No need to wait for Doomsday!]]>
<![CDATA[

The identity of the next leader of the Avengers has been one of the biggest questions MCU fans have had since Avengers: Endgame removed both Iron Man and Steve Rogers from the board. Honestly, it’s been slightly less pressing since we found out Robert Downey Jr. (and maybe Chris Evans, too) was coming back in Doomsday — even though he might be the villain, that’s the movie’s star power sorted right there — but regardless, it’s still been a puzzle. 2b5f3y

The final piece of the puzzle, however, now appears to have fallen into place. We weren’t expecting to find out such major news this way, but a Marvel Studios producer has now given the game away about the future of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes while previewing Captain America: Brave New World. To be fair, Anthony Mackie’s first solo superhero movie is right around the corner — premiering in theaters on Valentine’s Day — but this news is still something of a surprise. Oh well, consider this your early Christmas present, Marvel lovers.

Producer Nate Moore had some intriguing things to say about both what’s next for the Avengers and what’s to come in this February’s Brave New World while teasing Marvel’s next movie off the production line to Empire. Moore promised that director Julius Onah’s film will find Sam Wilson “jumping out of the frying pan and into the proverbial fire.”

And, by the law of the MCU, whenever the stakes are raised, so is the movie’s budget as other A-list superheroes start to assemble. Sure enough, it sounds as if the new Avengers team will come together as soon as this next offering. Moore indicated that Sam will have to grapple with becoming the leader of the group himself, although he heavily hinted at which way this plotline will fall.

“I think that Avengers teams are best when they are led by a Captain America,” the producer had to say. “And this movie gives us a little bit of space to talk about, ‘Where are the Avengers? What does it mean to have Avengers? And is Sam the right guy to lead them?’”

Unless this is a huge bait and switch, it sure sounds like Sam will definitely be the leader of the Avengers from now on. So expect him to lead the charge against Downey’s Doctor Doom in 2026’s Doomsday. This makes the most sense, as — like Moore reminds us — Captain America typically acts as the team’s field leader, whether that be Steve or Sam. Many had suspected Tom Holland’s Spider-Man would be given the major promotion, due to his popularity. Or maybe even Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel or Chris Hemsworth’s Thor on of their sheer power levels.

Now that that mystery’s settled, the next big question needing answering is: who exactly will be on Sam’s Avengers roster? Do we have some big cameos coming in Brave New World? If this is where Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch is resurrected, a certain subset of the Marvel fandom will lose their minds. All will be revealed come Feb. 14, 2025.

Talk about defying gravity, because Wicked is already breaking records after just one day in theaters. In the run-up to the twin release of the Oz-sent musical and Gladiator II, there was talk that it could be a “Barbenheimer 2.0” — a fierce war between two cinematic titans. As it happens, it’s already abundantly clear who’s the lion in this battle, as Wicked‘s Thursday night preview performance was anything but cowardly.

The numbers are in and Wicked magicked up a whopping $19.2 million at the domestic box office on Thursday night. In contrast, Gladiator II earned itself a solid if unspectacular $6 million. So much for Glicked, because director Jon Chu’s fantastical extravaganza has straight-up sprinted past its immediate competition to become the fastest money-making musical ever. To put those figures in context, Wicked‘s preview gross is just shy of 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick ($19.3 million) and way past a totemic MCU movie — 2012’s The Avengers, which brought home $18.7 million from domestic previews.

Considering musicals have become such a dirty word in Hollywood of late, after a string of stage adaptations that performed poorly at the box office (Cats, Mean Girls, West Side Story… The show must go on and so does the list), this is a big deal. Are Ariana Grande’s Glinda and Cynthia Erivo‘s Elphaba about to change the fate of movie musicals for the better, and for good?

As one excited fan put it, this triumph over the actual Avengers could well “blow everything out of the water.” Er, actually, ixnay on the aterway around Elphaba.

Long-term Wicked lovers are feeling like the Jedi Force ghosts at the end of Return of the Jedi right now.

Some are already predicting Wicked is on course to cross $1 billion when the curtain goes down. And, going by these early stats, they might be onto something.

Others are foreseeing some major Oscar buzz, too. A commercial and critical hit? It looks like Wicked‘s all set to keep dancing through life.

“This is a massive W,” announced another X . What else is there to say about the wonderful way things worked out for Wicked?

To be clear, there are still many other Marvel movies that scored bigger previews than Wicked, including Doctor Strange 2, Thor 4, and every Avengers film barring the first, but this remains a huge win for the progeny of such an undervalued genre. Wicked‘s $19 mil is half of what Deadpool & Wolverine made on its opening Thursday ($38 million) earlier this year, but the stage is certainly set for it to fly on its broomstick to a billion if this momentum continues.

And thank goodness, because — I may be a sentimental man — but if Wicked can make this much moolah in one short day then no one will mourn not seeing the film by the end of its theatrical run. I’ve now run out of Wicked song titles to crowbar into my copy for Shiz and giggles, so all that’s left to say is you know what to do with your weekend. Wicked fans assemble.

If the Avengers are good at anything besides saving the world, it’s assembling, and seven of them have done just that in of presidential hopeful Kamala Harris

In a new video shared to X by Mark Ruffalo, the Incredible Hulk himself leads a group of fellow Marvel stars including Scarlett Johansson (who plays Black Widow), Don Cheadle (who plays War Machine), Chris Evans (who plays Captain America) and Robert Downey Jr. (who plays Iron Man).

While that list alone is enough to make Thanos (and Harris’ opponent, Donald Trump) shudder, the starry group is rounded out by fellow Marvel icons in the form of Black Panther’s Danai Jekesai Gurira and WandaVison’s Paul Bettany. Using their star power for good, the actors assembled to encourage people to vote ahead of the presidential election, with Ruffalo declaring the in caption that “in the #ElectionEndgame, every early vote counts.”

In a follow-up message, the actor urged voters not “to sit this one out,” and stressed the importance of key election issues like women’s reproductive rights, climate change [and] LGBTQIA+ rights. “This shit is real and it’s going to come for you,” Ruffalo wrote, while encouraging fans to bring their friends to voting booths.

