The renowned host is reportedly now in 24 hour lockdown.]]>

Wendy Williams‘ mental health situation is complex. Ever since she left her show, she’s been reported to have experienced a cognitive decline and severe substance dependency that led to her being placed under conservatorship. Williams has been fighting that relatively recent status quo, and now we have a new update. 3j686n

People reports there’s yet another documentary coming out that’s set to detail Wendy Williams’ descent from the public eye. Her career as a daytime television host was interrupted by a diagnosis of Graves’ disease. What started out as a hiatus evolved into a divorce, a trip to a rehab facility, and then finally a contentious state-ordered guardianship.

Things got quiet for a while, but then came successive interviews where Wendy Williams would call in to The Breakfast Club and plead with her fans to campaign for her release. Eventually, that started to seem likely—well, sort of. During her appearance on The View a few weeks after her birthday, she shared that she was sober, and in a later call to Good Day New York, she claimed she had ed her cognitive test with “flying colors.” This is a major determinant as to whether she can finally be freed from her conservatorship, as Britney Spears was.

However, it has been alleged that Williams wasn’t entirely being truthful. Her now-hated guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, gave People a different story regarding Williams’ cognitive test. According to Morrissey, the court had ordered Williams to take the test in March — but Williams declined to participate at all, so in a sense, Williams is responsible to still be in there. On top of that, her documentary TRAPPED appears to have found sources that reveal Wendy Williams has not been alcohol-free, as she previously claimed.

The details of how her guardianship is run sound horrific. One story in the documentary recounts how Wendy relapsed on her birthday. Allegedly, she used to live on the 3rd floor of her assisted living complex, where she had access to the elevator and hallways. On her birthday, she apparently went to the rooftop bar and relapsed. In response, she was transferred to the much harsher 5th floor, where she’s now trapped 24/7 unless given permission by her guardian to leave.

In the documentary, there’s much speculation about whether Wendy Williams’ alcohol dependency is the root cause of her cognitive decline and dementia. Regardless of why she’s here, it’s rather sad that this is the way people struggling with mental health are treated. It almost seems like she’s imprisoned for being unwell. The more these reports come out, the more fans are convinced that none of this is in Wendy Williams’ best interest.

For years, Wendy Williams has been on television sets across the globe. Her job might have been messy — and she definitely tended to go too far — but people liked the mess. From presidents to A-listers, everyone was willing to go on her show to discuss their careers and opinions. Treating anyone like this is unacceptable, but it’s especially atrocious to do it to someone we all know so well. Especially since Wendy Williams stood up for Britney Spears so loudly. There has to be another way — other than locking her up.

How will Wendy fight the very system that controls her freedom?]]>
<![CDATA[

Since it became common knowledge that Wendy Williams’ guardianship was allegedly a replica of the hell Britney Spears was cursed to live in under her conservatorship for years, we have witnessed a desperate cycle of the famous host striving to break free from what she called a “hellhole.” But apparently, not everyone, especially those in control of her fate, is on her side or shares her ion and hope of making a comeback when she regains her freedom.

Mere weeks ago, Williams won her first major victory in her case when she was allowed to hire a new lawyer to fight her case. And while she raised an enormous number of eyebrows when she got “the most hated lawyer in New York” – aka lawyer Joe Tacopina – to fight for her freedom, hopes were high that the Wendy Williams Show host was finally getting the chance to stand up against Sabrina Morrissey, the New York-based attorney appointed by the court to be her guardian.

But as per a recent TMZ report, when Williams appeared during her latest hearing on April 10, the judge didn’t hold back in decimating her hopes and crushing her dreams of reembracing her career as a host. During a hearing this week, the judge told Wendy that she has no hope of restarting her career. According to Judge Lisa Sokoloff, she should quit dreaming about becoming a host again as her career is beyond over.

She allegedly started by condemning her family, especially her niece, Alex Finnie, who has been standing by Williams in her fight to end her guardianship. Finnie, a morning news anchor for WPLG, a Miami-based television station, has been vocal about backing her aunt’s claims about her condition and suffering at the institution she was been held at, and even ed her during The Breakfast Club interview where Williams revealed the dominating and manipulating design of her guardianship. She has also been accused of kidnapping Williams from the institution.

