Taylor Swift is known to bring ordinary people together but she does the same for celebrities. The Eras Tour wrapped over the weekend after a year and a half, 149 shows, and memories to last a lifetime. It also gave us the Modern Family, Agatha All Along, and The Office crossover we didn’t know we needed.

Swift’s Eras Tour has been a magnet for celebrities since it debuted in March 2023. Every show has featured several celebrities of varying magnitudes, whether in the VIP area or the crowd. Be it Travis Kelce showing up to her, the attendance of close friends like Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Gigi Hadid, or frequent collaborators like Jack Antonoff, her concerts became the who’s who of celebrity swifties.

The final Eras Tour show took place in Vancouver and it was as much of a magnet for celebrities as expected. The first night included names like Michael Bublé and Leona Lewis; Chelsea Handler attended Night 2; and the final night featured the TV crossover of our dreams.

The Eras Tour VIP area gave the sitcom crossover of our dreams

Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband, Justin Mikita, were constant in their love for Taylor Swift, attending the final show. The couple was previously at the last dates of the first U.S. leg in 2023, attending the Eras Tour at SoFi Stadium in L.A. on August 3.

This time, though, they also gave the best sitcom crossover: Modern Family meets Parks & Rec meets The Office. The couple hung out with Parks & Rec star Aubrey Plaza, who also stars in Agatha All Along, and Jenna Fischer, who played Pam in The Office.

Plaza was as cool as ever, with a sheer pink shirt, jeans, a red beret, and layers of friendship bracelets. Ferguson and Plaza appeared in the selfie with Fischer, who was there at the concert with her daughter. Fergurson also sneakily shared a picture with Taylor Swift’s successful longtime publicist, Tree Payne.

At their first appearance, Mikita wore a black T-shirt from Swift’s 2012 era with the cover of her Red album, and for the final show, he wore an official Eras Tour merch t-shirt.

The duo have a longtime relationship with Swift and even appeared in her music video for Lover‘s hit “You Need to Calm Down,” where Ciara officiated their marriage in the video.

In December 2020, Ferguson celebrated their friendship with an older picture of the couple and Swift, suggesting that he’s ready to continue their collaborations for a film with an adaptation of her Folklore song, “The Last Great American Dynasty,” alongside Reynolds and Blake. The project, unfortunately, never materialized.

If you’re thinking the last thing we needed was a Friends addition, that almost happened. The Modern Family actor met up with Friends‘ Lisa Kudrow for an episode of his podcast, Dinners on Me. Kudrow is currently promoting her latest Netflix series, No Good Deed, and marked the end of the most perfect sitcom crossover of all time. While Kudrow didn’t attend the Eras Tour with the rest of the sitcom stars, she shared the stage with Swift in 2015 for a magical rendition of Phoebe’s “Smelly Cat” during the 1989 World Tour.

‘Identity theft is not a joke’: Fans come up with the perfect ‘The Office’ joke to celebrate 2024’s Sexiest Man Alive https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/identity-theft-is-not-a-joke-fans-come-up-with-the-perfect-the-office-joke-to-celebrate-2024s-sexiest-man-alive/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/identity-theft-is-not-a-joke-fans-come-up-with-the-perfect-the-office-joke-to-celebrate-2024s-sexiest-man-alive/#respond Wed, 13 Nov 2024 14:10:05 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1790974 The sitcom is as hilarious today as it was when it premiered and this ongoing joke is top-notch.]]>

Every year, People Magazine hosts a competition to decide who the Sexiest Man Alive is. It hits the spot more often than not, as many iconic and popular actors have taken the cover at the height of their careers. This year, the honor went to a The Office favorite, who is bound to make many people happy, and the fans of the show have the best joke ready.

John Krasinski won the title this year, becoming 2024’s Sexiest Man Alive. While Krasinski isn’t the typical hunk, he is in great shape, as evidenced by his shirtless scene in 13 Hours, but he’s also charming and adorable. He’s an actor, screenwriter, producer, and director and creator of one of the best current horror franchises, A Quiet Place. Plus, he’s married to Emily Blunt, which adds 10 million cool bonus points.