Meanwhile, in the video, the Marvel stars engage in a brainstorming session around how to encourage people to vote, with Downey suggesting that the Harris campaign “needs a catchphrase.” Nothing quite says you’re Iron Man like the undying need for a slogan, so the group toss out a few ideas based on their respective Marvel roles. For his part, Evans plagiarises Captain America’s best-known quote “I can do this all day,” which prompts Downey to swiftly tell him to “shut up.”

Cheadle, meanwhile, suggests that Harris adopt the Age of Ultron quote “boom! You looking for this?,” before Gurira puts her hands across her chest and chants “Kamala forever.” As they begin to descend into a hilarious spiral of quotes, Ruffalo tries to intervene to put the group back on focus, with Bettany suggesting a catchphrase that seems to stick. “I’m down with democracy,” he says to much approval from the group.

Just when it appears the stars have landed on a Harris slogan, they twist its meaning into the exact opposite of what they were going for. “I’m Kamala Harris, and I say, down with democracy,” Cheadle says, prompting confusion from Ruffalo. At Johansson’s request, superhero-like sound production starts playing as the entire group butchers the slogan repeatedly.

“Together we’re gonna tear down democracy,” Cheadle says, concluding a campaign session that would probably give the real Harris a headache. The seven Avengers a long list of celebrities who’ve thrown their behind the Democratic candidate, with Beyoncé, Olivia Rodrigo, Mark Hamill and Barbra Striesand each rallying for Harris in the lead up to election day.

For his part, Ruffalo has been vocal about his opposition to Trump in recent weeks, describing the former president as a “silly old man” and criticizing his penchant for “whining.” If the Hulk said that to me, I’d drop out of the race and find comfort in too many servings of McDonald’s. That could also be in Trump’s future, but not before he says he says “down with democracy!”. That, my friends, is an Avengers-level threat.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist... in the MCU. ]]>
<![CDATA[

Marvel fans lost their minds when Agatha All Along episode 3 went and confirmed something we’ve been waiting for since the Multiverse Saga began — confirmation that none other than Mephisto exists in the MCU. The satanic supervillain has yet to appear in the red flesh just yet, but Jennifer Kale’s reference to an “agent of Mephisto” in the Disney Plus show’s third episode at last assures us he’s lurking around somewhere in the Sacred Timeline.

Mephisto fan theories have abounded throughout the MCU’s Phases Four and Five, and we can blame WandaVision for that, but the Hell-Lord never actually got a name-check in the franchise until now. Or did he? In the wake of Agatha‘s Mephisto mention, eagle-eyed fans have realized that Mephisto may have been hanging around the MCU… all along. Ever since 2012’s The Avengers, in fact!

Wait, when did Mephisto show up in The Avengers? 14323q

As pointed out on X by @NerdGamer91, Mephisto’s very first namedrop appeared in The Avengers a full 12 years ago, but this has hardly been noticed until now. When Nick Fury recruits Steve Rogers into his Avengers initiative, he hands Cap some files to bring him up to speed on the Tesseract. If you pause the scene as Steve is rifling through the pages, you can see that the write-up includes a reference to Mephisto. While this was no doubt intended as a subtle prop design joke, the fact that it means Mephisto’s name appears on screen for the first time in the MCU earns it an unexpectedly greater significance in the grand scheme of things.

The only hitch is that a closer inspection of the text in question reveals it’s dated rather badly and might not necessarily be considered canon anymore. “Mephisto has postulated that the Cubes are hosts to a semi-sentient will and that, even in Cube form, they can choose how they want to be used and to deny certain wishes,” it reads.” Mephisto also has proposed that a billion-sentient universally-linked wills could overcome this problem and that the Cubes could be as powerful as the Infinity Gems.

Apart from the curious fact that Mephisto is apparently a source of intel for S.H.I.E.L.D. — they have informants everywhere, I guess, even hell — this text indicates that the Tesseract is a separate construct from the Infinity “Gems.” It wasn’t until after The Avengers came out that Marvel not only decided to rename the Infinity Gems the Infinity Stones, but also confirmed that the Tesseract was one of the Infinity Stones itself.

We’re still not entirely sure if his Agatha mention will lead to an actual appearance from him or not, but thanks to both that name-drop in episode 3 and this rediscovered reference in The Avengers it’s becoming clearer that Mephisto has been stalking the MCU from the shadows for the longest time, perhaps even keeping an eye on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes — and its most powerful witches — as he waits for the right moment to make himself known.

Exactly when that right moment will be is somewhat unknown at present. Reports once indicated that Sacha Baron Cohen was secretly cast in the role for a surprise appearance in the Ironheart series. However, that show has been so thoroughly redeveloped since then that no one currently knows how much of the original plan survives. If he has been insinuating himself in the MCU since the Battle of New York, however, Mephisto finally entering the fray to fight the successor to Tony Stark’s legacy would actually make a fair amount of sense.

The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman goliath continues to smash everything in its path -- whether its villains or Marvel records.]]>
<![CDATA[

Anyone with a functioning brain knew Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine would be a significant cinematic success, so it’s wildly impressive that it’s succeeded in breaking even those expectations.

As per The Numbers, the movie has grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the all-time leader for R-rated movies at the global box office. Its $623 million haul in the United States also makes it the all-time winner when it comes to R-rated films domestically.

Other tables it sits at the summit of include the biggest July domestic weekend ($411 million), the top R-rated domestic weekend ($211 million), the top R-rated domestic day ($96.2 million), and the top domestic July day ($96.2 million).

Even though the movie’s traction has now drastically and understandably decreased (it’s been in theaters for almost two months), it’s still smashing records, some of which have to be described as “unexpected.” But which barrier has it busted through lately?

