The fate of Waystar Royco hangs in the balance, so just how many more episodes until 'Succession' reaches its conclusion?

The final days of HBO’s biggest shows, amassing legions of fans since its season one premiere in 2018. In the time between, audiences have been treated to (or dismayed by) an onslaught of power plays and Oedipal dynamics, all courtesy of Succession’s killer cast of media magnates known as the Roy Family.

Much of the series’ dramatic tension has revolved around Jeremy Strong) as the frontrunner.

The official synopsis for season four of Succession reads: “The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.” In anticipation of Succession’s series finale, we’re sifting through the episode of season four and projecting when each of the final few episodes will land.

How many episodes in season four of Succession?

The fourth and final season of Succession will include ten total episodes. This is an added episode count in comparison to season three’s nine-episode run, but aligns with the ten installments of seasons one and two. The eighth episode of season four, which included a harrowing presidential acceptance speech, arrived last week, with the series’ penultimate episode landing today.

Much of the storyline throughout the recent episodes of season four has centered around the sale of Waystar Royco to Matsson (played by Alexander Skarsgård), the presidential election, and the sibling in-fighting in the wake of Logan’s death. HBO’s official logline for episode nine reads: “As the family girds themselves for an emotional funeral, Kendall finds himself at odds with Rava and inopportune news from Jess. Shiv tries to reposition herself in a new political landscape, and Kendall rallies ers to his side.” A preview of episode nine has been released by HBO.

Episode release schedule.

Much like fellow HBO titles like Game of Thrones, Succession’s fourth season is released weekly, so it’s impossible to binge the series all in one go. Season four premiered with its first episode on March 26, with successive (pun intended) installments arriving each week after that. That places us just one week away from the series finale, which is set to air in the US on Sunday, May 28.

The episode is broadcast on HBO at 9:00 PM EST, and will be available to stream on The Menu.  See the full episode release schedule — including previous outings and the penultimate episode and finale — below. In the meantime, fans will have to wait with bated breath as the fate of Waystar Royco hangs in the balance.