Krasinski’s The Office character, Jim, was also right there at the top of perfect fictional boyfriends alongside Chandler Bing, Jake Peralta, and Phil Dunphy. All of them were ive, encouraging, loyal, and funny. Although Krasinski stepped away from his Jim persona with different roles, he’ll forever be associated with Jim, and this The Office joke came back at the perfect time.

Fans congratulated Randall Park for the Sexiest Man Alive

The mockumentary sitcom The Office, which was based on the U.K. version created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, ran for nine seasons and is often regarded as the best version of the sitcom among many other international versions. One of the ongoing gags on the show was Jim Halpert playing pranks on his colleague Dwight (Rainn Wilson), as the two had their desks next to each other.

One of the most intricate pranks was Jim bringing his friend, an unnamed character played by Randall Park, as Jim in the show’s final season. The entire office at Dunder-Mifflin plays along and try to convince Dwight that Park was actually the real Jim, who congratulated Dwight because he “doesn’t see race,” since he’s Asian. It’s one of the top-notch jokes, especially as Dwight insisted that “identity theft is not a joke.”

The joke is even more useful now that John Krasinski is People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2024, with Park coming up on everyone’s feeds. “Yess, of course he deserves it,” wrote a fan under People’s official announcement with a photo of Park.

https://twitter.com/davidrojasmusic/status/1856590930502889784

The stint continued online on different posts, all recalling the never-gets-old prank on Dwight.

The joke didn’t stop at The Office because earlier this year, Park stepped in for Krasinski again, this time as himself. To promote Krasinski’s latest directorial effort, the children’s fantasy film IF, starring Ryan Reynolds, one of the spoofs had Park impersonate Krasinski. He tried to convince Reynolds he was the director of the family movie, the same way he did with Dwight.

People had a very funny way of announcing the honor this year and they did it with the help of Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, who brought the actor to tell everyone how to be sexy and what he did to win this honor. Unfortunately, they missed the opportunity to bring Park.

While John Krasinski’s popularity was big during The Office years, he has remained a constant in the public eye, and his charm, quick wit, relationship with Emily Blunt, as well as his overall talent makes him a very suitable Sexiest Man Alive this year (sorry Selena Gomez).

‘We brought in the best of the best,’: ‘The Office’ casting director reveals NBC’s first choices for Michael Scott https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/news/we-brought-in-the-best-of-the-best-the-office-casting-director-reveals-nbcs-first-choices-for-michael-scott/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/news/we-brought-in-the-best-of-the-best-the-office-casting-director-reveals-nbcs-first-choices-for-michael-scott/#respond Thu, 07 Nov 2024 00:12:31 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1785421 Reality could have been very different.]]>

We all know and love The Office U.S., and there’s no one who could be imagined playing Michael Scott other than Steve Carell, however, there was also a reality where it wasn’t him. In fact, he wasn’t even in the network’s top choices.

The Office first aired in 2005 and concluded years later in 2013 and for most of that run, Carell brought his talent to the show, propelling it to massive success and where it sits today as one of the most popular sitcoms ever made.

Casting director for the show Allison Jones sat down with The Office Ladies podcast and revealed that there were two contenders for the role of Michael Scott that NBC put forth before ing Carell.

Image via NBC

“I vividly the first meeting we had with the network when [creator Greg Daniels] had a list of names, and they were like, ‘Let’s try Philip Seymour Hoffman,’ and then, ‘Let’s go for Paul Giamatti or whatever,’” Jones said on the podcast, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter

The fact that NBC was committed to putting an already-established star into the role shocked Jones, who hadn’t had too much experience casting major actors, aside from her work on Freaks and Geeks. Ultimately the network stuck to their typical approach by selecting a stand-up to lead the show rather than a superstar, and that’s when Steve Carell was chosen.

Jones explained that Carell was always a top choice for The Office, but due to his commitment to the series Tom Papa, it was important for them to audition other actors. Fortunately for their plans, Tom Papa was canceled shortly after it began, however, during the audition phase they tried out a ton of different Michael Scotts.

john krasinski steve carell

“We brought in the best of the best,” Jones said on the podcast. “Everybody was a different version of Michael Scott that could have worked. Patton Oswalt could have worked. Bob Odenkirk would have been amazing.”