Deadpool & Wolverine’s domestic haul of $623 million makes it the fifth highest-grossing superhero movie of all time in the United States, suring 2012’s The Avengers. Despite The Avengers being 12 years old and inflation potentially inhibiting it in a direct battle with Deadpool & Wolverine, anyone who says they thought Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s film would touch it is telling little white lies. At one point, the MCU Phase One ensemble was the third highest-grossing movie of all time at the global box office, and it never had the restraints of an R-rating holding it back.

Moreover, Deadpool & Wolverine is also the second highest-grossing MCU movie since Avengers: Endgame (2019). To put that into perspective, that period of time comprises five years and 11 films; Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Black Widow (2021), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Eternals (2021), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), and The Marvels (2023). Only Spider-Man: No Way Home ($1.9 billion worldwide) has outgrossed it.

It remains to be seen whether Deadpool & Wolverine has enough steam left to any other significant milestones. Its next somewhat realistic target should be overtaking Black Panther to become the sixth highest-grossing superhero movie globally. It’s currently around $34 million behind Black Panther’s haul of $1.334 billion, so it seems unlikely for now but not impossible. Never say never — Deadpool and Wolverine don’t give up easily, after all.

From 'Captain America' to 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' this is your chronological go-to guide for the best Marvel Cinematic Universe viewing experience. ]]>
<![CDATA[

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the most in-depth and successful franchise of all time during its 16-year run at the box office. While it began with Iron Man in 2008, for fans following the narrative, that’s not where the story actually begins.

There are currently 34 movies in the MCU — soon to be 35 with Captain America: Brave New World — released in five phases. Phases One through Three, known as the Infinity Saga, collectively bring viewers closer to the arrival of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and its epic follow-up, Avengers: Endgame. Meanwhile, phases Four through Six, known as the Multiverse Saga, began in 2021 and will eventually bring viewers closer to Robert Downey Jr.’s ultimate MCU comeback as Doctor Doom in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday and its subsequent multiversal showdown in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. : Kang is a thing of the past.

Phase Four began in 2021 with the Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and continued into 2022 with three major franchise sequels: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Phase Five began in 2023 and also included four franchise sequels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and most recently Deadpool & Wolverine.

Following the success of Marvel’s Disney Plus streaming hits like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, we’ve received fresh entries like Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Secret Invasion, Loki season 2, and soon Agatha All Along. They aim to continue the budding tradition of bringing focused character studies to the small screen, but in light of criticism over reduced quality, Marvel has scaled back these productions a bit. Nevertheless, these shows tie into the larger Marvel universe, which is actually more of a multiverse now. However, those shows won’t be mentioned on this list, as this list pertains to feature films only.

There are numerous ways to enjoy Marvel films, including the order in which they were released, or drawn out of a hat at random, although that last option isn’t recommended for first-time viewers. However, in this article, we’ll be breaking down the chronological timeline of all films in the MCU so you can watch them in the correct narrative order. An at-a-glance lineup of Phases One through Three can be found below:

Screengrab via Disney Plus

Below is a breakdown of every MCU film in narrative-timeline order, all of which, save Deadpool & Wolverine, are available to stream now on Disney Plus. Thanks to Marvel’s official The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline, we now have a clearer picture of not only what is and isn’t MCU canon, but also whether the nuggets of information we’ve compiled over the years do, indeed, fit into the slots we’ve given them. Spoiler alert: they do.

Captain America: The First Avenger 47504y

Taking place first in the timeline, Captain America: The First Avenger provides the origin story for one of Marvel’s most popular heroes, Steve Rogers, played by the dynamite Chris Evans. This film mostly takes place in 1942 and showcases Rogers’ journey from a scrawny infantry soldier to full-blown Captain America who faces off against Red Skull.

Captain Marvel 2q673

Next up is Captain Marvel, which is set in 1995, much closer to modern times. This movie is the first in the timeline to explore space travel and intergalactic threats. As we are introduced to both Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and soon-to-be S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), the pair gets involved in the conflict between the Kree and the Skrulls, with surprising results.

Iron Man 5we3w

The third film in the timeline was the very first Marvel film to be released: Iron Man. The billionaire philanthropist-turned-superhero Tony Stark has his origin story told in this fan-favorite film. Thanks to its box office success and fans’ adoration of Robert Downey Jr.’s performance, the film ultimately kicked off the entire MCU franchise.

Iron Man 2 6t1j5d

Picking up shortly after the events of the first Iron Man, Iron Man 2 continues the story of the suited superhero now with his identity known to the public. Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke), the son of a scientist who previously worked at Stark Industries, is back with a grudge and creates his own weaponry with the goal of taking revenge for his fallen father. The film also introduces a soon-to-be Avenger in Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

The Incredible Hulk 3t3210

While many fans may choose to forego 2008’s The Incredible Hulk in their MCU binge given that it features Ed Norton in the role instead of Mark Ruffalo (who later became the official Banner), it’s still technically a part of the MCU timeline. This movie gives fans a unique take on the Hulk’s origin story and hints at more things to come in the closing credits.

Thor 3hy18

Thor’s initial big-screen debut took place in 2011 and gave fans their first look at Asgard and other realms via the Bifrost. This one finds the titular god traveling to Earth to defend the world from Loki and a Frost Giant threat. For many moviegoers, this was their introduction to the beloved character, played by Chris Hemsworth, and for many it solidly delivered.

The Avengers i2i64

The first crossover film in the timeline came with The Avengers, which was set at the conclusion of Marvel’s Phase One. The Avengers brought together Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, the Hulk, and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) to protect the Earth from Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the Chitauri invasion. The movie also played a key role in introducing the Tesseract as the first of the Infinity Stones. These stones were ultimately the key to all future plans in the MCU.

Thor: The Dark World 2u6o32

The second Thor film in the MCU, Thor: The Dark World, gives us a closer look at Asgard, its inner workings, and the relationship between Thor, his brother Loki, and their father, Odin. The film also gives us insight into the second Infinity Stone, the Aether, which was wielded by the movie’s antagonists, the Dark Elves. Though it’s largely considered one of the less-impressive Marvel films, it serves its purpose and thankfully paves the way for a wonderful Thor threequel.

