Madea (Mabel Simmons)

Madea is another no-nonsense, tough-loving disciplinarian that may prove to be the kick East Highlands needs to get back into shape. She’d turn the whole town upside down, before fixing it back together again. Rue could benefit from a grandma like Madea, but we all know that this gran’s methods may be a bit too… archaic. Surely, none of the teenagers will take kindly to getting their butts whooped. So, for this to work, Madea’s going to have to swap out the hands for some verbal lashings instead.

Mbappé’s quite the showman off the pitch, but it’s his competitive side that would excel in a show like Euphoria. Speaking to Heat World, a supposed source close to the royal couple claims that Harry and Meghan are planning a holiday to the Bahamas to unload the stress that the beginning of 2025 has brought into their lives. Not only this, but the source claims the the getaway is also part of a bid to get their relationship back on track. There have long been rumors that the couple’s relationship is on the rocks, but the Sussexes like to keep their private lives very much a secret. 

“Meghan and Harry have been under intense pressure both personally and professionally, which has understandably taken its toll on their marriage. With their relationship under constant speculation, the latest damaging reports, their ongoing family drama and their Hollywood careers hanging by a thread, things are incredibly tough right now.”

There isn’t much evidence to prove Harry and Meghan are headed for divorce other than the claims made by body language experts. Depending on who you ask, you’ll either hear that the couple are mad for each other, or they’re practically divorced already. An exposé published by Vanity Fair back in January shared a claim from a source who said that someone from Meghan’s team was shopping around to publish a post-Harry divorce book.

Where are Harry and Meghan staying?

Filmmaker Tyler Perry, a close friend of the couple, has reportedly allowed them to stay in his private property in the Bahamas and encouraged them to take the time necessary to “reconnect and repair”. Perry has been a close friend to the Sussexes for many years now, when they first moved to California after leaving the royal family back in 2020 the filmmaker offered his mansion for them to stay in until they found their own place.

Perry also insisted they needed time away from “everyone, even the kids.” Meghan apparently agreed and so just her and Harry will be flying out next month while their children, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, will stay with Meghan’s mother and the nannies at their Montecito home.

The source claims that Meghan and Harry were left devastated by the public backlash they faced, but perhaps they’d be happier just appreciating what they do have. Most people don’t even have the choice to simply jet off on holiday after a tough month. At least they’re not in Prince Andrew’s shoes, hated by the public (deservedly so) and too afraid to take a plane anywhere outside the UK lest he be arrested by the FBI. Someone else always has it harder I suppose.

Tyler Perry has kept tight-lipped and avoided questioning when asked about his friendship with the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

The actor and producer was asked about relationship with Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, during a recent profile interview for The Sunday Times. Perry and Markle grew close in 2020, when she and Harry had withdrawn from royal duties and were living in temporary exile in Canada. Reaching out before the borders closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Perry offered the couple his private jet, security team and house in Los Angeles, the city they have since permanently relocated to.

Since then, the friendship has only grown stronger, with Perry being the godfather to Harry and Meghan’s three-year-old daughter, Lillibet. More recently, Perry and Markle were photographed together at the Paley Honors Gala in LA, where the actor was receiving a lifetime achievement award. While their relationship has consistently made headlines — as is to be expected for such a talked-about couple like Harry and Meghan — Perry stayed pretty cagey when quizzed about the royals by The Sunday Times. 

The Madea star was asked how he prepared his home for Harry and Meghan before they arrived in LA, and offered a curt response. “I didn’t,” the actor said, “Meghan is from California. She knows California well. So there was nothing to prepare them for.” According to interviewer Megan Agnew, broaching the topic of Harry and Megan led to “any conversational intimacy evaporating” on Perry’s end, but he did explain his reason for remaining so hesitant to discuss the pair. The actor said he had “learned” after years of their friendship “that any question that is asked becomes the headline of anything I say.”

Perry said this tendency of details about Harry and Meghan to pull focus is borne out of an “insatiable appetite to know all about them.” He was then asked why the public’s appetite is so feverish about the couple, at which point he told Agnew that she “would know better than I would because I’m not paying attention to that world.” By the interviewer’s approximation, discussing Markle was seemingly a touchy subject, to the point where it was “clearly time to cut” the line of questioning and cue the “next scene.”

While Perry wanted to avoid discussing Meghan in that case, the pair have been more open about their friendship in the past. In the 2022 Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, the Suits actress said she was grateful that Perry had offered his home during such a tumultuous period in her and Harry’s life. “I’d never met him before,” the Duchess said. “I was just crying and crying, and sometimes it’s easier to open up to someone who knows nothing at all, and that was that moment with me and Tyler.” 