At the end of the day, we believe the right choice was made. There’s no one that we can imagine fitting the role of Michael Scott better than Steve Carell, and if you’re after proof about how much he brought to the show, all you need to do is check how fans reacted to later seasons of the show when he was no longer around.

Still, you can’t help but wonder what could have been, should any of these other stars be called to the plate. Both Paul Giamatti and the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman would’ve been more than equipped with the skills to bring hilarious versions of the character to the series, but would it have been the same? I guess we’ll never know.

If you haven’t yet seen The Office, then we aren’t sure what you’ve been doing the last two decades, but you can remedy this issue by streaming it on Peacock now.

The Office will forever be a source of happiness, as the beloved sitcom has given us a comfort show we can binge-watch on and on. While the characters of the U.S. version are timeless and will forever be there for you, a piece of health news from one of the cast proves no one is untouchable.

The Office is based on the U.K. series of the same name created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant in 2001. The U.S. version premiered in 2005 and it’s easily the most popular version, as there are 11 more versions of the series around the world.

The American version followed the employees of a paper company called Dunder Mifflin, and it ran from 2005 until 2013, for a total of nine seasons and 201 episodes. Its original main ensemble cast was Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and B. J. Novak, with a series of guest stars as recurring characters, including Ed Helms, Rashida Jones, Amy Ryan, Mindy Kaling, Craig Robinson, James Spader, Ellie Kemper, and Catherine Tate.

An Office star shared a gruesome health diagnosis

In a post on Instagram, Jenna Fischer, who played Pam Halpert throughout the series’ nine- season run, has revealed that she was diagnosed with stage 1 triple-positive breast cancer in December 2023.

She recalled that she posted a photo of herself in October 2023 with a joke that sounded as if it was taken out of Michael Scott’s repertoire about “take care of your ticking time bags” ahead of a routine mammogram. However, the results were inconclusive, though a breast ultrasound revealed that the doctors “found something in my left breast,” and after a biopsy later, she found out her gruesome diagnosis.

Fischer noted that a “triple positive breast cancer is an aggressive form of breast cancer,” but the 50-year-old notes that “is also highly responsive to treatment.” She underwent surgery to remove the tumor, and it was “caught early and it hadn’t spread” anywhere. She did, however, had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation “to be sure it didn’t return.”

After detailing her battle and effects of chemotherapy, which included hair loss, Fischer noted, “I wanted a photo of myself in my patchy pixie looking happy and healthy to go along with this news.” The photo, as per Fischer, was taken by her co-star Angela Kinsey’s husband, Josh Snyder.

“After completing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation I am now cancer free,” she made sure to note. The actress noted that she was inspired to share her story online after ditching her wigs, and also because it’s during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is October. She also urged people to get their annual mammograms. The Pam actress also highlighted that she hopes her message “will be a source of ” for anyone going through this, explaining that following the gruesome diagnosis, “your life changes immediately.”

She further shared her appreciation for the “amazing village” behind her in her fight against cancer, including her family and friends. “Michael was right,” she wrote at the end of her message. “Get ’em checked ladies.”

Fischer received some from her fellow actors, including The Office co-stars like Angela Kinsey, Mindy Kaling, who shared a heart emoji, and Ellie Kemper, who wrote, “We love you, Jenna. Thank you for sharing and for inspiring.” More actors praised her for sharing her story, including Brooklyn Decker, Jennifer Garner, Tiffani Thiessen, and Olivia Munn.

Luckily, Jenna Fischer’s gruesome health diagnosis comes with a happy ending and a cancer-free diagnosis. The actress added that she was “recently re-screened, and the treatments worked” because she continues to be “cancer free.”

This version follows in the footsteps of the heavily acclaimed American sitcom starring Steve Carrell, Jon Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and Ed Helms, as well as Ricky Gervais’ original British series. The U.S. adaptation of the popular sitcom aired for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013.

Sarah Christie, senior development executive at Amazon MGM Studios, told Deadline that she knew the expectations of producing an Australian version of the iconic show. She also hinted that the office in the real world had changed significantly in the past five years, and they wanted the Australian version of the show to reflect that change.