The judge – after calling out Williams’ family, like her brother Tommy, who has insisted that she is mentally and physically healthy – proceeded to underline that while the host once had a great career, she will never see it again as “it’s done.”

TMZ’s sources claim that the judge’s seemingly insensitive remarks hurt Williams “deeply” since she has been open about her desire to return to the career that gave her life meaning but was cut short because of the guardianship.

Once the famous host of her eponymous talk show on TV, Wendy Willams is now fighting for her freedom and to regain control over her life, which she lost to a court-appointed guardianship in May 2022. While it was initially put in place over concerns that Willams is unable to take care of her life, the latest alleged revelations paint the picture of manipulation and disregard aimed at the former host. But she finally has a chance to challenge it all — via her new lawyer.

In her recent wins against her guardianship and Sabrina Morrissey, the New York-based attorney who has been managing Williams’ personal, healthcare, and financial affairs, the 60-year-old didn’t just win a new neurological test but also the permission to hire a new legal team to fight her battle for her. Till yesterday, her chances of challenging the guardianship mostly hinged on “if” she gets a legal team, but not anymore.

In a chat with NewsNation, lawyer Joe Tacopina announced that he will be representing Willaims and freeing her from the assisted living institution she calls a “luxury prison.”

Now, Tacopina’s website speaks highly of the lawyer, detailing his many high profile cases that “frequently make national headlines including his successful effort to free rapper Meek Mill from prison, the investigation into the disappearance of Baby Lisa Irwin, Major League Baseball’s investigation of Alex Rodriguez, the acquittal of Sopranos actor Lillo Brancato on murder charges, and most recently, securing the acquittal of A$AP Rocky.”

But, outside in the real world, Tacopina retains the title of “the most hated lawyer in New York” and “the devil’s advocate” — initially coined by the New York Post back in 2011 — for majorly taking up controversial cases, like getting NYPD officer Kenneth Moreno acquitted in a rape case, defending former New York State Senator Hiram Monserrate against charges related to assaulting his girlfriend, getting an acquittal for The Sopranos actor Lillo Brancato who was facing second-degree murder charges in a 2005 shooting of a police officer, or of course, calling Donald Trump the “toughest guy” while defending him in the Stormy Daniels “hush money” case. He wasn’t really a big fan of the indictment of the now-president in the case.

Now, the moral dilemma of his choices aside, Tacopina is also known for not letting public opinion sway him and his belief that everyone receives a fair trial — which is all that matters in Williams’ case.

Today, Williams is fighting a not-so-different battle of her own.]]>
<![CDATA[

Wendy Williams is known for The Wendy Williams Show, but more than that, she is infamous for the controversies she acquired during her long stint as its host. Tact has not been her strongest suit, not when she appeared to dismiss Terry Crew’s sexual assault allegations against a top Hollywood agent, or when she went against publicly breastfeeding being a natural act and called it sexual.

It was this inability to rein in her extreme reactions that earned her massive backlash when the topic was Britney Spears’ controversial conservatorship.

Back in 2021, when Britney fought against her conservatorship and testified against the “bullying” she experienced under her “abusive” father, who only wanted to control her $60 million fortune, the public perception swiftly altered, and soon protests to free the pop star took over the nation. Her father allegedly refused to let her get married, didn’t let her remove her IUD, and pushed her to take lithium. Of the many who now saw Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, in a whole new light, Williams was also one.

In one of the episodes of her show, Williams cemented her position as a er of the #FreeBritney movement and touched up the then-unfolding court case to openly – and without holding back anything — condemn the singer’s father (and everyone else responsible for the hell Britney endured all those years) to death.

“How dare you, Mr. Spears, you had me fooled. And you too, Mrs. Spears. Death to all of them.”

That was a strong reaction for the studio audience, who gasped in shock at her words. But it didn’t end there as despite this particular segment getting edited out of the full episode, the backlash still came at Williams, even including staunch Britney ers who didn’t agree with Williams’ choice of words.

Many pointed out Williams’ hypocrisy here because mere months before this statement, she had been talking about how Britney needs to be “controlled.”

“I think that her father is a good man. I’ve heard that she still needs to be controlled, and she needs to have someone that’s controlling her finances, and controlling who she is friends with and where she goes and what time she’s coming in …”

At this point, #FreeBritney was spreading, with many fighting for Britney’s freedom. Of course, the singer found fresh from many in the industry after her testimony. Williams’ newfound desire to be in her corner didn’t really sit well with those who ed her regressive comments about Britney and they definitely didn’t appreciate her attempt of backpedaling when the voices standing up for her grew louder.