For his part, Perry told E! earlier this year that Harry and Meghan “love each other,” adding that “they have a beautiful family and I just want the best for them.” Perry isn’t the only celebrity who has offered Harry and Meghan a place to stay in the years since the so-called ‘Megxit’. Sistas has been a pillar of Tyler Perry’s historical deal with BET since 2019. The show is one of the channel’s most successful investments, drawing an average million viewers per episode seven seasons in.

The comedy-drama series was renewed for an eight-season before season seven had even finished airing. Now, with the second half of the seventh season finally under way after a two-month-long hiatus, fans are wondering how long they’ll have to wait between the finale and the new batch of episodes.

Do we know when Season 8 of Sistas comes out?

Unfortunately, there is no official release date for the eighth season of Sistas yet, even though casting calls and rumors indicate it’s close to entering production. Typically, fans don’t have to wait long to check back in with Andi, Karen, Danni, Sabrina, Fatima, and the rest of the group, but there could be an unusually long pause inbetween seasons this time round.

Season 7 is expected to have a 22 episode run and air on BET all the way until August. The last time a season of Sistas ended in August was in season 4, and by October the show was back on air for season 5. However, with season 3 of Zatima (the Sistas spin-off based on Fatima and Zac’s life as a couple) still expected to come out this year, BET could decide to wait until that’s wrapped up to continue its Sistas journey.

Season 7 has been turning up the dial on the drama, especially when it comes to Karen’s freak pregnancy of twins by two different baby daddies (Zac and Aaron). There are still plenty more twists and turns in store for viewers before season 8 even becomes a concern, though.

The usual Sistas schedule, explained

Since its premiere in 2019, Sistas has a tradition of splitting its seasons into two parts. After the release of the first half of the season, the series typically takes a one or two-month break before airing the second half. Additionally, Sistas’ episodes have followed a fairly predictable weekly release pattern, and that doesn’t look like it will be changing. BET airs new episodes on Wednesday nights, allowing fans to mark their calendars for a midweek treat. For example, season 7 premiered on BET early this year on Jan. 3, 2024. Part 1 ran from then until March 13, 2024, when episode 11 was released. Now fans are waiting for the release of the second half of season 7.

Season 7, episode 12 release date

Previous reports, and a trailer following the release of episode 11 on BET, showed a May 22, 2024 release date. However, after a recent update from the studio, the release date for Sistas season 7 episode 12 was postponed. This has frustrated many fans, as this Season 7’s mid-season break has been the longest in the show’s history.

Two days before episode 12 was slated to air, the @luv4_zatima on X posted a new promo trailer, revealing that Sistas will be postponing the second half by a week. Thankfully, this means that the episode won’t be delayed for too long. Episode 12, titled “Next Level,” will finally air on May 29, 2024. Episode 13 has also been announced, so if anything, the next two episode releases seem to be set in stone. The episode is titled “Who Can I Run To.” 

So far, all the episodes in season 7 have been directed by Armani Ortiz, and the second half is looking to continue with the talented writer and director. Ortiz famously took over the show’s direction in the first half of season 6. Tyler Perry was behind the camera from seasons 1 until then. If Sistas continues its weekly release schedule, as it has throughout the rest of season 7, part 2 will (run from May 29, to Aug. 7, 2024.

Sistas, the hilarious BET comedy-drama series, is finally set to return for the second half of season 7! The series, which premiered on Oct. 23, 2019, follows the lives of a group of independent, single, Black women living in Atlanta.

The characters navigate society’s ups and downs, including careers, lovers, friendships, and even social media with one another. Created, written, and directed by the Tyler Perry, this TV show takes viewers on a roller coaster ride of every possible emotion.

The first part of season 7 premiered on Jan. 3, 2024, and ran for 11 episodes until March 13th, leaving us with a heavy cliffhanger in the finale. With Episode 12 now in our sights, let’s go over some must-know information about the next installment of Sistas.

Sistas season 7 episode 12 release date

According to reports and speculation, the second half of Sistas season 7 was initially planned for a May 22 release. It has, however, been set for a later date, with the official Sistas X confirming a May 29 release date. We expect the show to run from May 29, until August 7, provided the show stays true to its usual weekly release format. As expected, the series will be available to stream on BET on demand for free, as well as other streaming channels such as DirecTV and Fubo.

What to expect from the second half?