“We want to honor the legacy but also provide something Australian to give it that local flavor,” said Christie. “There are 14 versions of The Office out there and we’re the first where the boss is a woman… And she is just as flawed, worthy and in love with herself as the other ones.”

These days, AI tools mostly have us lamenting the slow death of humanity and the meaning of life along with it, but it seems that they’re not entirely without their perks. Forget about that controversial Aussie remake of The Office that’s been making all the rounds recently, because we’ve got something infinitely better and more hilarious for you.

This new rib-tickiling re-imagination of the popular mockumentary features your favorite heads of state, getting into all sorts of shenanigans in the confines of the office space. You have Barack Obama masquerading as the infallible Michael Scott, Vladimir Putin as Jim Halpert, Hilary Clinton as Pam Beesley, and last but not least, Donald Trump in place of Dwight Schrute.

Check out this hilarious AI-rendered clip below.

And that’s not all. We have Murk Zuckerberg as Ryan, and Kim Jong Un as Kevin, though I can’t help but think he’s received the shorter end of the stick here. Everybody loves Kevin; the same could hardly be said about the North Korean tyrant. And while we’re on it, Dwight would be the perfect role for Donald Trump. He’s just dumb enough, and sufficiently ignorant of his own lack of intellectual capacity, to fit the absurd role of the extremist conspiracy-peddler and shameless opportunist. You’re not sure who I’m talking about, are you? Well, that’s just the point.

The depiction is so uncanny that you might mistake it for the real thing. Donald Trump, a smartphone, and tiny fingers furiously tapping away on the X timeline. Now that’s a cantankerous combo the world has yet to beat out of its system.

What’s fascinating is that upon some reflection, I realize that the real world and the current political scene aren’t far behind so a circus of chicanery as we’d like to think. In fact, it might be more plausible—heck, even more preferable—to assume that these politicians, these masters of the universe, are characters from The Office, and the damage they do with their words and actions limited to the lives of their co-workers and the walls of their workplace.

Alas, that hardly seems to be the case, as this video, posted in the same X thread in reply, will starkly demonstrate.

Yes, folks, it’s a tough pill to swallow, but the politicians of today are not exactly representing their constituents with integrity and wisdom. What they’re about, in fact, is a mystery, but it sure seems like they’re as clueless about everything as we are, if not infinitely more.

Although the American version of The Office wrapped over a decade ago, its fandom seems to grow every year thanks to its iconic characters, over-the-top timeless shenanigans, and availability on streamers like Peacock. And as names like Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute are synonymous with the NBC sitcom, so is Scranton, Pennsylvania, the city the plot’s based in.

So, does that mean it was filmed in Scranton? Well, some areas and buildings in Scranton are featured in The Office, but the show’s main set — the paper company’s office — was shot in a studio in California. Now called Quixote Studios’ Central Valley, the filming location was known as Central Valley Studios back in the day.

Whether it was the non-stop rivalry between Dwight and Jim Halpert, or the perfectly cringe decision-making from Michael, most of the beloved scenes through nine seasons took place in the office. But, the show frequently found itself outside of Dunder Mifflin walls. And according to NBC, some of The Office’s other locations were in Scranton.

For example, local restaurants Poor Richard’s Pub, Alfredo’s Pizza, and Cooper’s Seafood House were all used at some point. They’re all still open, so anyone in the neighborhood could check them out. Also, The Office’s classic theme song begins with a shot of the Pennsylvania Paper & Supply Company, an actual paper company in Scranton that’s still operating.

Other locations in the show or the opening song include The Marketplace of Steamtown, Scranton City Hall, Scranton Lake, and Anthracite Heritage Museum. So, if any fans want to make a trip to visit landmarks from The Office, they won’t be disappointed if they head to the sitcom’s setting.