Iron Man 3 6x4gp

In Iron Man 3, Tony Stark deals with anxiety after experiencing the intergalactic invasion of the Chitauri. After diving into full damage control mode and assembling an army of suits, he’s forced to choose between being Iron Man and protecting those he loves. Meanwhile, he must also deal with the looming threat of “The Mandarin.”

Captain America: The Winter Soldier 1w5r39

Hailed as one of the best films in the entire MCU franchise, Captain America: The Winter Soldier introduces viewers to more of Captain America’s past and throws Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier, back into the fray. The movie also reveals the hidden HYDRA threat still present among the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D that ultimately leads to its demise.

Guardians of the Galaxy 6q4w5x

When it was announced that Disney was going to bring the Guardians to the big screen, many were skeptical, but Guardians of the Galaxy turned out to be one of the best space films ever, let alone one in the MCU. It introduced us to Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel), an unlikely team that attempts to stop the plot of Ronan the Acc (Lee Pace) from using the Power Stone to destroy Xandar.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 3771d

Taking place shortly after the first film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 gives us a closer look at Peter Quill’s backstory and heritage while also introducing a new member to the squad in the form of Mantis (Pom Klementieff). The story also dives deeper into the sibling rivalry between Gamora and Nebula (Karen Gillan) and shines a light on their relationship with their adoptive father, Thanos, which would pay off in just a few short films.

Avengers: Age of Ultron 682n13

Crossing over once again, the cast of the original Avengers film s forces to defend the Earth from the threat of Ultron (James Spader), a supercomputer developed to be a peacekeeping program by Tony Stark, which overrides its programming and now seeks to eliminate all mankind. In the latter half of the film, the Avengers get a few new additions in the form of Vision (Paul Bettany) and the Maximoff twins, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Pietro (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).

Ant-Man 591j15

Ant-Man tells the story of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a thief who is recruited by Dr. Hank Pym to assist him with stopping the plot of his former protège, who cast him away from his own company. During the film, Lang becomes Ant-Man after being gifted a suit and trained to use Pym Particles to shrink his size, giving him superhuman strength and the ability to control ants.

Captain America: Civil War 3p75p

While not an Avengers film by name, Captain America: Civil War brings most of the superhero cast together for a face-off over a disagreement on the Sokovia Accords following the events of Age of Ultron. Civil War was also used to introduce a few new characters to the Avengers’ roster, including Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

Black Widow 49f4r

Finally getting her own origin film after being part of the MCU for over a decade, Natasha Romanoff heads back to her roots in Black Widow, which launched earlier this year. The film introduced us to Natasha’s sister, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), who fans got to see again in Hawkeye and who will undoubtedly be appearing again, possibly in a villainous team-up compliments of a certain character who appears in the post-credits scene.

Spider-Man: Homecoming 432h3h

Despite what the movie may have led you to believe, it does not take place eight years after The Avengers. Marvel finally addressed the snafu after years of sweeping it under the rug in the official Marvel Studios: The MCU — An Official Timeline book, confirming it was indeed only four years after the Battle of New York. Taking place right after the events of Civil War, Spider-Man’s MCU debut chose not to retell the hero’s origin story, instead giving us a coming-of-age film that finds Peter Parker juggling his duties as Spider-Man with the demands of high school. There are plenty of comic book Spidey villains teased throughout the film, but his biggest threat is the Vulture, menacingly played by Michael Keaton, who is apparently bad with math.

Black Panther 5g1r6t

Instead of an origin story, when we pick up in Black Panther, T’Challa has already taken on the mantle as the titular hero after the ing of his father in Civil War. This film gives viewers their first look at the inner workings of the afrofuturistic Wakanda, as well as an epic tale of personal and ideological rivalry between T’Challa and Killmonger (Michael B Jordan).

Doctor Strange 2l3v18

The first time we are treated to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) in the MCU is in his self-titled film. The story explores the origins of Stephen Strange’s character and teases the ideas of multiple dimensions, cosmic beings, and time-traveling threats. As you’d expect, the Time Stone is also a crucial element of the film and only becomes more important from here on out. Other standout characters in the film include Dr. Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams), Wong (Benedict Wong), Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), and The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton).

Thor: Ragnarok 306w67

Directed by Taika Waititi and taking on a different style and tone than the previous Thor films, Ragnarok has a more comical personality while maintaining high-quality action sequences. The film addresses many of the loose ends following Age of Ultron and follows Thor and Loki as they attempt to stop their half-sister, Hela (Cate Blanchett) from taking over Asgard. The ending of this film offers a jaw-dropping lead-in to what quickly becomes the beginning of the end of the Infinity Saga.

Avengers: Infinity War 6d215i

The first part of the epic culmination of all the previous MCU films, Avengers: Infinity War finally gives us our first major introduction to Thanos (Josh Brolin), who has been working behind the scenes to gather the Infinity Stones with the goal of wiping out half of all life in the universe with a snap of his fingers. The movie takes place in 2018 and ultimately, leaves fans with a stunning cliffhanger that segues directly into Avengers: Endgame.

Ant-Man and the Wasp 6e5a4l

The sequel to Ant-Man, this film takes place at the same time as the events of Infinity War in 2018 and does a great job of telling its own story within the Ant-Man comic book canon. This one digs deeper into the relationship between Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and her mother (Michelle Pfeiffer), and also introduces a mysterious new villain, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). Just like Infinity War, the final moments of this film leave viewers breathless for answers in anticipation of the impending Endgame.

Avengers: Endgame 61293i

The epic conclusion to over a decade of storytelling, Avengers: Endgame has everything fans could ever want in a Marvel film. It takes place in October 2023, five years after the events of Infinity War, and sees the remaining Avengers attempt to regain hope of defeating Thanos and restore what was lost after his infamous “Snap,” which was later renamed “The Blip.” In the closing act, Endgame boasts one of the most epic action sequences in all of cinema, blasting expectations wide open and forever changing the MCU as we know it.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 6b33w

Shang-Chi is one of the latest heroes to the MCU, and in this first film exploring his character’s origin, we learn more about his role amidst the greater events playing out within the franchise. Alongside his friend Katy (Awkwafina), Shang-Chi is drawn back into the life he used to know and must face the father (Tony Chiu-Wai Leung) he thought he left behind. During the iconic bus fight scene between Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings operative Gao Lei, we’re shown the dates July 21 to 28 in a Jazz Blues Festival ment. Since Katy’s grandma also mentions the “Day of the Dead,” a festival resembling the Chinese Qingming Festival — which takes place in April — and the film itself spans two weeks, we can assume the movie takes place in April 2024. This would put it before Far From Home.