The second installment of season 7 of Sistas promises a thrilling ride full of suspense. In the mid-season finale, dubbed “Gone Girl,” Karen hosts a mocktail party for the girls, and Gary hires a cleaning service, giving them instructions to clean the office, hinting at a cunning plan already set in motion. Fans have since speculated that Gary may have killed Penelope and her baby. Moreover, we also got a quick look at Karen, as her paternity test results are left up in the air, leaving fans to guess who the father could be.

Episode 12 has an official title of “Next Level,” and a synopsis that may hint at something major: “Maurice and Grayson have a serious conversation about their future together, Andi gives sad news to Jordan, prompting him to reveal another part of himself.” Fans have speculated on what this means, with major evidence pointing to a possible confrontation with Jordan and Gary, perhaps as a result of Penelope’s current status as Jordan’s sister.

The Sneak Peek also includes important scenes. Hayden is seen acting strangely around Ms. Willis, which could spell trouble. In the same vein, Gary is apparently up to something evil, as he roughs up and threatens Andi. In the meantime, fans have kept the online discourse alive by sharing theories and examining previous Sistas episodes. 

There are so many stories to come out of World War II, and we’ve had so many adaptations of the real life heroism displayed during the war, that it’s almost difficult to believe there are war stories yet to receive attention. But Tyler Perry’s new film, Six Triple Eight, is set to tackle a story few have heard.

When will Six Triple Eight release?

There currently isn’t a firm date for when the film is set to be released, but Netflix’s Tudum has assured us that the film will be available to watch sometime this year. Well, that’s a pretty big time frame, and we don’t even have a trailer yet, so we’ll have to wait until that comes out first before we can get a more accurate release date.

The plot

The film will follow the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, the United States’ only WAC (Women’s Army Corps) unit whose were of women color. The 855 women were tasked with sorting through all the undelivered mail that had accumulated over the course of three years, and delivering said mail to soldiers on the front lines. All in all, there were 17 million pieces of mail to sort through and put into soldiers’ hands, and the 6888th Battalion accomplished their mission three months ahead of schedule, working under dangerous conditions, in segregated quarters, and without weapons.

The story of these women, and their efforts to raise the morale of soldiers far from home, hasn’t been as widely celebrated as it deserves. However, in recent years, the 6888th has seen greater recognition, having been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Joe Biden in 2022. Tyler Perry, who’s known for his work on both the big and small screen, promises to shine a light on these unsung heroes, and hopefully draw even more attention to their inspirational tale.

The cast

The film promises a cast full of talent with Kerry Washington, known for her roles in Scandal, Ray, and Django Unchained, taking the lead in an as of yet to be named role. The rest of cast is pretty stacked, with Ebony Obsidian, Susan Sarandon, Milauna Jackson, Sam Waterston, Kylie Jefferson, Dean Norris, Shanice Shantay Sarah Jeffrey, and even Oprah Winfrey.

Taraji P. Henson and Tyler Perry love working together. The duo have a collaborative relationship that’s produced three films so far and changed the game for Henson’s career, after Perry became the first Hollywood executive to both give her a leading role and pay her a fair wage. The Color Purple star has spoken often about pay disparity in the movie industry and her personal struggle to be compensated fairly, even after being nominated for an Oscar in 2008 for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. After the ceremony, Perry reportedly called Henson, offering her her first leading role in I Can Do Bad All by Myself.

Before that, they’d worked together in 2008’s The Family That Preys. “I’m grateful to Tyler for putting me on the road to being paid my worth. It was he who gave me a fair wage to star in his movie, which ultimately raised my quote — the baseline pay I could negotiate going into subsequent movie deals,” the actress wrote in her 2016 memoir, Around the Way Girl.

Their third, and so far, final project together was the 2018 psychological thriller film Acrimony in which Henson plays a scorned ex-wife with violent tendencies in search of revenge after her over-achieving husband spends all their savings on a ion project. The movie was not well received by critics or audiences, but Perry’s status and Henson’s talent have made it a cult classic, with many hoping the story will get a continuation via a sequel.

Is Acrimony 2 happening?

Despite speculation and a fair share of fake fan posters circulating on social media, there have been no official reports about a possible Acrimony sequel. The film, however, has just undergone a renaissance online after a recent showing on BET triggered the debate again about which party was right in the film’s conflict.

Simultaneously, American comedian and actor Desi Banks’ comments on the lack of from an ex-girlfriend when he was starting out in comedy, and a viral TikTok rant from ReesaTeesa about dating a narcissistic pathological liar drew comparisons to the movie, even incentivizing those who had never watched the movie to change that scenario.

Acrimony might be sporting a harsh 18% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but it’s clearly left a mark on those who’ve watched it and still use it as a cultural reference for present-day events. The recent buzz and its much friendlier 61% audience score might just motivate Lionsgate and Tyler Perry Studios to make that sequel after all.

