owners of In Time and several other movies and shows.

While In Time might be the first of New Regency’s films getting this treatment, the announcement says that there will be more from the company’s film library jumping across to the gaming space in the future.

As you may have already guessed, this game title was developed using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), so it will look and feel just like other games developed inside the Epic Games engine. In Time is being championed as “a natural fit for the dynamic UEFN platform delivering fans an unparalleled AAA gaming experience.”

While that sounds great, it’s a complete mystery as to who asked for this game. Released in 2011, In Time was not a hit, and it really hasn’t aged well. Right now the movie has a tragic 36 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes with a slightly more impressive 51 percent audience score. That doesn’t scream “film worth bringing to Fortnite” to us, but perhaps we’re wrong, we’ll have to wait and see how the fans receive it.

If In Time isn’t something that interests you, then the good news is that New Regency does have quite a larger library of films to draw upon with future projects. Among them are hits like Fight Club, The Revenant, and Birdman, so there is potential for other more interesting projects to be crafted in the future.

Death Row Games CEO Cardell Broadus shared a statement with Variety praising New Regency’s film library and sharing insight into the creation process for these projects.

New Regency has produced some of my favorite films, so working with Yariv [Milchan] and his team has been seamless. They understand that UEFN is at the heart of the creator economy. When we built the Tee Grizzley map, we wanted to depict spaces that resonate emotionally with our culture. This partnership allows us to bring that same authenticity to the Fortnite world and ensure cultural representation within IP integration.”

Fortnite continues to grow, recently receiving its most ambitious mode to date, Balistic — a competitive shooter in the style of Counter-Strike. Additions like this prove how versatile the Unreal Engine Fortnite platform is, so don’t be surprised if you see more unique games using these tools in the future.

According to Variety, the new In Time game mode will be added to Fortnite on Thursday, Dec. 12, so if you on Friday you should be able to try it yourself. Fortnite is free to and play on all platforms, including mobile and PC.

Did a ‘Voice’ singer’s emotional song really reduce Snoop Dogg to tears? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/did-a-voice-singers-emotional-song-really-reduce-snoop-dogg-to-tears/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/did-a-voice-singers-emotional-song-really-reduce-snoop-dogg-to-tears/#respond Wed, 13 Nov 2024 18:06:34 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1790794 "That's real music, that's real singing."]]>

Warning: This article contains spoilers for season 26 of The Voice

Snoop Dogg’s team has been dominating this season of The Voice, and the first night of Knockouts showed why these singers are a force to be reckoned with. Though all of team Snoop knocked it out of the park, one singer’s performance brought the coaches to tears — including Snoop Dogg himself.

Austyns Stancil gave an emotional performance of the Luther Vandross song “Dance With My Father” and explained why he chose the song to Snoop and guest Mega Mentor Sting. “Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of my father’s death,” he shared, prompting Snoop to give Stancil a big hug.

Snoop encouraged Stancil to sing the song in honor of his father but to hold back his tears during the performance. After singing for the two men, Snoop was visibly moved to tears — Sting, while not visibly crying, joked he was “on the inside” but couldn’t show his emotions because “you know, I’m British.”

Snoop is no stranger to the grief of losing a parent after his mother died in 2021. When Stancil asked Snoop how he managed to perform while grieving, the coach shared that he did break down on stage once after his mother’s death. “After that, I never cried again on stage for my mama, because I know that’s what she wanted me to do,” he told Stancil about his decision to keep performing in her memory. “When she was here, I made her proud. I’m going to keep making her proud.”

Later in the episode, Stancil sang the song in front of the other coaches, moving Reba McEntire and Snoop to tears, and earning a standing ovation from Michael Bublé and Gwen Stefani. “It’s amazing how healing music is,” McEntire said after the performance. “Your dad’s not with us, my dad’s not with us. So this is a song that, yeah, goes to the heart. Very powerful.” Stefani complimented Stancil’s vocal performance while Bublé told Stancil and fellow team Snoop Christina Eagle and Jake Tankersley that they were “a perfect example of why Snoop is great for The Voice.”