Famous Amos’ ‘The Office’ episode, explained https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/famous-amos-the-office-episode-explained/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/famous-amos-the-office-episode-explained/#respond Thu, 15 Aug 2024 13:37:44 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1739473 Who else is really craving chocolate-chip cookies right now?]]>

Wally “Famous” Amos wasn’t just a great baker, he was also an excellent entertainer. The iconic founder of the Famous Amos cookie brand, who ed away Aug. 13 at age 88, made the most out of his entertainment business connections, making multiple television appearances to promote his company.

The first Famous Amos store opened in 1975 on Sunset Boulevard with the help of investments from the likes of Marvin Gaye and Helen Reddy, whom Wally had met through his career as a talent representative at the William Morris Agency (he is credited for booking Simon & Garfunkel and would use cookies to sweet-talk clients).

In the years that followed, as the business grew, Amos showed up in the massively popular sitcoms The Jeffersons and Taxi, and soon Famous Amos cookies became a household name. More recently, the enterpreneur made a cameo appearance in The Office in a perfectly on-brand chaotic scene featuring some of the show’s most recognizable faces.

What episode of The Office was Famous Amos in?

Wally Amos also known as Famous Amos, circa 1975.

A 76-year-old Amos was featured on episode 15 of The Office‘s eighth season as a guest speaker at a business retreat at the Sabre headquarters in Tallahassee (the baker and former talent agent’s hometown) to teach the gang about proper business building. Dwight, Jim, Stanley, Erin, and others had traveled to Florida as a selected team to participate in a special project that was being developed by the new owners of Dunder Mifflin.

Although the cookie king first draws celebrity-worthy reactions from the crowd upon being introduced by Catherine Tate’s Nellie Bertram, no one really pays attention to what he has to say once they find out he’s brought cookies. What makes the scene especially funny is the fact that Amos famously lost his business (and with it his name and likeness), due to bad business decisions. Much like this capsule scene in The Office, his legacy was never tied to savvy business moves, but to his delicious, handmade gourmet cookies that became the first of their kind to be widely distributed in grocery stores.

As Famous Amos was ed around from one owner to the next, the man who first decided to sell his Aunt Della’s famous pecan chocolate-chip cookies in a small shop in L.A. distanced himself from the business. Amos was uninterested in the direction it was going in after the new bosses began adding preservatives to the recipe for a longer shelf life, essentially making them a copy of every other product in the market.

A highlight of Famous Amos’ appearance in The Office is when Ellie Kemper’s Erin Hannon calls him “Famous,” thinking that’s his actual first name, and then apologizes for wasting his time when he figures out she was about to pitch him an oatmeal with no raisins cookie recipe. The episode is available to watch with a Peacock subscription.

Wallace “Wally” Amos died peacefully in his Honolulu home in Hawaii after battling dementia for years. He is survived by his wife Carol Williams, children Shawn, Sarah, Michael, and Gregory, as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

This month, YODA BBY ABY, a popular Facebook page that boasts over 100,000 followers, shared a post containing a poster teasing a revival series for the beloved sitcom The Office (U.S.).

“Get ready to dive back into the hilarious world of Scranton Branch with “The Office Returns” on Peacock!” the post, now with over 50,000 shares, states. “ Jim Halpert, now running the branch, alongside Dwight and the gang for 10 exciting episodes filled with laughs and surprises.”

The attached image depicting Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) sitting at the manager’s desk, with the Peacock streaming logo included. The comments on the post show a lot of excitement from The Office fans, with many asking if the rumor is true, and if so – when is it airing? Here’s what you need to know about the alleged revival series.

Is The Office returning?

The answer is a surprisingly long one. First up, sadly The Office is not coming back for more episodes with the original cast. John Krasinski, pictured in the poster and teased in the description, is not currently attached to any Office-related projects, as of May 2024.

YODA BBY ABY is notorious for posting promotional images for allegedly TV shows and movies that never come to fruition – as they don’t exist. “I’m just here to eat frogs, lift rocks and be satirical. The page is 100% satire and fake news,” the page’s description reads – although fake news and satire are two very different things. In more recent times, YODA BBY ABY has added “For entertainment purposes only. Not real.” to their posts.

The page’s typical style of somewhat realistic posters and attached descriptions, often including where to stream and release dates for these apparent films and TV shows, is enough to trick many Facebook s. Recently, the page successfully fooled much of the internet with a post about a modern-day remake of classic sitcom The Golden Girls, starring Lisa Kudrow, Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler.