Today, Williams is striving to escape a similar hell. The only difference? There is no one questioning her ability to handle the freedom she desires desperately.

"They say she’s incapacitated."]]>
<![CDATA[

It has been way too long since Wendy Williams has been living in a guardianship she calls unfair and unnecessary, claiming that her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has been dominating her in The Coterie assisted living facility at Hudson Yards, where she has no access to the outside world. She and her family have been fighting to free the renowned TV show host and finally, there is hope that her nightmare can and will end.

Page Six reports that Williams has managed to acquire the rare permission to hire new lawyers for her guardianship case, which has been hanging in the air for a while now. Assisting her is Ginalisa Monterroso, the CEO and founder of Connect Care Advisory Group, who has been helping Williams in her case. In her chat with the outlet, Monterroso stressed that despite what the talk show’s host court-appointed guardian says, she is aware and functioning on her own.

“They say she’s incapacitated. That usually means someone who is a vegetable or unaware of their surroundings and unable to communicate. That’s not Wendy. Even just look at her operate her scooter. Can an incapacitated person do that?

I would not be advocating publicly on behalf of Wendy if I felt she had any cognitive issues or that she belonged in a memory unit.”

She explained how Williams is forced to live in what the latter calls a “luxury prison” where she has access to no electronics or to her rights. Monterroso has become a ray of hope in Williams’ life – the two speak almost every day and the former even penned a letter to Adult Protective Services in New York for Williams.

Another major positive development in Williams’ case is that she will be undergoing a neurological exam within the next two months. Monterroso revealed that a 2019 diagnosis by a doctor said that the 60-year-old was most probably suffering from alcohol-related dementia, which is reversible in some cases. This disease is not something that warrants guardianship, and as Monterroso puts it, it doesn’t explain why they decided to put “an alcoholic in a memory care unit and throw away the key.”

But since the chances of Williams managing to get a new legal team are still on “maybe” and the neurological exam would be held at the discretion of her guardian, she might be spending longer under the allegedly restrictive, manipulating, and dominating care of her guardian. But she is reportedly “positive” about her chances of leaving the “hell hole” behind, as per an OK! Magazine source.

“She’s trying to manage her expectations as far as how soon this will happen and trying not to get her hopes up that it will be tomorrow. But she is making tentative plans for herself as to what she will do when she gets out, so the good thing is she’s seeing this as a sure thing, and that’s given her a huge boost.”

While the freedom Williams is desperate to attain is still far away, at least she is finally making some headway in her journey to her better and independent future.

Wendy Williams' battle to end her legal guardianship takes another turn.]]>
<![CDATA[

Legendary TV personality Wendy Williams reportedly aced a psychiatrist’s capacity assessment she undertook at a hospital on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, once again putting her highly publicized guardianship under scrutiny.

Post-Free Britney movement, the public has become sensitive to celebrity guardianships, raising important questions about ways the law can be used to take advantage of individuals who perhaps needed aid at one point in time but no longer do. In Williams’ case, concern was sparked when she was seen holding a note that read “Help!” against a 5th-floor window of the assisted living facility where she stays.

TMZ, which has been working with Williams to produce the Tubi documentary Saving Wendy, broke the news that NYPD officers had attended the scene and determined that Williams should be transported to the hospital for assessment. According to TMZ, Williams scored 10 out of 10 on a psychiatric exam designed to evaluate a person’s decision-making capacity. The attending psychiatrist reportedly deemed her oriented after asking her 10 standardized questions.

The results of the assessment contradict the one produced by Williams’ guardian, who claims her condition since being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia has worsened, not improved. Williams disputes the diagnosis and effectively believes she is being held prisoner, as she explained to TMZ‘s documentary filmmakers via telephone since she was not permitted to leave the assisted living facility.

What is Williams’ condition now? 1k5w3u

Williams said she lives an isolated life, mostly confined to her room. She claims she can’t leave the 5th floor without staff permission, and that she had only been outside twice in the 30 days to attend dentist appointments. She also explained that she receives few visits, nobody can make inbound calls to her, and that she has no internet access.