Bublé further complimented Stancil, saying “you need to be special” to sing a Luther Vandross song. “If I was Snoop, I would probably have to pick you.” Snoop did pick Stancil as the winner of the Knockout after he was moved by his performance and character. “Austyns was the winner based off spirit, personality, and how he composed himself to hold in all of that pain and all of that loss to give us a great performance,” Snoop said of his decision. “You can’t stop emotion when emotion hits you. Tears start falling, chills on your back — that’s real music, that’s real singing.”

Snoop was especially fortunate during this Knockout, as his team finished the episode essentially unscathed. Although she would have survived the night regardless after the other coaches turned their chairs to steal her, Snoop chose to save Eagle. Eagle gave a powerful performance of Marin Morris’ “My Church,” winning over the rest of the coaches after only Snoop chose her during the Blind Auditions. Tankersley, who sang Luke Combs’ “Going, Going, Gone,” was then saved by Stefani.

Bublé was right about Snoop being great for The Voice if only because he’s such a joy to watch. The man was positively giddy to see all of his team survive the night, telling the coaches that his team doesn’t really leave, “they just switch locations.” His enthusiasm and love for the contestants is infectious and brings some much-needed light during this past week

‘That’s a confession!’ Chilling remark from Diddy in old interview resurfaces amid his trafficking allegations https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/thats-a-confession-chilling-remark-from-diddy-in-old-interview-resurfaces-amid-his-trafficking-allegations/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/thats-a-confession-chilling-remark-from-diddy-in-old-interview-resurfaces-amid-his-trafficking-allegations/#respond Tue, 22 Oct 2024 13:21:10 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1772856 Diddy may have dug his own grave with those three little words.]]>

Sean “Diddy” Combs has maintained his innocence in the sex trafficking and and racketeering allegations filed against him. But some think that this old video of him sharing what his final words would be before he dies is a foreshadowing of his unfortunate fate in jail.

The video comes courtesy of VH1’s Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party taken in October 2017. The Bad Boy Records founder, 54, along with his former protege Usher, and La La Anthony, sat down with hosts Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg for a quick game, in which they each had to read and answer what was written on a card. Stewart explained:

Everyone at this table has been forced to make tough decisions and today, it doesn’t get any easier. I’m going to ask you some more difficult things. In front of me we have a stack of cards that contain a scenario with a missing piece. You’ll have to make the tough decision to fill in the blanks.

Snoop picked up the deck for Diddy to read saying, “Diddy, that’s on you nephew, take the top card.” The rapper read his card out loud, “When I die I want my last words to be…” A quick pause for thought and he answered without hesitation:

I did it.

He then threw the card in the air and put his hands up as everyone, except Usher, cheered and clapped at his response. The 46-year-old “Burn” singer, who sat across from his former mentor at the table, didn’t seem impressed.

It’s unclear what Diddy meant when he said “I did it.” He could be referencing to how he achieved his fame and success in the music and entertainment industry. His former publicist Rob Shuter, who was under his employ from 2002 to 2004, recently revealed that Combs “was obsessed with power and staying famous.” The Harlem-born rapper could also be referring to how he has helped several artists achieve stardom through his record label.

There’s a lot to be gleaned from those three little words. But the video resurfaced amid the rapper’s legal woes. Aside from the sex trafficking and racketeering allegations, he has also been accused of sexually molesting minors as young as nine years old.

His saying, “I did it,” now takes on a horrifying meaning in the context of its probability of being connected to his alleged crimes. The online chatter about its relevance to his predisposition also couldn’t be any different.

One wrote on TikTok, “That’s a confession” and another chimed in, “his didn’t age well.” One more said, “Welp…there you go” and a fourth quipped, “We know you did! That’s the problem.” Over at X, one commented: “So he is pretty much itting that he knew what he was doing was wrong, but he didn’t care anyway he just wanted to do.”

Diddy’s legal team has called the allegations “meritless” and that the situation has turned into a “reckless media circus.” His attorney, Erica Wolff, stated: “Mr. Combs emphatically and categorically denies as false and defamatory any claim that he sexually abused anyone, including minors. He looks forward to proving his innocence and vindicating himself in court, where the truth will be established based on evidence, not speculation.” Diddy was arrested on Sept. 16 and is now booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York awaiting federal trial.

