If Gwen is Spidey's love interest, what about MJ?]]>
<![CDATA[

We could be seeing Sadie Sink take the place of Zendaya in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as the Stranger Things star is rumored to be ing the MCU as a multiverse variant of none other than Gwen Stacy. 3w6545

It’s been a tough few years for MCU Spider-Man fans. Can you believe it’s been nearly four whole years since we last saw Tom Holland’s web-slinging hero on the big screen? How the time flies. But at long last we’re seeing signs of life with Marvel gearing up for a fourth movie in 2026, and with the hype of a new Spidey instalment comes all the rumors and speculation we’re used to seeing.

The Sadie Sink rumor explored 2z5v17

The rumor has been attributed to Jeff Sneider, the same guy who claimed Robert Downey Jr. would be playing Doctor Doom two months before the announcement was made. If his source is right then that means we could be seeing Sink swing onto our screens as the new live-action Gwen Stacy.

While Sneider has proven himself to be reliable with leaks in the past he isn’t always spot on. Three months ago he was saying that Sink’s role in the MCU might be as an MJ variant. Prior to that he was claiming she was set to play Jean Grey. So let’s take what this guy says with a grain of salt. It certainly sounds like Sadie Sink will be appearing in the MCU in some capacity, but the exact details of her role are somewhat vague right now.

Fan reactions to the news ranged from excitement, with some saying she’s perfect for the role, to confusion, with one person noting that she has “been rumored so far to be playing 10 different characters.”

What does this mean for Zendaya? 3u6j6u

We have plenty of questions about this casting of course. First of all, will Sink be playing regular Gwen Stacy or Spider-Gwen? If it’s the former then that would make her a potential love interest to Peter Parker. So what would that mean for Zendaya’s MJ?

The truth is we just don’t know right now. It’s not even confirmed that this is 100% the role Sadie Sink will be playing in the Spider-Man film. In all honesty even if Sink does the cast as Gwen there will probably always be room for Zendaya/MJ. Her character is pretty much integral to every Spider-Man story and it’s hard to imagine Marvel giving us a Spider-Man story without Tom Holland and Zendaya.

Let’s not forget the fact that the two are also engaged in real life making it even more unlikely that Marvel would keep them separate on-screen. Either way, it will be interesting to see how the dynamics of this iteration of Peter Parker and MJ shift with the potential addition of Gwen Stacy.

Like it or not, but it’s probably fair to say that Marvel’s biggest appeal these days is as a cameo engine. Just look at the most successful MCU movies of recent years, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine — both crossed billion-dollar hauls at the box office thanks to all the intense interest folks had in seeing which familiar faces would come back and which wouldn’t. So it’s no surprise to hear that Spider-Man 4 might just be repeating the trick.

Or, you know, maybe it isn’t. A certain Marvel legend who’s been knocking around the multiverse for 23 years and counting at this stage was asked point-blank in a new interview whether he will show up in Tom Holland’s next outing as the wallcrawler, and he gave practically the best response he could when it comes to pleading the fifth. Even so, the little he did say has got fans wondering if he has something to hide.

The legend in question is none other than J. Jonah Jameson himself, J.K. Simmons. When asked if he’s back as the Daily Bugle blowhard once more for Spider-Man 4, Simmons replied simply, “No spoilers. Sorry, I’m not telling!” That’s all well and good, J.K., but it still kinda sounds like you’ve got something to spoil in the first place…

How much Marvel actors should and shouldn’t say about their movies is a difficult game, and every MCU star plays it differently — from Holland and Mark Ruffalo’s famously loose lips to the magnificent duplicity of Andrew Garfield swearing upon his mother’s life that he wasn’t in No Way Home and all evidence to the contrary that had leaked online was photoshopped. It takes a special sort to commit to this level of lying, though, so Simmons’ “I ain’t saying nothin’ to nobody!” approach is a strong alternative.

After two back-to-back walk-on parts in both Far From Home and No Way Home, it probably wouldn’t be too much of a spoiler if we did find out Jameson was back for Spidey 4, anyway. What would be a nice surprise is if he actually had something interesting to do this time around. Could Peter finally get a job with the Bugle now that no one knows who he is following the tragic ending of the last film? It’s bizarre that Simmons has been in the MCU for two films and he hasn’t had a meaningful interaction with Spidey and/or Peter yet — and his last film had three Peters in it!

There’s a worthwhile debate to be had over whether Spider-Man 4 should attempt to recreate the crossover party atmosphere of NWH or if it should get back to the more character-driven storytelling of Homecoming (and maybe even the original Sam Raimi films), but it’s hard not to argue that the former would be its best route to success amid the current cinematic climate. Simmons might be the first potential cameo we’re hearing about for the production — which starts shooting in the U.K. later this year — but he’s almost certainly not the last.

Are there any couple goals left that these two haven't ticked off?]]>
<![CDATA[

Tom Holland and Zendaya are the perfect on-screen partners and off-screen couple, and he just proved why in a new podcast interview.

Unarguably everyone’s favorite Hollywood couple by now, Tom Holland and Zendaya never miss a chance to bring each other up and drop affirmations of love for each other anytime they speak to the media. A month after Zendaya opened up about what it’s like to make Spider-Man movies with her boyfriend, Holland has given his word on what it’s like to work with his lady love. Warning: you might feel overwhelmingly single after hearing this.

In a recent Christmas-themed episode of the Dish podcast, the host asked Holland what all of us had been dying to know: What is it like acting opposite his longtime girlfriend Zendaya? And well, I wouldn’t say the internet was not ready for the answer, but it’s still enough to have everyone kicking their feet in the air. “Oh God, yeah. It’s a saving grace. Yeah, the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he remarked (via Variety).

But before he gave this sweet and cheeky answer, Holland first hilariously quipped, “Studios love it. One hotel room. Separate drivers. We’re not crazy now. Listen it’s work, alright">they prove true love exists.

Sony’s most successful Marvel franchise is signaling the end of an era. While there is not much fanfare, there is, however, a lot to look forward to.