However, The Office is, in a new form, expected to hit TV screens in the near future – although it is not like anything we have seen before, as will be explained in the section below.

Before this year, a female-led remake of The Office on Australian television, produced by original creator Ricky Gervais, was announced last year, but so far, this series has not hit screens.

As announced by NBC (the original network of the U.S. version of The Office) this month, a new series, set in the same universe as the American take on the sitcom, will air on Peacock, the network’s designated streaming service, has been officially picked up for development.

Details surrounding the new series are still pretty vague, but the network confirmed that the show will also take on the mockumentary format, and have original series co-creator Greg Daniels and Nathan for You co-creator Michael Koman at the helm. No release date has been announced so far.

The network, did, however, confirm an early premise for the new series, detailing ” a struggling Midwestern newspaper and its publisher’s attempts to revitalize it with a group of volunteer reporters, according to a press release”. The new story is in keeping with the synopsis of the initial series, which follows Dunder Mifflin, an ailing paper company struggling to keep profits up in an increasingly digital world.

Technically speaking, the new TV series is not the first expansion to The Office’s television universe. Parks and Recreation, a sister TV series created by Office producers Greg Daniels and Michael Schur, has a subtle wink to audiences that these TV shows exist within the same realm. Sabre, a company that supplies printers to the Pawnee government offices, is the same company that bought over Dunder Mifflin in The Office.

How can I identify a hoax Facebook post?

Often, Facebook hoaxes surrounding potential TV and movie announcements will be the only place you see these announcements. If these announcements were legitimate, multiple sources would post them – for example, The Office’s official Facebook (and Twitter, TikTok, etc) would also share the news. Be sure to check who is sharing the announcement – notorious clickbait generators like YODA BBY ABY can safely be ignored.

Other popular entertainment outlets, such as E! News, Entertainment Weekly, or TV Guide would post extensive coverage of major TV news like this announcement. Film and television industry reporters, such as Deadline or Variety, would report production details such as cast, producer/director/writers lined up for the new film or series, as well as a planned release date for the project.

Is ‘The Office’ coming back? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/is-the-office-getting-rebooted-the-rumors-explained/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/tv/is-the-office-getting-rebooted-the-rumors-explained/#respond Thu, 09 May 2024 12:59:58 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1593277 Is Steve Carrell returning as his iconic character Michael Scott?]]>

The Office is the hit sitcom that helped launch the careers of Steve Carrell and John Krasinski, and arguably was the one and only draw to sign up for the streaming service Peacock early on in its existence.

With its continued popularity via streaming, it may not surprise you to hear that there is a new show in the works that has close ties to the workplace comedy from the late aughts and will undoubtedly attempt to bank on that proximity.

While it’s not exactly a reboot, there will be some unexpected characters from The Office making a return for this new production, which comes from the mind of the man who adapted the show for American television, Greg Daniels, alongside Nathan For You co-creator Michael Koman.

We can all breathe a collective sigh of relief because no one will be attempting to remake The Office any time soon (some things you just shouldn’t touch, okay?). In a much more interesting approach, Daniels and Koman are developing a new series set in the same universe as Dunder Mifflin, and featuring the same documentary crew that spent years capturing the mundane lives of Michael, Jim, Pam, Dwight, and company.

The crew is picking up their cameras once again and taking them over to the newsroom of a historic daily Midwestern newspaper that is slowly wilting in the digital age. Its publisher is now trying to revive it with volunteer reporters. Per the press release, Peacock has sent the project straight to series but has yet to reveal a title or release date.

We do know, however, that Domhnall Gleeson (About TimeEx-Machina) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) will be leading an ensemble cast and that the series begins filming in July. I don’t know about you guys, but that is one fascinating combination of leading actors.

We know this from experience — there isn’t a single workplace that’s funnier than a newsroom. Sorry, Dunder Mifflin, Abbott Elementary, and Pawnee’s Parks Department.

