See the 8 rumored episode titles for season 1 of Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

Rumor has it that Netflix's 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' episode list has surfaced.

Just Avatar: The Last Airbender, more rumors about the live-action adaptation are making the rounds. And if the rumors are true, it looks like fans are in for a faithful adaptation of Book 1 of the animated series.

Over on Twitter, Editor-in-Chief of Knight Edge Media, Caleb Williams, posted a list of episode names. While Williams did not mention where he got the info, Avatar News has stated that the information can reportedly be found on some corner of the Writers’ Guild of America website.

If accurate, the episode titles are probably out-of-order, and it’s likely that “The Last Airbender” could be the first episode. It’s an apt descriptor of the premiere – and it’s possible that the episode will incorporate elements of the cartoon’s second episode, where Aang (Gordon Cormier) must grapple with the loss of his people.

As for the other episodes, it’s possible “Into the Dark” will adapt an episode known as “The Storm”, in which Aang and Zuko (Dallas Liu) recall their own respective pasts. That episode is a seminal one for the animated series – and given that Elizabeth Yu has been cast as Azula in the series, despite a mere cameo appearance in season 1 of the cartoon in that selfsame episode. There’s really only one place she might make her debut, if the series does not radically alter events in some manner.

“Masks” would likely adapt another hugely important episode from the cartoon – “The Blue Spirit”. “Omashu”, naturally, would likely adapt “The King of Omashu” – the episode which introduces King Bumi, Yvonne Chapman will be portraying the former Avatar at some point, while Maria Zhang is slated to portray Suki.

“Spirited Away”, while likely a fun Studio Ghibli reference, could potentially be an adaptation of the “Winter Solstice” two-parter – a story which has huge ramifications on the overall story of The Last Airbender. Meanwhile, “The North” could possibly adapt the arc in which Katara (Kiawentiio) fights against the sexist traditions of the Northern Water Tribe. And, while at first “Legends” seems a bit hard to suss out because of its seemingly generic title, it might just be intended to be the season finale. After all, isn’t the legend of Tui and La the center point of Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s Book 1 finale?

Fans can rest assured, even if the episode list doesn’t turn out to be entirely accurate, that the series will be jam-packed with action and adventure. Though these titles paint a pretty clear-cut photo of what season 1’s plot could potentially be, there’s also so, so much more for the world of Avatar to offer and so much more in store for fans to discover.