The production company may be behind infamous films such as Morbius and Madame Web, but Venom has been a fairly stable series. Starring heavy-hitter Tom Hardy as the tenacious reporter Eddie Brock, the first film did as well as it could while steering away from the MCU’s version of Spider-Man. The series sets Eddie in San Francisco where he encounters the love of his life, the titular sludge symbiote. Venom: Let There Be Carnage didn’t win over everyone, but it will still be bittersweet to say goodbye to the crime-fighting duo.

As Venom: The Last Dance implies, this is the conclusion to the trilogy and fans would love to know if another famous Tom will be gracing the Sony stage with his presence. MCU’s own Tom Holland was last seen in the heartbreaking and emotionally resonant Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film was the perfect way to end the trilogy — at least before Spider-Man 4 — and Holland has been taking his time away from the big screen ever since.

Could that mean he is saving his energy for a Venom cameo? If the production is aware of any such plans, they are not giving it away. Hardy made sure to keep his lips sealed when broached about the subject.

Perhaps this is a way to get fans to come into the theaters, but this may also be a pipe dream. The small Peter Parker representation that fans saw in this universe was a post-credit scene where Venom saw Peter Parker on a television screen. There are also implications that during the No Way Home debacle, Eddie was pulled into the MCU like many other Spider-Man villains. The canon at this point is murky at best, but there are other appearances in the film that fans are also hyped to see.

Venom fans should get ready for Knull 16y26

The final Venom film is promising to not hold back. After years of dancing around one of Marvel’s most infamous villains, he will finally make his big-screen debut. As teased in the trailer, the third film will revolve around the villainous Knull, the creator of Venom’s race of symbiotes. Closer to a dark deity than a man, Knull created the symbiotes as a super army to conquer worlds. Wanting their freedom, the symbiotes ultimately imprisoned Knull and struck out on their own.

Knull is finally back and is the one entity Venom is truly afraid of. This villain is the right way to wrap up a trilogy. However, he has the chance to impact MCU properties as well. Knull is the architect behind the All-Black, the Necrosword that Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) wields in Thor: Love & Thunder. Taika Waititi’s film was worse received than Let There Be Carnage, the main failure being the depiction of Gorr. Waititi leaned too hard into camp territory instead of portraying the character fans actually expected: A scary killer of gods. The addition of another famous figure such as Knull would have made the story even more authentic. Alas, fans are left with Waititi’s version that is better left forgotten. The good news is that Venom: The Last Dance will finally put the character to use in the final chapter of the highly entertaining anti-hero story, which premieres in theaters on Oct. 24.

Can Spider-Man swing that high again?]]>
<![CDATA[

Up until Deadpool & Wolverine came along, Spider-Man: No Way Home was easily the most financially successful and culturally impactful MCU movie of the decade so far. By teaming Tom Holland up with both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, it managed to deliver such a potent blend of multi-generational nostalgia that it took the combined might of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for anything else to come close.

The downside of No Way Home‘s enormous success has only become apparent to Marvel fans over time, though: it’s going to be nigh on impossible for Spider-Man 4 to top it. Director Jon Watts, however, realized this straight away, even in the midst of enjoying a career high when the film came out in December 2021 to insane box office and audience acclaim.

At the premiere for his first film since, George Clooney and Brad Pitt two-hander Wolfs, Watts reflected on how “unbelievable” the release of No Way Home was — and how he was aware he would never experience anything like it again. He told The Hollywood Reporter:

“That was such a specific moment in time, and the reaction to that movie was just so unbelievable,” re Watts. It was at this point that the director came to the realization: “It’s never going to be like this, ever again.”

Of course, if there is one common criticism of No Way Home, it’s that it displays less of an authorial flavor than previous cinematic Spidey outings, particularly those from director Sam Raimi. Watts indicated this is something he may well be aware of as he hopes his new film will prove his critics wrong.

In a fuller interview with THR, Watts itted that Wolfs presented a thrilling opportunity for him as it meant that, for the first time since his feature debut Cop Car, he was finally able to work on a movie that fully belonged to him and allowed him to better explore “my vision and my style.” He explained:

“I was just getting started and Marvel came along — and I take full creative ownership over all those films — but Spider-Man is always going to be Stan Lee and Steve Ditko‘s creation,” he says. “This was the chance for me to go back to my voice and my vision and my style. Wolfs is mine, and that’s a really good feeling.”

Can Spider-Man 4 be better than No Way Home? 736x3x

Watts’ comments obviously refer specifically to his awareness that he’ll likely never make a project more popular than No Way Home, but his point does make you wonder: will the Spider-Man franchise as a whole be able to recapture that same lightning in a bottle next time around?

This conundrum is likely what’s causing such a long delay with Spider-Man 4 (not to mention Holland’s dedication to taking on a range of other acting challenges). As Marvel and Sony have already pulled the chord on the ultimate Spidey team-up, is there anywhere to go but down? Clearly, Deadpool & Wolverine proves multiversal crossovers are the best way forward, but No Way Home used all the best ones up in one go. I’m not sure Spider-Man 4 being built around Peter Parker battling Paul Giamatti’s Rhino with the help of Mr. Ditkovich the landlord would have the same oomph.

Then again, the latest rumors point to Spider-Man 4 tying into Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars in a big way, so perhaps a showdown between Holland’s wallcrawler and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doom could be the way to recapture the magic, in a neat inversion of the Iron Man team-up of Homecoming. It’s never going to be like this ever again, says Watts. but let’s hope he’s wrong about that.

From 'Captain America' to 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' this is your chronological go-to guide for the best Marvel Cinematic Universe viewing experience. ]]>
<![CDATA[

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the most in-depth and successful franchise of all time during its 16-year run at the box office. While it began with Iron Man in 2008, for fans following the narrative, that’s not where the story actually begins.

There are currently 34 movies in the MCU — soon to be 35 with Captain America: Brave New World — released in five phases. Phases One through Three, known as the Infinity Saga, collectively bring viewers closer to the arrival of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and its epic follow-up, Avengers: Endgame. Meanwhile, phases Four through Six, known as the Multiverse Saga, began in 2021 and will eventually bring viewers closer to Robert Downey Jr.’s ultimate MCU comeback as Doctor Doom in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday and its subsequent multiversal showdown in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. : Kang is a thing of the past.