TMZ’s Harvey Levin says he has spent hours on the phone with Williams, and that she’s lucid and able to converse like “the old Wendy.” But Sabrina Morrissey, the elder-law attorney appointed as Williams’ guardian, claims the opposite.

Morrissey claimed the former talk show host was “permanently incapacitated” in Nov. 2024 in court documents obtained by Deadline. Williams was diagnosed with primary aggressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in May 2023 after being placed under legal guardianship and moved into a care facility in 2022. The court-ordered guardianship oversees her health as well as her finances.

Saving Wendy is the second documentary to be made about Willliams’ guardianship. Morrissey’s team attempted to block the previous one, Lifetime’s Where is Wendy Williams, before its 2024 release. A court filing reported by The Daily News saw Morrissey’s camp arguing that Lifetime “cruelly took advantage of Williams’ cognitive and physical decline by creating and publishing a documentary at a time when Williams was highly vulnerable and clearly incapable of consenting to be filmed.”

In addition to the wellness check performed by the NYPD and the hospital assessment, Adult Protective Services has launched an investigation into the guardianship. The result of the investigation could prove important for Williams’ wish for the guardianship to be reevaluated, which she claims needs to be done on of an initial misdiagnosis.

And she liked what being THE Wendy Williams did to her.]]>
<![CDATA[

Wendy Williams has a complicated legacy. No matter what you think of her — and if you know Wendy Joan Williams, you definitely have a strong opinion on her— she remains an enigma. At the height of her career in the past, she’s finally opening up about her journey, revealing that hosting The Wendy Williams Show is what truly changed her.

These days, she rarely makes headlines unless she calls into her mentee Charlamagne tha God’s show, The Breakfast Club, to discuss her ongoing battles over her conservatorship. But long before that, she was a household name, dominating the daytime talk show slot as the only Black woman in that space. Her style — brash, unapologetic, and shocking — earned her both devoted fans and bitter enemies. In a Cosmopolitan interview a few years ago, she revealed that she used to squint while driving home, checking if anyone had vandalized her mailbox with “burned poop” or other disgusting pranks. She largely attributed it to racism.

Still, beyond ignorant prejudice, Williams also made plenty of celebrity enemies during her 20-year career on radio. Criticizing Jay-Z’s controversies over the years even led to her being name-dropped in an unflattering way on the intro of his 1997 album, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1. But when she transitioned to television, the scrutiny intensified tenfold. Suddenly, she wasn’t just covering musicians — actors, businessmen, and socialites became fair game.

Her new subjects, and by extension her new foes, had far more resources at their disposal. That meant she, too, became vulnerable to exposure. Soon, stories surfaced about her struggles with drug addiction, as well as her son’s. Later, it was revealed that her husband had been having an affair. As expected, Williams became far more private after making the leap from radio to television. In the Cosmopolitan interview, she said:

“I’ve never had a bunch of people around. I mean, alright, when [my son] Kevin was younger, we did have somebody living with us and somebody would also come during the day, but the second I got this talk show, I was like, everybody out, out, out. I was scared. Like, what if I took off like wildfire and [my family] became the first family of daytime TV? We don’t need people pilfering through our sneakers and jewelry and stuff, spying on us, trying to influence our son. If anything, the talk show has really made me return to the creep that I really am. Very private, very mysterious. I like it that way.”

For better or worse, she has left that stage of her life behind. Now, her focus is on freeing herself from conservatorship, and if recent reports are accurate, she’s almost there. Her declining health in her show’s final years led to its cancellation and made her reconsider her inner circle. She told Charlamagne tha God that many people convinced her to sign off on the now-infamous A&E Lifestyle documentary. However, in the same interview, she said she doesn’t want to be part of her conservatorship’s lawsuit against the network. She just wants to move on peacefully.

The TV star maintains she does not have dementia.]]>
<![CDATA[

Wendy Williams‘ situation for the last three years has been dire, but she has finally gotten one step closer to regaining her freedom. The development comes after a devastating documentary showed her sobbing from the window of the special care facility she has been “isolated” in by a court-ordered conservatorship since 2022.

Per TMZ, Williams signed an affidavit on Wednesday asking a judge to “set her free.” The talk show host claims she has “regained capacity” to look after herself without the supervision of appointed conservator Sabrina Morrissey. She further alleges that she was misdiagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia, and will be re-examined by a new doctor, picked by her lawyer, next Tuesday.

