Hey, Marvel, ‘Secret Invasion’ is coming out in two weeks, so where’s the hype?

What's the deal, Marvel?

It’s not a far-fetched notion to state that the MCU has poured its heart, soul, cash, and divine marketing into a variety of fresh-faced projects. Considering blockbuster flicks like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 were both showcased and discussed for several weeks before releasing in theaters — much to the obvious delight of MCU fanatics everywhere — it’s certainly worrisome that Marvel’s Secret Invasion has barely been spoken about lately.

Without a doubt, plenty of MCU die-hards are heavily anticipating the Nick Fury-led thriller series. But it’s that very fact that is making all of us wonder why the show has barely received any marketing — at least, not on the same level as other Marvel projects. Naturally, Marvel stans over on Reddit definitely didn’t waste much time in bringing the discussion to the forefront.

It took little time before the comments were swarmed with commenters agreeing with the OP, noticing that not much has been mentioned lately about the series. Then again, with the word ‘secret’ on full display in the title, could the marketing being kept at a dull roar be exactly the plan that Marvel is shooting for? It would make perfect sense, honestly, as a way to create even more chatter and anticipation around the miniseries.

Whichever way you look at it, it’s hard to deny that the hype for the project is there — but maybe you just have to squint a little to truly see it. For those interested, Secret Invasion will swoop onto Disney Plus on June 21.