Phase Four began in 2021 with the Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and continued into 2022 with three major franchise sequels: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Phase Five began in 2023 and also included four franchise sequels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and most recently Deadpool & Wolverine.

Following the success of Marvel’s Disney Plus streaming hits like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, we’ve received fresh entries like Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Secret Invasion, Loki season 2, and soon Agatha All Along. They aim to continue the budding tradition of bringing focused character studies to the small screen, but in light of criticism over reduced quality, Marvel has scaled back these productions a bit. Nevertheless, these shows tie into the larger Marvel universe, which is actually more of a multiverse now. However, those shows won’t be mentioned on this list, as this list pertains to feature films only.

There are numerous ways to enjoy Marvel films, including the order in which they were released, or drawn out of a hat at random, although that last option isn’t recommended for first-time viewers. However, in this article, we’ll be breaking down the chronological timeline of all films in the MCU so you can watch them in the correct narrative order. An at-a-glance lineup of Phases One through Three can be found below:

Screengrab via Disney Plus

Below is a breakdown of every MCU film in narrative-timeline order, all of which, save Deadpool & Wolverine, are available to stream now on Disney Plus. Thanks to Marvel’s official The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline, we now have a clearer picture of not only what is and isn’t MCU canon, but also whether the nuggets of information we’ve compiled over the years do, indeed, fit into the slots we’ve given them. Spoiler alert: they do.

Captain America: The First Avenger 47504y

Taking place first in the timeline, Captain America: The First Avenger provides the origin story for one of Marvel’s most popular heroes, Steve Rogers, played by the dynamite Chris Evans. This film mostly takes place in 1942 and showcases Rogers’ journey from a scrawny infantry soldier to full-blown Captain America who faces off against Red Skull.

Captain Marvel 2q673

Next up is Captain Marvel, which is set in 1995, much closer to modern times. This movie is the first in the timeline to explore space travel and intergalactic threats. As we are introduced to both Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and soon-to-be S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the pair gets involved in the conflict between the Kree and the Skrulls, with surprising results.

Iron Man 5we3w

The third film in the timeline was the very first Marvel film to be released: Iron Man. The billionaire philanthropist-turned-superhero Tony Stark has his origin story told in this fan-favorite film. Thanks to its box office success and fans’ adoration of Robert Downey Jr.’s performance, the film ultimately kicked off the entire MCU franchise.

Iron Man 2 6t1j5d

Picking up shortly after the events of the first Iron Man, Iron Man 2 continues the story of the suited superhero now with his identity known to the public. Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), the son of a scientist who previously worked at Stark Industries, is back with a grudge and creates his own weaponry with the goal of taking revenge for his fallen father. The film also introduces a soon-to-be Avenger in Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

The Incredible Hulk 3t3210

While many fans may choose to forego 2008’s The Incredible Hulk in their MCU binge given that it features Ed Norton in the role instead of Mark Ruffalo (who later became the official Banner), it’s still technically a part of the MCU timeline. This movie gives fans a unique take on the Hulk’s origin story and hints at more things to come in the closing credits.

Thor 3hy18

Thor’s initial big-screen debut took place in 2011 and gave fans their first look at Asgard and other realms via the Bifrost. This one finds the titular god traveling to Earth to defend the world from Loki and a Frost Giant threat. For many moviegoers, this was their introduction to the beloved character, played by Chris Hemsworth, and for many it solidly delivered.

The Avengers i2i64

The first crossover film in the timeline came with The Avengers, which was set at the conclusion of Marvel’s Phase One. The Avengers brought together Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, the Hulk, and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) to protect the Earth from Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the Chitauri invasion. The movie also played a key role in introducing the Tesseract as the first of the Infinity Stones. These stones were ultimately the key to all future plans in the MCU.

Thor: The Dark World 2u6o32

The second Thor film in the MCU, Thor: The Dark World, gives us a closer look at Asgard, its inner workings, and the relationship between Thor, his brother Loki, and their father, Odin. The film also gives us insight into the second Infinity Stone, the Aether, which was wielded by the movie’s antagonists, the Dark Elves. Though it’s largely considered one of the less-impressive Marvel films, it serves its purpose and thankfully paves the way for a wonderful Thor threequel.

Iron Man 3 6x4gp

In Iron Man 3, Tony Stark deals with anxiety after experiencing the intergalactic invasion of the Chitauri. After diving into full damage control mode and assembling an army of suits, he’s forced to choose between being Iron Man and protecting those he loves. Meanwhile, he must also deal with the looming threat of “The Mandarin.”

Captain America: The Winter Soldier 1w5r39

Hailed as one of the best films in the entire MCU franchise, Captain America: The Winter Soldier introduces viewers to more of Captain America’s past and throws Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier, back into the fray. The movie also reveals the hidden HYDRA threat still present among the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D that ultimately leads to its demise.

Guardians of the Galaxy 6q4w5x

When it was announced that Disney was going to bring the Guardians to the big screen, many were skeptical, but Guardians of the Galaxy turned out to be one of the best space films ever, let alone one in the MCU. It introduced us to Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel), an unlikely team that attempts to stop the plot of Ronan the Acc (Lee Pace) from using the Power Stone to destroy Xandar.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 3771d

Taking place shortly after the first film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 gives us a closer look at Peter Quill’s backstory and heritage while also introducing a new member to the squad in the form of Mantis (Pom Klementieff). The story also dives deeper into the sibling rivalry between Gamora and Nebula (Karen Gillan) and shines a light on their relationship with their adoptive father, Thanos, which would pay off in just a few short films.

Avengers: Age of Ultron 682n13

Crossing over once again, the cast of the original Avengers film s forces to defend the Earth from the threat of Ultron (James Spader), a supercomputer developed to be a peacekeeping program by Tony Stark, which overrides its programming and now seeks to eliminate all mankind. In the latter half of the film, the Avengers get a few new additions in the form of Vision (Paul Bettany) and the Maximoff twins, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Pietro (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).

Ant-Man 591j15

Ant-Man tells the story of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a thief who is recruited by Dr. Hank Pym to assist him with stopping the plot of his former protège, who cast him away from his own company. During the film, Lang becomes Ant-Man after being gifted a suit and trained to use Pym Particles to shrink his size, giving him superhuman strength and the ability to control ants.