The outlet also reports that Williams’s lawyer plans to file a petition to accelerate the process soon after. Should the judge deny the motion to end the conservatorship, the 60-year-old TV personality intends to demand a jury trial.

This comes just weeks after Wiliams fired her court-appointed lawyer, Linda Redlisky. According to TMZ, the star was not happy over Redlisky’s failure to “get the ball rolling” on legal proceedings to challenge the conservatorship. Last month, the Daily Mail reported that her family was reaching out to lawyer Ben Crump as they “advocate for Wendy’s rights and autonomy.” Crump is known for defending high-profile social justice cases, previously representing the families of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, per his firm’s website.

Prior to pursuing legal avenues, Williams relied on the media as much as possible to get the word out about her situation. Following a lengthy phone call to The Breakfast Club, accompanied by her niece who corroborated her side of the story, the TV presenter then spoke to TMZ. The resulting documentary, titled Saving Wendy, is available to watch on Tubi and contains footage filmed from outside the New York facility Williams is being kept in, including images of her crying.

The outlet says no cameras are allowed in, with Williams stating that she’s not permitted to receive phone calls on top of having visits severely restricted.

Other disturbing details revealed by Williams include claims of limited outings, with the star saying she had only been allowed fresh air twice in the last 30 days.

[I am] isolated. Where I am is this place where the people are older … I don’t eat out there with them, because it is so [very] depressing. There’s a bathroom, there’s a closet, and the TV which was purchased by me through the guardian person.”

A financial conservatorship was first petitioned by Williams’ bank Wells Fargo three years ago after her financial advisor alleged she was of “unsound mind,” putting her at risk of financial exploitation and undue influence.

In the new TMZ documentary, the TV host confirmed that her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., had “overstepped his boundaries” and was “inappropriately using [her] money without telling [her].” She also mentioned “other people” who had been leading her son astray.

TMZ’s team notes that someone with Frontotemporal Dementia can only get worse, while Williams, per those who have had the chance to speak to her recently, seems to be getting better.

A controversial Lifetime documentary, which aired early last year and was filmed between 2022 and 2023, revealed Williams’ struggle with alcoholism. It seems sobriety has significantly helped her health, resulting in her sounding much more lucid and autonomous.

Ever since she fainted live on air in 2017, Wendy Williams‘ life has been on a downward spiral, placing her health in the spotlight. Notably, in 2022, a New York Supreme Court ruled that Williams required a temporary financial guardian, formally asg Sabrina Morrissey to the role. Representatives for Williams later claimed she had been diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. However, Williams has now come forward to refute these claims.

Before Charlamagne Tha God became one of the biggest voices in radio, for calling out CNN among other things, he started as Wendy Williams’ timid second mic. So, it’s only fitting that Williams chose Charlamagne’s The Breakfast Club to break her silence on the much-discussed matter of her mental health. To everyone in the studio’s surprise, Wendy Williams sounded fine during her call, exhibiting no obvious signs of mental decline. She was her usual upbeat self, openly and definitively discussing anything asked of her, reminiscent of the Wendy fans loved for years.

Concerns about Wendy Williams’ condition have been simmering in pop culture ever since the release of the documentary Where Is Wendy Williams? which centered on her disappearance from public life. While the documentary didn’t explicitly accuse Morrissey, it strongly implied that people in Williams’ circle might be taking financial advantage of her. During her call to The Breakfast Club, Williams, alongside her niece Alex Finnie, set the record straight about her relationship with her representatives by firmly confirming that she considers her situation financially and emotionally abusive.

Finnie told the hosts that the documentary has made it nearly impossible for Williams to live an independent life. Wendy Williams reiterated this, stating that she doesn’t even have access to a laptop or phone. She also claimed she’s being partially denied visitation rights and likened her current situation to being in prison.

The matter that most interested fans, however, was whether she retains her mental acuity, as the alleged loss of it was the justification for her loss of financial control in the first place. Williams asserted, “I am not cognitively impaired. But I feel like I am in prison. I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s, their 80s, and their 70s. There’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.”

In her usual dark humor, Williams added that she doesn’t even have $15 to her name. She and her niece called on fans to push the #FreeWendy hashtag on social media and donate to her GoFundMe page so she can move to Florida to be closer to her loving family.

s on X didn’t waste any time and calls for her freedom have already started.