Snoop Dogg did the morning weather report with Al Roker and you may never see above-average highs like this again https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/snoop-dogg-did-the-morning-weather-report-with-al-roker-and-you-may-never-see-above-average-highs-like-this-again/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/snoop-dogg-did-the-morning-weather-report-with-al-roker-and-you-may-never-see-above-average-highs-like-this-again/#respond Thu, 17 Oct 2024 22:28:10 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1770724 Snoop always sets a high bar for TV reportage.]]>

Rapper turned temporary morning TV Star, Snoop Dogg, appeared on the Today show and added some high class while co-hosting the final hour. The biggest impression he left, however, was as a weatherman.

Snoop Dogg became one of the most talked about people at the Paris Olympics thanks to working — if it can be called that — for NBC. He was the ultimate laid back entertainer, enjoying the events and trying out some new things, and social media couldn’t get enough of the rap icon, even when Simone Biles‘ mom reminded him live on air that he once decided not to give Simone an autograph, way back when.

From the Olympics to the Today show, Snoop Dogg was ready for another memorable appearance on NBC. Before co-hosting, he revealed that he will likely be at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, but also took a moment to give us the weather alongside Al Roker.

As you’d expect, this wasn’t a typical weather segment but not just because Snoop was the weatherman, rather because Al Roker decided that the map needed to be, well, up to Snoop’s high standards. Usually, when Roker does the national weather map segment, there are random cities listed on it. So, for this one, Roker made sure to choose very specific cities for Snoop. Indeed, the map showed temperatures across the country for cities such as Weed, California, and Stoner, Colorado.

Snoop, a well-known friend of all things cannabis, was happy to see the twist to the map, and began rattling off the temperatures for cities such as Mary Jane Falls, Smoke Rise, High Point, Pottsville, and Blunt.

Snoop’s favorite part of the map was the area listed with “Above Average Highs.”

Snoop Dogg is far from being the first celebrity weatherman, even for the Today show. Perhaps the most memorable celebrity guest to do the weather was Larry David, partly because he criticized Al Roker’s glasses and barely did the weather while teasing Roker about how easy it is to do the weather.

In addition to the Today show, there have been some memorable celebrity weathermen for other shows and some are rather hysterical.

Take for instance Tom Hanks, who may have the most bizarre appearance as a weatherman when he was on Univision in 2011 and did awkward dances with the weatherwoman. There was no special weather map for Hanks and none required.

The most out-of-nowhere celebrity to do the weather is Chris Hemsworth.

He once made such a spontaneous appearance on Australia’s version of Today that the hosts were floored that he was live on their show doing the weather.

The best celebrity weatherman might just be King Charles when he was just a prince, back in 2012.

Prince Charles was a very special guest on BBC Scotland. Unlike the outrageous appearances of others noted above, Prince Charles was perfect, distinguished, and seemed so classy that he could’ve taken the job if he wanted to.

His weather forecast was filled with rain so, realizing he wasn’t exactly the bearer of good news, he finished his segment by saying, “Thank God it isn’t a bank holiday.”

Regardless of who does weather, the weather itself won’t change so maybe more celebrity weathermen and weatherwomen would be a good thing and make us watch instead of just checking the weather on our phones. Apologies to Al Roker.

One thing about Snoop Dogg is that he’s always going to have a good time wherever he is. He proved that on Sunday when he showed up as a guest to the Steelers game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Oct. 6, causing a scene in the best way possible.

The rapper, known for his several life side-quests, attended the Steelers-Cowboys game in Pittsburgh yesterday decked out from head to toe in Steelers swag. While Snoop’s NFL affiliations have hardly been a secret, some fans were still surprised to see the West Coast legend going all out for the Pittsburgh team. But whether he’s cheering at a football game, or selling ice-cream, Snoop’s going to bring his signature swag along with him.

Snoop Dogg’s appearance at the Steelers-Cowboys game

The rapper showed up at Acrisure Stadium in full black and yellow from his Steelers and Snoop emblazoned jacket to his branded shirt, yellow and black pants, and even bright yellow Steelers shoes. Fans online loved his outfit and his unapologetic representation of the team he s. He spent time interacting with the crown and charging them up before the game started. As kickoff was pushed back due to a storm, fans had more time to spend with Snoop.