Spider-Man: Far From Home 6b2t2s

Picking up right after Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home addresses the events that took place during the previous film while also introducing some new faces and returning characters from the past. It takes place during the summer of 2024, eight months after The Blip. This is the perfect bridging point to close out Phase Three and enter Phase Four of the MCU — after watching Shang-Chi, of course.

Eternals 1s9i

With its many flashbacks telling the story not only of the Eternals themselves but also the history of the universe, it can be difficult to give this film a true place in the MCU timeline. That said, its present-day moments take place around the same time as Far From Home in 2024, likely just afterward given that the events of the film were not mentioned in the Spider-Man sequel. Fans and critics were largely split on the film (to put it mildly), except in regard to that colorful cameo by Harry Styles in the post-credits scene. Whether Styles will actually return to the MCU is another matter entirely.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Logan took place in 2029, so Deadpool & Wolverine must also take place during or after that, meaning it should be at the bottom of this list. Well, no. The Merc with the Mouth’s first foray into the MCU actually occurs in 2024. We know this because after Happy Hogan rejects Wade’s request to the Avengers (on March 14, 2018, on Earth-616) the time stamp on the screen tells us we jump six years into the future — back on Earth-1005 — which would place the film in 2024. And because we see Wade celebrating his birthday and he’s said in the comics that he’s a Scorpio (on the cusp of a Libra, thank you very much) — and because Deadpool & Wolverine showcases a decent amount of fall foliage — we can safely assume the film occurs in October 2024. As for why Earth-10005’s Wolverine is already dead at the beginning of Deadpool & Wolverine when Logan’s death shouldn’t have occurred for another five years — well, it’s likely that Wade jumped forward in time using the TVA’s TemPad. That, or we’re just going to file the mistake away with all of Marvel’s other embarrassing timeline errors.

Spider-Man: No Way Home 6f1f57

Spider-Man: No Way Home takes place immediately after its predecessor, Far From Home around Nov. 2024. The film brings Peter Parker on the most mind-blowing adventure of his life ⏤ which, unfortunately, no one but he will . The film saw him grapple with everything from losing his Aunt May, to facing off against villains from completely different universes. It also led to Peter finding an unexpected brotherhood with alternate versions of himself, perfectly brought to life by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in tear-inducing appearances that will stand the test of time.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 561g47

Benedict Cumberbatch’s return as the title character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness picked up after the events of No Way Home. It saw Strange deal with the implications of multiversal travel while facing new friends and foes, some of whom created serious trouble for him (ahem – Wanda). Wanda’s future was thrown into flux after she was presumably killed off in the movie’s final moments, but she is rumored to return in a Disney Plus spin-off series, which may or may not happen since Marvel subtly announced that the Earth-616 version of the character is canonically dead. Strange, too, received a cliffhanger ending, something we hope will be addressed in the rumored Doctor Strange 3.

In the meantime, you can rest assured that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness takes place after Spider-Man: No Way Home, which takes place right around the events of Hawkeye, which takes place around Christmas 2024.

Thor: Love and Thunder 4h62a

Thanks to Disney Plus, we now know that — in the eyes of Marvel Studios — this film takes place after Doctor Strange 2. It also takes place after Ms. Marvel, which is believed to take place around Sept. 2025 because of the school’s homecoming dance. However, in Love and Thunder Jane Foster’s eppendorf vial’s tag includes the date April 30, suggesting it takes place in the beginning of 2025. Unfortunately, since we don’t know exactly when Thor and Jane broke up, the God of Thunder’s comments about their breakup happening 8 years 7 months and 6 days before the movie doesn’t exactly paint a clear picture either. Our best bet is to just assume Love and Thunder takes place in April 2025, especially when looking at the next MCU installments on the timeline.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 373f4w

According to Black Panther Wakanda Forever producer Nate Moore, we have a place in the timeline to slot Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Moore says that this film takes place alongside the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, around the start of 2025, so for all rewatching purposes you should be able to enjoy either film first. This placement would make a lot of sense, since neither film directly affects the events of the other. Secret Invasion, on the other hand, almost had us questioning the timing of things when our favorite CIA from Wakanda Forever was revealed to be a Skrull (that was all put to rest in the season finale, though).

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 2p265m

For those who are sticklers for dates, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania takes place during the start of 2025, like Wakanda Forever. How do we know this? A news clip in Wakanda Forever mentions Scott Lang’s book tour, and because book tours don’t last entire years, Quantumania definitely takes place before The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which occurs later that year during Christmastime, which also means it takes place before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. However, Disney Plus messed with the timeline when it decided to place Quantumania after The Guardians Holiday Special, which it most certainly is not, resulting in MODOK-sized canon headache, if you ask us. It wouldn’t be the first time Disney Plus goofed with the MCU’s timeline, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as the time Quantumania was accidentally erased from Phase Five. (Don’t worry, it’s not).

The Marvels g4h6j

Ms. Marvel provides us with a pretty good guestimation where The Marvels takes place on the MCU timeline. Because the Disney Plus series is believed to take place around Sept. 2025 and Kamala Khan’s body-swapping problem doesn’t go unaddressed long, The Marvels likely takes place before 2026, which means it comes before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Carol Danvers’ intergalactic team-up with Captain Rambeau and Kamala to defeat the Kree general Dar-Benn in the highly-anticipated sequel to her billion-dollar predecessor, Captain Marvel, also happens to be the shortest movie in MCU history. Should any information in the movie, which will premiere in just a few short days, contradict this entry, we will revise it ASAP.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 6x4o5f

It’s hard to give Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 an exact place on the MCU’s timeline since it is unaffected by previous films and has little effect on the overall MCU storyline. However, it’s safe to say that this intergalactic, twisty-turny threequel takes place in 2026 since it occurs after the events of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special in Dec. 2025. As a rule of thumb, here’s every MCU movie you should watch before starting Vol. 3.