Captain America: Civil War 3p75p

While not an Avengers film by name, Captain America: Civil War brings most of the superhero cast together for a face-off over a disagreement on the Sokovia Accords following the events of Age of Ultron. Civil War was also used to introduce a few new characters to the Avengers’ roster, including Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Black Widow 49f4r

Finally getting her own origin film after being part of the MCU for over a decade, Natasha Romanoff heads back to her roots in Black Widow, which launched earlier this year. The film introduced us to Natasha’s sister, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), who fans got to see again in Hawkeye and who will undoubtedly be appearing again, possibly in a villainous team-up compliments of a certain character who appears in the post-credits scene.

Spider-Man: Homecoming 432h3h

Despite what the movie may have led you to believe, it does not take place eight years after The Avengers. Marvel finally addressed the snafu after years of sweeping it under the rug in the official Marvel Studios: The MCU — An Official Timeline book, confirming it was indeed only four years after the Battle of New York. Taking place right after the events of Civil War, Spider-Man’s MCU debut chose not to retell the hero’s origin story, instead giving us a coming-of-age film that finds Peter Parker juggling his duties as Spider-Man with the demands of high school. There are plenty of comic book Spidey villains teased throughout the film, but his biggest threat is the Vulture, menacingly played by Michael Keaton, who is apparently bad with math.

Black Panther 5g1r6t

Instead of an origin story, when we pick up in Black Panther, T’Challa has already taken on the mantle as the titular hero after the ing of his father in Civil War. This film gives viewers their first look at the inner workings of the afrofuturistic Wakanda, as well as an epic tale of personal and ideological rivalry between T’Challa and Killmonger (Michael B Jordan).

Doctor Strange 2l3v18

The first time we are treated to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in the MCU is in his self-titled film. The story explores the origins of Stephen Strange’s character and teases the ideas of multiple dimensions, cosmic beings, and time-traveling threats. As you’d expect, the Time Stone is also a crucial element of the film and only becomes more important from here on out. Other standout characters in the film include Dr. Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), Wong (Benedict Wong), Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), and The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton).

Thor: Ragnarok 306w67

Directed by Taika Waititi and taking on a different style and tone than the previous Thor films, Ragnarok has a more comical personality while maintaining high-quality action sequences. The film addresses many of the loose ends following Age of Ultron and follows Thor and Loki as they attempt to stop their half-sister, Hela (Cate Blanchett) from taking over Asgard. The ending of this film offers a jaw-dropping lead-in to what quickly becomes the beginning of the end of the Infinity Saga.

Avengers: Infinity War 6d215i

The first part of the epic culmination of all the previous MCU films, Avengers: Infinity War finally gives us our first major introduction to Thanos (Josh Brolin), who has been working behind the scenes to gather the Infinity Stones with the goal of wiping out half of all life in the universe with a snap of his fingers. The movie takes place in 2018 and ultimately, leaves fans with a stunning cliffhanger that segues directly into Avengers: Endgame.

Ant-Man and the Wasp 6e5a4l

The sequel to Ant-Man, this film takes place at the same time as the events of Infinity War in 2018 and does a great job of telling its own story within the Ant-Man comic book canon. This one digs deeper into the relationship between Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and her mother (Michelle Pfeiffer), and also introduces a mysterious new villain, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). Just like Infinity War, the final moments of this film leave viewers breathless for answers in anticipation of the impending Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame 61293i

The epic conclusion to over a decade of storytelling, Avengers: Endgame has everything fans could ever want in a Marvel film. It takes place in October 2023, five years after the events of Infinity War, and sees the remaining Avengers attempt to regain hope of defeating Thanos and restore what was lost after his infamous “Snap,” which was later renamed “The Blip.” In the closing act, Endgame boasts one of the most epic action sequences in all of cinema, blasting expectations wide open and forever changing the MCU as we know it.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 6b33w

Shang-Chi is one of the latest heroes to the MCU, and in this first film exploring his character’s origin, we learn more about his role amidst the greater events playing out within the franchise. Alongside his friend Katy (Awkwafina), Shang-Chi is drawn back into the life he used to know and must face the father (Tony Chiu-Wai Leung) he thought he left behind. During the iconic bus fight scene between Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings operative Gao Lei, we’re shown the dates July 21 to 28 in a Jazz Blues Festival ment. Since Katy’s grandma also mentions the “Day of the Dead,” a festival resembling the Chinese Qingming Festival — which takes place in April — and the film itself spans two weeks, we can assume the movie takes place in April 2024. This would put it before Far From Home.

Spider-Man: Far From Home 6b2t2s

Picking up right after Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home addresses the events that took place during the previous film while also introducing some new faces and returning characters from the past. It takes place during the summer of 2024, eight months after The Blip. This is the perfect bridging point to close out Phase Three and enter Phase Four of the MCU — after watching Shang-Chi, of course.

Eternals 1s9i

With its many flashbacks telling the story not only of the Eternals themselves but also the history of the universe, it can be difficult to give this film a true place in the MCU timeline. That said, its present-day moments take place around the same time as Far From Home in 2024, likely just afterward given that the events of the film were not mentioned in the Spider-Man sequel. Fans and critics were largely split on the film (to put it mildly), except in regard to that colorful cameo by Harry Styles in the post-credits scene. Whether Styles will actually return to the MCU is another matter entirely.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Logan took place in 2029, so Deadpool & Wolverine must also take place during or after that, meaning it should be at the bottom of this list. Well, no. The Merc with the Mouth’s first foray into the MCU actually occurs in 2024. We know this because after Happy Hogan rejects Wade’s request to the Avengers (on March 14, 2018, on Earth-616) the time stamp on the screen tells us we jump six years into the future — back on Earth-1005 — which would place the film in 2024. And because we see Wade celebrating his birthday and he’s said in the comics that he’s a Scorpio (on the cusp of a Libra, thank you very much) — and because Deadpool & Wolverine showcases a decent amount of fall foliage — we can safely assume the film occurs in October 2024. As for why Earth-10005’s Wolverine is already dead at the beginning of Deadpool & Wolverine when Logan’s death shouldn’t have occurred for another five years — well, it’s likely that Wade jumped forward in time using the TVA’s TemPad. That, or we’re just going to file the mistake away with all of Marvel’s other embarrassing timeline errors.