He engaged in his usual shenanigans, which he is now known for after his memorable and viral time attending the Olympics. Before the game began, Snoop took on the role of pregame “Towel Twirler,” and twirled the Steelers Terrible Towel, a memorable symbol for both the team and the city. The team also made sure to play some of Snoop’s music at the start of the game. So, has Snoop Dogg always been a Steelers fan, or did he suddenly Steelers Nation">

Well, in the 70s, watching your dad and watching the Steelers and the Raiders and the Cowboys and the teams from the 70s, I fell in love with their great defense, the way they moved the ball, just the way they played football in general. It was fun to watch as a kid and as I became an adult, I fell more in love with them because I got a chance to meet the players. I got to meet Coach Cowher and Ben Roethlisberger, you know, Jerome Bettis and the rest of the guys and, you know, I became a part of Steelers Nation.

Snoop also talked about his experience coaching football, as well as his approach to teaching kids how to play. The California native is very ionate about youth sports and talked about how he likes to let the kids have fun and how he doesn’t only teach them but learns from them. Snoop Dogg runs a Youth Football League in California which he founded in 2005. As of 2024, the league has produced 12 NFL players including the current Rookie of the Year, C.J. Stroud, Green Bay Packers’ Keisean Nixon, and Las Vegas Raiders’ Jack Jones.

‘Snoop dogg just be doing musical side quests’: Resurfaced footage of Snoop’s most epic collab proves why it became ‘the song of the summer for 14 years’ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/news/snoop-dogg-just-be-doing-musical-side-quests-resurfaced-footage-of-snoops-most-epic-collab-proves-why-it-became-the-song-of-the-summer-for-14-years/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/news/snoop-dogg-just-be-doing-musical-side-quests-resurfaced-footage-of-snoops-most-epic-collab-proves-why-it-became-the-song-of-the-summer-for-14-years/#respond Wed, 21 Aug 2024 12:31:56 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1741808 Snoop Dogg brought his A-game for this "bikinis, zucchinis, martinis" summer song!]]>

Let’s take a trip down memory lane for this one: think back to 2010 when Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg dropped the chart-topping hit “California Gurls.” Did your feet immediately start tapping when you heard the summertime song and Perry’s cheeky lyrics? Or was it Snoop’s verse that won you over? The track did something right because it landed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 (Perry’s recent song has not enjoyed the same success), but how much work went on behind the scenes?

Snoop is a serious musician, but he is also a bit of a comedian, so you may think he was messing around a bit when he was writing and recording his verse. However, a throwback TikTok video posted by katyperrycrave shows how the rapper approached this project, and he was all business (with a blunt in hand). The short clip shows him listening to Perry’s lyrics (and jamming) and then recording his part. The text onscreen reads, “Snoop Dogg listening to California Gurls for the first time and then recording his verse is too nostalgic.”

TikTok katyperrycrave captioned their post with the simple message, “most iconic collab.” Many people agree with this assessment, and fans are hyped about the video.

Fans react to Snoop Dogg recording his verse for California Gurls

The post’s comment section is filled with remarks about how Snoop Dogg brought his A-game! “I love how snoop dogg just be jumping on anything,” a comment reads. Another shared similar thoughts, writing, “love how he just sneaks zucchini into there.”

Other comments include “snoop dogg just be doing musical side quests,” “snoop dogg is sooooo hard for this i finding out about him bc of this song,” and “Song of the summer for 14 years.” You have to agree! Even if you haven’t heard this jam for over a decade, it just brings your right back to those good days!

Snoop Dogg’s political views, explained https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/snoop-doggs-political-views-explained/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/snoop-doggs-political-views-explained/#respond Tue, 13 Aug 2024 10:52:22 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1738287 The rapper has regularly weighed into politics over the course of his career..]]>

As the 2024 presidential election race heats up, both the Republican and Democratic campaigns are leveraging celebrities to push their message and endorse their parties.