The Avengers assembled again for the greatest cause.]]>
<![CDATA[

The cast of 2012’s The Avengers has reunited for the best project: to dub the iconic film in Lakota, and it’s all thanks to Mark Ruffalo.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe films are beloved internationally, having fans all over the world. Throughout Marvel Studios’ Phases One to Five, the films have grossed billions worldwide, and most of them received great from the critics and the audience alike. Although the original Avengers team, which included Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Mark Ruffalo, haven’t been a part of the franchise in several years, they reunited for a celebratory cause.

The latest MCU project reunited the original cast to give something back to the Native American people. The original actors assembled again to release Marvel Studios’ The Avengers in the native Lakota language, and the version is now available on Disney Plus.

Mark Ruffalo is the real hero behind this heroic move 2pj19

Marvel Studios’ The Avengers is available in many different languages on Disney+, including Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Italian, and, of course, English. Now, the dubbed versions also include Lakota. Lakota is a dying language, spoken by approximately 2,000 people of the Sioux tribes, and the new move to have The Avengers available in this language is a huge win in trying to keep it alive. And the real-life hero behind it is Mark Ruffalo.

The actor, who portrays Bruce Banner/ The Hulk in the MCU, is a huge er of the Lakota people. In the past, he had collaborated with the Lakota community on several projects, including the documentary Lakota Nation vs. United States, which he executively produced. Now he has managed to bring everyone together for his celebratory cause, including Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner, who was still in recovery after his near-fatal snow plow accident. Ruffalo revealed that “everyone was into it,” and he was happy to do the project.

“Just getting everyone together on the same page was probably the most difficult thing. But everyone really was into it. It’s a daunting language: There are sounds that we just don’t have in our language that they have in theirs. But once you start to get there, it feels really good.”

Dubbing the film took over 15 months, and 62 Lakota-Dakota speakers were involved, alongside the original cast of The Avengers.

“You have the most famous film franchise in the world and some of the most famous actors, celebrities, and characters speaking our Lakota language that was once banned,” Lakota dub executive producer Ray Taken Alive explained. “So, a really beautiful thing from the project is that our language doesn’t have to hide anymore.”

In the original behind-the-scenes video, all of the Avengers actors were committed to saying it right, proving that they are real-life heroes, at least for the Lakota people.

From key birthdays to the shooting of major movies, April 25 is an important day for the entertainment industry.]]>
<![CDATA[

April 25 might be a simple weekday in most people’s lives, but it marks some massive events in entertaining history. That’s because April 25 is the birthday of a Hollywood legend and the beginning of a production that would change the world forever. As we look back and reflect on how each day is vital for pop culture, here are some things worth ing.

Happy birthday, Al Pacino 2l51z

Al Pacino in The Godfather

Alfredo James Pacino was born on April 25, 1940. Al Pacino – as he would be known everywhere – revolutionized cinema by starring in one of the best movies ever made, The Godfather. He would also return for the arguably better sequel, The Godfather Part II, and the underrated threequel, The Godfather Part III. The fact that Al Pacino got an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in all three chapters of the trilogy should serve as proof of his immeasurable talent.

That barely scratches the surface of Al Pacino’s prominent career, as he was nominated for the same Academy Award in dozens of other movies, such as Heat, Scarface, Insomnia, The Devil’s Advocate… The list goes on! The star only got a single Academy Award for Best Actor – for his role in Scent of a Woman – which doesn’t reflect his performances’ impact on millions of people. That is already reason enough for celebrating April 25, when one of the best actors in history came to life.

Nicki Minaj’s theatrical debut happened on April 25 1x5e3x

On April 25, 2014, The Other Woman hit theaters. This unusual rom-com follows Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton as three women who discover they are dating the same men. The triple treason gives the trio reason enough to forces and each other while getting revenge against the bastard who lied to them. The Other Woman is also important because it marks Nicki Minaj’s first film credit.

Nicki Minaj began her prolific career as a rapper, singer, and songwriter in 2004. However, it would take her 10 years to appear on the silver screen. That happened on April 25, another peculiar event that helps make the date relevant.

The Avengers visited New Mexico when the MCU was still crawling rj38

Nowadays, it’s impossible to imagine a filmmaking landscape where the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t exist. Disney’s profitable franchise has set the tone for other studios to build their IPs, and few projects have been so influential as the MCU. While 2008’s Iron Man kicked off this ambitious multi-film story, it wasn’t until 2012’s The Avengers that all loose threads were tied, and people everywhere could bask in the glory of a record-breaking superhero project that transformed niche characters into mainstream icons.

As it turns out, principal photography for The Avengers began on April 25 in New Mexico. Curiously, New Mexico had already been the home for 2011’s Thor before welcoming the other Avengers, as it’s there that the Prince of Asgard landed after being banished from the Norse paradise. It’s funny to look back and think about how the stakes were high, and The Avengers‘ failure could mean the MCU’s premature death. The Avengers was such a game changer that Disney can now keep releasing lukewarm movies and TV shows without killing the franchise. It all started on April 25, when the cameras rolled to capture the Mightiest Heroes of the Earth together in live-action for the first time.

‘The Avengers’ veteran has already told us the worst thing Joss Whedon did during his Marvel career 2k6r49 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/movies/the-avengers-veteran-has-already-told-us-the-worst-thing-joss-whedon-did-during-his-marvel-career/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/movies/the-avengers-veteran-has-already-told-us-the-worst-thing-joss-whedon-did-during-his-marvel-career/#respond <![CDATA[Christian Bone]]> Tue, 16 Jan 2024 18:29:09 +0000 <![CDATA[Marvel]]> <![CDATA[Movies]]> <![CDATA[News]]> <![CDATA[Joss Whedon]]> <![CDATA[MCU]]> <![CDATA[The Avengers]]> https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1648395 <![CDATA[
"I think he's a bad person." ]]>
<![CDATA[

Even superheroes rarely fly so high only to fall as far as Joss Whedon. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator was already popular among nerd circles, but he became a true geek god upon directing The Avengers in 2012 and helped Marvel reshape the face of cinema as we know it.