For three seasons, fans have been treated to the highs and lows of the nightclub underbelly in All The Queen’s Men. The Tyler Perry-produced drama series, which debuted its first season in 2021, is loosely based on the romance novel Ladies Night, written by Supernatural and The Boys star Christian Keyes. 

Perry wrote the entirety of seasons two and three, which chronicled the main character Marilyn “Madam” DeVille (played by Eva Marcille) as she fought to maintain control of her nightclub empire, facing rivals and her struggles with alcohol addiction. With so many plot threads still to explore, here’s everything we know about the release date for All The Queen’s Men season four. 

Is there an ‘All The Queen’s Men’ season 4 release date?

While there has been no official confirmation of when it will arrive, we do know that a fourth installment of All The Queen’s Men is at least in the works. In an Instagram story posted by Dion Rome — who portrays nightclub dancer El Feugo — and shared to X by @Zacfatima, the actor can be seen entering his dressing room alongside the caption “back to work.” 

This suggests that season four of All The Queen’s Men was in production around the time of November 2023. The following month, X @moneybagg__nae claimed to be on set during the filming of season four, indicating that filming was happening around that time. While BET Plus, who hosts the series, has yet to confirm a fourth season, these hints prove positive for another helping of Madam’s empire-building. 

Though a greenlight remains elusive at this stage, we can estimate when season four of All The Queen’s Men will arrive based on previous release dates. Seasons two and three premiered their first batch of episodes in July 2022 and July 2023, respectively, so a July release window for season four seems within the realm of possibility. However, we don’t yet know the official release date, so keep an eye out for updates around the show. 

As for which castmates are set to return, Marcille is a safe bet, since she’s the lead star and her character has much to explore. If his social media posts are anything to go by, we can assume that Rome will reprise his role as El Fuego, as well as Skyh Alvester Black as Amp, Candace Maxwell as DJ Dime and Racquel Palmer as Blue, since they are all central to the show. 

Season three of All The Queen’s Men didn’t necessarily end on a cliffhanger, but Madam’s story, and the seedy world of power politics she operates in, is so rife with storytelling potential that we can only hope Tyler Perry keeps this show going as long as possible.

For two seasons, fans have been devouring the ups and downs of Zac and Fatima’s relationship in Zatima, the BET+ comedy drama series created by Tyler Perry. In the first two installments, we watched as the (un)happy couple navigated financial woes, infidelity, and long-held secrets, and these exploits are juicy enough to warrant a third season in fans’ minds.

The Sistas spin-off has been a stellar entry into Perry’s now-sprawling television universe, which also includes shows like The Oval, Ruthless and Bruh, giving the Ryan Murphy-verse a run for its money. So, as fans await the potential return of Zac (played by Devale Ellis) and Fatima (played by Crystal Renee Hayslett), the question on everyone’s lips is: what is the release date for Zatima season three?

As of January, 2024, neither Tyler Perry nor BET have announced an official release date for Zatima season three. While this might be frustrating, fans needn’t fret about Zatima’s fate just yet, since the lead stars have offered some morsels as to when the installment might arrive. 

In a video captured by fan @Zacfatima and shared to X (formerly known as Twitter), lead actors Ellis and Hayslett can be seen discussing Zatima’s third season. Ellis simply says the show’s third season is coming out “soon,” as Hayslett nods her head in agreement. The video at least confirms that a new installment has been greenlit and is in the works, but the vague “soon” does little in of an actual release window. 

Thankfully, we can go off the windows between seasons one and two of Zatima. The show’s debut season wrapped filming in December, 2021, before being released nine months later in September, 2022. Meanwhile, Zatima’s sophomore season hit screens in March, 2023, just seven months after filming finished in August 2022. 

Those timelines, and news that Zatima wrapped season three in December 2023, gives some indication of when the new batch of episodes might arrive. If the release process takes around seven to nine months, we can tentatively expect Zatima’s third season to premiere  sometime in late Summer or early Fall of 2024.

As for what we can expect in the new season, Zatima has plenty of plot points to explore in a new installment, from Zac having his assets frozen to Fatima announcing her pregnancy. Both Hayslett and Ellis are confirmed to return to the series, with Just Jared reporting that co-stars Remington Hoffman (Bryce), Guyviaud Joseph (Tony) and Ameer Baraka (Jeremiah) are also expected to reprise their roles.       

Created by actor and playwright Tyler Perry, Madea movies have grossed over half a billion dollars, spawning several spin-off TV shows, plays, and even an animated feature.