15 best Netflix shows not available in the US https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/netflix/best-netflix-shows-not-available-in-the-us/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/netflix/best-netflix-shows-not-available-in-the-us/#respond Tue, 30 Apr 2024 16:22:10 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1688693 From classic sitcoms like ‘Friends,’ to timeless anime like ‘Cowboy Bebop,’ Netflix has said goodbye to some amazing shows.]]>

Netflix is the biggest video streaming platform in the world, with over 260 million subscribers as of 2024. It also boasts one of the largest catalogs of movies and TV shows around, including both original productions, and projects they have acquired to host.

However, the content presented in different Netflix libraries varies from region to region, particularly due to different licensing rights. And even though the company is based in the U.S., there are more than a handful of amazing Netflix shows that are offered in other regions, but not available in their home base. So while the following shows are sure to keep you glued to your screens, if you haven’t got a VPN, you’ll need to expand your subscriptions across multiple platforms to watch them.

Rick and Morty

Rick and Morty has been hailed as one of the best animated shows of all time, so it is a shame that U.S.-based Netflix subscribers can’t access it with the ease that their counterparts across the pond can. The sci-fi, comedy animated show is available on Netflix in the U.K., alongside other regions. However, residents of the U.S.A. can catch the duo’s otherworldly shenanigans on Adult Swim, Disney Plus, or Hulu.

The Office

Longtime subscribers of Netflix are no stranger to the streamer taking down shows it had previously hosted. The Office is one of many amazing shows that were removed from Netflix U.S.’ cata 2021. Stateside subscribers are only able to stream the award-winning comedy on Peacock, or purchase it on Amazon. The zany, mockumentary-style sitcom is set in the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, and revolves around the lives of its employees. Led by Steve Carell, there’s no shortage of laugh out loud moments on The Office.

Schitt’s Creek

Schitt’s Creek took the world by storm in 2017 after Netflix acquired the distribution rights to host the show. The genre-bending riches-to-rags story was conceptualized by Dan Levy and his father Eugene Levy, and follows a millionaire family who was defrauded of their wealth. In 2022, Netflix subscribers said goodbye to the show when it made a move over to Hulu. However, Netflix U.K. can still boast of watching the Emmy-sweeping series whenever they want.

Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks is the cult classic mystery drama that aired its first two seasons in the early 90s, only to return for a third and final season in 2017. It is set in the fictional, titular town, and is centered on an investigation around the death of the high school’s homecoming queen, Laura Palmer. The mystery show left the streamer in the U.S. in 2021, to Paramount Plus. Nonetheless, it has remained on Netflix in select regions, such as Argentina and Mexico.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

This hit comedy sitcom follows a group of codependent narcissists who often scheme and plot against others and themselves. Along the way, you can catch them displaying a range of hilariously unethical behaviors and thoughts. Today, It’s Always Sunny is available on Hulu for fans in the U.S. However, viewers across the pond still get their Netflix fix, particularly in the U.K. and Australia.

Friends

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEEbUzffzrk

Another iconic sitcom, Friends, is among the ranks of shows that are no longer available on Netflix U.S. The sitcom follows a group of six friends in their 20s and 30s navigating life and adulthood in Manhattan, New York. Much to the dismay of U.S. viewers, the classic sitcom was removed from the streamer in 2020. If you’d like to keep up with Rachel, Joey, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Ross, you’ll have to snag a Max subscription. Luckily for the rest of the world, Friends is still widely accessible on Netflix, from the U.K., all the way to Nigeria!

Steins; Gate

Despite Netflix U.S. hosting an increasing and impressive catalog of anime shows, Steins; Gate isn’t one of them. The acclaimed anime follows a group of scientist friends that accidentally discover that they can send messages to the past and time travel through that means. Since its 2011 release, the anime has garnered a cult following. However, you’ll require a Hulu or Crunchyroll subscription to catch this one.

Castle Rock

In the U.S., Castle Rock, the horror anthology show based on the works of Stephen King, is a Hulu exclusive. However, it is available on Netflix in many other regions globally. Castle Rock is set in the fictional town of the same name created by Stephen King, and each of its two seasons tells independently thrilling stories about its residents and their secrets.