What happened next would probably take its own blockbuster-sized movie to cover, but suffice it to say mixed reactions to sequel Age of Ultron and hideous reviews for his theatrical cut of Justice League saw the wheels already begin to come off the Whedon hype train. And then when Buffy and Justice League cast and crew came forward to denounce the writer/director/producer’s toxic workplace behavior, that sealed the deal. A decade after The Avengers and Whedon is unlikely to direct another superhero movie ever again.

And yet Whedon’s time with Marvel has skipped much of the controversy his many TV showrunning jobs and his brief stint at DC have endured. However, one veteran of the movie has come forward to share their own shocking and upsetting experience with the director.

Joss Whedon made one harsh decision on The Avengers that cost an old friend millions 604m1

If you’ve ever paid attention to The Avengers‘ credits, you might’ve noticed that while Whedon gets a full “written by” credit he shares the “story by” credit with Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk, Free Guy). In actual fact, Penn wrote the entire original screenplay for the film.

When Whedon was hired as a director, Penn hoped that they might collaborate in some form, something that didn’t seem impossible given that they were actually old friends. Both Whedon and Penn had attended Wesleyan University together and somewhat traveled in the same circles. Unfortunately for Penn, Whedon could not have been more cold to the idea.

“He didn’t even want to meet with me – which, by the way, I always call the writer I’m replacing. I feel like that’s courtesy,’ Penn revealed in tell-all book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios. Taking the initiative to reach out himself, Penn was faced with a cruel snub: “He said to me, ‘No, it’s not awkward for me. I’m rewriting you.’ It became pretty apparent that he had less than zero interest in, in any way, having me involved with the movie.”

Penn, who had been working on The Avengers for years at that point, pleaded with Whedon to think about how being removed from the project would affect his reputation, and even that of his children.

“My kids have grown up while I’ve been working on it. They’ve all told their friends about it. What’s going to happen when their friends are like, ‘Your dad didn’t work on Avengers’">Ray Fisher, who ultimately assembled to turn Whedon’s reputation around.

The MCU's loss is the Whoniverse's gain. ]]>
<![CDATA[

David Tennant‘s return for Doctor Who‘s 60th anniversary is the perfect birthday present for the Whoniverse, as the arrival of the Fourteenth Doctor has helped relaunch the sci-fi institution for a brand-new era. One powered and partially funded by Disney.

Tennant is no stranger to working with Disney, of course, as he recently voiced Huyang in Ahsoka and once played Kilgrave in Marvel’s Jessica Jones. Before he became the Purple Man, however, Tennant came close to playing one of the founding of the MCU’s Avengers — a career move that, if successful, may well have had the butterfly effect of preventing him from returning to Doctor Who a decade later.

Doctor Who fans may know that Tennant, like them, is a lifelong lover of the series, but what is less well-known is that Tennant’s other childhood ion was Marvel. The Scottish actor was an avid Marvel Comics reader as a kid and, in particular, was a massive fan of the Incredible Hulk.

It was no surprise, then, that when Marvel were looking to replace Edward Norton for 2012’s The Avengers, Tennant’s name entered the ring to be the new Bruce Banner. Back in 2010, The Los Angeles Times listed the actor among those who the studio was considering for the role. Obviously, though, Mark Ruffalo won out in the end, going on to star as Bruce throughout the Infinity Saga and beyond.

Tennant has never publicly commented on being in the running for Hulk — actors who’ve missed out on Marvel roles rarely do, probably because of NDAs — so we’re unclear how close he came to landing it. However, he has continued to gush about his love for the character. When asked to name his favorite superhero at Madison Wizard World 2016, Tennant said:

“When I was a kid, it was Incredible Hulk. Definitely. Definitely. Because there was something about how he wasn’t quite a hero. It was deeply tragic, his story. Partly the TV show but also the comic books — this sense that he was almost like a child, he was kind of lost. I just loved it and I think that’s a brilliant character. I used to love him.”

Ever since leaving Doctor Who originally in 2010, Tennant has continued to be a regular presence on TV screens — in addition to Jessica Jones, he’s also appeared in such other hit shows as Broadchurch and Good Omens. If he had become the MCU’s Hulk, however, then not only would his Marvel commitments have swamped his schedule, it could well have seen his entire career pivot to movies over TV. So we probably would’ve had to say goodbye to Crowley and the Fourteenth Doctor.

Tennant might’ve achieved a lifelong dream come true if he had managed to play Bruce Banner, but his fans should be relieved things played out as they did. Besides, he’s already portrayed one of his boyhood heroes — twice over, in fact — in the Doctor, so his inner child is still one happy kid.

We all know Thor thinks it's him, but... is he though? ]]>
<![CDATA[

In a hilarious moment in Thor: Ragnarok, Thor attempts to pilot a S.H.I.E.L.D. quinjet, but first he has to say his team codename as a . Although he’s sure it’s “Strongest Avenger,” Tony Stark has actually set it to “Point Break.”

The Asgardian is certain of his status as the biggest gun out of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but is that really the case? Sure, it’s pretty easy to argue that’s a fact based on the original six founding of the team, but the MCU has grown exponentially in the decade plus change since the Avengers first assembled, with the franchise’s roster of heroes now encoming many more characters who could make strong claims to steal Thor’s preferred title.

Of course, a few of these might never have actually been card-carrying of the Avengers in the MCU to date, so they’re disqualified. But out of those who have served on the team at some point, who are the top 5 strongest Avengers of them all?

5. Hulk d1c2q

There’s no denying that the Hulk is one of the strongest Avengers. We all saw him fling Loki around Stark Tower like he was a rag doll in 2012.