Spider-Man: No Way Home 6f1f57

Spider-Man: No Way Home takes place immediately after its predecessor, Far From Home around Nov. 2024. The film brings Peter Parker on the most mind-blowing adventure of his life ⏤ which, unfortunately, no one but he will . The film saw him grapple with everything from losing his Aunt May, to facing off against villains from completely different universes. It also led to Peter finding an unexpected brotherhood with alternate versions of himself, perfectly brought to life by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in tear-inducing appearances that will stand the test of time.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 561g47

Benedict Cumberbatch’s return as the title character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness picked up after the events of No Way Home. It saw Strange deal with the implications of multiversal travel while facing new friends and foes, some of whom created serious trouble for him (ahem – Wanda). Wanda’s future was thrown into flux after she was presumably killed off in the movie’s final moments, but she is rumored to return in a Disney Plus spin-off series, which may or may not happen since Marvel subtly announced that the Earth-616 version of the character is canonically dead. Strange, too, received a cliffhanger ending, something we hope will be addressed in the rumored Doctor Strange 3.

In the meantime, you can rest assured that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness takes place after Spider-Man: No Way Home, which takes place right around the events of Hawkeye, which takes place around Christmas 2024.

Thor: Love and Thunder 4h62a

Thanks to Disney Plus, we now know that — in the eyes of Marvel Studios — this film takes place after Doctor Strange 2. It also takes place after Ms. Marvel, which is believed to take place around Sept. 2025 because of the school’s homecoming dance. However, in Love and Thunder Jane Foster’s eppendorf vial’s tag includes the date April 30, suggesting it takes place in the beginning of 2025. Unfortunately, since we don’t know exactly when Thor and Jane broke up, the God of Thunder’s comments about their breakup happening 8 years 7 months and 6 days before the movie doesn’t exactly paint a clear picture either. Our best bet is to just assume Love and Thunder takes place in April 2025, especially when looking at the next MCU installments on the timeline.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 373f4w

According to Black Panther Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore, we have a place in the timeline to slot Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Moore says that this film takes place alongside the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, around the start of 2025, so for all rewatching purposes you should be able to enjoy either film first. This placement would make a lot of sense, since neither film directly affects the events of the other. Secret Invasion, on the other hand, almost had us questioning the timing of things when our favorite CIA from Wakanda Forever was revealed to be a Skrull (that was all put to rest in the season finale, though).

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 2p265m

For those who are sticklers for dates, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania takes place during the start of 2025, like Wakanda Forever. How do we know this? A news clip in Wakanda Forever mentions Scott Lang’s book tour, and because book tours don’t last entire years, Quantumania definitely takes place before The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which occurs later that year during Christmastime, which also means it takes place before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, Disney Plus messed with the timeline when it decided to place Quantumania after The Guardians Holiday Special, which it most certainly is not, resulting in MODOK-sized canon headache, if you ask us. It wouldn’t be the first time Disney Plus goofed with the MCU’s timeline, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as the time Quantumania was accidentally erased from Phase Five. (Don’t worry, it’s not).

The Marvels g4h6j

Ms. Marvel provides us with a pretty good guestimation where The Marvels takes place on the MCU timeline. Because the Disney Plus series is believed to take place around Sept. 2025 and Kamala Khan’s body-swapping problem doesn’t go unaddressed long, The Marvels likely takes place before 2026, which means it comes before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Carol Danvers’ intergalactic team-up with Captain Rambeau and Kamala to defeat the Kree general Dar-Benn in the highly-anticipated sequel to her billion-dollar predecessor, Captain Marvel, also happens to be the shortest movie in MCU history. Should any information in the movie, which will premiere in just a few short days, contradict this entry, we will revise it ASAP.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 6x4o5f

It’s hard to give Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 an exact place on the MCU’s timeline since it is unaffected by previous films and has little effect on the overall MCU storyline. However, it’s safe to say that this intergalactic, twisty-turny threequel takes place in 2026 since it occurs after the events of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in Dec. 2025. As a rule of thumb, here’s every MCU movie you should watch before starting Vol. 3.

'No Way Home' No. 2? No way! ]]>
<![CDATA[

To date, there’s only one Multiverse Saga movie that has managed to come close to the magnificence of the Infinity Saga, and that’s an inarguable fact. Spider-Man: No Way Home stands as the sole post-2020 Marvel release to cross $1 billion at the box office. So it’s no wonder hype for Spider-Man 4 is sky-high.

Although Sony has been teasing another outing for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker ever since, the (Spider-)man himself and Marvel Studios have seemingly been keen to let the project simmer for a bit. After all, in many ways, No Way Home was the definitive Spidey movie, serving as a celebration of the evolution of the entire Spider-Man brand since 2003. It’s going to be tough to measure up to the high standard Jon Watts’ threequel set.

Given that, it’s no surprise that reports say there’s a chance the movie could end up being No Way Home 2.0., with another multiversal team-up potentially occurring. On paper, that sounds like a smart move, but in actuality, it could end up running the Spider-Man franchise into the ground.

Sony rumored to want Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back for Spider-Man 4 5i103r

No Way Home fan theory explains plot hole
Image via Sony

According to rumored intel doing the rounds, which sprung from insider Daniel Richtman, Sony is considering bringing back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield opposite Tom Holland once again for Spider-Man 4, in the hopes of matching the scale and scope of No Way Home. It sounds like there may be some creative clash happening behind the scenes, however, as Kevin Feige and Holland himself are apparently keen to keep the film more grounded and free of multiversal elements.

To date, there’s nothing official pointing to either Maguire and Garfield making further Marvel returns, although fans have long assumed they could cameo in Avengers: Secret Wars. When it comes to Spider-Man 4, though, Holland certainly has made no secret of the fact that he’ll only sign on to do another one if it honors the character and can tell a meaningful story. So this would align with this rumored information. Similarly, Kevin Feige’s newfound Marvel Spotlight banner for street-level heroes could indicate he’d want Spidey to stay on this side of the fence from now on.