Cowboy Bebop

This futuristic, Western anime is regarded as a classic of the genre and follows a group of bounty hunters on their spaceship, the Bebop, as they hunt down criminals across the galaxy. Cowboy Bebop was once available on Netflix U.S., but was sadly taken down from the platform in 2023. The show is only available on Netflix Japan, but viewers from America can watch it on Crunchyroll, or by using a VPN.

Fargo

Another highly acclaimed black comedy series that can’t be found on Netflix U.S. is Fargo. The anthology series is based on the works of the Coen brothers, and each season features influences and references to their work. Fargo is still available on Netflix in regions such as Canada, Japan, and more, but U.S. fans will require a Hulu .

Only Fools and Horses

This highly acclaimed British sitcom is predictably available on Netflix U.K., but unfortunately cannot be found on Netflix in the U.S. The show follows brothers Derek and Rodney as they struggle to escape poverty and make their fortune. Nonetheless, those in the U.S. can watch the show on Roku.

The Kids Are Alright

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQRcWDvPjLA

This comedy show might have only aired for one season, but fans enjoyed it while it lasted. The Kids Are Alright follows the life of Mike and Peggy Cleary as they raise their eight sons in the L.A. suburbs. In the U.S., it is available on Prime Video and Apple TV. Fans outside the U.S. can still catch the series on Netflix however.

The Big Bang Theory

Netflix U.S. used to host this award-winning sitcom but no longer does. The Big Bang Theory follows a group of hilarious, nerdy scientist friends as they interact with the world in their socially awkward way. Residents of the United States can watch the show on HBO Max, but for people in places such as Australia, , and others, their Netflix subscription is more than enough to enjoy all 12 seasons of the show.

Snowpiercer

Based on the 2013 movie which was in turn, based on the 1982 French novel, Snowpiercer is a post-apocalyptic thriller set on a giant train constantly circling the globe with the last of humanity. Class disparity and segregation cause the train’s climate to remain tense as its residents often clash due to inequality. Snowpiercer is available on Netflix Canada, , Brazil, Japan, U.K., and more, but not on Netflix U.S.

Power

The Power franchise is a highly acclaimed exploration of Black culture, trauma, and struggle that has had fans gripped since 2014. It follows James St. Patrick, or “Ghost,” a young drug dealer who dreams of leaving his criminal life behind. While Netflix s outside of the U.S. are being fed all iterations of the franchise, Power is not available on Netflix U.S., but can be found on the Starz channel on Apple TV.

Who is Jenna Fischer’s daughter? https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/who-is-jenna-fischers-daughter/ https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/celebrities/who-is-jenna-fischers-daughter/#respond Tue, 23 Jan 2024 15:16:43 +0000 https://wegotthiscovered.play1002.com/?p=1651166 We've seen her son's television debut in 'The Office', but what about her daughter?]]>

As much as we would have wished for Pam and Jim’s love story to spill into real life, we have to accept that John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer have their own lives outside of their Dunder Mifflin office romance.

When it comes to John Krasinski, we’ve seen plenty of his relationship with Emily Blunt together at events. As one of Hollywood’s it couples, we really can’t deny that if someone were to rival Pam and Jim’s chemistry, it would be them. However, Jenna Fischer has kept a much lower profile when it comes to her personal life, especially her children.

Nonetheless, through social media, the actress often shares bits and pieces of her daily life with her husband Lee Kirk — whom you’ve also seen in The Office as Pam’s lactation consultant. On that note, here’s what we know about Fischer’s family.

Does Jenna Fischer have any children?

Yes, Fischer has two kids. In 2011, she welcomed her first child, Weston Lee, with Kirk, which happened to coincide with Pam’s second pregnancy in The Office. Her second pregnancy was announced in February 2014, and in May of that same year, her daughter Harper Marie Kirk was born. At first, Fischer kept the gender of her daughter a secret but eventually unveiled more about her second pregnancy.

At the time of writing, Harper Marie and Weston Lee are still quite young. At this point, there’s no knowing whether they will be following in their parents’ footsteps, but one thing’s for certain: they will both grow up surrounded by love while knowing both their parents were involved in the arguably best love story in television — even if it’s through lactation consultants.