The GOP last month tapped Amber Rose to advocate for Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, while Kamala Harris’ campaign enlisted the likes of Megan Thee Stallion and Quavo at a recent event in Atlanta. One celebrity whose endorsement might also be sought-after by both campaigns is Snoop Dogg

The rapper — who just completed an iconic run as an NBC Olympics correspondent — hasn’t been shy about weighing into politics in the past. Over the years, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” singer has seemingly changed his political views, and his thoughts on the current presidential race have not yet been revealed.

So, as more celebrities continue to throw their behind each campaign, do we know exactly where Snoop Dogg stands?

For most of his career in the spotlight, Snoop Dogg has advocated for policies and candidates that largely align with the Democratic Party. In 2012, for example, he publicly revealed he would be voting for Barack Obama over Mitt Romney in that year’s election. Years later, in 2017, Snoop Dogg featured on the song “Lavender”, which was accompanied by a music video that parodied then-President Donald Trump as a clown.

At the time of that song’s release, Snoop Dogg described Trump as “a motherf***er” and compared the Republican Party’s policies to “a lot of clown sh*t.” In response, Trump wrote on social media that Snoop Dogg’s was in the midst of a “failing career.” Then, in 2020, Snoop Dogg revealed in an interview that he would again be voting for the Democratic Party, since he “can’t stand to see this punk [Trump] in office one more year.”

However, the rapper’s views on Trump seemed to soften in the years that followed. When asked about his thoughts on Trump in 2024, Snoop Dogg said he “has done only great things for me,” citing the former President’s pardoning of Michael Harris. For context, Harris co-founded Death Row Records, the label that first signed Snoop Dogg for the release of his debut album.

“[Trump] ain’t done nothing wrong to me… he pardoned Michael Harris,” Snoop Dogg said. “I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.” While the rapper’s U-turn in his thoughts on Trump caused backlash among fans, Snoop Dogg remained coy about whether he’d Trump or then-Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

“I may have to,” Snoop Dogg said when asked if he’d endorse either candidate. “There are mixed views on that, so I want to see what the people say.”

What happened when Snoop Dogg was put on trial for first-degree murder? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/what-happened-when-snoop-dogg-was-put-on-trial-for-first-degree-murder/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/what-happened-when-snoop-dogg-was-put-on-trial-for-first-degree-murder/#respond Tue, 06 Aug 2024 20:01:51 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1735773 Singing "murder murder, kill, kill" doesn't look good when you're on trial for doing just that.]]>

Nowadays, Snoop Dogg might be known for his penchant for marijuana, his wine, or his adorable friendship with Martha Stewart, but back in the 90s, the rapper was considered far less wholesome.

Arrested for a murder he didn’t commit in 1993, Snoop’s trial took three years to come to fruition. When it did, Snoop’s nonchalance, his many famous friends, and the horrendous way the Los Angeles Police Department handled the case made the trial one of the books.

Why was Snoop Dogg on trial for murder?

Music journalist, Jake Brennan described Snoop Dogg’s circumstances perfectly when he said, “No matter how high Snoop climbed, the gravity of the streets would always pull him back down. The streets were his world. He was in no hurry to leave them behind, despite his success.”

The rapper was embroiled in gang activity and was a well-known member of the Crips, even while also being a serious and respected musician. One August afternoon in 1993, of a rival gang were eating outside of Snoop’s apartment, and without thinking he rolled his topless Jeep up next to them.

His bodyguard, McKinley Lee, aka Malik, was in the enger seat, and as the Jeep rolled to a stop, Phillip Woldermariam, a gang member who went by Little Smooth, leaped to his feet. As the two men attempted to menace their rivals, Woldermariam reached for his weapon. Seeing the movement, Malik grabbed his own weapon and quickly fired at Woldermariam. Snoop and his friends sped away in the Jeep, and as Brennan explains it, “ [Snoop], Malik and Sean went into hiding. Phillip Woldermariam went into the afterlife, died on the scene, face down in the streets.”

What happened at Snoop Dogg’s trial?

Snoop Dogg turned himself in a few days later, declaring his innocence as he did. Snoop waited until after the 1993 VMAs to turn himself in, but despite the short wait, his trial wouldn’t go before a judge until 1995. The rapper appeared in court surrounded by his colleagues and friends, and his wife, Shante Taylor. A who’s who of rising music legends, like Tupac Shakur, MC Hammer, and Devante Swing accompanied him to the courtroom, showering him with .