There could be nothing in this, then, but just in case this is something that Sony is pushing for, I just want to put something out there. Bringing Peters 2 and 3 back for Spider-Man 4 would be an awful decision. Please, if you care about this franchise at all, don’t do it.

Kevin Feige and Tom Holland are allegedly right, let Spider-Man 4 be its own thing 3335n

To misquote Norman Osborn, I’m something of a No Way Home fan myself, and yet the idea of Spidey 4 repeating its predecessor’s USP leaves me more creeped out than watching Bully Maguire dancing down the street.

As the final entry in a trilogy — that was itself the final entry in a trilogy of different Spider-Man trilogies, no less — No Way Home was the perfect excuse to bring all three Spideys back together. Even better, it managed to center around Earth-616’s Peter and tell a moving, heartbreaking story that changed his life forever. Sure, fans can complain about Doctor Strange’s dopey spell or a couple of duff jokes, but we are genuinely lucky this film turned out as, well, amazing as it did.

So let’s not tempt fate, huh? Bringing the trio back together for another go around would invariably be met by lesser excitement, less of a thrill, less of an ear-splitting cheer in theaters when they pop through the portals again. As the MCU is finding across the board right now, what with Quantumania and The Marvels underperforming, maybe audiences don’t actually want the same thing fed to them over and over.

Whether Kevin Feige and Holland are actually taking this stance or not, the notion of keeping Spider-Man 4 grounded is absolutely the right call. With nobody in the world knowing who he is and his secret identity back in the box, the next film has the perfect opportunity to deliver the authentic, traditional, back-to-basics Spidey movie fans have been craving ever since the wallcrawler ed the MCU. Let’s have him be that friendly neighborhood Spider-Man again. Let’s have him team up with Daredevil and fight Kingpin, sure — I’m not saying no to all crossovers — but don’t waste the wonderful chance to make a new definitive Spider-Man movie. One which defines who Peter Parker is as a lone superhero in a world full of them and why that makes him so special.

The presence of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in No Way Home was like a drop of precious tritium in Otto Octavius’ fusion experiment. Bringing them back for Spider-Man 4 would only be one drop too many and threaten to blow it all up. Sony really should’ve learned from Doctor Octopus by now; too many interfering hands is always a bad thing.

Stay back, 2024, you're not getting these two! ]]>

Yes, we’ve all dreamed of Spider-Man being real, but not like this. For the love of Goblin, not like this!

Spider-Man: No Way Home ended in the most heartbreaking way possible when Peter Parker had to remove all memories of himself from the world in order to save the multiverse, meaning girlfriend MJ had no idea who he was. Thankfully, even though there’s still no word on Spider-Man 4, fans’ hearts have been healed over the past few years by the real-life relationship between Tom Holland and Zendaya.

That’s why Ms. Coleman’s latest social media update has proven so alarming. The Dune: Part Two actress has caused an internet-wide stir by unfollowing boyfriend Holland on Instagram… OK, and everyone else on the platform, but he’s the important one. Apparently, Zendaya decided that the best way to start 2024 was with an Instagram purge as her profile currently shows not a single follow, not even Holland.

Naturally, the Tom & Zendaya adorers out there are more than slightly freaking out about this, but don’t fret just yet as there’s no reason to suggest Zendaya has forgotten all about Holland, just as MJ has Peter. Many other superstars who are huge on social media have dialed back their follows to zero, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Olivia Rodrigo, so Zendaya is just ing the trend. As far as we know, she and Holland remain just as happy as, well, Peter and MJ were before Doctor Strange botched that magic spell. No, we still haven’t forgiven you, Stephen, and we never will.

In fact, there’s no way Zendaya would let Holland know something was wrong by simply unfollowing him on Instagram. In early December 2023, the 27-year-old British star itted that one thing he loves most about his partner, who he first met while making Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016, is her honesty. “Zendaya is probably the most honest with me, which I love because you need that,” Holland revealed during a SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversation.

The Oakland-born actress, also 27, has a huge year ahead of her, so that might be why she’s looking to slim down her social media addiction. The much-anticipated Dune sequel releases on March 1 with her next movie of the year coming out just a month later, in the form of romantic sports drama Challengers, in which Zendaya stars opposite Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. Catch that in theaters from April 26. Plus, if you believe the rumors, she could be returning to the MCU soon and start filming the next Spidey before the year is out.

There are no signs that anything’s amiss on the Tom & Zendaya front, then, although if anything did ever happen, a lot of Marvel fans might try and make a time-reversing spell of their own.

<![CDATA[

The Sony Spider-Man universe, or the SSU as most call it, continues to hobble along whilst expanding upon the lore and filling out a world filled with Spider-Man characters and villains whilst lacking the web-slinger himself.

Madame Web will introduce a bunch of new Spider-characters, none of which are Spider-Man. The reason for this has to do with Studio deals and contracts and honestly, it’s a bit of a headache. What’s important to know is what you need to watch before you see this film.

We’re going to have to break that down a bit, first of all, the film can work as a standalone feature, so you don’t necessarily need to watch anything else to understand this one. However, it might help your understanding of the universe the story takes place in to watch a few of the other Sony films.

Madame Web will be a part of the SSU; meaning it is very likely that we’ll be seeing references to events and characters we already know; we might even get a few cameos. So, let’s start with all the films that take place in the same universe first, then we can discuss any multiverse elements and films related tangentially to the spider-flick.

The Venom films 6rmg

Venom
Image via Sony

Obviously Venom and its sequel, Venom: Let the be Carnage are pretty important. The first film was the launching point for Sony’s MCU adjacent universe. It introduced fans to the SSU, a Spider-Man cinematic universe where Spider-Man is nowhere to be seen. Despite lacking everyone’s favorite web-head, it was a pretty good start. Tom Hardy’s funny but sometimes unhinged performance as Eddie Brock was enough to make fans look past some of the more glaring flaws.

The events that take place in both films have been referenced in the only other SSU: Morbius. Is there a chance that Madame Web will also make references in a similar way? Probably not as the film is actually set before the events of both Venom movies, but we could see a younger Eddie Brock make an appearance, although he likely won’t have a massive impact on the plot.