Bruce Banner has given us small details throughout his MCU appearances that explain just how truly strong the Hulk is. , the Hulk was made in an attempt gone bad at a super soldier serum recreation, and that the Green Guy is almost 100% gamma radiation. The transformation, or “incidents” as Banner calls them, happen when he is made exceptionally angry (until he learns to “always be angry”). Anger is an incredible power in the Hulk’s hands for both good and bad. All that needs to be mentioned are the stairs in Avengers: Endgame. Banner had a temper tantrum because he couldn’t take the elevator, which ended up not only blowing out a wall and further injuring civilians, but also made him to blame for Loki escaping.

In The Avengers, there’s a brief, but important scene where Banner tells Fury that the Hulk can’t be killed. “I know, I’ve tried,” he says, which brings the tone to something darker that isn’t usually talked about in regards to Banner or the Hulk: Banner’s torturous existence as both monster and man, “I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out,” Banner revealed.

The Hulk is unkillable. He is the epitome of brute strength, which is one of the only reasons the Hulk isn’t higher on this list. While he’s beyond powerful, he sheer strength and capability is not a controlled power like the rest of the Avengers.

4. Vision 454i9

The Infinity Stones are shown in the MCU as the strongest forces in the Universe. Considering Vision’s life is granted by the Mind Stone, that means he’s 1/6th as powerful as the Stones combined.

While he partially started out as Tony Stark’s AI assistant, Vision later became sentient after battling it out with Ultron and being left in fragments across the internet. Vision claimed he was neither Ultron or Jarvis, but a new sentient being that vowed to protect humanity. While we usually see Vision remain relatively peaceful, he’s obviously very strong as well as intelligent. We don’t see how he kills Ultron, but we see a flash of light that the threat’s been dealt with.

Because Vision is a synthezoid, he possesses abilities and powers most of the other Avengers couldn’t even dream of. From being a master in combat, as shown in his fight sequences with Clint and the White Vision, to all of his superhuman abilities, there’s not much Vision can’t do. Just ask Ant-Man: During the airport scene in Captain America: Civil War, we get to see more of Vision’s fighting when he takes down an oversized version of the size-changing hero, treating him as if he were a paper-weight. And once WandaVision aired, we glimpsed a whole new side of Vision. The version of Vision was far more humane, which also meant he was quicker to react with emotions, and he was able to manipulate the density of his body with ease.

Above all else though, Vision is the Mind Stone, which gives him a set of powers comparable only to Wanda or Doctor Strange (who narrowly missed out on a place in this ranking).

3. Thor 1ij5t

Sorry, Thor! We love you, but you’ve only made it to number three. That may seem controversial, but things will make sense soon enough. Not that this is to suggest Thor is a pipsqueak. He’s a 1500 year deity, for crying out loud.

The best place to start is him being worthy enough to lift Mjolnir, even after his drunken antics got him kicked out of Asgard in his first movie. Flash forward seven years to Avengers: Infinity War’s release, and he’s like a brand new hero, one who is nearly as loyal as Captain America. In Infinity War, we see Thor in space trying to forge a new weapon after the destruction of his hammer. Since Thanos has already demolished Nidavellir, it is Thor who holds open the mechanism and takes the full power of a star through him. He’s a literal god, not many characters can compete with that.

If there was any doubt though, seeing him face Thanos at the end of Infinity War and into Endgame only proves his strength. Thanos even sees and fears it when he calmly tells Thor, “Should’ve gone for the head” after the god landed a blow that did actual damage. This quote comes full circle in Endgame when they find Thanos in The Garden and Thor uses Stormbreaker to cut his head off with little to no hesitation.

Sure, there can be an argument made for Thanos being weaker without the stones, but he is still a Titan and Thor still chopped his head off.

2. Captain Marvel 5a5x4i

Introduced in 2019’s Captain Marvel, Brie Larson’s heroine has been widely regarded as the most powerful Avenger currently in the MCU and for good reason. Captain Marvel’s energy powers come from the Tesseract itself and grants her both incredible speed and the ability to fire blasts of energy at her foes.

Alongside this acquired strength, Carol Danvers also has Kree blood running through her veins gifting, her extreme durability and strength that is on full display during her altercation with Thanos at the conclusion of Endgame. Where a headbutt sent many Avengers flying back, Captain Marvel was able to withstand this attack and continue dueling with the Mad Titan fairly evenly. Memorably, she even left Thanos quaking in his boots when she shot through his mothership like a comet and brought it down single-handed.

Don’t believe me that Carol is stronger than Thor? Then take it up with the highest authority there is on the subject. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige specifically, without any doubt, labelled Captain Marvel as “the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe” back in 2019. At the time of her introduction this was unequivocally true. However, Carol has since been outranked by a certain competitor on a power-level, even if her emotional strength and overall capabilities remain top tier.

1. Scarlet Witch 2g1rd

Wanda Maximoff is without a doubt the most powerful Avenger in the MCU right now. From Infinity War onward, she has continued to display immeasurable power. Her first impressive feat came when she destroyed the Mind Stone from the head of Vision while holding back Thanos with her energy. Destroying an Infinity Stone is a task most characters wouldn’t even dream of, and yet she was able to do so while holding off the universe’s greatest threat.

The next time we see Scarlet Witch unleash her power is in the battle against Thanos at the end of Endgame. In this fight, she is able to duel with him to the point of forcing him to send down an airstrike allowing him to get out of danger.

However, the best argument for Scarlet Witch being the most powerful Avenger comes from the strength she showcased during WandaVision. At the conclusion of this series, she is able to fully embrace her persona as the Scarlet Witch using her chaos magic to take out Agatha Harkness while still maintaining her spell over Westview so that her children and Vision may remain alive.

This feat was only topped when we saw Wanda fully embrace the Darkhold during Doctor Strange in the Mutliverse of Madness. When and if we see Wanda again in the MCU its likely her power will have either grown or maintained from this point so she rightfully takes the number one spot on this list.