During the hearing, it was revealed that one of Woldermariam’s friends at the scene had hidden the weapon before police arrived. Another man, Jason London, who was on the scene later testified to that effect, saying the friend had been trying to protect Woldermariam. London also clarified that it was Woldermariam who had intended to shoot first, changing the homicide to an act of self-defense.

If London’s testimony wasn’t enough, the Los Angeles Police Department absolutely mangled the case. The LAPD inadvertently destroyed Woldermariam’s clothing, the bullets on his person, and the shell casings from the scene. The department called 24 witnesses to the stand, and many, just like London, provided more evidence against the prosecution. Both Snoop Dogg and Malik were found not guilty.

The two men’s ers believed that it was a sham from the start, a war on Black culture and Black youth. Speaking of his love for Snoop, MC Hammer told MTV, “Obviously, when you listen to the case — they have no case. He’s innocent.” He continued, “They’re putting him through all this… But it’s indicative of the way a lot of things are going on in this country right now.”

Snoop Dogg’s Dr Bombay Ice Cream: where to buy, flavors, and more https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/fyi/snoop-doggs-ice-cream-where-to-buy-flavors-and-more/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/fyi/snoop-doggs-ice-cream-where-to-buy-flavors-and-more/#respond Tue, 06 Aug 2024 10:45:49 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1735425 Who needs gin and juice when you've got Tropical Sherbert Swizzle?]]>

Snoop Dogg, aka “the king of side quests,” is one year into his ice cream product line, Dr. Bombay. While the West Coast icon is known for his multiple entertainment endeavors over the years, it marks the second time he’s ventured into the food industry (after his cannabis edibles venture Leafs by Snoop).

A year later, Dr. Bombay is still going strong, and new flavors have recently hit the shelves. The product’s mascot, which might look familiar to you, is as a result of Snoop Dogg’s NFT purchases in 2022.

During the Bored Ape NFT craze, several prominent stars like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Justin Bieber purchased these collectibles at astronomical prices. And while their value has since dropped significantly, Snoop seems to be putting his to good use. According to the official website for his ice cream, Dr. Bombay is “An NFT turned IRL sidekick to Snoop… that brings a new element of unexpected fun to Snoop’s life both on social media and in person.”

Where can you buy Snoop Dogg’s ice cream?

Originally, Snoop Dogg’s Dr. Bombay was only available in Walmart, but the ice cream can now be found all across the country in most grocery stores. This includes: Albertsons, ShopRite, Safeway, Ralphs Market, Kroger, Dillons, City Market, Winn Dixie, Star Market, and Northgate Market, among others. Also, according to the website, Dr. Bombay is available to order through Gopuff, and the company promises a 30-minute window for delivery!

How many flavors of Dr. Bombay are available?

To celebrate International Ice Cream Day 2024, Snoop Dogg released two new flavors of his Dr. Bombay ice cream– Baked Blueberry Muffin, and Peanut Butter Jelly Time. Earlier in the year, he introduced Strawberry Cream Dream, which means three new flavors have been introduced in 2024. This brings the total number of Dr. Bombay flavors to 10. Here’s a complete list of all the flavors:

 • Fo’Shizzle Almond Fudge
 • Bonus Track Brownie
 • Rollin’ In The Dough
 • S’More Vibes
 • Syrupe Waffle Sundazw
 • Iced Out Orange Cream
 • Tropical Sherbet Swizzle
 • Strawberry Cream Dream
 • Peanut Butter Jelly Time
 • Baked Blueberry Muffin

Believe it or not, Snoop Dogg’s entry into the snacks industry has actually become a huge hit! In a press release in 2023, he said, “Ice cream is more than just a snack to me: it’s a way to chill, relax, and get happy. That’s exactly what I want Dr. Bombay Ice Cream to do— bring a smile to your face and ease your mind.”

And after all was said and done, Dr. Bombay ice cream has been receiving lots of positive reviews since it debuted a year ago. So while Snoop has a reputation for dabbling in numerous ventures, there’s evidently a lot of intentionality in his product. After all, Snoop has always been known for his love for a good time.