The Source also reported that Williams’ son shares her perspective, describing her as sober and saying the loneliness is harming her far more than anything the conservatorship claims to protect her from. This situation feels eerily similar to Britney Spears’ battle with her conservatorship and the aftermath of her release. Wendy Williams has previously expressed that she feels the system has failed her. We can only hope the system finally starts listening to Williams and the people who genuinely care for her.

The talk show host was visibly upset after her caretakers majorly messed up.]]>
<![CDATA[

Daytime TV legend Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance recently to attend her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.’s graduation dinner. But the joyous occasion wasn’t without its minor hiccups as the 60-year-old got into an argument with her carers.

The talk show host was heard berating her two caretakers in footage of the incident. She had traveled from New York to Miami to be with her son, but from the sounds of it, her journey was anything but smooth sailing. Although there was some missing context, InTouch Weekly reported that Williams could be heard yelling to the group, “And then both of you walked away leaving my s**t in the street,” before saying, “Just get the car, please. Make sure it’s the right car.”

It sounds like her caretakers really messed up in a big way. We In Miami Podcast host, Stunt Lifestyle was at the scene and was able to ask some more questions from Williams, finding out exactly what had made her so upset.

According to the podcast host, Williams had been leaving a restaurant and had felt confident walking, so her son brought her wheelchair out onto the street. In the clip, Williams explains that her caretakers “got the wrong car,” before leaving her wheelchair on the street, “I knocked on the door and it was [the] totally wrong car. They left my scooter as they walked over there leaving my most precious most – this cost a f***ing mint.”

Williams was understandably upset, Stunt stated Wendy and her family were angered by the “messy” ordeal, they believed her caretakers were incompetent, adding that it was “about the disorganization and the lack of care.” The frustration seems perfectly understandable considering these people are being paid to look after Williams who is pretty vulnerable. However, it seems they are making some pretty unforgivable mistakes – these are people that Williams hasn’t got much choice but to trust.

Until relatively recently, Williams had been a staple of daytime television but sadly her health has been in steady decline for the past several years. Concern for the TV host started back in 2017 after she fainted while on air. Then, in 2021, Williams had to pull out midway through the season due to her health, and the decision was made to cancel The Wendy Williams Show the following year.

In 2023 she was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and primary progressive aphasia. Frontotemporal dementia is a group of diseases that affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain and can often lead to behavioral and personality changes. Meanwhile, primary progressive aphasia affects one’s ability to communicate.

While celebrating his graduation, Kevin Hunter Jr. gave a little health update on his mother claiming she’s sober and hoping to come home soon. Reports earlier in the year claimed that she was staying at a treatment facility to help with her dementia, although, from the sounds of it, she’s hoping to get well enough to be able to return to her family.

The queen of daytime talk show rocked full glam to watch her son get his diploma. ]]>
<![CDATA[

We all miss seeing Wendy Williams sitting on her iconic purple chair and serving the latest celebrity gossip on morning television. Ever since news broke that she’s become “permanently disabled” amid her battle with dementia, the queen of daytime talk show hasn’t been seen in public… until this week.

On Thursday, Dec. 19, Williams, 60, bravely stepped out to attend her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.’s college graduation. The former talk show host was snapped rocking a full glam while riding a mobility scooter to the event at Florida International University’s Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs in University Park, Florida.

Photos obtained by Page Six showed Williams looking better and fabulous while entering the venue. She evidently prepared for her son’s special day since she had on a sparkly midnight blue floor-length gown. She paired it with black-and-white Chanel shoes and gold, silver, and diamond-encrusted accessories over her hands and neck.

Williams, who was revealed to be diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia in February, was photographed with some security guards at the venue. However, she did not need help running her scooter on her own.

Fans who spotted the Wendy Williams Show host at the graduation shared photos and clips from her rare public sighting. One video shared on X showed her sitting between her sister, Wanda Finnie, and her dad, Thomas Williams Sr., 93, while paying attention to the ceremony. It drew a lot of positive reactions from her ers who miss seeing her on TV.

“She looks better than the last time I saw her. Glad she’s doing good,” one wrote, while another commented, “I just watched all of her new documentaries recently and it makes me so happy to see she’s finally with her family. Sitting next to her sister [crying emoji].”