Morbius (2022) 104d1z

morbius
Image via Sony

That’s right, it’s Morbin’ time. So far Morbius is the only other character to get his own movie in Sony’s super successful and totally not cobbled together universe. This film wasn’t exactly welcomed with open arms by fans when it was released. In fact, it’s received a somewhat legendary status as one of the worst superhero films since the MCU raised the bar back in 2008.

Due to the poor reception, you’d think Sony would maybe avoid referencing it too heavily in future, but it is still a part of that universe, so if you’re really excited for Madame Web and want to be completely clued up then I’d say it’s worth sitting through Morbius.

Madame Web and the multiverse of loosely connected films 6925u

spider-man across the spider-verse

Both Venom and Morbius had end credits scenes that linked the films to the MCU and the concept of the multiverse. We also had Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock appearing in the end credits of No Way Home so it’s pretty much confirmed that there’s some overlap between these different universes.

Even if Madame Web takes place in a different world, her character has a lot to do with the multiverse through something called ‘The Web of Life’ so watching these other films, despite being only tangentially related still makes sense. Venom canonically appearing in an MCU film kind of gives us an excuse to binge everything in the MCU. Although the Spider-Man films are probably the most relevant.

There are also theories that Sony’s Spider-verse actually takes place in the Andrew Garfield (Peter 3) universe. So watching those could be worth your while too. And what the heck, may as well watch the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films at this point too. After all, they all shared the screen in No Way Home.

The animated Spider-verse films could also be worth a watch. As the most recent film, ‘Across the Spider-verse’ referenced the Web of Life connecting it directly to Cassandra Web’s character.

What else is there? 4o361z

You could go even further, if you want to know a bit more about the character of Madame Web she appears in multiple episodes of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. She’s only in a handful of episodes, but the Animated Series is just great in general and if you haven’t seen it yet you definitely should.

Madame Web will swing into theaters on Feb. 14 2024.

Marvel homework is the best kind of homework. ]]>
<![CDATA[

The MCU is so huge now that it’s hard to jump into a fresh Marvel Studios project completely cold. Maybe part of the reason The Marvels crashed and burned was because it was a self-confessed sequel to about five different shows and movies. That’s not the case with Disney Plus’ Echo, however.

The pioneering project released under the brand-new Marvel Spotlight banner, which is apparently to be used for more standalone MCU productions going forward, Echo stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, an anti-hero long-term subscribers of the platform should already be familiar with. Don’t expect Kang crossovers and multiversal mayhem in this one, as Echo exists very much in the gritty, street-level corner of the Marvel universe.

Despite the Marvel Spotlight banner, though, it has to be said that you will get the most out of Echo if you’re familiar with certain other MCU films and series. Here are your homework assignments to complete before Echo drops all of its five episodes on Jan. 9.

Daredevil (seasons 1-3) 6q297

Matt Murdock in his red suit in Netflix's Daredevil.

It’s fair to say, if you’re excited for Echo you’re probably already a die-hard Daredevil fan, as Charlie Cox’s latest return as the Man Without Fear is one of the show’s major draws. Nevertheless, there’s no better way to prepare for the Hornhead’s highly anticipated return than to relive how it all began for him and binge your way through all three seasons of Netflix’s show-stopping series once more.

If you’re really strapped for time, maybe just rewatch season 3 to remind yourself of where the Netflix show left Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. Alternatively, if you’ve got nothing but time on your hands, why not follow up all seasons of Daredevil with the rest of the Defenders Saga — including Jessica Jones, The Punisher, Luke Cage, The Defenders, and (if you must) Iron Fist.

Hawkeye 62262p

kingpin hawkeye
Image via Marvel Studios

The main reason for the confusion surrounding the Marvel Spotlight banner is that Echo is, by its nature, a Hawkeye spinoff. Don’t forget that Alaqua Cox debuted as Maya in the December 2021 series, which introduced her as the leader of the Tracksuit Mafia, who ultimately worked for her adoptive uncle, none other than Wilson Fisk/the Kingpin.

While Echo will no doubt recap viewers on the salient points of her prior journey, seeing as it’s been over two years since Hawkeye aired at this point, it would definitely be handy to revisit all six episodes of the Jeremy Renner vehicle ahead of Maya’s return. Especially as we just saw Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop again in The Marvels.

Spider-Man: No Way Home 6f1f57

Matt Murdock
Image via Spider-Man: No Way Home

Again, if you’re the sort of person who’s hyped for Echo, then you’re probably a Daredevil completist, someone who eagerly hoovers up each and every appearance from Charlie Cox as the adventurous avocado-at-law. In that case, no walk down Daredevil memory lane would be complete without a rewatch of his grand return to the world of the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Yes, Cox’s cameo in the ginormously successful Spidey threequel only lasts for mere moments, but his solitary scene carries a whole lot of weight. Through this, Matt became the very first character from Marvel Television to transfer over into the movies, something which cemented the vigilante in MCU canon without a doubt, thereby paving the way for the Daredevil: Born Again and his other Disney Plus appearances…

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law 3y3n6m

Echo could not be more tonally different from She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, but if you want to imbibe the unabridged Daredevil story prior to diving into Echo then you need to give the divisive legal comedy a go. Specifically, Cox shows up in the final two episodes of the season, which introduce an unlikely but epic romance between Matt Murdock and Tatiana Maslany’s titular Jade Giantess.

Many fans didn’t take to how much lighter the generally gloomy hero is depicted in She-Hulk, what with his revamped yellow suit and newfound love of smiling, so expect Echo to revert Matt to his factory settings, complete with Netflix-era red costume. Nevertheless, can you really appreciate his return to his roots in Echo if you overlook that time he hooked up with Hulk’s cousin and fought a guy dressed like a frog?

What If….? season 2 2k2w55

No, none of the main cast of Echo appear in What If…? season 2, but the animated series does have one star in common with its live-action Disney Plus counterpart. Devery Jacobs ed the MCU in the sophomore run of the anthology show in a truly groundbreaking role — she voiced Kahhori, the very first superhero created exclusively by Marvel Studios.