Someone else remarked, “She looks like she’s doing better. I’m happy for her.” Meanwhile, a casual er, who was moved by Williams’ latest public appearance, penned a lengthy message, saying: “I don’t know the extent of her health problems, but from what I’ve heard it feels like she’s been done wrong by some. I’m happy to see her out and living life and celebrating her family. I hope she continues to flourish with the right people surrounding her.”

According to Page Six, when Hunter Jr., 24, was called on stage to receive his diploma, Williams was instantly overcome with emotion and was seen wiping tears away. One photo shared by the outlet also featured Williams clasping her hands under her chin while sobbing. Williams’ son reportedly took longer to finish his studies because he was caring for his sick mom. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree this week, per the commencement booklet obtained by the U.S. Sun

The Emmy Award-winning TV personality’s latest sighting comes less than a month after her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, announced in late November that she’s become “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated” due to her early-onset dementia.

It can be noted that her popular talk show was canceled in 2022 in the wake of her health struggles. Williams, who had an estimated net worth of $40 million in 2020, was put under legal guardianship after it was determined that she was of “unsound mind” to make financial decisions.

After losing control of her assets, Williams’ net worth significantly dropped to $5 million. Since her diagnosis was revealed earlier this year, she’s been staying in a wellness facility that helps her address and manage her symptoms. Based on her outing this week, it appears Williams’ health regimen is doing wonders for her condition.

The talk show host wanted to stage a comeback to her iconic purple chair.]]>
<![CDATA[

Watching Wendy Williams spill the tea on the latest celebrity gossip while sitting on her iconic purple chair was a staple of daytime talk shows throughout the 2010s. But as with all things beautiful and entertaining, it had to end, leaving fans dejected and longing for the day when the famous television personality could grace the small screen again. Sadly, that is no longer possible.

What happened to Wendy’s talk show? 42365t

The Wendy Williams Show first graced television screens in July 2008 to much fanfare and excitement, since it happened fresh off the success of her nationally syndicated radio show, The Wendy Williams Experience, which aired from 2001 to 2009. Following a six-week trial run, the TV talk show was quickly renewed for a full season, and the rest, as they say, was history.

Williams’ unique way of discussing celebrity news and updates through her show became an undeniable hit among viewers. It even regularly competed against The Ellen DeGeneres Show for being the top-ranked syndicated talk show. But after 13 years, the daytime talk show suffered a tragic fate when it was forced to abruptly end, not because of the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, but due to the host’s health challenges.

Since fainting on-air during a Halloween episode in 2017, Williams’ health has been on the radar among fans and viewers. In the final year of her show on the air in 2021, the titular star had to go on a medical leave in the middle of the season, forcing producers to bring in a series of guest hosts just to keep the show going, according to the BBC

The following year, Debmar-Mercury made the difficult decision of ending The Wendy Williams Show after 13 seasons. Initially, the production company assured everyone that Williams was free to return when she was able. But they already gave the time slot to Sherri Shepherd’s own show, Sherri, which has since been renewed for a third season through 2025.

Did Wendy get to say goodbye to her show? 333b52

What’s quite disheartening to note about the cancellation of Williams’ talk show is that the titular host did not get to properly say goodbye to her live audience, purple chair, and all the ers who stayed with her through the years. When the show aired its final episode on June 17, 2022, Williams was not present, so Shepherd took the reins and bid farewell to the small screen on behalf of the “Queen of all Media,” according to Deadline

In the aftermath of the cancellation, Williams spoke out against Debmar-Mercury, telling the New York Post in July 2022 that they did not ask her to appear in the finale, so she didn’t. “There was nothing I liked about the (final episode of) Wendy Williams Show,” she said. “I sat in my apartment, and I watched it. And [I was] like, ‘Eek!’”

In the Lifetime documentary Where is Wendy Williams?, the namesake star itted that she was still hoping to stage a comeback and stay on TV for many years. In February of this year, her niece Alex Finnie appeared on Good Morning America, saying that despite her health issues, Williams was still keen on continuing her television career.

Unfortunately, Williams is no longer able to realize her desire to return to her purple chair. Sabrina E. Morrissey, her court-appointed guardian, revealed in new documents this week that her early-onset dementia has gotten worse, and she’s now “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and legally incapacitated.” But while she may not be able to grace the small screen again, Williams has already cemented her name in the history of talk shows and her legacy will certainly live on for years to come.