We’ve yet to find out if Kahhori could appear elsewhere in the MCU, but it’s worth noting that Jacobs is set to turn up in Echo as well. Plenty of actors have played multiple roles in this franchise, so there could well be no link whatsoever between Jacobs’ animated and live-action Marvel characters, but the franchise certainly has an intriguing opportunity here to connect its two Native American heroines together in some form.

From the looks of the many The Marvels trailers, it doesn’t take a genius to guess that most of the story will unfold in space and on the Kree planet. On top of that, it is one of the shortest Marvel films ever at 1 hour 45 minutes and yet, the list of expectations from the film is only getting longer and wilder.

There is already a lot The Marvels is technically bound to accomplish based on the finer points of its plot — explain why Monica is mad at Carol, what role the bangles play, and how the ones not wearing any (Carol and Monica) are still bound by it, flesh out the motivations of MCU’s brand new villain, how the Kree vs Carol rivalry will pan out, and will the trio stick together as a team post the film’s events.

But The Marvels is now expected to unravel the most remotely possible threads and/or simply end the surprises that have been dangled over our heads for so long. While some can be justified with a sliver of logic, the rest? Lofty dreams fellows Marvel-ers!

Hopes that Dar-Benn is Thanos’ daughter 1g6364

All the purple light in the trailer has convinced a few (which includes folks here at WGTC) that Dar-Benn is Thanos’ daughter and is seeking revenge from Carol for aiding in his death.

To somehow debut the X-Men 2s1x4d

Though the tease was deliberate and there have been rumors of The Beast appearing in the post-credit scenes, the massive expectation has crossed the boundaries of sanity and hopes are for all the X-Men to somehow make their debut in The Marvels.

To include Storm 6uv4s

The blink-and-miss scene of a woman going past Monica in a white suit has triggered many theories that range from it being an alternate Maria Rambeau or, the more favored option but less likely option, Storm.

Explain Kamala’s true origins 592c3a

Ms. Marvel/Inhumans

Ms. Marvel ended on a really confusing note — what is Kamala? A part-Djinn, a mutant, or the first official entry for MCU’s Inhumans? Even though the chances of The Marvels focusing on anything but the bangles are slim, many are certain it will put an end to this confusion.

Say that Monica is also a mutant 654f

All she needed was to force her way through Wanda’s hex to get her powers — and that’s the only difference between her and everybody else who got taken over by Scarlet Witch’s magic. Since the question mark on Kamala’s true identity, every character suddenly acquiring powers is now on the mutant radar.

Debut the Inhumans 3p22p

Between Kamala’s messy origin clues and Anson Mount’s Black Bolt appearing in Doctor Strange 2, Inhumans getting an official introduction is on the demand list. But unless the MCU is powered by the real-life version of the Darhold, that is so not happening.

To include Thor 2n6s43

Thor making an appearance in Loki season 2 is a ship that has sailed. But the final trailer of the film showcasing Valkyrie has given way to wild theories cooking up the God of Thunder’s smash entry in the Captain Marvel sequel.

At best, the Asgardian warrior has a cameo appearance in the film that is set to focus on the MCU’s new team. But the running consensus is that Valkyrie is here to the three against Dar-benn. I can not roll my eyes hard enough.

Just because the team somewhat disbanded and James Gunn has said his goodbyes doesn’t mean they will pop up everywhere from now on.

Explain the repercussions of No Way Home 2z4j40

The Marvels has its own “crashing reality” to deal with before it jumps to address the after-effects of Peter’s bad decisions. Even MoM didn’t do that!

Confirm Wanda’s return 3119e

The OG Wanda is officially dead in the MCU, but it is certain that Elizabeth Olsen will return as the character, even if it’s an alternate version. But I am drawing a blank on why and how can The Marvels hint at her return.

Again, the connection is Monica, and completing the chain is the spin-off series. Do let me know if you see a coven of witches muttering “Double, double, toil, and trouble” while floating in space.

When a whole show dedicated to their not-so-secret invasion didn’t reveal it, why will The Marvels?

Wrap up MCU’s topmost forever plot hole — G’iah 3250n

G’iah is currently the most powerful character in the MCU, which effectively nullifies any and every individual or army’s chance of winning against her as well as devalues MCU’s tapestry of a dozen and half films with the heroes locked in a tussle with the villain(s). She can end any fight within seconds — there is no excitement, no stakes.

Show how Ritson will lose his seat 546w6s

Given MCU’s new trend of abrupt changes, the more plausible expectation should be Captain America 4 starting with Harrison Ford as President, with a throwaway line explaining why Ritson was sacked.

It is already a stretch to want Loki season 2 to conclude it. Hoping The Marvels to even acknowledge it is a pipe dream.

Introduce a Kang variant 2g435

He is, after all, the ultimate threat in Phase 5 and 6. But he is not going to appear in every single Marvel project, people! And given the direction Loki has taken, Kang or any of his variants might never mark their presence again.

Three minutes of playtime in another universe? No, thanks. ]]>
<![CDATA[

Spider-Man: No Way Home earned its place as easily the most successful of the MCU’s Multiverse Saga offerings so far with its 3x webslinger team-up, so you’d think a deeper dive into Spidey’s movie history would’ve been even more popular. Well, think again.

As we’ve become aware of before, exactly how Tom Holland’s Peter Parker would encounter Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s wall crawlers went through a few different iterations before the storyline we see play out was settled upon. It turns out that one version of the plot even saw Doctor Strange and Peter 1 pulled into Maguire and Garfield’s universes, allowing them to interact with familiar scenes from the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man films.

Concept artist Phil Saunders even revealed his artwork for these scenes, including one piece that inserts Benedict Cumberbatch and Holland’s Peter into Maguire’s battle with Bonesaw from 2002’s Spider-Man. Destined to leave fans drooling at the mouth, right? Actually, they kinda hate it.

Contrary to popular belief, Marvel fans don’t just care about crossovers above all else, as Redditors revealed they were “glad” these scenes were cut as they would’ve “served zero purpose for the story.”

For others, this just would’ve awkwardly highlighted the superior visuals of the earlier films in comparison to No Way Home.

Honestly, visiting other familiar universes seems like something we’re bound to do in Avengers: Secret Wars, so hopefully folks respond to that more positively than they do these nixed No Way Home crossovers.
